Author's note:
Alright the real 25th chapter is ready, I'm actually pretty disappointed that I got no feedback on what you guys thought of the first chapter of my new story I'm working on , whatsoever. All I asked for was a review of what you thought of it, I really don't think that's too much to ask for.
Anyway here's the next chapter and I think there are only about 4 or 5 chapters left in this story
Chapter 24: black and white
Six days had passed since ash had found out about the champions tournament. He and his family had arrived at the indigo plateau three days earlier. Since he had arrived Ash spent most of his time practicing with May.
The apartment was the same one Ash had stayed in when he first competed in the indigo league six years earlier. As the sun began to set Ash had all of his Pokéballs that he brought with him set out on the coffee table. May and Felix were sitting on the couch next to Ash as he went through his pokemon.
"So Ash do you know who you're facing tomorrow in round on?".
"My opponent tomorrow is a trainer named Hilbert. He's a trainer from the Unova region, according to his stats he won the unit of Unova league three years ago. His most recent accomplishment was his victory in the Unova battle frontier".
"He sounds good, then again if he's wanna Pokémon league and the battle frontier he has to be".
"So Ash what Pokémon is going to be using tomorrow?".
"I can only use three of them dad, so I think I'm going to go with Croconaw, Snorlax, and Torkoal".
"Do you have any idea what Pokémon he's going to use?".
"I know he's got very powerful Serperior, Unfezant, Krookodile, Haxorus, Hydreigon, and Zoroark. He used them to defeat the leader of the Unova league, so he'll probably use at least one of them in the match tomorrow".
Delia came out of the bathroom and yawned, "guys I'm exhausted, I think I'm going to go to bed".
"I think I'll head to bed to. Don't stay up too late Ash, you got your match at 9 o'clock tomorrow at the rock field".
"I know, good night dad".
After Felix went into the bedroom with Delia Ash got up and let all of his Pokémon out of their pokeballs.
"All right guys it's time for dinner", Ash and May began setting down bowls of food for each of their Pokémon.
"May do I head out and get some dinner, it's not too late".
"Sounds good let's go".
Pikachu heard this and swallowed the food in his mouth. He ran over to Ash and climbed up under his shoulders.
"You want to come with us Pikachu, alright", Ash bent down and took the food for the ball and put it back into the container.
Ash and may left the apartment building and went into the village. The village in the Indigo Plautue hadn't changed much since the last time Ash and May were there. Most of the buildings and shops they saw the last time were still there.
The streets were packed with trainers and spectators who had come to see the champions tournament. Two of the restaurants Ash and May had wanted to go to were both full. As they walked by another restaurant they saw Red standing with another young man in the waiting area.
"Ash, May you guys made it" Red said sounding excited.
"Red I thought you'd be here". The other young man who was with Red looked about their age. He was wearing red tennis shoes, black jeans, a light blue jacket and a redhead with a black polka ball symbol in the center. He had light skin with brown eyes and brown hair that came out of the sides of his hat.
"Ash , May this is Hilbert he's competing in the champions tournament to". Ash and Hilbert shook hands.
"Pleasure to meet you Ash, Red's told me a lot about you". A woman behind the wait to be seated desk came up to Hilbert and said.
"Your table is ready".
"Is it possible we could seat two more?".
"Of course why this way". The four teenagers followed the waitress into the restaurant to set them down at a booth.
"Thanks guys, you wouldn't believe how packed some of these restaurants are".
"No problem, so Ash you've been training with Daniel Rian the world champion. That's very impressive".
"Thanks, by the way Hilbert where you from?".
"The Unova reigon , a few years ago I won the Pokémon league there. Also earlier this year I completed the battle frontier as well".
"Wait a minute, Hilbert I think I'm facing you tomorrow".
"I think you're right, well I guess I better study your every move so I know how you'll act in the battle" Hilbert joked.
The others had a quick laugh as the waitress came back to take their order. After they placed their order and the waitress left Ash took out the rest of Pikachu's food and poured into a bowl before setting it on the table. Red did the same as his Raichu climbed up onto the table.
"So May , Red tells me that you used to be a coordinator. What made you want to switch to becoming a trainer".
"I don't know I guess I was a coordinator for so long I thought it might be good experience to try out the other end of raising Pokémon".
"Not a bad idea, having experience as both a trainer and a coordinator will certainly give you a lot of skills other trainers won't have".
"So Hilbert were in Unova are you from?".
"Nuvema Town , I received my first Pokémon from Prof. Juniper".
"I remember her she's a very kind professor".
"She is, I owe a lot of my success to her training she taught me everything I needed to succeed as a Pokémon trainer. So ash what's it like to train with the greatest trainer in the world".
"Very exciting, there are so many things Daniel taught me that I never would've been able to do without him. The way he trains his Pokémon is unbelievable".
As the night progressed the four teenagers had dinner and then returned to their respective apartments. In their room Ash and May were both in bed with May already asleep. Her head was resting against Ash's chest as he thought about his match in the morning.
Ash was glad he had had a chance to meet Hilbert and get to know a bit about him before he faced him in a battle. Ash saw Pikachu sleep on the pillow above his head.
"Tomorrow I'll get to face some of the best trainers in the world. This is going to be awesome".
The following morning at 9 o'clock , Ash was in the Earth Stadium. The Earth Stadium was filled with large rocks and rough ground. Ash stood on one end of the stadium and Hilbert stood on the other end. In a private box at Daniel and Serena were watching the match with May Ash's family.
"This is it , time to see how far your training is gotten him".
"He saved Reduka and beat Cynthia, I'd say it's gotten him pretty far already".
"He's got this, I know he does".
The referee stepped to the center of the sidelines spoke. "This match will be a three on three battle. Each trainer will be allowed to substitute his Pokémon. Once all three of a trainer's Pokémon are knocked out the match will be over. Are both trainers ready?".
Ash and Hilbert both nodded as the ref through his flags down signaling the matches start. Ash took out a Pokéball and sent out his first Pokémon. "I choose you Torkoal!".
The local came out of his Pokéball and puffed out a cloud of smoke from his nostrils. "Go Krookodile". Hilbert's Krookodile came out and stomped his feet to the ground while snapping his jaws.
"Krookodile start off with sand tomb followed by sandstorm". Krookodile whipped up a small twister of sand that engulfed Torkoal. Once Torkoal was surrounded by sand tomb Krookodile whipped up a powerful sandstorm around them that blinded Torkoal.
Ash and Pikachu both smiled thinking "that's not going to work". Ash took a deep breath and his eyes began to glow blue. Moments later Torkoal's eyes glowed blue and he could see Krookodile clearly through his aura.
"Torkoal use flamethrower". Torkoal easily moved out of the sand tomb and blasted Krookodile with fire.
"What?".
"Incredible Ash's Torkoal was able to see through the sand and hit Krookodile", the announcer said.
" Krookodile use outrage".
"Torkoal use overheat". Krookodile gathered up his Dragon energy and unleashed it as Torkoal unleashed his most powerful fire type attack. The two attacks struggled to overpower the other for nearly a minute. Eventually the overheat blew through the outrage and hit Krookodile knocking them back several feet.
"Quickly Krookodile earthquake".
"Torkoal into your shell". Krookodile jumped up and smashed his feet into the ground creating an earthquake. Torkoal quickly got into his shell and tightened his defenses as the earthquake when past him.
"Use flamethrower".
"Krookodile dig". Krookodile quickly burrowed himself under ground towards Torkoal. Torkoal and Ash tried to feel the ground using Torkoal's now enhanced senses. Krookodile came up and smashed into the bottom of Torkoal's shell knocking him under his back.
"Oh no Torkoal!".
"Quickly before he can get up , use stone edge". Krookodile ripped large pieces of sharp stone out of the ground and hurled them like bullets into the weakest part of Torkoal's shell.
"Nice shot Krookodile, follow up with focus blast".
"Torkoal use fire blast". Torkoal quickly got back onto his feet and blasted Krookodile with the symbol shaped piece of buyer before he could reach Torkoal. After the impact Krookodile was knocked out cold.
"Krookodile is unable to battle".
"Great job Torkoal , get some rest" Ash returned Torkoal as Hilbert returned Krookodile.
"Very impressive Ash, but I'm far from beaten. Go Serperior".
Hilbert's Serperior came out and moved in front of him.
"I choose you Croconaw" Croconaw came out and snapped his jaws at Serperior as he slowly moved forward.
"A water type, very interesting choice. I'm going to make you regret that, Serperior use leaf blade".
"Croconaw use ice fang on the tail". Croconaw ran forward as his fangs got colder. Serperior slashed his tail at Croconaw but it got caught in the smaller Pokémon's mighty jaws and he felt pain shriek across his tail.
"Serperior use giga drain".
"Croconaw get back and then use ice beam".
Croconaw quickly moved back as Serperior tried to drain his energy.
"Blast him with leaf storm". Before Croconaw could use ice beam he was engulfed in a hurricane of leaves.
"Dam that Serperior is fast".
"Croconaw use blizzard" Croconaw unleashed a furious ice attack that throws all of the leaves around him causing him to drop straight to the ground. "Hit him with ice beam".
"Serperior fine with on his legs". Serperior quickly wrapped vines around Croconaw's legs and forced him onto his back making the ice beam miss.
"Croconaw use superpower". Croconaw growled and grabs the ground with his to paws. Using his immense strength he pulled Serperior forward with his own vines and smashed him in the center of his body with superpower. Serperior did not land as far away as Ash thought he would.
As soon as Serperior got up he wrapped himself around Croconaw and squeezed him tight. "Giga drain Serperior". Serperior began viciously draining away Croconaw's energy and replenishing his own.
"Don't let them do that Croconaw use ice fang". Croconaw bit down onto Serperior as hard as he could. It was at this time Ash and Pikachu realized Serperior had been taking in sunlight.
"Croconaw you have to break free now!". However, it was too late Serperior blasted Croconaw at point-blank range with solar beam knocking him out.
"Croconaw is unable to battle".
"Croconaw a return, you did a good job".
"Serperior excellent work, get some rest".
"That's one powerful Serperior, I really thought Ash had it".
"The match could still go either way but I think Ash still has the edge".
Ash and Hilbert took out the next pokeballs and sent out their next Pokémon.
"I choose you snorlax ".
"Let's do this Haxorus".
Snorlax and Haxorus came out of their Pokéball and stared each other down. "Haxorus use Dragon pulse".
"snorlax use body slam". Snorlax sprinted forward despite being hit with Dragon pulse. He slammed his massive weight into Haxorus knocking him to the ground.
"Haxorus get him off you , use Dragon tail". Haxorus smashed his tail into snorlax, forcing the large bear off of him. Snorlax stumbled backwards but managed to stay on his feet.
"Haxorus use dragon claw".
"snorlax use chip away". The two Pokémon charged forward and collided with each other. Haxorus tried to slash snorlax, but snorlax grabbed Haxoru's arms and held him in place as the two struggled to overpower the other.
Eventually both Pokémon managed to hit the other with their attack and were both knocked back a few feet. Snorlax and Haxorus were both breathing deeply as they tried to prepare for the next attack.
"Snorlax use giga impact".
"Haxorus use giga impact".
The two Pokémon sprinted forward as fast as they could gaining momentum. When they collided snorlax and Haxorus were knocked unconscious.
"Both Pokémon are unable to battle, the winner is the winner of this match is Ash Ketchum".
The audience broke out into an uproar of applause as Ash and Hilbert returned their Pokémon.
"You did awesome Snorlax ,I'm so proud of you ".
"Haxorus you gave it your all, I can ask anyone of you".
"I knew he'd win, all that training with you Daniel is made him the best trainers in the competition".
Serena looked over at Red and said silently "not the best".
Ash and Hilbert shook hands at the center of the Stadium.
"That was a really good match Hilbert you did great".
"Thanks Ash gave me the best match of my life. I'll need to do some more training , then you owe me a rematch".
"I'll be there", "Pika".
