Chapter 25: Welcome to Italy
A few days passed after the whole 'Gilbert' thing and it turned out that I somehow got a really bad fever, as you saw. Gil called Ludwig and after being scolded, he came to Berlin and I was taken back to their house, where two Italians were waiting. However, due to my horrible sickness I stayed in Germany a few extra days until I felt better before being taken to Italy. So yeah I never liked Gilbert in that way I was just really sick.
Now I'm in Italy! ...Now I'm in Italy...
"Stop fucking hugging me! I don't want your fucking 'hug time therapy'!"
"Fratello stop being so stubborn! Ve."
"Just cut the crap already idiota!"
"Ve, stop yelling fratello!"
Welcome to Italy...
You see a while after I arrived there the notorious Italian brothers got into an argument and Feli decided to use his wonderful 'hugging therapy', which obviously was never going to work. It actually made it worse; Lovino started using more colorful language and Feli just started squeezing tighter. I was standing there not really sure of what to do, so I decided to let the problem solve itself.
It did only a few seconds later.
"Ow stop pulling you idiot!"
"Ve! I'ma sorry! Ow!"
"Guys just stop squirming!"
Yup... their curls got tied together.
"Jesus! It's like trying to solve a Rubix cube!"
It honestly was and their squirming didn't help. Feli was crying while Lovi was cursing at me,
"Ow! Bastard you're making it worse! Ahh!"
"Well cursing at me doesn't help!"
"Well- fuck!- just hurry up! Ow and stop pulling baAaAa~ mmm~"
I stopped for a moment and stared at Lovi to see what happened, his face was just as red as a tomato (fuck you I've waited to use that line) and he covered his mouth, "The hell was that? Are you alright?"
"Yes! J-just hurry th-the fuck up!"
Slightly confused, I returned to trying to solve the curl problem. I finally managed to get them untangled and both of the brothers let out giant gasps of air.
"Jesus, what were you guys doing?! Holding your breath?!"
Lovi cursed at me again and ran upstairs, face still red; I just called out 'you're welcome' and pressed my mouth into an unamused flat line. Feli hugged and thanked me which made my mood much better and caused me to smile. He invited me to hang out with him and I accepted. To be honest I wanted to hang out with Lovino, Feli's fucking cute as hell and all but Lovi's my favorite character in the show so I was looking forward to being with him despite his crudeness. Anyways, Feli and I left the house and got into his cherry red Ferrari to drive around Italy, I, of course, forgetting the fact that Feliciano Vargas drives like a fucking maniac.
"HOLYFUCKINGSHIT! SLOW THE FUCK DOWN FELI!"
After nearly flying out of my seat we decided it was best just to walk the rest of the day.
"Hey, Feli! Let's take a picture!"
"Okay!"
I stopped a passerby. "Excuse me could you take a picture of us?"
He quirked a brow and eyed me, "[1]Che cosa?"
{Hello! I'm in Italy! Nobody speaks English}
Feli came up from behind after realizing my mistake and spoke with the man, "[2]La prego di scattare una foto di me e questa bella ragazza?" I assumed he's asking him what I did,
"What he said."
"[3]Ah! Si, si! Certo!"
"Grazie~!" We backed up and posed. *snap* "Grazie! Ve~" The man winked at Feli, "[4]Prego. Spero che tu e la tua ragazza Americana godere la vostra data." With that the man walked off before Feli could answer to whatever he said.
"What'd he say?"
Feliciano laughed and shook his head, "Nothing!"
I eyed the smiling Italian curiously. {I need to learn Italian}
Feli took me to Tuscany for the rest of the day where I got to take a picture of me holding up the [5]Leaning Tower of Pisa, he was able to get us a special pass that allowed us inside since not many are able to. It was trippy. Standing in a tower that's leaning messes up you sense of gravity, well for me at least because I'm not that great with heights. It was amazing though, even if I had to climb 270 steps to get to the top, it was most definitely worth it. After heading down and out of the Pisa, we traveled to [6] Siena which is this historic center where it's like stepping back into the Middle Ages and stuff and we tried out some old-fashioned horse racing (which gave me a fucking heart attack). Then after that we went to [7]Florence, the capital of Tuscany, and I got to buy some souvenirs, including an Italian-English dictionary that came with its own CD.
If you ever want to see a hoard of amazing artwork I recommend going to Florence, art masterpieces are found all over the city, inside the huge numbers of museums and churches. The ones Feliciano took me to were art galleries Ufizzi and Pitti Palace.
Traveling back to Feli's house, the night finally took over and the blue sky was replaced with black but it seemed Italy only shone brighter. The country is undeniably charming by day, but you must experience it after dark. The place is pretty quiet at night, as the masses of daytime tourist and citizens return to their homes and hotels, and the softly lit, orange lampposts brighten the night just enough to where it isn't blinding but actually leaves a kind of warm yet lonesome feeling.
Beautiful.
We finally made it back and we were greeted with the scent of pasta. Feli furrowed his brows in befuddlement at first before a smile spread across his face and he sprinted toward the kitchen. I walked in after to see Feli sitting at the table that had two plates of pasta set on it with glasses of wine, I then see Lovino chewing on a tomato clearly annoyed. I stepped over to them and stared at the plate.
"Well? Are you gonna eat or just stand there like a idiot?"
I grinned and sat, "Aww~ Lovi did you make us pasta~?" He visibly stiffened and stared at the far wall.
Feli and I giggle but we ate the pasta which was- "Holy damn what did you make this out of?!"
"If you don'ta like, then don'ta eat it!" Lovi growled.
"Are you kidding?! This is amazing!" I instantly began scarfing down the plate of deliciousness and finished as quickly as Feli. We sat there contented and thanked the southern Italian for the meal which he responded with a grunt before standing up and leaving. Soon after Feli and I followed and we headed to bed and I plugged in some headphones into my CD player ad fell asleep listening to the Italian-English dictionary.
[1] Che cosa – What?
[2] La prego di scattare una foto di me e questa bella ragazza - Could you please take a picture of me and this girl?
[3] Si, si! Cierto – Yes, yes! Of course!
[4] Prego. Spero che tu e la tua ragazza Americana godere la vostra data - You're welcome. I hope you and your American girl enjoy your date.
[5] Pisa - Located along the Arno River in the northwestern region of Tuscany, the city of Pisa is best known for its famous Leaning Tower.
[6] Siena - Established upon three hills in the heart of Tuscany, Siena steps back into the Middle Ages with its well-preserved historic center and medieval horse racing tradition, known as Il Palio. The historic center of Siena still retains many of its stunning works of art and architecture from that time period.
[7] Florence - The capital of Tuscany, Florence is often described as a colossal outdoor museum because of its mass of art and architectural treasures. Florence's hoard of art masterpieces are found all over the city, contained within the large numbers of museums, stunning churches, like the domed Santa Maria del Fiore, and internationally esteemed art galleries like the Ufizzi and Pitti Palace.
Italy. is. Awesome. That is all.
