Chapter 25
"We're going to be moved up in rank and maybe even given a bonus for nabbing that Uchiha girl, don't you agree, Masuku?" Taihen mused as he continued to pull the cart on the wet road; he barely broke a sweat. The four men were traveling in a certain direction, the sacks that were filled with the unconscious children were packed on the cart; outsiders would simply think they were transporting goods by how still the sacks were.
The masked shinobi frowned at such a comment.
"Could you be any louder?" he asked sarcastically. He didn't like how most of the men were so careless. His eyes shifted side to side to make sure they weren't spotted by anyone. There was no telling if they would come across a shinobi that belonged to the Five Great Nations.
"Loosen up, no one's around," Taihen assured their current squad leader.
"Taihen is right, you're always too uptight," Hiyake patted Masuku's shoulder. "Like we told you, the rest of the girl's squad is long gone, and we're far from their home, so we won't be bothered by anyone."
"You never know…" Masuku pulled his shoulder away from Hiyake's hand; he didn't like being touched. "And I wouldn't get my hopes up with a promotion if I were you. There's a reason why we were never given orders to get merchandise as high of value as the Uchiha girl," he coldly stated.
"How 'bout that kid, the Feudal Lord's son?" the fourth shinobi, Daiyon, asked.
"That was different…"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say," he scoffed.
"He just doesn't want to admit we made a big catch," Taihen chuckled, but then he raised an eyebrow when he noticed Masuku stop in his tracks, his eyes narrowed past them.
The rest of the men turned to see what was ahead of them, and Taihen and Hiyake couldn't help but think their minds were playing tricks on them.
"It can't be…" Taihen said in shock to see Miso up on a hill, glaring daggers at them through his goggles. His clothes were still battered, but he stood tall, taking a step toward the men.
"Give Mitsuki back!" Miso snapped at the man. He was done crying. His blood boiled by just looking at the men as the horrible memories flowed through his mind. "Or you'll regret it!"
"Why am I not surprised…?" Masuku could tell it was the same boy from the Genin's headband that was strapped around his head. He shifted his eyes to Taihen, ignoring Miso's threat. "I should have expected as much… After all… you couldn't even beat a blind man."
Taihen shot a glare at the masked shinobi.
"He was no ordinary blind man," he snapped back in defense. "And who the hell told you about that?!"
"Guys, calm down." Daiyon walked past them; he grabbed the hilt of his sword. "There's no need for us to fight. I'll handle this."
Miso pulled out a kunai and got into a defensive stance. He noticed Kawatarō was not among the four men which irked him. He wanted to just find Kawatarō and make him suffer for what he had done to Obito.
"It seems they dragged his body away," Ashizame said as he was kneeling down on the spot where Miso and Chan last saw Obito.
"How do you know…?" Miso asked quietly, holding back the tears that threatened to come out. He hoped to at least retrieve Obito's body, but there was nothing left except the scars of their nightmare marked in the forest.
"I can smell blood," Ashizame said as he turned in a certain direction as he took in the scent that lingered on the ground. "He lost a lot of it while he was dragged away. They may have dumped him somewhere so no one could find his corpse."
Chan observed Ashizame. He still had suspicions about him. It was very strange to see the older teen act so calm and serious. After all, the first time they met him, he was very childish.
Maybe the whole thing was an act.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when Miso tried to run off, but Ashizame quickly jumped in the boy's way.
"You're not going anywhere," the older teen said with a frown. "At least not without us."
Miso looked up with hot tears trailing down his cheeks.
"Sensei didn't even have the will to get up and defend himself," he stuttered sadly before anger flashed through his eyes. "Yet they struck him down! They killed him with smiles on their faces!" He yelled at Ashizame while his chest twisted painfully. The way the men didn't even leave Obito's body untouched made him angrier.
Something deep inside the boy was burning him. He couldn't calm it down as much as he wanted to; it felt as if it wanted to devour him whole.
"I'm not letting them get away with it!"
Ashizame could tell Miso was filled with rage that he couldn't control and, at the same time, was mourning Obito's death. Both emotions together were a dangerous mix. There was a reason why shinobi weren't supposed to feel emotions.
"I know you're suffering from your loss, but you need to focus on getting your teammate back before it's too late," he reminded the blond. "I doubt you'll want to lose her, too."
Miso's gaze dropped to the ground.
"You'll get your vengeance soon…" Ashizame assured Miso, who turned his hands into fists. "Now stop rushing blindly into things and start acting like a true shinobi."
Miso dashed down the hill to attack the men head-on.
Daiyon smirked. He couldn't tell if the boy was brave or just so foolish to fight them by himself. He lunged at the boy.
"Die!" he yelled. But before he could swing at the boy, his eyes widened as pain radiated throughout his body, blood burst from the back of his neck.
Mitsuki desperately struggled to get her hands free. She was sitting up; finally she had the strength to do more than just lie around. The collar around her neck was still keeping her chakra levels down, but her will was strong; she wasn't going to let anyone take advantage of her.
All she wanted was to go back home, cry in her mother's arms and have her father kill Kawatarō and the rest of the heartless monsters that dared to take her teammates' lives.
Then she stopped as she remembered Obito, Chan, and Miso…
Her head drooped and she couldn't hold her tears back.
Were they really gone…?
She shook her head as she swallowed a dark feeling that tried to overwhelm her.
She thought about them all. She remembered how Chan was a jerk at times. She never liked how he looked down on his father, but even then he was a good childhood friend. He never disrespected her, even though he was very cocky about his own skills…
Her mind then went to Obito… At first she hated him, but then… but then she realized he was more than just a murderer like everyone thought he was. He was suffering in the world and just didn't care if he lived or died. Even though she believed he didn't care about her at all, she wished he did…
Then her chest ached for the one she cared for the most… Miso…
He was her best friend. Since they were born, they were always spending time together; their parents were good friends, after all, so it was natural to have been brought up as if they were siblings themselves.
Miso may have been annoying sometimes, and so naïve, but… he was there for her all her life. Like the time Itachi was born and the time her parents almost got a divorce for a certain incident… She was never alone. How did anyone expect her to continue living now that he was…
Gone.
Mitsuki's teeth clenched as her body shook.
"You're really that happy we're on the same squad?" Mitsuki asked her childhood friend.
"Of course!" Miso confirmed.
"Well, I'm warning you… don't slow me down," Mitsuki said strictly, to which Miso gave her a thumbs-up.
How could he just disappear from her life? He was supposed to become Hokage; he was supposed to be there for her during her hard times that were yet to come. She couldn't live without him. He had to be there, to give her strength.
The more she remembered him, the more she wanted to…
Mitsuki's sobs stopped as the last words from Miso ran through her mind.. "Please… Mitsuki… just don't give up."
Her chest flared with pain.
Her eyes snapped up as her Sharingan flashed with anger before they forged into a form of vortex. A wave of energy surged through her as she violently yanked her arms free from their holds. She didn't waste any time questioning how she got the sudden power. Getting to Konoha was her priority.
Before the collar sucked her dry, she tried to crush it with her hands, but the device was too strong for her. It forced her Sharingan to deactivate, and she fell back to the ground, panting weakly.
"My, my, even now you continue to fight…"
Mitsuki tried to jump to her feet, but her arms wouldn't budge. She felt so weak, and she couldn't help but gasp in pain as Kawatarō grabbed a handful of her hair, forcing her head up.
"But don't worry… I'll soon break you," he hissed with amusement.
"What the hell!?" Taihen snapped to see Daiyon collapse to the ground, a pool of blood began making its way underneath his lifeless body.
Ashizame stood in a stance behind the corpse, his sword drenched in blood.
He had jumped out from one of the puddles that were around and sliced Daiyon, who was completely off-guard. The attack went according to plan.
Miso didn't even spare a glance to the fallen shinobi as he stepped around him to stand next to Ashizame.
"I'm going to cut you in half you fucking brats!" Taihen yelled out with extreme anger while Hiyake was still processing the fact one of their teammates was taken down with ease.
Masuku, in the meantime, narrowed his eyes at the shark teen.
"Told you they would underestimate you," Ashizame said with amusement to the blond, who continued to glare at the rest of the men.
Ashizame began to feel a rush of excitement to engage in battle with the remaining shinobi, but he held it in. He had to remind himself the whole thing was not a game; he had to take things seriously.
"Are you sure your Mitsuki is in one of those sacks?" Ashizame asked the blond who nodded.
"And there are others in there, too. I picked up weak chakra signals with my Byakugan."
"Then let's go!" Ashizame thrust his sword to the ground, leaving it there before making a couple of hand seals.
"Water Style: Water Shark Bomb Jutsu!" Water was pulled from his surroundings to create a large shark that went flying at the enemy.
Taihen and Hiyake jumped into action.
"Earth Style: Mud Wall!" Taihen clasped his hands together. A solid wall shot up from the ground, completely blocking Ashizame's attack.
Hiyake jumped over the wall and made his own hand seals.
"Water Style: Dripping Bullets!" He yelled as a wave of energy dispersed from his hands to his surroundings, and in the blink of an eye, a thousand water drops, forming bullets, flew at Miso and Ashizame.
Ashizame moved out of the way; they hit Miso harshly, but he vanished, revealing he was just a clone. The rest of the bullets hit the ground hard, making countless holes.
Ashizame dashed at the enemy while he quickly maneuvered through a couple of hand seals.
"Water Clone Jutsu!"
Two clones were made and they clashed against Hiyake and Taihen while the original ran past them to meet with Masuku, who was just standing next to the cart with a frown behind his mask.
"Ashizame Hoshigaki… is helping shinobi from Konoha?" Masuku asked coldly. "A Missing Nin like you is obviously using them for some sort of… payment… am I right?"
"Is that any of your business?" Ashizame scoffed as he pulled out two kunai; he had left his sword behind.
"Very well then…" Masuku pulled off his mask, revealing a scar running across his lips. He dropped the mask and pulled out a small scroll from his back pocket. He made a hand seal. "My name is Masuku Hata… and I, as a samurai, accept your challenge."
A samurai?
Ashizame was confused. What was a samurai doing with a bunch of rogue shinobi?
A long black bow was summoned to Masuku's right hand; it had what seemed to be flexible, sharp steel limbs.
Ashizame blinked as he had never seen a bow like that. What confused him more was Masuku choosing a bow instead of a sword to fight.
"So much for a challenge," Ashizame said with a toothy grin. "I thought samurai used katana to fight with."
"You have been misinformed…" Masuku said coldly as he shrouded the bow with his chakra. "The way of the bow and arrow is the true way of the samurai." He instantly pulled the string as arrows made of chakra formed before he fired them; they multiplied as they shot in Ashizame's direction.
The boy frowned as he quickly evaded most of them by jumping out of the way. He winced as his shoulder was sliced by a mere touch of one of the arrows. The ground burst from the impact; the damage was greater than Hiyake's Water Bullet Jutsu.
Ashizame was silent at seeing the damage, and cursed under his breath as he quickly ran into the forest as a flurry of 'missiles' were launched; they sliced through the trees as if they were nothing.
Masuku chased after him and continued shooting at him with great dexterity.
"Stop running away and face me like a true warrior!" Masuku called as he leaped from branch to branch.
Ashizame took his time hiding behind tree trunks until he was spotted by Masuku. He was trying to think of a way to get close to Masuku without getting arrows shot at his head. From the way the attacks didn't slow down in the slightest, he guessed he was going to have no choice but to maneuver his own long range attacks.
"Water Clone Jutsu." Ashizame created four clones that scattered to get a chance at Masuku.
Masuku aimed his arrow up, the chakra around the weapon turned red.
"Flaring Shower!" he yelled, he shot one single arrow over his head which flared into countless arrows that rained down around him, like a shield, before it shot bolts at his surroundings.
Ashizame's clones dispelled as they were struck down, leaving the original to mentally curse about his predicament.
Miso and Chan ran to the cart after they hid from the rogue shinobi; they had waited for Ashizame to pull the men away from the sacks. The clones of Ashizame continued to stand and fight against Hiyake and Taihen; they were successful in dodging severe hits that would have made them dissolve away.
"Don't worry Mitsuki! We're here!" Miso yelled as he and Chan began cutting the sacks open as fast as they could.
"This is just… wrong…" Chan said as he was disturbed to pull a little girl from her imprisonment. He carefully laid her down on the ground and checked her pulse to make sure she was still alive. He relaxed at feeling a heartbeat.
"We need to hurry," Chan told Miso, who was pulling out a little boy from the cart. "I don't know if Ashizame can really beat those men."
Chan didn't have to tell Miso twice. He wasted no time to open each sack in the hopes that they would find Mitsuki, though his eyes widened in disbelief after ripping the last one open.
There was a five year old girl inside, and Mitsuki was nowhere to be seen.

She tried to pull away, but was dragged out from the warehouse before she was thrown near the campfire the men had set up.
Her heart was painfully beating against her chest as she sat up with wide eyes to see she was surrounded by rogue shinobi.
She was terrified; she couldn't escape. She felt so vulnerable out in the open with the enemy watching with dark amusement. Kawatarō made his way to her, a sly smile made its way to his face.
Mitsuki backed up as much as she could from the sick man. A tree trunk stopped her from behind. Her eyes shook with fear and, unfortunately, that was all she could do. She knew threatening him with her father's wrath would be ignored, in addition to her pleads.
She screamed as Kawatarō pulled on her legs, pinning her down on the ground. She struggled even now, wanting it all to stop.
"Now, now, there's no need to fight it," Kawatarō whispered in her ear. His hot breath sent shivers down Mitsuki's spine. "You're going to enjoy each second that I..."
Mitsuki let out a sad cry and tried to shove him off with her knees, but she could barely move them.
Kawatarō snickered at her actions and leaned down to her face. He didn't care if the rest of his men were watching; he actually wanted them to see for his amusement.
"Bite me… I'll rip your tongue off," Kawatarō hissed at the girl, making Mitsuki's eyes widen as he forced his lips on hers.
Everything around her seemed to go still. Her eyes froze to know her first kiss was taken from her. She winced, tears of aguish trailed down her cheeks as he continued to press his rough lips against her tender ones.
He savored her, even went as far to force his wet tongue inside her cave.
Mitsuki's stomach heaved and she shut her eyes hard. She tried to, in a way, rip her soul from her body to escape the nightmare.
He slid a hand under her shirt and gently caressed her stomach, making her twist in discomfort, but also sent shivers through her body. Then the next thing she knew… she wasn't really there…
Everything seemed to go dark around her. She was alone; no one was with her, not even Kawatarō, though she could still feel hands prying on her. They ran over her chest before gently stroking her undeveloped breasts.
Her reaction was confusion. She didn't know what was going on, nor did she know where she was. Where were her parents? Where were her friends?
She felt… a strange sensation, one that felt nice and warm… In a way, she believed, it would lessen the pain to simply accept the moment, but then again… she didn't want it. Her soul screamed for help.
She knew it was wrong. After a moment of feeling the intruding hands, she felt sick. She wanted to rid of what was on her, but she couldn't, she felt she was just a rag doll…
"See? You're enjoying it," the dark voice whispered to her. She felt her mind run off from reality, but dragged back as much as she didn't want it to.
He tugged on her shorts, to expose her to the world, but unconsciously, her hands clutched on to them.
Kawatarō frowned at the girl's sudden resistance. He had unzipped her shirt, a pink training bra shielded her chest; she hadn't fought to keep her shirt on, so it irritated the man to see her struggle now.
He was losing his patience as he felt 'hard', his urge twisted and yearned for more. He decided to stop playing nice and just make her scream, so he yanked her shorts down, snapping the girl back to her senses.
"No!" she screamed, but was cut off by a harsh smack across the face. Her shock froze her on the spot before slowly meeting the lustful eyes that wished to tear her apart.
His eyes glistened, a cruel smile made its way for the sick desire as he unzipped his pants. He pulled the girl's legs closer to her. Before he had the chance to rip her undergarments off, something caught the corner of his eye.
A dark figure was standing there, next to the tree that Mitsuki had backed up to and in a split second, blood gushed out from his head, a fist brutally smashed it to the ground, and all Mitsuki could hear was a roar of rage.
Quick summary for last scene: No, there was no rape : o. She was almost raped, but luckily for her she wasn't. She was messed with a bit and she tried to avoid feeling it so she kind of distant herself from reality in a way. Before Kawataro had a chance to do anything to the extreme, he was punched harshly by a dark figure that had suddenly appeared near them.
Samurai Fact: traditional samurai first used the bow and arrow and were known to be skillful to kill with such weapon : o, Of course they used swords when it came to close combat, but that wasn't what they were known for mostly. Fiction molded the current Samurai image that we have. I learned in Japanese history the way Samurai fought and how the bow and arrow was their main weapon to use in war. But of course I'm going to blend the samurai that Kishimoto used and the traditional samurai to make things interesting :3.
So I'm not sure when the next chapter will be posted up though, lol. I'm going to be updating the twist of fate next, hopefully, and... a little surprise thing :D
So what do you guys think of the chapter? : O What do you think is going to happen? : 3 What did you think of Ashizame and the battle scenes? Who saved Mitsuki?
Please the ones who usually don't leave a review or comment, please do so x.x. I want to know what you guys think of the story
