Fang pov

I can't believe her! I mean, things were going great! Everyone was getting along perfectly fine and I just-. What am I supposed to do? I like Max a lot, she's so cool and pretty and almost always a good girlfriend, but her getting so jealous is infuriating. I guess I shouldn't have taken off, but now I'm all sticky after she dumped her drink on my head.
"Oooooh! In the car door!" I hear Iggy shouting as I land on my balcony.
"How was your date dude? It's not even 10 yet." Iggy says, stretching out on my bean bag chair.
"Whatever." I grumble. "You can stay."
"Thanks!" He shouts.
"I just can't believe her! She got so jealous and she was spying on me when I went to pick up Angel!" I ramble. I took off my shirt while talking and I'm about to take my jeans off when I turn.
"Uh, Fang..?" Emily blushes and turns.
"Wow, never knew you were so open with your body." Sarah laughs. I get mad all over again.
"This is all your fault! If you hadn't put ideas into Max's head, she wouldn't be like this!" I'm yelling.
"Fang! What the hell are you talking about?" Sarah stands up and puts her hands on her hips.
"You! You and Katie! You're always telling Max to do this or that! You probably told her to spy on me!" I was ready to hit her.
"Hey! You shouldn't have just driven off with Hannah. Think about it. She's a cute British change. Max had a reason to be jealous." Emily pipes up.
"Shut up! It was your freaking car I saw! I thought you were supposed to be the good one. Yeah right! Little innocent blonde. When you're actually a stupid, bitchy, annoyance." I wish I could take the words back as soon as they are out of my mouth. And before I can apologize, Sarah's hand print is bright red on my face. I turn to see her crying and Emily's ponytail disappears out the door.
"How dare you?! That's my best friend! You can insult me as much as you want. It was my idea. But Emily! Of all people! How could you say something so cruel?! What happened with you and Max?" Sarah shouts.
"That's enough." Iggy says running after Emily.
"No. Spill before I make you." Sarah demands.
"Max was dishonest, she was jealous, she was rude, she... I just don't know. But she poured Coke all over my face." I can't believe this is happening.
I sit down and hang my head. Sarah pauses the TV.
"Hannah has been trying to get you. I heard Lissa talking about it. She said that Hannah was plotting with her to steal you from Max. She was with me. That's why. She was scared of losing you." Sarah says quietly.
"No, no, no, no, no, no. This can't happen, not now." Why is it when everything is going great, something like this has to happen?
"Dude, maybe we can talk to Alois about it." Iggy suggests re-entering the room.
"Yeah sure." Honestly, I don't want to talk to anyone.
"Where's Emily?" Sarah asks Iggy.
"Outside, waiting in her car." Iggy sighs.
"See you Monday." Sarah says, turning out of the room. "I'm gonna take Emily home. Bye Fang."
"Hey..." Iggy starts, but then he follows her.
I'm sitting alone in my room, wondering what in the hell went so wrong. Wishing I had left with Max so we could talk. Thinking that I forgot to apologize to Emily.

Max pov

After Fang left, I paid the waitress for our drinks and followed him. I guess he'll pick up his car tomorrow. How did this go so wrong? I don't even want to go home because Fang might see me. Yeah, I definitely overreacted when I poured my drink over his head. But hey, he kinda needed to cool off. I'm wondering what I should do when my cell rings.
"Hey, come over okay?" I hear Emily plead.
"I don't really want to." I sigh while grabbing my wallet.
"We know what happened, please." Emily says quietly.
"Who's we?" I question.
"Iggy, Sarah, and me. Katie is coming over. You can tell her if you want to."
"Fine. But where's Ruth?" Some girl time to cry may just be what I need.
"On a date. Hey, thanks." She hangs up.
I fly to her house. I guess I'll just borrow some of her clothes. I just can't go home yet, so I call my mom to tell her.
"Hey Max!" Katie yells when she sees me.
"Hey Katie!" I remember that she doesn't know. Weird, I would think that Sarah would have told her. But then again, you have to give them some credit.
It starts to rain and Sarah and Emily come out, followed by Iggy. Huh? Emily shoots me a look and then smiles at the other girls.
"Chinese good?" She asks.
"You bet!" Katie says.
"I actually ate before coming." I say.
"How'd your date go, Max?" Katie asked.
"Meh." I replied. That was an understatement.
"Come on in! Oh Scout!" Emily said, referring to her dog, who was currently jumping on his hind legs.
"What's Iggy doing here?" I whisper to Sarah.
"Well, I just like totally needed some girl time! I mean seriously! I need to talk about it with my girlfriends." Iggy says in an annoying girl falsetto. All of us just kind if stare...
"Jk, I don't wanna go home. Hey I'm blind."
"What the heck," Katie shrugs.
"Cool! Thanks guys." Iggy says.
"Yeah, just don't talk like that." Sarah says as she brushes past him.
"But I wanna be the stereotypical sassy gay friend. Like in that video Ruth showed me!" He whines, striking a rediculous flamboyant pose.
"I'm gonna have a problem with that." Emily kisses his cheek, carrying in a bowl of chocolate truffles her sister made.
"Let's not..." I say.
"We wont watch Dance Moms though." Katie warns.
"Perfectly fine."
"Wait. We need to watch Romeo and Juliet." Sarah says.
"Uh, why?" I ask.
"Iggy can be the sassy gay dude stopping her from killing herself. Or at least making comments about it." Katie laughs.
"Oh my God." I sigh and hang my head. "There's no hope for you two."
We walk into Emily's room. Then Rachel walks in.
"Whoa! So many people. We need a new plague or something. Hold the phone, I'm detecting one more Y chromosome than there should be." She jokes, pointing at Iggy.
"Giiiiiiiiiirl!" Iggy does the weird rotating head and finger snap thing.
"Shut up." Rachel leaves the room with Emily's phone charger.
"Powwow!" Katie announces as she leaves. We all file down to the basement and circle up around the TV.
"So, Dance Moms?" Emily asks.
"Romeo and Juliet!" Katie and Sarah insist together.
"Well guys?"
"Yeah, whatever." Iggy says.
"Fine." I shrug.
"Alright, Romeo and Juliet it is." Emily pops the DVD in the player.
"Wait, so I get to be a sassy gay friend, right?" Iggy whisper screams to us.
"Yeah." We whisper scream back.
As the movie went on with Iggy making random comments (Giiiiirl! You are fifteen, he's twenty. You got options!) I realized how hurt I would be if Fang left me. How could I have done that to him? Why did this happen?
"What what what is happening? Girlfriend, you best step away from that knife." Iggy drawled.
"Iggy!" Emily gasped.
"Max are you okay?" Rachel said walking in. I know I looked ready to cry.
"What?" I asked. I guess I hadn't really been paying attention.
"Max..." Katie said softly.
"No, I'm fine. My, uh, contacts are bothering me."
"Sure. Except you don't wear contacts." Sarah tilted her head.
"Just got them."
"Why didn't you say anything?" Emily asked.
"I forgot to mention..." I was losing it. I hung my head on my knees. "Fang and I got into a huge fight!" I sobbed.
"What?" Katie exclaimed, putting an arm around me.
"Oh Max! It'll be okay." Rachel said.
"Yeah, you'll be okay. We'll sort this out just like last time but WITHOUT the boy strike." Katie shot a look at Sarah.
"Thanks guys, but I think this will be it. I mean, Hannah wants Fang and compared to her I'm just an ugly bird kid freak." I sobbed.
"No! No, you aren't. You are beautiful and strong and the bestest friend any girl could have." Katie cried.
"Max. You've got to stand up and take control. You need to show Fang and Hannah and Lissa who the hell is boss around here." Sarah said.
"Yeah, I guess..." I mumbled.
"Hey, we'll figure it out tomorrow. Tonight is gonna be about the chocolate, junk food, hot celebrities, and chick flicks! Oh, and Doctor Who!" Emily announces. I can't help but smile.
"Is Ruth ever gonna meet us?" I say, recovering.
" she'll probably will drop by." Katie grins.
"We'll have to get her to tell us everything!" I laugh.
"Damn straight!" Sarah shouts.

Alois pov

"So where are we going again?" Ruth asks for the millionth time. We're driving down an old back road towards the woods I found a few minutes ago.
"I told you," I divert the question, "It's a surprise!" She rolls her pale green eyes and slumps back in the passenger seat while turning up a Queen song blasting out of my car radio. She's wearing a blue T-shirt that looks like Van Gogh's Starry Night, except there's an exploding police box in the middle, along with jeans and an old pair of black converse. Perfect for where we're going.

Truthfully I have no clue where I'm going. I'm not lost, though I'm not sure how exactly I'll find my way back home, but I'm not worried. A little extra time with Ruth definitely would not be too bad. My plan is to drive around back roads until I find a perfect spot for our surprise date. I told Ruth earlier that I had to pick up something for my mom and that I wanted her to come with me.

Finally we pull up to a nice clearing just behind a patch of trees with wide patches of both shade and sunlight.
"Wait here," I mutter loud enough for her to hear over the radio.
"Wait a sec," Ruth turns to me with narrowed eyes paired with a slight smile. "Tell me you didn't drag me out to the middle of nowhere to bury a body or drug deal or whatever, because this situation is getting kind of sketchy!" I smile and lean over the center console an kiss her lightly on the forehead.
"I promise," I whisper warmly, "plus if I had wanted to hide a body, you wouldn't be alive right now." We both chuckle as I pull away and exit the car. I walk around to the trunk and pull out a large blanket and my backpack. Looking around I see a few dark clouds rolling in.I jog over to the clearing out of view of my car and spread out the blanket near a patch of wild dasies and empty the contents of my backpack. Once they are all in place, I light a few candles to finish the scene. I return to the car and help Ruth get out, pretending to be some sort of royal consort by dramatically opening her door and offering my arm.
"My lady," I bow. She smiles sweetly and links hers in mine.
"Close your eyes," I say. She raises an eyebrow, but eventually does. I lead her over to the spot I had prepared and let her arm go.
"Open!" I whisper in her ear. Her eyes flutter open and she scans the area with delight.
"Oh my God, I love it!" She exclaims, throwing her arms around me in a tight hug. We sit down and I start dishing up her favorite foods that I had packed: bacon sandwiches, sun chips, freshly cut apples, and my attempt at a creme brûlée for dessert. Her smile widens as I begin to play her favorite Rush songs from my iPhone.
"This is amazing," she says, taking my hand in hers. "You are amazing." You could practically hear the violins as I leaned over to kiss her. Our lips are just about to meet when a giant rain drop splashes onto her freckled nose. The wind starts to pick up as multitudes of droplets fall from the sky, first a light drizzle, then a thundering downpour. We scramble to pack everything up without getting too wet, but we end up soaked. Me cursing under my breath, we sprint back to the car and get in.
"Gosh Ruth," I mumble, "I'm really sorry about that! I didn't think it was going to rain and-" before I can get everything out she leans over a kisses me. When she pulls away I'm sure I'm blushing I feel so amazing.
"Let's get home before the storm gets worse." She smiles. I can barely pull my eyes away from her, she looks so beautiful with her hair wet with droplets that look like diamonds in it, but I do. After about ten minutes my fears of getting lost are realized, partially because of the heavy rain and partially because of my lack of a map. The storm gets worse and worse as I admit to myself we need to pull over. I pull into a truck stop and we run inside. I turns out its a small diner called 'Fresh' Pickins.
"The placement of those apostrophes kind of worries me," Ruth mumbles to herself. We sit down at an empty counter.
"Sorry about your picnic," Ruth says, "but it was really nice." She pauses. "And hey! Who says a roadside gas station-slash-diner isn't romantic?" I smile and pull out the box that's been pressing against my leg all afternoon.
"So uh...I made you this," I mumble, handing her the box. She opens it to reveal a twine bracelet with a blue pendant of her initials beautifully intertwined.
"This is beautiful!" She gasps, "How did you make this?" I'm really glad she likes it.
"My uncle taught me to whittle so I made it then painted it blue."
"Well, I love it," she smiles. I help her tie it onto her wrist and watch her admire it. In my moment of happiness I remember something that makes my insides churn with guilt. 'I promised I would' I think to myself.
"So," I self consciously pipe up, "tell me about your friends." She looks a bit confused. She probably had wanted to talk about us and not other people.
"Well," she starts, seemingly to have shrugged the confusion off. "Max is a bit of a tomboy and really likes track and field, and of course is dating Fang. Sarah is very outspoken as you might of seen, just like Katie. Those two are always up to something. Um...Emily is really nice and plays a lot of basketball, and Nudge and Ella are practically the same person they are so boy crazy and talk so much. But you probably know all that by now." Hmm.
"And who did you say Katie is dating?" I ask, trying to sound nonchalant.
"I didn't...why do you care?" She questions.
"I'm just tired of confusing people's relationships," I return. It's not a complete lie..."like at first I thought Sarah and Xavier were siblings." I fake a laugh.
"Oh, well Katie's dating Dylan and Emily is dating Iggy," she seems satisfied.
"Are we dating?" I ask sheepishly. Like it doesn't even need an answer, she leans over and kisses me again. Despite the rain and the sleezy diner, it was the perfect day.

Iggy pov
It's Monday. Max spent the entire weekend at Emily's house. The sleepover was fun Though. Anyway, Ruth arrived at like midnight and told us all about her date with Alois. Honestly, I thought it was kind of weird when she mentioned him asking about us, but whatever. He probably didn't want to confuse people.
"Hey Iggy. Need a ride?" Emily drove up to me. I was walking to find a good place to fly, but seeing as I hadn't hung with just her in a while, I accepted the lift.
"Thanks." I say.
"No problem!" She smiles and blasts the radio.
"Man! I love this song!" I exclaim as 1985 pounds through the car.
"Really? Sarah made me listen to it and it's been my favorite for a while. I can't believe it's on the radio." She hums along.
"So how's Max?"
"She went home this morning to change. I think when she sees Fang they will talk it will all be better."
We arrive at the school. I nod my head.
"Well, see you in trig." I wave.
"Yup!"
The day wears on. Oh, Monday...
"Hey! Iggy!"
"Alois. What's up?" He runs up to me.
"Hannah wants to talk to you," he pants.
"What? Why?"
"Um, something about needing help studying."
"Okay." I follow him to an empty classroom. She waits for me on a desk.
"Thanks!" She laughs. Alois walks out.
"So. What do you need help with?" I walk up to where I can hear her swinging her leg back and forth.
"I'm having trouble with all the American history. You know, being British and all."
"Uh, what?"
"I just need help reviewing and all." She's so close, I can smell her sickly sweet perfume. Alerts went off in my head, but at the same time I was enchanted.
"Okay, sure..." I slur.
"Yeah, thanks so much." She leans in close.
"Of course, no problem." She starts moving her hand up and down my face and chest. She's starting to unbutton my shirt.
"You are so sexy, you know that? Your girlfriend is so lucky." Hannah says. She leans in closer. I slip. We're kissing.
"Iggy?!" Emily gasps. I pull away fast.
"Oh my God! Iggy, you have a girlfriend! How could you do that?" Hannah says in mock surprise.
"What? No, I-"
"I can't believe you!" Emily storms away.
I chase after her, but I swear I could hear Alois and Hannah behind me. What has happened? Why?
