I'm always into dimension and time travelling plot. Higurashi Naku Koro Ni is the first I watched, Clannad, after that the recent Persona 4.

Imagine if one can achieve so many endings. I had posted up an one-shot of a possible ending, and another one will be up before or after Chapter 25. That one-shot I feel will be a major spoiler for the true ending later. What do you think the true ending for this story is like?

Chapter 24: The Ultimate Evolution

"Where are we?" Hikari asked in confusion.

"The world of information." Koushirou replied. "All of us were broken into data."

"Broken down? Can we reverse it?" Mimi cried in panic.

"What will happen to us?" Jou asked.

"Are we finished?" Takeru wondered.

"This is the first time this had happened to us?" Sora commented.

"Have we lost? Is everything over?" Yamato muttered in shock.

"Don't give up, Chosen Children." The Chosen Children raised their heads up. A Fla Wizarmon materialised before them.

"Who are you? You resembled a Wizarmon." Hikari asked.

"There were many times you thought it was over but you guys manage to fight through it." Fla Wizarmon ignored Hikari and continued.

"But we have been disintegrated into data!" Sora protested. "Forget about defeating Apocalymon, we don't know if we can even turn back into human."

"You don't know if you can even turn back into human when you have turned back into human before?" Fla Wizarmon questioned Sora.

"Even if we can, we can't make them evolve further. Our enemy is an Ultimate!" Jou pulled his hair.

"This had never happened before." Koushirou stared at his hand.

"Of course, it hasn't. Not in this dimension." Fla Wizarmon stated the obvious. "Did you always know how to win in all the battles you have faced?"

Koushirou was tongue-tied.

"There's always a lot of first time, whether in adventure or in life. You guys never know what you have to do. You guys never know about Digimon initially to the time you truly bonded with your partner and stick through all the obstacles. No matter how hard the obstacle you have been facing, you guys never gave up. " Fla Wizarmon continued.

"Yes, we have experienced a lot over the years. Not even textbook can teach us." Jou agreed. Because of these experiences, Jou was determined to become a doctor. It was his choice. Not an obligation.

"There were things I didn't like and things made me cry but I'm glad to be friends with Palmon and the others." Mimi added, recalling her meeting with Palmon, their adventure, her interaction with the juniors and making a fool of a bewildered Taichi. Mimi was happy. She had become stronger because she met them.

"Yeah, because I met Patamon, I understand how important it is to fight." Takeru recalled how Patamon was always the last to reach the next level. Never look down on them though. The best was always left to the last.

"I was always engrossed with my laptop and never concerned about my surrounding. It's until I met Tentomon and all of you, I began to notice my surrounding, my parents, my friends." Koushirou became the strategist even though he was not the main fighting force since Daisuke and the rest were chosen.

"Sora is always sweet and concerned for everyone. That's what we…" Yamato shook his head. "I like about you." Yamato blushed.

"Yamato…" Sora blushed as well. There was no need for words. They read each other mind.

"We can't be defeated here. Not after all we have been through. Oniichan will not want that." Hikari closed her eyes. If they were to lose, they should not even have started this adventure and Taichi and Wizarmon's sacrifice would have been in vain.

"We will not be who we are today without what we have been through." Koushirou realized.

"Because we have friends, we understood the importance of helping each other out." Sora added.

"We're able to stay true to ourselves." Yamato continued.

"We can't let things end here." Takeru said.

"We can't let our adventure, sacrifice be in vain." Hikari turned to Takeru and nodded.

"For the sake of our family and friends waiting for us." Mimi turned to Jou.

"We can't look back anymore!" Jou finished.

"We won't let the light within our heart die out." Hikari declared.

Fla Wizarmon smiled. He was proud of them. No matter what kind of fate was dealt to them, they were not giving up. And the Crest reappeared in their chest which caught them by surprise. Their Crest should either become a Holy Stone or destroyed by now.

"The symbols of your crest were actually symbols of your hearts." Fla Wizarmon explained. Koushirou understood. Just like the knowledge inside him and Jou's sincerity. If they continued to act upon the special qualities of their hearts, they did not even need their crests nor even external support from Qinglongmon's Digicore.

"No! It isn't the friendship within me that started glowing, all your friendship gathered inside me, that caused my crest of friendship to glow!" Yamato said.

"One crest is for everyone, everyone's crest is for one!" Fla Wizarmon threw up the Golden Crest of Miracle who glowed.

"With your unwavering faith, all your wishes will come true. Take it, Yagami Taichi!" Taichi who was kneeling before Apocalymon had heard everything. He had never been through the Vault, he had never truly experience what other Taichi had been through to force him to give up. He was unable to hold the Crest of Darkness which never appeared in his world. And so, he was able to grasp the Miracle which shone on him.

"Human and Digimon with the common ideal, we desire a peaceful world. True. There are difference between us between the way of living and power. Which one of us doesn't have weaknesses? That was why we have friends, we form a team and partnership, to cover each other weaknesses and grow stronger together. My wish now is to defeat you and correct the flow of time and events to each and every dimension!" Taichi made a wish on the key which appeared. The brightness blinded even Apocalymon.

The partner Digimon in trance glowed. The human data remerged within the gulf of light.

"My light within me is for everyone!" Hikari declared.

"Tailmon warp evolve… Orphanimon!" A female Angel Digimon appeared before Hikari caused her to gape in awe watching. Tailmon evolved into her Ultimate level. This was the second time she evolved into Orphanimon. Her wings were glowing brighter than ever before.

"It had to be the work of Wisemon, no, Taichi who reconstructed my wings." Orphanimon explained.

"That's right. Once your mind is cleared of your doubt, your partner will be able to evolve to her truest and purest form like the Digimon Emperor of the past." Imperialdramon explained XV-mon's experience.

"Hikari in other dimension had never experience as much darkness and despair like you did. She'll never be able to achieve what you did as she had yet to face darkness and despair like you. Light and darkness were on par with one another, the brighter the light, the darker the shadow will be."

"You may be right." Hikari looked down in shame. She stole a glance at Ken in guilt. Ken shook his head in understanding. They understood each other.

"I'm sorry for everything, Ichijouji-kun."

The other Hikari must be worried for her brother. They could not afford to fail in their mission.

"Everyone's hope is my hope!" Takeru nodded.

"Patamon warp evolve… Seraphimon."

"Now they look like a pair." Ken teased Daisuke who was a little annoyed. Not that he could get Imperialdramon to change into an UltraAngemon now. A Dragon Knight looked much cooler in his own way.

The rest of the Digimon managed to evolve into their highest form. The form when they met their partners when they received their sign of friendship. MetalGarurumon, Hououmon, HerakleKabuterimon, Rosemon and Vikemon reemerged at the same time after many eras.

It looked impressive indeed.

"It's my turn. Taichi is waiting! Agumon warp evolve… WarGreymon!" WarGreymon emerged with a new brave shield appeared as his new pair of wings at his back. It was a golden and shiny armour with a symbol of Miracle on it. WarGreymon was impressed.

Fla Wizarmon smiled and faded into the light. He appeared in his form as Yuuki briefly. "Good luck, Chosen Children. I have faith in your victory!"

Apocalymon was shocked when all the dissipated human and Digimon snapped out of their trance reappeared before him as the glow died down.

"We're not going to let your wish come true!" Taichi stood up and made his proclamation.

"Impossible! How did you evolve?"

"Never underestimate us, Chosen Children." Yamato said. Confidence surged through them. They could win this.

"Got that?" Taichi replied despite requiring a lot of strength. He was proud of them. "Let's get him!" He threw his fist up to the air.

"Die!" Apocalymon just could not believe it.

"Viking Flail!" Vikemon was the first to launch his attack on Apocalymon. They finally reached Ultimate after so many eras. They could never lose. Apocalymon's claw broke.

"Leave the claws to us!" Jou decided since it was effective.

"Let's help them, Rosemon!" Mimi wanted to join in.

"Roses Rapier!" Rosemon whipped off another claw catching Mimi skillfully after tossing her aside.

"You're horrible." Mimi cried. Rosemon winked. After all, she was Mimi's Digimon partner.

"Take this chance to attack his main body!" Jou ordered.

"Jou-senpai, Mimi-chan, danger!" Sora cried. Apocalymon sent another set of claws to attack them.

"Seven Heavens!"

"Sefirot Crystal!"

Orphanimon and Seraphimon managed to stop the claw from attacking Jou and Mimi.

"Leave the protection to us." Takeru said.

"Take care of other claw." Hikari added. She was still amazed by the new shining golden wings of Orphanimon.

"Alright, let's go Taichi!" Yamato called out to the younger boy who nodded.

"Full speed ahead!"Taichi ordered.

"We'll support Taichi and Yamato." Koushirou and Sora came from the back riding on their partners.

"Damn you!" Apocalymon cursed.

"Crimson Flare!"

"Mugen Cannon!"

"Giga Blaster!" HerakleKabuterimon took down the attack before it hits Hououmon and Sora.

"Thank you!" Sora was grateful.

Apocalymon was really pissed off. He had made so much preparation to stop the Chosen Children yet they could still come up with a counterattack. It had to be the works of the Crest of Miracle the boy had used to make a wish with. Apocalymon glared at Taichi whose face was ghastly white.

"Finish him off!" Taichi shouted.

"Take this!" Yamato was getting pumped up.

"Cocytus Breath!" MetalGarurumon fired from his mouth.

"Gaia Force!" WarGreymon combined his attack which was four times stronger than his usual with MetalGarurumon. Explosion occurred and Apocalymon cried out in pain. His main body was deleted.

"We have taken you down. Give it up!" Taichi yelled. "You know how it will end!"

"Did you think you have won? I was told of the future. Maybe we'll perish but we'll not leave quietly. We'll drag you and this world down with us!" The remnant of Apocalymon was preparing to fire his finishing blow.

"Oh no!" Taichi realized. Apocalymon was going along with what he did in the past in his dimension. That was unexpected. He was going to self-destruct. However, before he could even do that, a white sword pierce through his body which cut it down into two.

"Omega Blade!" A ninth Digimon appeared behind him.

"I'm sorry. It's not going to be the end…

"…Because tomorrow is waiting for us." Another two boys materialized along with him.

"Daisuke, Ken!" Taichi called out in excitement. They were surely something neither Apocalymon nor him expected.

"Damn you!" Apocalymon cried as he was deleted by the finishing blow by Imperialdramon Paladin Mode. He laughed sinisterly.

"Yagami Taichi, you can't run away from your fate, you shall perish with us no matter which dimension you came from hahahaha! That's your curse to yourself." Taichi raised his Digivice without another word. He would seal him with his own hand so that he would not be able to revive again.

"Let me help!" Ken raised his D3.

Meanwhile Miyako was staring at Jenrya holding up his D-Ark. The three of them who came from different dimensions would work together one last time. The light engulfed the reconfigured Digiegg which from the deleted Apocalymon. They were fighting hard holding their Digivices with both hands with determination.

"SEALING COMPLETED!" They yelled in unison. Gods knew where his Digiegg would be when there Digivices from different dimensions done their job.

It was all over. The ten Chosen Children returned to the Real World.

"Taichi-san!" The twins ran over to greet him. Even though they were from different world, the fact that they had gone through thick and thin together could not be changed. This Taichi was confused as he had never met them officially until now. It was the other Taichi who took care of them when they first arrived in this world.

Taichi shuddered as pain whacked his body. He just got to bear with it.

"Taichi, are you alright?" WarGreymon asked in concern. Taichi nodded hiding his bloodied hand under his robe. Hikari watched Taichi anxiously. She could not bear to see him go.

Taichi's body began to glow.

"It's time, isn't it, Jen?" Lopmon asked.

"Yeah." Jenrya's body started to glow along with Impmon and the twins.

A portal of light opened up in the sky. They were floating to the air.

"We're all going home. For the short time, thank you for taking care of us." Jenrya shouted at Ken and Daisuke. Daisuke was beaming in tears. Wallace was leaving. Daisuke never realized that he came from a different world and he came from the dimension Ryo or the leader he fought along with, Matsuda Takato came from.

"Thank you for helping us, Impmon, Kouharu, Aizuki!" Tailmon yelled to the sky as they three of them waved at her.

"Thanks for remember to thank me." Impmon grinned. It was a short time here but it was fulfilling. He had found his partners after many years of searching.

"Thank you, Taichi, for saving Gabumon!" Yamato raised his voice. Taichi nodded in response. Thanks to Mimi, he did not cause Yamato to suffer the same fate as the one from his dimension did. It was a consolation thanks for Mimi's reminder. Mimi and Palmon were watching in tears on the ground. Mimi was sad, so was Palmon.

"Mimi, I'm sorry." Taichi had let Mimi of his dimension down for leaving without a word. Taichi did not hold much hope staring at his bloodied hand. He had made his wish and he would live with it.

"Taichi-san, thank you for helping us!" Koushirou shouted. Without Taichi, perhaps they could never win. Tentomon nodded.

"Take care Taichi!" Jou and Gomamon waved.

"Taichi, live on!" That was the only thought Sora had in mind after hearing that this Taichi had never died after the battle with Piemon. As long as he keep it up, he might be able to avert the fate of Taichi of their own.

"Taichi-san, fight!" Miyako wiped her tears. Hawkmon flew beside her. She had admired Taichi of her world when she first met him for his charm. She wished she had got to know more about him.

"Let's meet again, dagyaa!" Iori and Armadimon shouted in unison. Great minds think alike.

"Oniichan!" It was a familiar scene when Hikari was grabbing Taichi's hand many years ago.

"Oniichan, take care!" Hikari was crying but she had to let his hands she was trying to grab go. The other Hikari needed him. Takeru took her into his arms as Taichi stared at them with tears welling up his eyes. No matter which dimension, Hikari was still his precious sister.

"Taichi-san, never lose hope!" Takeru glared at him in fury with Patamon trying to calm him down. Taichi was amused by an angered Takeru. Most probably his friends must be mad at him.

"Goodbye, everyone!" Jenrya shouted. Impmon, Terriermon and Lopmon waved.

"Bye bye!" Aizuki and Kouharu smiled at each other as their form reverted to how Ai and Mako looked like in their real age at 9.

"There's an Annual General Meeting, we will meet again." V-mon shouted before the gate closed.

"I'm sorry. The gates which run through the dimensions are closed for the peace of all our world." Taichi averted his eyes away from Jenrya who wanted to strangle him as Wallace's personality took over briefly. They were unable to reach each other as they disappeared back to their respective worlds to face whatever was waiting for them.

Hikari broke down into Takeru's arms after watching Taichi disappearing back to his own world.

"Chosen Children and Digimon. You did great!" A voice was heard.

"Gennai-san." Koushirou greeted turning to his direction. Gennai finally appeared after going missing in action when they needed him. Even so, they made it out all right. Koushirou wanted to share with him his excitement when he frowned as he noticed Gennai did not seem to be happy for them at all. His eyes were filled with guilt.

"I'll like to speak to the partner Digimon." Gennai said solemnly. Suddenly, Hikari's scream caught their attention.

"Blood?" Hikari was horrified to see blood on her trembling hand which was not her own.

"Oniichan, what happened to you?" She muttered in disbelief. She was really worried now. She was afraid something bad had happened to Taichi.

Taichi could vaguely hear Hikari's voice as he was floating to the direction of the light. He was going back to his own dimension where he belonged.
