Chapter 24: Welcome to Planet Tazba...
Bardock couldn't stop the plethora of thoughts that he was going through. After a lot of mind-numbing meditation, he had succeeded in controlling his visions to the point of perfection. And he was quite proud of that.
The last Kanassan sat on the couch of his modest living room, watching the Saiyan carefully. He had been the one that had executed the purge all those years ago. He should feel angry, but he didn't. That was against every Kanassan law; good or bad, they were all living beings. And they all deserved a second chance, as long as they still had goodness in their heart. Bardock was one of those people. It was obvious he didn't want to purge Kanassa, but those had been Frieza's orders. He hadn't done what he did because he wanted to. He had been forced to do it. And had paid the price- after purging the planet, he had lost his entire squad, killed by the hands of Dodoria no less. And he had lost his mate. That, to a Saiyan, was the greatest punishment possible, even more so than living without their tails. If a mate died, the other one would slowly deteriorate in one way or another. Bardock had slowly deteriorated in his own way, losing all will to live. That was until he came...
Armaldo was no fool. He had read Bardock's thoughts about his time travelling grandson, and that was precisely what had improved just a tiny bit Bardock's life- knowing there would be the boy to brighten his days. So he waited, patiently, for the kid to even be a thought in his parents' mind. That would be excruciatingly long, seeing as said kid's father was a kid himself. He chuckled. Grandpa Bardock…
"Armaldo." Spoke the scar faced Saiyan softly as he sat down on the chair.
Armaldo tried to read his mind to see what he wanted and what was bothering him, but all he found was a wall, blocking the Saiyan Seers mind. He smirked.
"Well done Bardock. The student beat the master in his very own game."
Bardock smiled and sighed. "It's time for me to leave."
The Kanassan nodded, sadly seeing as Bardock had become, what he would call, sort of a friend on this desert of a planet. Truth was, he didn't want him to leave. But he couldn't make him stay either.
"I want you to come to planet Vegeta with me." He heard him say and his eyes snapped open, as he locked eyes with the man.
"I- I can't." he finally said in defeat.
"Why can't you? You're all alone here, you took me in when it was me who killed everyone, when it was me that made this planet the way it is-"
"STOP. Enough." Said the Kanassan before he lost it. "Don't utter a single word."
"Come with me back to planet Vegeta. You can live there."
Armaldo shook his head and got up, leaving the room and a quite sad Saiyan behind. He knew that when he came back in the morning, Bardock would be gone. It was better like this. He hated saying goodbye. They both did.
It was 4 weeks later when Bulma landed on Planet Tazba, thanks to a problem on her ship she had to land on another planet to fix it, refuel and, not surprisingly, she didn't escape the shopping part. Apparently, that planet was known for trades and shopping, being the first option travelers had when they needed something. Which explained the huge flux of aliens.
Another problem the heiress faced were the Tazban brutes, guarding the docking bay, which meant she had to land somewhere else, unnoticed. And again, unnoticed, she had to infiltrate the palace. Now that, would be hard as hell, seeing as Mela's Saiyan senses never failed her.
She landed the ship with precision, so she would not be spotted, and clasped on her wrist her latest invention, something she got to work on when not reading Casia's diary, which had left her quite shocked. It was an invisibility cloak of some sort, disguised in the form of a bracelet, able to shield her from being seen, but with one tiny flaw that made a huge difference: she still hadn't figured out how to make it's battery last longer. It worked for an hour, but needed a huge amount of Ki to recharge.
"I need to waste the energy wisely." She muttered, afraid that rocks would be able to hear her. She knew that was absurd, but with the amount of strangeness she had seen, she wouldn't be surprised if a tree walked up to her, bowed down and said "Hi!". She shook her head, chuckling with her thoughts on a greeting tree, and encapsulated her ship, found her hover bike capsule and with a button press, the capsule was thrown to the ground, her favorite bike standing 'tall' after the smoke cleared. She was in an alien territory, so she had to be careful.
"Okay Bulma, time to save the damsel in distress." She said and tried to contain her laughter at the thought of Vegeta as a damsel in distress.
Mela sat in front her vanity table brushing her ebony black hair. While she looked at her reflection she though of what a person she had become. Her father used to tell her the streets were paved with gold and that if she trained hard she would have the potential to become an exalted personality in the Saiyan forces and if she paired that with a charming personality she might become the wife of the prince and future Queen.
But that wasn't the way she decided to go "That old fool", she said to herself. Mela had made her own way and the streets she had walked were paved with blood, the blood of her people, and the blood of some of the most powerful rulers within the Saiyan empire like the Theran king and her children's father's King Aurelius of Tazba. Did she regret that? No!
Mela was a heartless Dictator intoxicated with power and supercilious who would stop at nothing.
As she thought about these things, and her life for the past two years, two small voices started to cry, letting their mother know that they were either hungry, needed to change, or simply in the mood to cry. Not that she minded, her little ones seemed to be the only ones she really cared about… and her late husband, but he was dead now… oh well.
She went to see her babies, and gasped at the sight: Alexandra was quietly sobbing, while Helios had his tiny hand on her tummy, trying to soothe his twin sister. Mela smiled lovingly at them while gently and slowly rocking the crib, trying to put them back to sleep. Suddenly, she thought of Vegeta, and a smirk crept up her face. She picked her twins up, holding a sleeping Helios on her left arm, and an also sleeping Alexandra on her right one, and headed towards his room.
Vegeta had felt it the moment she landed. He didn't know how or why, but he knew she was there, and couldn't help but smile a little and panic at the same time; smile because she cared about him and panic because he knew she was in deep trouble if someone found her. He then felt Mela's ki heading towards his room, accompanied by two minuscule ki's, similar to hers. 'The devils.' he thought to himself just as his bedroom door was opened, to reveal the Tazban queen and her heirs.
"What the fuck do you want?" he barked at her, not loud enough to wake her devils up though. He couldn't stand crying babies.
"Well, hello to you too Mr. grumpy pants." She mocked him and he dangerously growled.
"No Vegeta, don't growl around the babies. I brought them here for you to meet and bow before them. After all, they're my heirs, and someday will be your superiors."
"They say no one can stop you from dreaming. You're the perfect example of that." He said crossing his arms.
Helios eyes snapped open, but he didn't cry, just eyed the Saiyan prince carefully. He developed like a Saiyan baby, so he could understand what was going on and the tender age of a month.
"Look son." She told him nodding towards Vegeta, seeing as her other arm was occupied by Alexandra. "He's a grumpy man, but seeing as you're the firstborn, you're also the Tazban crown prince, meaning that in the future, he will be your servant, to do your bidding just like you see fit. Don't let your sister mingle with the mortals."
Vegeta laughed out loud, making the Tazban princess wake up and wail, which made both mother and son glare at him hatefully.
"Me? That brat's servant? Oh don't make me laugh, I'm no one's servant."
"Oh but I think you are Vegeta. What about your blue haired bitch?" said Mela trying to get a rise out of him, while trying to soothe Alexandra.
Vegeta's eyes narrowed dangerously as he growled again. "Get out. Get out or I'll swear you'll curse the moment you brought the devil's spawns in here."
"Vegeta, that's low, threatening two babies. It's like trying to attack an opponent while he can't defend himself. And you call yourself an honorable warrior. But, touch even a single hair on their heads and I swear I'll rip your heart out and feed it to the wolves." She finished in a deadly cold, calm voice, and with that said, she left the room.
