Chapter 25: The Dragon Sanctuaries – Part 1
Author's Note: Well, it's been several weeks since my last chapter. The reason being is that I've been busy with my YouTube Channel. Just look up ShadowSteel18 on YouTube and my channel will pop up. I currently only do Let's Plays, but over time I'm going to post vlogs and some Source Filmmaker content. Anyway on to the chapters.
Last chapter I left off on the edge of a lemon scene. So for those of you that have been waiting that'll be the first thing that you'll be reading in this chapter.
After that the bulk of the chapter will consist of setting up many of the later stories and a few of the side-stories. The idea of the Dragon Sanctuaries came from "How to Train Your Dragon 2" with Valka's appearance and the whole Alpha deal. I want to use the second movie as much as possible but the fact that it changed a whole bunch of crap that I had set up this was all I could use.
Next is Camicazi's role in this entire story. She was meant to be part of a side-story that I was going to write that featured her and Hiccup. It was supposed to mimic some of the adventures that they had had in the books. Sadly the idea fell flat when in the last chapter I barely used her at all.

Arthur had no idea what to say, but Alexandria had a feeling that Astrid hadn't killed her first child. She just had a feeling like she did not kill the very child she had been carrying for nearly three months.
Alexandria walked over to Astrid and Hiccup. She was just about to tell them what she thought when a massive headache hit her like a ton of bricks. She suddenly collapsed on her knees and head her forehead in pain. "Alexandria! What's wrong?" Arthur asked. Alexandria didn't say a word forma few seconds before the headache went away. "I'm fine now. I just don't know what happened," she said.
Hiccup and Astrid looked at each other then over to Alexandria. They knew she had an extraordinary ability to help people with their relationships. They knew that she had this innate ability to either help prevent or conceive children. So they knew that Alexandria had probably seen something that had to do with them.
"I'm guessing you had some sort of vision, huh?" Camicazi asked. This statement surprised everyone. Hiccup and Astrid had no idea whether Camicazi had overheard something dealing with Alexandria or not. "What are you talking about?" Astrid asked.
Camicazi looked over to Astrid. She gave a soft smile and began to try and explain. "It's not like I heard of this happening before. It's just that she may be a shaman," she said. Hiccup rolled his eyes as Camicazi tried to explain her reasoning for this. Astrid and Alexandria also were also little put off by this. They had no reason to believe that Alexandria had the abilities of a shaman.
Arthur on the other hand had a sneaking suspicion that Camicazi was right and that her connection with the spirit world was the reason Rebecca was here. "I don't know. She may be right," he said. Hiccup looked over to Arthur. He was about to speak when Alexandria interrupted him. "Why don't we get everything and everyone cleaned up before we continue," she said. Everyone looked at each other and agreed.

Meanwhile out in the village Rebecca was trying to help some of the people of Berk rebuild. Though everyone that she tried to help was a little apprehensive about getting near her. Everyone didn't like the fact that Rebecca was completely different to them and as a result Rebecca couldn't really help anyone. After awhile Rebecca just gave up and went over to the Great Hall.
Once she got inside she noticed that Stoick, Gobber, and Maria were talking in an important manner. At first she didn't want to barge in, but as she went over to a table to sit down Maria took notice. While Stoick was in the middle of taking Maria began to make her way toward Rebecca. Stoick of course was a little upset by this but when he heard what Maria said he had a feeling what she was trying to do.
"Excuse me. Do you have a minute?" she asked. Rebecca looked over and nodded. She was obviously a little depressed. She really didn't want to talk with anyone at the moment, but she felt like she had to. "Watda ya need?" she asked. Maria laughed as Rebecca stood up and faced Maria. She knew that Rebecca was from another time period. So as a result she knew that Rebecca has knowledge of the Dragon Sanctuaries.
"Do you know anything about Dragons?" she asked. Rebecca nodded and went over to her bag. She then pulled out the Book of Dragons and showed it to her. "I read it a few times. The stuff that's been translated to English anyway," she said. Maria then started to flip through the book. As she did so she immediately noticed the various languages written in the book. Latin and Old Norse seemed to be the most prominent but a few of others seemed to pop up every so often.
Maria handed the book back to Rebecca. After a brief pause Maria asked, "Has this been passed down in the family?" Rebecca shook her head and took the book back from Maria. "No I got it at a market that, well, sells old stuff," she said. Maria smiled and started to quietly laugh. She knew that Rebecca was trying to keep her real identity a secret. "It's fine you can say what it really is," she said.
Rebecca was a little nervous when Maria suggested that to her. She knew from what she had seen from movies and TV shows that doing something like this would cause trouble in the end. "I'm not sure I can," she said. Maria smiled and placed her and on her shoulder. She had a feeling that Rebecca didn't want to share because of the fact that she was in the past. "It's okay. I not going to get scared or start to ask too many questions," she said.
Rebecca rolled her eyes and looked away from her. "It's the questions I'm worried about," she mumbled. Maria didn't hear this of course but she could tell that Rebecca was still trying to protect her own time period. It was understandable to her that Rebecca was trying her best not to cause trouble and help. She knew that the roundabout way that she was going about asking her the thing she needed to ask wasn't working. "Do you know anything about Dragon Sanctuaries?" she asked.
Rebecca looked back over to Maria. She was a little surprised by the question. She had not paid any attention to the conversation that Maria, Stoick, and Gobber were having and as a result didn't know why Maria had walked up to her in the first place. "Yeah a little bit. I can't say much about them though," she said.
At this point Stoick decided to get involved with the conversation. "Do you know anything about them, yes or no?" he asked in a stern voice. Rebecca immediately reacted strongly to this. She knew that Stoick was the chief of the tribe, but he still had no right to speak to a guest like that. "There is plenty written about them in the Book of Dragons, but that's your own son," she said.
Gobber then jumped in with his usual charm. "She's right ya know. We can't rely on her to give us any information," he said. Maria nodded and turned back to Rebecca. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you anything," she said. Rebecca smiled and placed the Book of Dragons back in her bag. She then turned to Maria and the one question she needed to ask. "By the way, why do you guys want to know about the Dragon Sanctuaries?"
Maria turned to Stoick. For him it was hard to deal with the fact that Valka may actually be dead. Though she herself was a interested whether or not Valka had survived been taken by a dragon, she didn't want to find her bones ripped apart.
"Stoick here thinks that Valka is still alive," Gobber said. Rebecca looked over to Stoick. The expression on her face showed just how she felt about the whole thing. "I'm sorry. I didn't know," she said. Stoick sighed and walked back over to the table he and Maria were talking at. He could tell by the tone of Rebecca's voice that she had lost somebody from her family that she cared about as well.
"I know how you feel. For months I didn't know if my dad was alive or dead. But when I found out I felt content that he died loving me 'til the very end," Rebecca said. Maria and Gobber looked at each other and Stoick turned over to Rebecca. "You're right. Maybe I'm a little stressed out by everything that's been happening lately. Maybe I need to relax," he said.
Gobber walked over to Stoick and gave him a hardy pat to the back with his good hand. "It has been ah bit stressful around Berk," he chuckled. Stoick nodded and turned to Maria. He was thankful for all her help to this point. He didn't know if Valka was still alive, but if she was he had to thank Maria in some way.
"I can tell you this about the Dragon Sanctuaries, there are plenty of them in this area for Hiccup and Astrid to discover," Rebecca said. Maria looked over to her in a confused manner. She had no idea that there were so many of these Dragon Sanctuaries around the inner isles. Gobber looked over to Stoick and began to laugh. "Knowing yer son he'll be explorin' the other islands in no time," he chuckled.

Back at the watchtower Hiccup and Astrid were trying to figure out what had happened to Alexandria. She had had a massive headache and was now acting as if nothing had happened. Camicazi and Arthur both believed that Alexandria was a shaman. While Hiccup, Astrid, and Alexandria believed otherwise.
"You really think I might be a shaman?" Alexandria asked. Arthur nodded and looked over to Camicazi. "There is no doubt that you have some abilities that only shaman's have," Camicazi said. Hiccup rolled his eyes. He had no reason to believe that Alexandria was a shaman. "Then how do you explain the visions that me and Astrid have had?" he asked.
Camicazi thought about it for a second. "To be honest, I don't know," she said. She then turned over to Arthur, thinking that he would be in the same boat. To her surprised Arthur started to explain what he thought of the whole situation. "Maybe she has an influence of those she comes 'in contact' with," he said.
"What do you mean?" Astrid asked. Almost immediately Alexandria began to blush and right away Hiccup know why. "You told him didn't you?" he asked. Astrid looked right over to Alexandria as she began to nod. "Y-Yeah. It was our first time together and I was a little confused on why I was still a Virgin," she said.
At this point Astrid began to blush as well. She knew exactly what Alexandria was talking about. The whole experience was a little embarrassing for her. Back then she was just starting her relationship with Hiccup so when Alexandria began to explain that she had had sex with the two of them before it was a little embarrassing for her.
"Anyway, I think that the reason you guys were seeing the things you saw was because Alexandria has a special gift that she is able to share," Arthur said. The more Arthur began to explain about his theory the more Hiccup started to see how it could work out. Hiccup could see that there was a very strong possibility that Alexandria had a very strong influence with those she has a relationship with.
"So have you had some of these visions?" Camicazi asked. Arthur nodded and turned to Alexandria. "Just two weeks after we started dating I saw what I believe to be a young boy in a large building filled with all sorts of things," he said.
"Were they old looking?" a voice asked from the door. Everyone turned to the front door and saw that Rebecca standing there. No one had heard her open the door and all of them were a little confused on why she had asked the question. "Yeah. Why do you ask?" Arthur said. Rebecca smiled and began to make her way toward the group.
She then sat down next to Camicazi who was fidgeting a little bit. "That's one of my good friends, James," Rebecca said. She then turned to Camicazi and asked her if she was okay. Camicazi looked over to Rebecca with a little of concern in her eyes. "What? Oh sorry, I wasn't paying attention," she said.
Rebecca then looked over to Arthur. She was a little curious on what his relationship to her friend James was. "So his name is James, huh?" Arthur asked. Rebecca nodded. She then began to explain who James was and how she got to know him. "He and I are the only ones that have dragons in the whole state," she said.
"I find that hard to believe," Camicazi said. Arthur and Alexandria nodded in agreement, but just Hiccup and Astrid smiled. They had seen the world that Rebecca came from and knew just how rare dragons were. "I can believe that," Hiccup chuckled. Rebecca began laughing and agreed with them. This of course surprised Alexandria, Camicazi, and Arthur. "What do you mean you can believe that?" Camicazi asked.
Hiccup smiled and began to lean back on the bench. For him the disappearance of dragons was a mystery that he wanted to solve. "I've seen things, you wouldn't believe," he said. Arthur and Alexandria were a little shocked by this statement, while Camicazi was a little uneasy. Rebecca started to get up and walk over to the fire that was burning in the fire pit.
As she poked at the fire Camicazi had a sense that Rebecca was a holding back. Hiccup on the other hand knew that Rebecca was a little upset about the disappearance of dragons. She was obviously a descendent of his. "I know it must be a little overwhelming to be the only dragon tamer in you generation," he said. Camicazi sighed and looked over at Hiccup.
"Is she really the only dragon tamer of her generation?" she asked. Rebecca turned over to Camicazi and gave her a wry smile. Hiccup saw this and could immediately see that a bit of Astrid's personality had come through. "I could be, but I haven't met any other just yet," Rebeca said. Camicazi was left a little confused as Rebecca began to laugh.
Hiccup looked of to Astrid and gave her a calming smile. "She acts a lot like you," he said. Astrid rolled her eyes and sighed. "She also acts like you a little bit," she said. Hiccup chuckled and nodded in agreement.
It was then that Rebecca turned to Hiccup and Astrid. She had remembered what she had talked about with Maria and began to wonder if Hiccup knew any more about it. "Hey Hiccup, do you know anything about Dragon Sanctuaries?" she asked. Hiccup looked over to Rebecca with a bit of confusion.
He had heard Maria and his father talk about the existence of Dragon Sanctuaries, but he never learn anything from them. He was interested in finding one and learning everything there was to know about it. "Not really, no," he said. "I've heard about them from Maria, but I've never been to one." Rebecca smiled and just nodded. She knew that Hiccup had never been to one of the Dragon Sanctuaries. The only thing that she didn't know was whether or not some of the stuff in the Book of Dragons were true.
She went over to her dragon, Pacifica, and pulled out the Book of Dragon. She then started to flip through the pages until she found a page on the Dragon Sanctuaries. She then looked up at Hiccup and began to ask a couple of question. "So you haven't been to one of the Dragon Sanctuaries?" she asked. Hiccup shook his head. "I would like to see one, but I haven't been to one," he said.
Rebecca then looked closely at one of the pages then looked back at Hiccup. She then gave him one of the biggest smile he had never seen. "Are you willing to try and find one of these Dragon Sanctuaries?" she asked. Hiccup thought about this and answered honestly with a simple nod of the head.
Rebecca then closed the Book of Dragons and started to walk over to the door. She then turned back toward the group and gestured to the door. "I can help you guys find one of many of these Dragon Sanctuaries," she said. Hiccup looked over to Astrid and the others. This was the opportunity that he couldn't refuse. As he looked over to the others Astrid smiled and took him by the hand.
"If you're going to go out and find this Dragon Sanctuary then I'm coming too," she said. Hiccup looked over at Astrid. He then gave her a peck on the forehead. "Thank you Astrid," he said. He then turned back to Rebecca and smiled. Rebecca knew that the two of them would find the first Dragon Sanctuary very easily. It was just a matter of how and when.

Author's Note: Well, now that I've been active on my YouTube Channel, I'll be submitting chapters on a more sporadically than ever. I hope to submit the next chapter in the next few weeks. As a result I won't be submitting videos on a sporadic bases.
