A/N: Good afternoon my favorite humans! Just a quick note about this chapter, I'm not sure how you'll feel about it, so if you don't like it, please be nice!

Chapter 24: Understanding

With Jo's help, Kendall was able to learn the guitar much faster over the next few weeks, and soon he'd learnt almost all of BTR's set list for the tour. He was just mastering the very end of Crazy For U when Jo stopped him,

"Kendall?"

"Yeah?" the blonde answered, setting the guitar aside.

"Could we go on another real date, before you go on tour?"

"Of course we can," Kendall smiled, reaching for her hand, which she gladly offered "how about at the apartment? 7.30?"

"Sounds perfect," Jo smiled, pecking Kendall's cheek "now, just run through Crazy For U one more time, I think you've almost got it,"

Around an hour later, at 5.00, Kendall made his way back up to the apartment, and Logan spoke up as he shut the door behind him,

"Hey, man, where've you been?" he asked "we were about to send out a rescue team," the genius joked as Kendall found his way over to the couch and sat down.

"Relax, mom," he said mockingly "I was out with Jo, we were practicing guitar, and she asked if I wanted to go on another date before we leave on Monday!"

"Oh," Logan said flatly "wow Kendall, that's, uh- are you sure you wanna do this?"

"Do what?" the blonde asked "Go on a date with my girlfriend, uh, yeah, I think I do!" Logan flinched a little at the sarcasm in his friend's voice, but held his composure all the same.

"No, I mean have Jo as your girlfriend," he clarified.

"What are you talking about?" Kendall asked, affronted.

"I'm just saying, do you know how emotionally stressful it can be taking care of someone- in your condition? It can take a huge toll on you, and I just don't want you to be with someone who doesn't fully understand the commitment they're making-"

"You're saying Jo's gonna bail?" Kendall demanded.

"No! I just- I don't want you to be lost if she finds she can't handle it," Logan said as Kendall's anger continued to build,

"What do you have against Jo?!" he shot at the genius who, surprisingly, never wavered as James and Carlos entered the room unnoticed and sat at the counter, watching their friends warily.

"Nothing Kendall, I just- I care about you, and I don't want to see you hurt!"

"Thanks, but I think I can take care of myself," the blonde said scathingly before getting up and making his way into his room, his exit becoming slightly less impactful with the banging of his cane into the doors and furniture.

"What was that?" James asked the genius as he and Carlos flopped down on the couch beside him.

"What was what?" Logan tried to keep his cool as he looked between his friends.

"That!" Carlos insisted "You being all jealous and stuff!"

"Me, jealous? Pssh, what?! You're kidding, right-?" Logan's fake chuckle was almost cringeworthy.

"Dude," James said frankly, not breaking eye contact with the genius, who finally faltered.

"Fine!" he sighed "Look, I don't know what this is, OK? It's just that, ever since I've been taking care of Kendall... and all I know is I don't like Jo being around him."

"Do you, you know, like him?" Carlos asked "Like, like him like him?"

"I don't know, maybe- yeah?" Logan heaved a sigh "He just- he's so brave doing this, and I feel like when I'm helping him he just- lets down those barriers, and I just- I don't know,"

"Logan, since when were you at a loss for words about anything?" James asked, smirking "You really do like him!" he and Carlos shared a knowing look as the genius blushed.

"Our little Logie is in love!" Carlos teased, but soon became uncharacteristically serious "is that why you don't want him to leave to go to school?" Logan nodded as his friends moved in to pat him gently on the back.

"I just- I don't want him to go, I can take care of him just fine here!" James opened his mouth to protest about Kendall's education but, opting to avoid another argument, shut it again.

"We know bud," he said instead, rubbing the genius' back as Logan sighed again.

A/N: Well, there you have it! Logan likes Kendall! I'm sorry Jendall shippers who wanted that to happen, but I just feel like I could have more of a story arc if I wrote the rest of this story that way. Feel free to imagine or even write your own Jendall ending, if you write your own I'd love to read them! I'd love to see what could've been if I was more creative and Kogan wasn't my OTP!

p.s, I know I'm updating like super often right now, but I honestly am just really proud of where I'm taking this story, and I want to finish it off! I also really can't wait to show you guys my other stories, which I'm even more proud of!
