Jamie

OMFG! Logan is such a boring teacher! Sure, he was tough and kept most of the boys in line but history. Was. So. Boring! I focused my gaze on my hand and flexed my fingers. A white ring tinged in black glowed to life around my hand. Blowing up a bubble of bubblegum, I studied my power ring. It was so pretty. Someone coughed. "Jamie." I looked up, startled. The rest of the class was staring at me and Logan had his arms crossed over his flannel shirt. He was frowning. Blushing like hell, I put out my ring. The bell rang signaling the end of the boredom. People started to stuff notes and binders in their backpacks and making their way to their next class. "Ok class, remember to study the peace convention of 1973 tonight." Logan called out over the rumble of students. I stood up to gather my stuff. Logan called out again. "Miss. Wodd, see me after class." I rolled my eyes.

I shoved my books in my bag and threw my pink hair off my shoulders. I walked over to his desk as he finished talking to another student. He turned to me.

"What?" I asked, popping my gum. He raised an eyebrow as he shifted through the papers on his desk.

"You've been distracted lately. What's up?" I snorted and fixed my pink tank top.

"I don't think that's any of your-"

"Jamie." He cut me off with a stern look. "You know that I don't like most of my students. You are an exception." He sat down and pulled open a draw in his desk and started rustling through it. "I'm here to help you, Jamie." I looked down. It was true that Logan didn't necessarily like all of his students but he had made an effort to make me feel welcome here. I sighed and looked up to see him light a cigar. I smirked.

"You shouldn't smoke, sir." He gave me a sideways look.

"And what's it to you, Miss. Wodd?" I looked down then looked back up again, smiling.

"Nothing sir." I sighed. "It's just, I'm supposed to get a roommate today and we had that nasty girl transfer here yesterday and she's not the nicest to bump into in the hallway and finals are in three weeks and i'm just tired." He nodded and pulled the cigar out of his mouth.

"I understand. What's wrong with a roommate?" I shot him a look. He shrugged. "I mean that I'm not the best with people but what's wrong about it to you?" I shrugged.

"I don't know. She's supposed to be like super strong or something but she's only like 15."

"Don't you live on the same floor as the seven year old with like two extra eyes." I nodded. "And what's the beef with the new girl." I rolled my eyes.

"At her old school she was abously more popular than she is here. She thinks she queen bee. But she's really just an ass." He nodded honestly. He was my only teacher who didn't care that I cussed.

"Well, kid. I really don't know what to say about the roommate thing. Just meet her and figure what you think. On the new girl front, cuss her out and if she still gives you trouble let me know. As for finals and sleep. Actually study and you'll have an excuse for being tired." I laughed.

"Thanks Logan. I'll let you know about the roommate thing. You should have bitchy chick in one of your classes and I guess I'll actually study instead of watching Billie Piper concerts." He nodded and sighed and he ground his cigar into his ash tray.

"Good. Now get to class before your late." I turned to go and made it to the door when he called to me.

"Here!" He tossed something at me and I caught it at the last second. It was a pack of gum. I smiled.

"Thanks Logan." Then I ran out of the class room and toward Mr. McCoy's science class.
