A/N: This one practically wrote itself, honestly. I love these two, I'll miss writing them doing cute little things for now. Again, I hope everyone enjoys it and will look forward to final installment coming out. :)

Summary: Ren tastes Masato's tea of the day.

Yaupon
Noun
A holly shrub or small tree of the southern U.S., having bitter leaves that are sometimes brewed as a tea.

The brilliant light shone through the translucent curtains and upon a somber, chiseled face that attempts to retreat from the attack by confining in the lush, silk pillows. It is far too early to be even remotely alive and Ren knows it. Hence, why he insists on ignoring the streams of sunshine and focus on the inviting darkness that comforts him. He will never be a morning person, much unlike his partner, Masato, who has abandoned their cozy bed hours ago. Of course, Ren often wishes Masato would stay even a few minutes longer than he normally does and just enjoy the easy-going lifestyle that consisting of being tangled up in the sheets in each others arms.

With a long, drawn out sigh, Ren emerges from the bed reluctantly and yawns loudly as he runs a large hand through his messy hair while adjusting his boxers. Groaning with every step he takes, the man trudges begrudingly through the apartment flat until he locates his partner seated at their mahogany dining table.

With a half smirk spreading on his luscious lips, Ren stops short and leans against the marble counter, "Morning, beautiful."

The roll of Masato's dark eyes were not hard to miss for Ren's trained eyes which is followed by the counter, "It's 2 pm, it's far from being the morning."

"Ah, spare me the details," Ren jokes smoothly before crossing the room in long strides to join Masato at the table. "What you drinking this time?"

At the beginning of the month (the new year, actually), Masato had adopted the habit of trying different types of tea a day in an attempt of a cleanse or taste test, Ren could not remember the reasoning (did people still do New Years resolutions?). Either way, Ren always asks daily to try and show the slightest amount of interest in something that Masato is indulging himself in at the time.

"It's a yaupon tea," Masato deadpans before taking another sip from the small china cup that is decorated delicately with tiny flowers. "Would you like some?"

"Definitely," Ren agrees and carefully takes the cup from Masato and brings it to his lips and the instant he gets the warm liquid in his mouth, he regrets it. As a man who prefers sweets, it is just plain cruel in Ren's eyes that his lover will allow him to have something so bitter. He should have known though, considering Masato hardly offers to share his tea.

A guilty-as-charged smirk spreads on Masato's lips as he reclaims the cup and dips his head back slightly to down the rest of the drink. "Maybe you'll wake up on time tomorrow."
