Disclaimer: I own nothing other than Ari.
The Doctor braced himself for what was about to come his eyes closed, but when nothing happened he opened one eye taking in the still Dalek before him, before opening his other eye.
Frowning he slowly stepped forward until he was right in front of the Dalek, lowering his head slightly he looked the creature in the eye before waving his hand in front of the eye stalk. When it didn't react he turned to the door and then on pure instinct he ran, but before he reached it someone appeared and blocked his way. Stopping he went into a, some what clumsy defensive position before standing up straight as he realised who it was.
Ari stood beaming at him and he couldn't help but smile back his hearts bursting with joy at seeing her, not only free, but also looking herself.
"Where did all the gold go?" He asked closing the gap between them his hands going to her face.
"I didn't like it." She said taking his hands from her face before he could really get a proper look at her. "Come on."
"You know you really should stop doing this." He said squeezing her hand as she pulled him from his cell.
"Doing what?" She asked looking left then right before pulling him to the left.
"Saving me!"
"Nah." She said smiling over her shoulder. "I'll never be done saving you." She winked at him before looking forward and he wondered where she had gotten her clothes from. Back in the cell she had been wearing the same dark jeans and blue top she had on when they arrived on the island, but now she wore her leather jacket and a pair of black trousers and her boots, and as he thought back he clearly remembered her wearing a white top under her jacket and not the blue one.
He was about to ask her where she had gotten everything from when they reached a door which had a circular window at head level. He watched as Ari went to open the door, but as she did so he noticed that someone was on the other side. Pulling her back she frowned at him.
"What?" She asked clearly confused.
"Wait!" He whispered back putting a finger to his lips.
"Why?"
"People." He said nodding though the window.
"Oh." She remarked looking through the window before turning to him with a smile. "Don't mind them."
He gave her a confused look but she just turned back to the door and then opened it, he went to stop her again but as the door opened up he noticed for the first time that everyone was stood very still.
Letting Ari pull him though the door he looked up and down the hall they found themselves in before pulling his hand free of hers and walking to the closest person to him. It was a woman and she looked to be mid-step, her eyes where open and looking down at a folder she had opened up in her hands. She was breathing and he could clearly see her pulse point on her neck moving in time with her heart.
"What's happened to them?" He wondered not expecting an answer.
"They are frozen." Ari said taking his hand again. "Now stop dawdling and move. I'm not sure how much longer they will stay like this."
He let her lead him again his eyes just taking in everything around him before they reached a lobby and she led him to the main doors.
"Where are we going?" He asked as they exited the building. The area around the building was void of anyone and around them where other buildings including a hanger which was where Ari was leading him.
"They took the TARDIS." She said reaching a small door on the side of the hanger. "The Daleks put it in here."
He frowned at her and looked her in the eyes. He knew she was right, he could feel his ship and knew it was in there but how did she knew that.
"How do you even know that?"
She shrugged before answering. "I just do."
Still at a loss to how Ari knew what she did, and to how she had gotten herself new clothes and gotten rid of the regen energy that was surely coursing though her body he moved with her as they entered the hanger.
Once inside the Doctor pulled Ari behind him his eyes wide as he looked around him. The hanger was full of Daleks, there must have been hundreds of them if not thousands and as he stood still he waited for them to turn on them but when nothing happened he let Ari go and just stood awe struck at what he was seeing.
"What the hell is doing this?" He asked looking about. The Daleks were frozen just like the people in the other building had been, just like the Dalek In the cell had been. "The amount of power that is going into doing this is extraordinary."
"Umm." He heard Ari agree as she walked pass him. "It also hurts like hell."
It took a moment for her words to reach him as she continued walking but once they did everything with in his mind started to click together. Staring after her as she walked into the mass of Daleks but he still didn't move until he lost sight of her.
"Wait!" He shouted running to catch up with her. When he did he walked beside her looking down. "You're doing this?"
"Yep." She answered, nodding as she spoke.
"How is that even possible?!"
"With a lot of concentration you can achieve anything!" She replied and he could see a smile on her lips which suddenly widened. "There she is!"
The Doctor looked up and he beamed as he took in his ship. She had Daleks stationed on each side each looking out from the blue box, but with them being frozen it didn't really matter.
As Ari reached the TARDIS he watched as the doors opened up for her without her even touching them and then he followed quickly after her.
Once inside he closed the doors behind him and just rested his head against the wood and he let his senses run wild, letting the ship welcome him home, letting it calm him before he turned to the console and watched Ari. She hit a few buttons, flicked a few switches and then she pulled a leaver and they entered the Time Vortex.
He walked up the ramp leading to the central dais as she came around and stood before him.
"There we go, all safe!" She said a huge smile on her face.
"Yes." He said not returning her smile. "But what about the Daleks?"
"They will be destroyed very soon." She answered turning back to the console bring the screen to her.
"How?" He asked closing the distance between them until he was stood right behind her.
He watched her look down her hair falling around her, the ends just touching the console, and when she finally spoke it was in a quiet but cold voice.
"I'm going to destroy Visigher."
He turned her then but she didn't look up at him.
"Ari, first of all, no! And second even if I let you how the hell could you?"
"It's easy enough." She said slowly raising her head and he took a step back as she looked at him with golden eyes. "I just let go of all this regen energy they have been pumping into me and boom! No more Visigher."
The Doctor watched as her hair started to change again and her clothes returned to the grubby jeans and top she had been in before. He was about to ask a question when she started to talk again.
"I can not and I will not allow the Daleks to have what is inside of me." Slowly she lifted her hands and he watched as golden strands of energy started to wrap around them. "It's funny really."
"What is?" He asked closing the gap between them again his hand slowly lifting up to take hers.
"For one hundred years I've been in love but until today I never fully understood just how much." She looked up at him then and gave him a sad smile. "I am so sorry."
"For what?"
"For this." She reached up cupping his cheek and he could feel how hot her hand was but it was nothing compared to how hot her lips were as she went up on tip toes and kissed him. He was shocked at first but he soon started to kiss her back his arms going around her waist pulling her against him. He had missed holding her like this, missed kissing her and somewhere in his mind he wondered how he had been able to deny himself this, to deny them both what they knew they wanted. But now it was too late. As he held her he could feel her starting to burn up in his arms and in the end he had to let her go and as they parted she gave him a sad smile before she suddenly disappeared.
.*.*.*.
Ari opened her eyes as tears started to fall down her face, but before they could reach her chin they evaporated due to the amount of heat she was giving off. Slowly she forced herself to stand the cuffs around her wrist falling from her as she reached full height.
Sobbing she put her hands over her face and just for a moment allowed herself to cry as her heart broke and her body burnt. But she knew that time was quickly running out and she had to act fast.
Letting her eyes close she searched for a family a family that would carry on the Sharp name, she searched for Aaron and when she found him she did the only thing she could think of, she sent him and his wife along with their children to Earth, to John and Rose knowing they would take care of them. She also gave John a message telling him to look after her family and letting him know what had happened.
When that was done she opened her eyes and turned to the room she had been held in taking it all in a moment before heading to the door. As she walked flames ignited behind her and as she left the room it burned.
Making her way down the hall she stumbled slightly and she knew she had to be quick as the energy with in her was already starting to seek away out. So as quickly as she could she made her way to the hanger not really paying attention as she set the building she was in on fire.
Once in the hanger she made her way to the centre, to the place the TARDIS had been kept and then she release the Daleks. Slowly they all started to move and as one saw her they all turned to her their weapon arms raised.
"Identify." One demanded and she slowly turned to it her golden eyes smiling.
"I'm your worst nightmare." She whispered, and then she let go.
