"...there is no known remedy for this spell."
Ritsu felt as if someone had taken a staff and shoved it down his throat choking him with the weight of a thousand tons. His fiance was in a deep coma-like slumber with no known way to wake him. "M-May I see him now?" The doctor nodded glancing at the councilman that accompanied Ritsu sadly.
"When will your team possibly have a solution?" The doctor shook his head and thought of an answer. "My apologies Yokozawa-sama but with this...rather unique situation our team will be slowed," the man paused, "possibly a month at the minimum." The navy haired man flinched at the lengthy amount of time. "What can I do to accelerate the process?" The man received no immediate reply from the medically educated middle aged man.
"I am afraid nothing can speed up the process."
The two men then stood in sorrow filled silence.
Ritsu stood beside Masamune's assigned hospital bed. He stared at the man silently while tears freely slid down his now pale face. "I love you," he whispered almost brokenly at the slumbering man. "Please come back to me. Please I'll do anything you want, we can even do what you wanted on the beach." Ritsu begged the man to come back to him, to wake up and laugh at his over anxious lover.
Taking a seat, he took Masamune's cold hand in his rather shaky hand. Inhaling a shaky breath he began to speak to his still lover.
"Do you remember that time when we were human...when I went over to your house and we...did that? I could have sworn that you could hear my heart hammering against my ribcage. I remember the way your hair felt fluttering across my forehead and how you hugged me close. I-I miss you already," Ritsu took a moment to swallow a sob and calm his sinking emotions. "I still...I still,"
Ritsu could continue no more, he felt as if his world was built up just to be torn down again. He had finally found the soul he was meant to save, finally able to trust him with his life, and finally got engaged. Why was this happening to him? Or better yet, why is this happening to Masamune?
-Ritsu's Point of View-
I could not breathe after I left the hospital room after visiting hours. I felt as if the Devil himself plunged hand first into my chest and squeezed at my ever contracting lungs. Despite this feeling I grew determined to find the remedy to the sleeping spell. Masamune will not continue to be magically bound, especially not by that wench.
"Yokozawa-san can you please tell me which room the wench is in?"
"She was placed in Level A interrogation room B2."
I stared at the wench through the tinted glass that separated us.
"What is the counter-spell for the one you've placed on Takano-dono?"
The interrogator was met with silence as the woman in the room stared calmly through the window, almost as if she knew I was there. "When my father releases me from this hell, I will unleash my own on you and the stupid son of a harlot hiding behind that screen. Come out you coward and face me!"
I stared at her, observing her tense shoulders and the sweat drops rolling down her face.
"What would be your next course of action Onodera-san?" After I thought about the question for quite some time. "Put me in there." The guard accompanying me choked. "M-My apologies Onodera-san but you are not allowed the access into the Interrogation room."
"Why is that?" The guard stumbled for an answer under my rare harsh gaze. "I-It would be dangerous Onodera-san." I nodded at his answer. "That may be so... But you must understand Katsuro-san, the one she cast the spell on..was the love of my life. I'd do anything for him." Katsuro gazed at me quietly. "My apologies Onodera-san, It is my duty to watch over you at all times- day and night. Therefore, If you choose to enter that room I will have accompany you."
After taking a seat upon entering the interrogation room, of course accompanied by Katsuro-san, I stared at the raven witch seated across from my own seat. A moment of silence passed before she said a word. "You will never get the counter-spell from me." She spit at me in distaste, resulting in Katsuro-san tensing and walking closer to me as to protect me should she lash out.
As if a new part of me emerged from all the stress and sleepless nights, I snapped. "Listen to me and listen well you witch. We can compromise here and now, You tell me the counter-spell and I wont rip your wings out from their sockets OR we can torture the counter-spell out of you and you could lose the last piece of your damned soul."
Katsuro-san and the witch looked at me in surprise at my sudden snap. I stood my ground convincing myself to sit perfectly still as I waited for her to decide what she wanted to do. I was continued to only be met with silence.
Katsuro-san, catatonic, led me by the elbow out of the room. "My apologies Onodera-san," he mumbled gently as if afraid I would lash out at him. "Why are you apologizing?" The guard frowned, obviously confused, he then explained, "I am apologizing because we were not able to get the counter-spell from that woman."
I shook my head hiding my anxiety about the whole situation. "It is alright. You had nothing to do with putting a spell upon Masamune. Therefore none of this needs apologizing from you." My personal guard smiled confidently once more and led me down the long hallway towards the training room.
Yokozawa sat across from his lover in deep thought. His best friend was in the hospital and the doctors who have been hired to treat all patients are unable to figure out any type of counter-spell. "Damn it all." He hissed and dropped his head into his hands. Kirishima Zen, Yokozawa's Angel and lover, moved next to the frustrated man and embraced him. "Shh Takafumi everything will work itself out. For every spell there has to be a counter. Now come to bed before you catch a cold, I heard on the news that there is going to be a breeze. The navy haired man leaned into his lover and allowed the taller man to lead him into their shared bedroom.
Kirishima walked his lover into their bedroom with a sympathetic look. His lover was losing sleep and it was physically evident in his stature and in the way he sighed. Fortunately he was on the same investigative team as Yokozawa so if anything did happen he would be there to aid. He shrugged off his robe and climbed into the bed with his lover, mind set on getting some rest.
Ritsu sighed in fatigue as he laid his head in his still lover's cold hand. "I miss you so much," he whispered as tears pooled in his lashes. He fell asleep in that position, in a chair leaned over and head rested in his Fiance's hand.
The passing nurses and physicians glanced in with sympathy, though not one of them knew the actually situation it was rumored that the raven haired man was attacked by a witch. "It is impolite to stare you know." The ones that were caught glanced at the owner of the voice and paled, Masamune's Father, also named as the head surgeon of the hospital. "Atsushi Saga-sama (Made up name, don't think his father's name was mentioned) Forgive us!" The crowd scattered leaving the tall raven haired man in front of his son's hospital private room.
Atsushi looked at the scene behind the door. His lips curved upward at the thought of his son finally being happy. Opening the door he awoke the sleeping stranger in the room. " Oh my apologies." the male snapped up and rubbed his eyes like a tired child. "No. No. It is fine sir, are you the new nurse?"
Atsushi shook his head negatively. "No, I am the patient's father." He stared at the brunette as different expressions passed his face. "I-I am Masamune's um.. Fiance."
Silence was the loudest noise in the room- it basically screamed. "It is a pleasure to meet you, I am assuming you are Oda Ritsu from high school?" Ritsu nodded fiddling with his fingers out of sheer nervousness. "T-The pleasure is mine. Onodera Ritsu actually sir." Masamune's father acknowledged the statement with a nod before gesturing both of them to take a seat on either side of the unconscious patient.
"I was not aware that Masamune had a fiance."
"We um, recently got engaged but before we could send out a notice this happened."
Masamune's father looked at his son's, now known, fiance in sympathy. He was, ashamedly, never there for his son but he figured for someone who has a different love for his son had it much worse than he had. "I approve of you two. I know I was not really there for him when he was in high school and it emotionally stunted him. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of him and making him happy." Ritsu gasped at the sincerity of his soon-to-be father in law. He was even more surprised when the man stood up and bowly lowly to him.
"Thank you for making him happy when I could not."
"Y-You don't have to thank me Atsushi-san I love him."
Comforting silence then permeated through the hospital room while we both mourned over the lost active presence of a loved one.
A/N: Please tell me what you think!
