Chapter 25: Its time

One month later...

Lorelai is getting ready for Rorys Yale graduation. She looks at herself in the mirror one last time. Then begins to head downstairs "Oh Lucas" she grabs onto the railing feeling at any moment, any sudden movement will make her pop out the twins. Luke came from the kitchen and ran to the steps where Lorelai was at "I thought I told you to wait for me before going down the steps"

"I did call you. You just walk like a turtle"

"Lorelai"

"When have you ever met me being nothing less than a rule breaker. I'm the James Dean is this town"

"I think Jess already stole that title from you"

they reach the final step and Lorelai says "You know I never imagined during Rorys graduation I wouldn't be able to find the perfect dress because I was a whale"

"Your not a whale. Your carrying babies"

"Fine a kangaroo with a full pouch." Look smiles at what he believed a very gorgeous wife. He kisses her "Crazy Lady"

-Break-

Rory and Paris were sitting by some steps at Yale. Waiting for the ceremony to begin. Paris seemed to want to get it over with as soon as possible but Rory felt nervous. "So we've finally made it Gilmore. Who knows when we'll see each other again?"

"Well you know how they say you have those friends for life I'm pretty sure that's what we will be Paris. I'll see you at your Law School Graduation"

"Don't be turning into those showy feeling types no one needs a bambi"

"I don't know it's just scary to think of what's next"

"I'm sure you'll do great things. Better yet we'll both do great things" Paris stood up extending her hand to Rory. So they could head over to their graduation. Rory smiles at what use to be her biggest opponent, her motivator but now she was just her friend. And she liked it. She grabs her hand and they began walking towards one of their last days being surrounded by these high mighty buildings.

-Break-

Lorelai and Emily were walking behind Richard, Luke and Jess. Emily says to Lorelai "Look at them their like Best friends. I can't believe you let this happen"

"Let what happen Mom?"

"Rory leave Logan and follow your footsteps. She had to pick someone exactly like Luke and in the same family"

"Oh mother" and as much as Lorelai enjoyed the satisfaction of displeasing her mother. She didn't want to fight or push it. She tried to keep her word on including her mother and making her feel like part of their life. So she nodded and smiled as her mother began yet another complaint about Jess and Rory dating. Then she hears her father interrupt "You know Emily the boy can hear you from all the way up here"

-Break-

As they all sat hearing all the names pass. Lorelai shifts from her seat "Oh the twins have been insufferable the whole day."

"Insufferable?" Jess smirks

"I've been gal palling with my mother for too long" Luke tries to rub Lorelai's thigh trying to reassure her "it's almost Rorys turn"

"Yeah and then the rest of America. What kind of names are these?" Lorelai complains holding the graduation pamphlet.

Emily interrupts her yapping daughter "Lorelai she's almost next"

"This is as much of a moment for her as it is for you. Luke will you help my daughter up please?"

And as Lorelai begins to stand they hear the people behind groan complaining about Lorelai covering the view.

"Hey!" Jess snaps "if there's a problem how bout you stand up and find another seat" Emily, Richard, Luke and Lorelai all smile over at Jess for defending Lorelai. But the moment didn't last long because then they heard the name, the reason they were all brought together.

"Lorelai Leigh Gilmore" And now Luke and Jess joined Lorelai in a standing ovation for Rory. Rory looked over and smiled. There was her family her motivators. She couldn't help but thank Jess for going back to school in that moment. In her head. And even though it was just for a couple of seconds. It felt like the world had stopped and she felt on top of it.

-Break-

They were all taking different group shots. When Lorelai leans forward holding herself on Luke's shoulder. Rory asks "Mom? Are you okay?"

"Oh no" Lorelai says and looks at the ground. The once dry grass seemed to be wet.

"Oh God Lorelai you have amazing timing" Emily complains.

Lorelai ignores her comment and looks over at Luke "Its time."
