A/N: I don't own anyone but my OC's…though I wished I owned the rest…*sighs*

This is the right chapter! That other one was from my Vampire Diaries fic Unintended! I am sooooo sorry for that mix up!

Jackson furiously paced around his room, dreaming up ways to make Derek pay for sleeping with his mate. His mate! And as for Brooklyn and her betrayal, he would have to take a different approach with her. She remained fearful of him and despised him for all that he had done. He wanted her to hurt for hurting him, for breaking his heart.

My heart? She ripped it out!

"Jackson," Peter was standing by the window. "We need to talk."

The Alpha's voice left no room for argument as the beta stopped mid stride and knelt down on the rug.

"I am aware that Brooklyn and my nephew slept together but whatever you are planning will not be carried out."

Peter paused and turned to the window. Clearly he had underestimated Derek's determination and Brooklyn's will.

"Brooklyn is still hurting Jackson. You can feel that even now."

Jackson closed his eyes and felt the pain stabbing at his chest. It was the sensation he got when he was on the verge of crying. It was Brooklyn he was feeling.

"Yes," he whispered.

"Brooklyn has not healed," Peter eased his frame on the edge of the bed. "While the mating bond is still powerful, Brooklyn retains those emotions for Derek and he knows that. Your anger and tantrums have kept her away from you. Jackson, being a mate is work. Both retain the same personalities before the bond."

"Will she fully heal?"

Peter heard the drop in his beta's voice. It was the tone of a teen scared and alone, never having been truly accepted and loved by anyone. It was the desperation to gain approval by his mate.

"Of course she will," Peter answered. "Brooklyn will come around. But as I said before Jackson, you have to change."

"Why are we here?"

Brooklyn saw Stiles' house looming over the Camaro.

"You're not safe at my house," Derek didn't meet her eyes.

"But what about you? You'll be alone against them. I am not staying here!"

"Brooklyn," Derek loathed every second of this as this decision had been agonizing to him. "This is for your protection."

"Oh that's bull!" Her eyes morphed in reaction. "I'm a hunter!"

"You're a werewolf now and Jackson's mate. Everything has changed. You're part of Peter's pack and you loyalty lies with them."

"Why are you saying this?" Brooklyn felt her throat closing up at his biting words. "Damn it Derek I love you! I will not let you do this!"

"Brook," his tone softened. "The week of the full moon starts tomorrow. The wolf will take over and you won't be able to control it. You'll run to him even though everything that's human will scream and fight but it will lose every time."

Brooklyn watched as his jaw clenched and the tendons around his neck protrude. He was wrestling with the emotions brewing behind the emeralds rings, the same rings that had shown love for her.

"H-How are you going to keep me from breaking out? I know Scott did the first full moon he changed. Chaining me to the radiator won't work."

"There is a way," Derek nodded. "It's painful and agonizing."

"Tell me….please," Brooklyn weakly pleaded.

"You'll have to ingest wolfsbane; an extremely diluted form of it. You'll be weakened significantly leaving you in a feverish state. Your body will fight to shift but the wolfsbane will keep you human."

"I don't want to be alone."

Her quiet voice jerked at Derek like a silver stake. It was literally killing him to see her huddling in the passenger seat like a frightened child.

"You won't be," he promised.

"Will you be there?" Her voice lifted with hope. The warming notion of Derek being with her lightened her eyes.

"I can't be there all the time," he winced. Brooklyn's head hung in disappointment. "Stiles Scott and Danny agreed to take care of you for me when I can't be here."

"Oh lovely, Stiles the Babysitter," Brooklyn sunk in her seat.

"I know it's not the best but they care about you Brook."

"Even Scott?"

"Yes even Scott," Derek nodded. "You saved his life from Argent."

The sudden rapping on the driver's window made Brooklyn leap up off the seat as Tyhurst stood there staring at them both.

"What do you want?" Derek felt the wolf growing uneasy.

"Looking for you two," the blonde stepped back allowing Derek to step out. "I know Jackson and Peter are looking for Brook right now."

"What?" Brooklyn jerked wildly at the handle until the door gave way. Her short cursing spree abruptly stopped when it flung open. Derek shot his arm out snatching Brooklyn by the arm and pulling her back in preventing her from taking off.

"Brook stop," he was stretched over the console as he wrapped his body around her. "Stop right."

"We need to get her inside," Tyhurst was running for the front door as Derek stayed in the car, battling against the fear rising within Brooklyn.

A duffel bag was sitting on the floor of the basement as the trio took the last step. Brooklyn watched as Tyhurst opened the zipper and tugged the thick chains out. At the end of one link was a heavy loop which the hunter didn't have to ask where it was going.

"Stiles' dad is working overnight shifts this week which works in our favor. Brooklyn won't wake him during the day since she'll be down here. At night, Stiles can keep an eye on her along with the others."

"I feel like I'm at the Bronx Zoo," Brooklyn groaned.

"It's the only way to keep you from running off," the smaller Alpha was busy looping the chains and securing them to the concrete flooring. Tyhurst checked then double checked their tenacity against his strength before nodding to himself. He paused as Brooklyn sat cross legged on the floor and began toying with a few of the links. Her expression was unreadable as her slender fingers slipped through and around the solid metal pieces.

"I understand," she let the chain drop at her feet before standing up and examining the rest of her soon to be surroundings. A guest room was off to the right with adjoining bathroom. The main part of the basement was finished though sparsely furnished. The only item was a pool table that had been witness to better days.

"These should keep you put," Tyhurst wiped his hands on his jeans as Derek took a few hard jerks on the links.

"But what about Jackson and Peter?"

"We'll have to keep them away from here," Derek let the chains slip from his hands. His eyes traced the links from the floor to the walls where steel loops were embedded with chain snaking through them. He loathed the idea of keeping her restrained like a wild animal but what other option did he and Tyhurst have? Handcuffing her to a heater would be like trying to chain a Pit Bull with string.

"Brook," Derek stood face to face with the smaller wolf and captured her hands within his.

"Don't say anything," Brooklyn looked at her feet as one slowly swept back and forth. "It has to be done."

"I know this isn't easy for you."

Tyhurst slipped upstairs as he felt he was intruding on a private moment between the pair. Stiles would be home soon and the smaller Alpha thought it was best to be waiting for him when the teen returned. Besides, watching the Adderall popping boy freak out at the presence of a wolf was rather humorous to him.

Derek watched as Brooklyn flopped on the bed and joined alongside her.

"I can feel him," she shivered despite the warmth of the room. "He's angry with me. He knows what happened."

Jackson remained behind after lacrosse practice deciding to purge his frustrations by weights. Danny had barely said two words to the blonde except during practice but that was minimal and chilly. Stiles and Scott had watched him close to see what he would attempt but Jackson remained cool but was rough in drills. Coach had taken it as the old Jackson was back, the star of the team and captain. The game was on Friday and it was against the neighboring district. But the game wasn't what weighed on Jackson's mind.

His muscles ached as he pushed his body to its limit. He gritted his teeth and hissed through the pain as lay against the bench with the weights elevated over his chest. Jackson hollered and growled as he took a deep breath and propelled the weights up for a final time. He felt his heart furiously pumping as he returned the set to its resting place. Sweat poured from his skin, drenching his shirt and sweats as Jackson stood in the center of the weight room catching his breath. He knew it was the wolf fueling him, encouraging him on. It knew Derek continued to pose a threat to what was his.

But lately Jackson had started to feel off, specifically conflicted. He wanted to kill Derek for sleeping with Brooklyn but something was preventing him from doing so. But Hale couldn't get away with what he did as there were consequences for such. Peter had told him so! Yet again he could hear his Alpha's words haunting him.

Brooklyn retains those emotions for Derek and he knows that.

A mate bond didn't erase the emotions and ties that existed prior to and Jackson hated to admit it but Peter was right. Being mates was work. For the first time in his life, Jackson would have to fight for something on his own. Brooklyn wasn't going to roll over willingly. He would have to win her over and Jackson realized how he could do that.

The week of the full moon started in less than 24 hours.
