This is the one hundred thirtieth chapter in the Pokemon Heroes story. Something amazing will certainly happen this chapter. Enjoy!

The Artificial Moltres was already on the move. It was just slithering on the ground as the trees surrounding it was easily swallowed into its body. It gave out another screech, sounding like a demon. It stopped immediately as soon as it was struck by a thunderbolt. It's eyes moved to the back of its head to see its attacker and saw Pelipper flying towards it with Misty and May riding on top. On top of May's head was Pikachu.
"Attack!" ordered Misty. Pelipper opened its mouth and shot the monster with a Hydro Pump, but it did no affect. The spot where the monster was hit regenerated. The monster looked forward and kept going.
"It's not taking us seriously!" yelled Misty. "It's treating us like bugs now." Brendan and Dawn on top of Togekiss came towards them.
"It's not paying attention to us," said Brendan. "I don't think it will."
"But where is it even going?" asked Dawn. "Is it not that bad?" It gave out another of its demonic screech. Misty clenched her teeth and looked up to Gary on his Skarmory. He wasn't doing anything to help them, infuriating her. May looked up to Dawn.
"Have you seen Ash yet?" she asked.
"That idiot still hasn't popped up yet," said Brendan. "Even Pikachu can't pick up his scent. I'm beginning to think he was swallowed up by that thing." May looked away in disappointment, resulting in Dawn elbowing Brendan.
"He's fine," said Misty. "Right now, we've got to worry about disposing of this thing first, alright?"
"I know," said May. Misty tapped on Pelipper to signal it to chase after the monster, with Brendan and Dawn close behind. May stared at the Artificial Moltres and gulped.
"I hope you're doing okay, Ash."
People and Pokemon
Charmeleon slowly opened it eyes. It just saw orange. It's eyes widened, and it looked around. It was bright, and he felt like he was floating in water, dense water. He tried to move, but it wasn't successful. It was confused until it noticed arms wrapped around it. It looked up and saw Ash's face with his eyes closed.
"Char!"
Ash's eyes slowly started to open. He looked around slowly, and then they widened and he looked down at his Pokemon.
"Are we dead?"
"Charmeleon!"
"I know, I know. I was just joking."
Ash tried moving, but he couldn't stay straight. He was able to move upright. He let go of Charmeleon and they both just floated as they looked around. They could see trees, broken building pieces, and even people within the monster as well.
"I thought we were eaten by lava," said Ash. "How come we're still alive?" Charmeleon moved its arms, and then they both heard the loud, demonic screech that shook the water they were in.
"Are we inside this thing?" asked Ash in amazement. "This is a first. That thing was made out of lava. We should've been burned alive."
"Charmeleon Char."
"You're right. Maybe that scientist's experiment failed so hard that this thing isn't even made out of real lava. We can even breath in this. Failure at life."
Charmeleon suddenly roared, shooting a Flamethrower into their surroundings, but it only got absorbed. Charmeleon growled and tried again, but it was still no use.
"Whoa, whoa, calm down," said Ash as he tried grabbing his Pokemon, but it just pushed Ash away and continued its rage. Ash sighed and looked around for a way to escape. Trying to break free wasn't any use. His thoughts were interrupted when he saw Charmeleon squirming forcibly and clawing at the liquid around them.
"You're not doing anything," said Ash. "Quit it. I'll find a way out of here." Charmeleon didn't listen. It continued to do it as it fired Flamethrowers everywhere.
"I said quit it," said Ash as he tried reaching for it, but it shot a Flamethrower at Ash, but he swayed backwards before the attack hit him as it got absorbed into the liquid. Ash looked at it angrily.
"I was only trying to help!"
"CHAR! CHAR! CHARMELEON CHAR!"
Ash could only stare at it. After a while, he slowly moved towards it slowly so it wouldn't hit him. Quickly, he wrapped his arms around the Pokemon tightly. Charmeleon started moving around to break free, but Ash's grip was strong.
"You're just trying to act tough, aren't you?" asked Ash, making Charmeleon stop. "Remember when we first met? I saw you in that forest, constantly getting bullied by that other Charmeleon. Have you ever thought that you're turning into it right now? Because you're now a Charmeleon, you're trying to act tough just like that other one, right? That why you won't listen to me, because you think I'm holding you back, but that's not it. I'm trying to help you get strong. You just have to allow me to." Charmeleon stopped and clenched its teeth. It had no response. After Ash was sure it stopped, he released it and moved it in front of him.
"You have to accept my help," said Ash. "Just like right now, I'm going to ask you for help in beating this thing. I can feel May and the others trying to hold this thing back, so we can't let them do this alone. You understand?" Charmeleon looked away, and then nodded slowly. Ash extended out his hand.
"Let's get stronger together."
Charmeleon looked at him and nodded as it placed its paw into Ash's hand. They smirked at each other, and then suddenly, Charmeleon started to glow.
Misty and the others continued to strike the monster, but it still had no use in their attacks. They stopped for the Pokemon to get a breather, but the monster kept on moving.
"How about you stop running and fight us like a man!" yelled Brendan. It kept going, but then tentacles from its back came out and went toward the kids. Pelipper and Togekiss barely dodged them. The kids were shocked at the sudden attack. The Artificial Moltres screeched once again, and a large Flamethrower escaped its mouth and struck the distance. Within seconds, large explosions erupted there. They were all even more shocked, and even Gary had some interest for a second.
"Oh my Arceus," said Misty as her voice shook.
"It's been growing bigger," said Dawn. "Maybe it's evolving, making it stronger. If we don't hurry up, this thing could become as strong as all three of the Legendary Birds."
"Fighting that thing now is pretty much us walking on the path to suicide," said Misty under her breath. "We can't do anything ourselves, especially if we are only fighting with two Pokemon. Fighting on the ground would waste time. Ash and Gary are our only hope, but Ash disappeared and Gary's acting like a jackass."
Suddenly, the monster roared again, but it was different this time. It sounded like it was in pain. They saw a lump growing on its back, and then it broke open and something soared up into the air at an amazing speed. They all looked up at it, and smiles developed on their faces.
"ASH!" yelled out May. Ash was in the air, on the back of a Charizard that roared. Brendan's mouth opened.
"When the hell did you get a Charizard?!"
"Maybe that's his Charmeleon," said Misty. "It evolved."
"You ready, Charme-"
"Raaaaaaaaawr!"
"Oh, yeah, Charizard. My bad."
The Fire-type soared down to the monster, firing a full powered Flamethrower, but the monster's body easily absorbed it. It shot out six tentacles from its back towards them. Ash materialized his Aura Blade.
"Keep flying. I'll protect us!"
Swiftly and fast. Charizard tried his best to dodge the tentacles as Ash cut through the tentacles. When they finally got close enough, Ash jumped off Charizard and landed on the monster's squishy head. Ash's fist got covered in aura, and he rammed it into the body, and then aura shot out of the monster's eyes and body. Ash quickly jumped off and Charizard caught him. The monster roared and shot more tentacles at them. Before they hit, they were hit by an Aura Sphere, Hydro Pump, and Thunderbolt. He saw the others coming closer to him.
"Where the hell were you?" asked May. "I was worried."
"I was inside that thing," said Ash. "It's not bad in there. Feels like floating on a waterbed."
"No time to be thinking about that," said Misty. "Have you at least thought of how to beat it?"
"Charizard and I were planning to just charge at it until we beat it."
"Like that's gonna work!" yelled Misty. "We don't have much time to waste. Once that thing gets big enough, it could be as strong as a Groudon. Do something now!"
"Alright, alright," said Ash. "What do you think we should do then?"
"I think-Ash!" yelled Misty when she saw Ash and Charizard already charging at the monster once again. Misty groaned, but May just placed her hand on her shoulder.
"It's no use arguing," said May. "Let's just do what he's doing." Misty slowly nodded, and they went towards the Artificial Moltres.
From above, Gary watched. He noticed how all their attacks did no damage at all. He would've left a long time ago without Misty, but something attracted him. It wasn't how the others were fighting or how amazed he was that they had no chance against that monster, but instead because of how strong it was.
"Be careful at how you attack it," said Ash. "There are still live people inside that thing."
"Let's try tiring it out," said Brendan. "Togekiss, another Aura Sphere." It shot an Aura Sphere that hit the Artificial Moltres, but its body just vibrated and quickly recovered right after.
Ash tapped Charizard on its back and motioned to the monster.
"Head towards that thing. I think I've got an idea."
Charizard nodded and dashed at the Artificial Moltres. The tentacles on its back grew out and tried striking the two, but Ash cut through them as they got in closer. Ash then noticed the Charizard's claws glowing purple and sharper. Charizard started cutting right through the tentacles as well, and when they finally got close enough, Ash drove his blade into its body and Charizard started circling it, creating a gash that quickly recovered.
"You just don't like playing fair, don't you?" asked Ash as aura covered his blade, causing an even bigger gash on its body. Charizard also seemed to be going faster, giving the Artificial Moltres no time to recover. It yelled in pain, and then its tentacles extended and charged at them. Ash turned to them and aura started to gather in his mouth. He shot it all out at the tentacles, destroying them all. He then removed his sword and created an Aura Sphere on his hand.
"Higher!" Ash yelled, and Charizard instantly directed its direction up into the air. Ash then threw the Aura Sphere down at the Artificial Moltres. The attack did nothing, and the others thought for a second that Ash wasted his time, but they realized that it was a decoy. As the smoke from his Aura Sphere started to clear up, Ash and Charizard were speeding down at it as they were both covered in aura. They struck at its forehead and came out from the other side. It yelled out in pain and was moving around. The wound wasn't healing up so fast.
"I get it now," said Dawn. "The larger the wound, the longer it takes for it to heal up."
"That gives me one hell of an idea," said Ash as he smirked. "Charizard, n-"
Instantly, a tentacle grabbed them both, and then split into two for both of them. They were both held in front of the Artificial Moltres, and then it roared, not screech. Ash couldn't get his arms free, and Charizard's Flamethrowers were just getting absorbed. They noticed something developing in its mouth.
"Oh crap," said Ash.
"Ash!" yelled May. They flew towards them to help, but they were too late. A large, Flamethrower shot out from the Artificial Moltros's mouth and enveloped both Ash and Charizard. The attack struck the ground near them, causing a shockwave that knocked the others to the ground. When the dust cleared and everything was calm, May sat up and saw where the attack struck and saw a large crater on the ground. Her eyes widened, and she looked around worriedly.
"Ash," said May under her breath. The Artificial Moltres roared, and then it started moving again.
"That thing is dangerous," said Misty as she sat up as well.
"What about Ash?" asked May. Misty looked around, and then she lowered her head. No human being could survive that strike.
Then, the Artificial Moltres stopped and its eyes turned to them again.
"Crap," muttered Misty. Tentacles shot out from behind the monster's back and headed for them. Misty could only shut her eyes as May stared at the incoming attack.
They then heard crackles of electricity direct towards the tentacles, cutting them in half. Misty opened her eyes, and she noticed Gary in front of them with his sword in his hand.
"Gary?" said Misty in disbelief. "Thank Arceus. I thought-"
"Be quiet," said Gary. "I'm not doing this just because I thought I should help you."
"What?"
"I've seen the way this thing fights," said Gary as he glared at it. "Its got a large amount of power. That just means it's something that's worthy for me to fight. I'll destroy anything that tries to get stronger than me." Thunder from the sky crashed down on the monster, making it yell out in pain.
"Anything."
Deep underground, Ash was covered in blood. His eyes were white. His blue vest was torn off, and his hat was miraculously still on. Beside him was Charizard. It was trying to get up. It looked at Ash. It tried to reach for Ash, but couldn't. It fell to the ground, and then it noticed that they were in a room. It seemed confused at first, but then it realized that they were maybe launched towards where the building was at. They must've landed in an underground storage room that was left behind when the Artificial Moltres took in the building. It then heard something hard fall. It looked to where it was and saw that a small stone had dropped from Ash's pocket. A small, blue stone. It felt compelled to it.
"Rawr," said Charizard weakly, trying to get Ash to awaken. Ash wouldn't respond. Blood continued to fall to the ground. Charizard dragged itself towards Ash and placed its paw on Ash's hand.
"Rawr."
"Ch-Char...izard."
Ash was barely awake. His voice sounded raspy. He coughed a couple times, and then he looked toward Charizard. He suddenly smiled.
"It's not over yet," he said. "We're not giving in just yet." The small blue orb started to glow. Ash looked towards it, and then he looked to his side and saw something that looked like a wristband.
"Is that..." he thought, and then he smirked.
Another thunderbolt crashed down on the Artificial Moltres. It screeched and released five tentacles at Gary, but he just swung his sword, and a thunderbolt from the sky crashed down on them and burned them.
"Gary, be careful," said Misty. "There are people in there."
"Like I give a fuck," said Gary slowly, just to irritate Misty. Electricity started to gather on his blade, and then he swung it towards the monster. The electricity shot out from the sword as he swung, and it got larger and larger, looking like a large thin blade made out of electricity. It cut right through the monster, cutting it in half, but it quickly pulled its body together before it fell to the ground.
"GARY!" yelled Misty. "Do you just don't want to listen to me?!" Gary's sword got covered in electricity once again. He was going to do that attack again.
"I said stop it!" yelled Misty as she quickly grabbed Gary's arm, making him swing his sword in the wrong direction as the attack struck a couple of trees and then stopped. Gary looked at Misty angrily.
"You idiot," said Gary. "This is no longer your fight. It's mine. Fuck off."
"What's wrong with you?" asked Misty. "Are you crazy to the head!?" The Artificial Moltres shot out tentacles to strike the kids. Before it reached them though, an ice beam struck them, making them crack and fall to pieces towards the ground. May looked behind and saw that Brendan and Dawn had regained consciousness, and Buneary was by Dawn. She must've returned Togekiss.
"It's no time to be arguing," said Brendan as his eyes turned emerald green. "Let's just focus on taking this thing down!" Gary clenched his teeth, and then he forcibly pushed Misty away from him.
"I said fuck off!" yelled Gary as thunder crashed down on him, causing a shockwave that pushed them down. "I will be the strongest! Therefore, I have the duty to fight those that are strong, weaklings!" He then disappeared, but he reappeared above the monster covered in electricity.
"I WILL BE THE STRONGEST! NO ONE ELSE!" He then crashed down on the monster, causing an impact that pushed it to the ground. When the dust cleared, Gary was breathing heavily. He looked towards Misty.
"Let's go," he said. Misty, at first, thought it was over as well, but then she noticed eyes open up below where Gary was standing. Gary noticed it and tried jumped away, but then his legs were stuck within monster's mouth. Immediately, a Flamethrower shot out and struck Gary at point-blank.
"Gary!" yelled Misty in worry. They saw Gary, from the sky, crash down onto earth. Blood was falling from his forehead. He couldn't move his body, but he was alive. The Artificial Moltres roared, and then its body started rising up.
"Gary's down," said Misty. "It's over. W-We can't beat it without those two."
"Not yet!" yelled Brendan. "We've faced enemies stronger than this fucker!" They were all exhausted. May was quiet, hoping that Ash would pop out of nowhere anytime soon.
"Come on, Ash," thought May. "Please." The beast roared, and something started to gather in its mouth. It was about to strike all of them, but then an Aura Sphere struck its head, stopping it. Out from the crater, they saw Ash, on top of his Charizard flying towards them.
"This ain't over, dammit," said Ash as he breathed heavily and held up his arm, with something wrapped around his wrist. "It's not over until I win!" He then took out the blue orb from his pocket. Brendan looked toward him, and then his mouth opened wide.
"That's Ash's Mega Stone," said Brendan. "And he's wearing a Mega Ring! Where the hell did he get one?! I wanted it first!"
"This is how Brendan told me to do it if I ever got one of these things," thought Ash. "Don't let me down!" Ash then placed the Charizardite into the open crevice on the ring. Lights started to surround Ash and Charizard. Charizard roared.
"A Pokemon and its trainer has to have a true bond in order for a Pokemon to mega evolve," thought Ash. "This is our bond!"
Everyone were looking up at the bright light, and then it broke open, and out came a Charizard covered with black skin, with a blue flaming tail and blue flames coming out from its mouth. It was a Mega Charizard X, and it's arms got covered in blue flames.
"This is the bond between people and Pokemon!"
Mega Charizard dashed right past the monster suddenly, and a huge gash opened up on its side. Mega Charizard then spun around, and then shot a powerful, blue Flamethrower right at the Artificial Moltres. It would usually absorb the attack, but it was too much, and it was blown backwards. Something started to gather in its mouth for a counterattack, but Mega Charizard dash towards it and entered its body and came out from the other side. Ash, on top of it, had a lady in his arms.
"Ash!" yelled out May as Ash got closer. Ash looked down to them, and then tossed the women toward Brendan, who quickly grabbed her, but he fell to the ground due to the weight.
"What the hell?!"
"Sorry," said Ash. "I'm gonna help people get out of that thing. You guys have to catch them, alright?" Ash and Mega Charizard continued ripping right through its body, catching people over and over again. The Artificial Moltres tried attacking them, but they were too fast, and Mega Charizard's Dragon Claw ripped right through them easily. The others watched in amazement at how powerful Charizard was. Gary watched as well, and he felt angry for some reason.
"I saw one more in there, Charizard!" said Ash. "Come on!" Mega Charizard nodded, and they flew towards the Artificial Moltres and ripped right through it, and this time, an unconscious Professor Stiyl was in Ash's arms.
"Oh," said Ash as he dropped the man into some bushes carelessly. "This is all your fault, you know." Mega Charizard then stopped and looked towards the Artificial Moltres, who had many holes on its body, regenerating very slowly. Ash smirked.
"I don't sense any more aura from inside there," said Ash. "That just means we can go all out. No holding back!" Mega Charizard roared, and then raced toward the Artificial Moltres. It turned to them and quickly shot a large Flamethrower, but then Mega Charizard took a quick turn upwards into the air. It stopped when it was high enough, and Ash loosened his grip and was soaring down towards the monster. His fists got covered in aura.
"Now Charizard!"
Mega Charizard shot out a large, powerful Flamethrower towards Ash.
"Is he an idiot?!" yelled out Dawn. "He'll get burned to a crisp!"
"Don't worry," said May. "He knows what he's doing."
Ash covered his feet in aura so it wouldn't get burned, and the Flamethrower consumed Ash. Ash was being pushed in front of it, and the flames were covering his entire body, with his aura preventing it from burning him. From afar, the blue flames covering Ash made it look like his aura turned into blue flames.
"DISAPPEAR!" yelled Ash, and he crashed into the monster and exited from the other side. He landed on the ground, and then a large explosion from within the Artificial Moltres due to the boy's aura erupted, blowing it into bits.
His friends cheered, and Misty smiled as she fell to the ground exhausted. Gary punched the ground angrily. Ash stood and looked up at Mega Charizard, who was descending down to him. While it did, it turned back to normal.
"Good job," said Ash. Charizard nodded. They heard police sirens in the distance.
"You are arrested for illegal experiments, and the creation of a dangerous weapon," said Officer Jenny as she flipped through papers on her clipboard in front of Professor Stiyl. "Bring him in, boys." The policemen pushed the scientist into the van filled with other scientists. They closed the back, and the van drove off. Another scientist was brought up to Officer Jenny, and she flipped through papers from her clipboard.
Ash and his friends were not so far away. Ash and Charizard was covered up in bandages while the others only had minor scratches.
"Why do we always end up in these kinds of things?" asked Dawn.
"Yeah, and we don't even get paid for it," said Ash. "I call bullshit!"
"That's not what I meant," said Dawn.
"But it is kind of convenient that lab was really a secret one for scientists to create things and then sell them to bad organizations," said Brendan. "I heard they're responsible for the assassination of Mr. Devon."
"But why attack that man?" asked Dawn.
"It's because the Devon Corporation was in cooperation with an organization that was very close to them," said May. "Less trade was occurring, so getting rid of Mr. Devon and halting everything within the Devon Cooperation would give them more time. It's kind of sad."
"That's just the kind of people in this world," said Dawn. "They'll do anything for their own selfish reasons."
"But we indirectly destroyed them, so that's pretty much indirect payback, am I right, Pikachu?" asked Ash, and Pikachu nodded.
"And you!" yelled Brendan as he moved in closer to Ash. "How dare you Mega Evolve before me? Where'd you get it, huh? I bet you got it from a dealer in that last town we were in. You bastard. And here I thought we were friends!" May and Dawn could already feel the sparks developing between the two, but then Ash sighed.
"I'm too tired to start fighting," said Ash as he reached into his pocket and pulled out three more Mega Rings. "I found these where I found this inside that lab. Here, you can have it. I thought I could keep them for spares."
"Aw, you do love us," said Brendan as he took his, with his attitude changing suddenly.
"Not like I could do anything with this now," said Dawn. "The mega stone I have is for a Pokemon I don't even have."
"Ha!" teased May, and then she looked at Ash. "How did you know these were the Mega Rings and how to use them?"
"Brendan showed me at that last town we were in," said Ash. "For once, I was lucky I actually paid attention."
"Hey!" yelled Brendan, but then he noticed something.
"Where's Gary and Misty, anyway?" asked Brendan. "Did they just disappear without us even knowing?"
"They are always busy," said May. "There's nothing we can do about it."
"Are you serious?!" yelled Ash. "I wanted to challenge Gary to a Pokemon battle! I have Charizard now! You know what? Fuck that! I have a Mega Charizard! I can demolish everything now! I'll challenge one of you right now! Bring it!" Charizard was looking away in embarrassment as Pikachu sat on its head patting it. Ash and Brendan proceeded to argue as May and Dawn tried to pretend they didn't know them.
Gary and Misty went back to the island as soon as the Artificial Moltres was defeated. They were in total silence on their way towards the cabin. Gary was covered in bandages like Ash, and Misty was hardly injured. They were in silence like before, but this time it was even more dangerous. The atmosphere between them was sinister, and Misty was actually scared to be walking with him. Occasionally, she saw sparks released from Gary. Misty scratched her head, and then gave a nervous smile.
"Listen," said Misty. "if you are upset about losing, don't let it get to your head too much. Everybody loses. It doesn't change who you are, right? So what if Ash beat that thing and was able to get up even after getting hit by a powerful Flamethrower at point blank. Just cheer up. I still think you're strong, alright?"
There was silence. After a few seconds, Gary stopped suddenly, and Misty bumped into his back.
"Hey!" said Misty, but when she looked at Gary, she felt herself freeze. He was staring at her with a glare that would make even Arceus stutter.
"Shut...up."
He said it so slowly. It was so quiet that you didn't know whether he was furious or calm. He turned away and kept walking. Misty froze for another few seconds, and then she frowned, and slowly started following him.
"Gary...what happened to you?"

Next Time on Pokemon Heroes: Ash's life is always stressful when he has to fight for his friends everyday, and he thinks Pikachu's life is way more easier. After meeting a magician one day, Ash will experience it, and see that it wasn't the type of life he expected. What will happen, and how will this crazy adventure turn out? Next Time: Pikachu for the Day.
That was that chapter.Next week is not "Pikachu for the Day". That's the week after. Next week is the second year anniversary chapter. There's still time vote until Friday. I've already got some ideas, and it'd be awesome for some more.
Yes, I decided to evolve Charizard, and mega evolve it in the same chapter, just so I could get that out of the way. From voting that I asked for a while ago, Charizard X won in the end. I know I said Ash wouldn't become a main anymore until the end of the season, but these two chapters were actually focused more to Gary, so the truth is I made these two chapters to show you what Gary thinks of Ash right now at his strength and how that'll affect the other chapters in the future.
