Season Five Episode 05 – Full House

I do not own nor claim to own the RUSH series. However, this creation of a fifth season after the aired finale on Ten does belong to me. I own all original characters.

Enjoy xx.

Chapter One-

"You owe the boss," growled Marcus.

"I don't have the money! I will though, I swear!" Exclaimed Julian.

"Boss isn't happy that you don't have his money. You've been given three extensions, and you should have had the money by now," remarked Jack calmly.

"I swear to God I don't!"

"Well, you're going to have to pay up now," decided Marcus.

"But I don't have the money!" Whined Julian. Marcus and Jack approached him.

"Boss doesn't care about that. This will be the last time you cheat him out."

Stella woke up with Jessie still snuggled in her side, and sighed to herself.

"Jessie-jay. Time to wake up," she said softly.

"I don't wanna wake up," complained Jessie.

"I know, but if you don't wake up, then we're going to have to come up with another reason why we've come into work together again," said Stella gently.

"Coffee. I'll move for coffee," bargained Jessie, pulling the covers over her head.

"I'll be back in a minute with strong black coffee for you," replied Stella. She peeled the covers off Jessie and kissed her forehead before swinging her legs off the bed. She padded out to the kitchen and flipped on the coffee maker before popping some bread into the toaster. She heard the mumbled sounds of Jessie getting up to have a shower, and smiled to herself; Jessie had been living in the same house as her for a month now, and thanks to Jessie neat streak, Stella's house now looked more liveable than ever, and she'd scored herself a beautiful girlfriend. Stel picked the toast out of the toaster and tossed it on a plate as the coffee maker beeped insistently. Jessie joined Stella in the kitchen, her still damp hair hanging around her shoulders.

"Coffee?" Asked Jessie. Stella passed her a cup.

"Here you go," said Stella warmly.

"You are amazing. Have I told you that?" Asked Jessie.

"You have; every morning when I hand you that cup of coffee," said Stella, smiling.

"Do not!" Replied Jessie.

"Do too. Now hurry up and get dressed before we both have to explain to Kerry why we're late," urged Stella. Jessie headed back up to their bedroom and shuffled through her wardrobe for her clean TR uniform, whilst Stella stopped off in the bathroom.

"Are you picking up Shannon this morning, or am I?" Called Jessie.

"I am, that's why I want to get out of here. You take the bike, I'll take the car, and I'll see you tonight," answered Stella. She walked out of the bedroom, grabbed her keys, phone and wallet, and headed out the door, Jessie close on her heels.

"Date night tonight," reminded Stella. Jessie kissed her on the cheek.

"I know. Enjoy morning Shannon, and I'll see you at work," said Jessie before jumping on her motorbike. She sped down the street, leaving Stella to gather her wits and get in the car. It only took ten minutes to get to Shannon's place, and she waited impatiently out the front. Shannon rushed out, flushed, her jacket barely hanging on her shoulders and her backpack dangling precariously from her arm.

"Morning," she gasped.

"Long night or early morning?" Asked Stella, pulling away from the curb.

"Early morning. Josh has already been over, and we went for a run, and then my psychiatrist called, asking if she could push my afternoon appointment to later because she's got an emergency today. Before I knew it, I had five minutes to get ready, and you were here," said Shannon.

"It's alright, I would have waited anyway. So you're doing better?" Asked Stella.

"Psych finally signed off for me to come back to active duty, but I'll still have to see her. Two missed visit's will put me back on medical leave. Josh has been great; he's stayed over most nights, and today he only left to pick up some stuff from his place," replied Shannon.

"Oh, so Josh has been staying over?" Asked Stella slyly.

"He has, and he's been wonderful. I should have stayed with him; at least he cared," said Shannon.

"Well, he's still struggling with the loss of Tash and the baby and then Minka being taken away, and you're essentially giving him something to focus on. I think you're good for each other," added Stella.

"Well, that remains to be seen. Hey, do you know why Kerry wanted us in so early today?" Asked Shannon, changing the subject.

"I don't know, but I wish I did. Getting out of my nice warm bed better be worth it," grumbled Stella. She pulled into HQ and parked in her spot, noting to herself that Jessie had made it to work before she had.

"Guess we'll find out." Shannon climbed out of the car and headed to the locker room, dumping her bag and jacket.

"Meeting in Command Centre in five," called Leon, ducking his head.

"Be there in a minute!" Replied Stella.

"Must be something serious if we're meeting in the Command Centre," said Shannon.

"I know. Come on." Stella led the way through the building and into Leon's prized Command Centre. Daniel, Lawson, Christian, Josh and Jessie were all standing in the room, watching the main screen.

"Good, you're all here. I wanted more time for introductions, but unfortunately, due to our current situation, I don't have that time. The Commissioner has assigned us an eighth team member to help out with our current workload. Leading Senior Constable Xavier Anderson joins us from the Critical Incident Response Team. He'll be joining you today as you head out to Central Melbourne," said Kerry.

"What's the sitrep?" Asked Lawson.

"Poker game gone sour; now there's a guy on the roof holding someone hostage," answered Kerry.

"Right team, let's move," called Lawson.

"Wait! Lawson, Josh, stay back for a moment please," requested Kerry. Both officers backtracked into the office, and stood facing Kerry.

"What's up?" Asked Lawson.

"Due to the fact that the team is now so much bigger than it was before, I want to put both of you down as team leaders. I trust the judgement of both of you, and I need you to be able to control the situation out there. It's going to be messy. Can I trust you?" Asked Kerry. Josh and Lawson nodded.

"Yes ma'am," they chorused.

"Good. Now get out there and make this headache go away."
