Chapter Twenty-Five:

The Mall (Dun, dun, dun)

Well, the Subway plan totally backfired after Silver's little show.

They got their sandwiches and Amy got a cookie to go with it, which she later shared with Jeffery. The little guy saw it and completely left his mother who held a piece of tomato (something he loved just not enough to beat a cookie) to wobble over to Amy with his mouth open and a Mohawk on his head.

After they were all done eating, they found themselves in Old Navy first, seeing as it was closest.

Amy looked at the color scheme and giggled, standing next to Blaze. "You think Sarah would appreciate that?"

Blaze stifled a laugh. "I'm sure she would love working here if she got that job."

Flame took the stroller that had Jeffery in it and wandered off with the guys. The girls took Petunia and did their own thing.

Amy was looking at a red shirt when someone put their hands in front of her face. It reminded her of Tails at Fred Meyer.

Speaking of Tails…

Amy grinned and turned around. "Hey, where were you guys?"

"We went to Pretzel Maker instead," Cream replied, shifting her feet from side to side.

"Where are the others?" Tails glanced around, swishing his two tails.

"You mean the guys," Sonia said, "Since you don't want to spend time with us girls."

"As much as I would love to—No."

Amy giggled, "I don't know, they wandered off."

"Great," Tails said frustratingly, putting his hands to his side in defeat.

"But you could hang out with us," Cream batted her eyelashes at the fox. "Please?"

Blaze, Amy, and Sonia all wondered how Cream got to be flirty. At all.

It's All Been Done by Barenaked Ladies started playing and Amy pulled out her phone. "It's Sonic. Hm."

She put it to her ear. "Hello?"

"Why didn't Silver answer his phone?"

Amy smiled and walked away subconsciously from her friends, the others didn't seem to notice though, so it didn't seem to matter. "Short story very short, he changed his ringtone after you called."

"Oh, where are you guys?"

"Old Navy."

"In the mall?" Sonic groaned. "And I was just about to see if I could hang out."

Amy pursed her lips, looking at sweaters and hats. She sighed. "You can, the guys are here. The parents stayed home."

"I got that much; they at least answered the phone."

"That phone at least doesn't say, "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard"," Amy smirked.

"Oh," Sonic repeated with a laugh this time, "Nevermind then."

"What time is it?" Amy suddenly questioned herself and the cobalt hedgehog.

"Almost two."

"You think Sarah would mind getting out of work early?"

"What are you sayin'?"

"I'm saying if you don't mind picking her up, since you have to already, then you two could come hang out with us."

"Why? That place is the mall."

"Yeah, but, I don't think there are many places to have nookie at the house with the parents there."

"I have a house."

"I'll call Clark."

"You wouldn't dare."

"Watch me, Shadow told me all about how Sarah shut you out, and I don't blame her, I'd do the same thing if my parents were there, especially Clark. Maybe she's just thinking about the wedding now."

"It's three months away!" Sonic whined.

"Yeah, true, but every wedding is special to the bride."

"Every wedding?" Sonic questioned with a snort.

"It's not like prom; you could get married as many times as you want."

"Well, I want only one," Sonic replied honestly.

"How sweet," Amy picked the sweater with her nails. "Just get your ass down here."

"By the time school ends and I pick her up and get to town, it'll be four o' clock!"

Amy leaned against the table of hats. "Would you rather hang out with the guys or hang out with your future in-laws."

"…You make this sound so hard."

Amy smiled. "See ya, soon, Sonic."

"Bye-bye, Ames."

Amy flipped the phone shut with a smirk on her muzzle. She turned around and walked back to the girls plus Tails, of course.

~~~.~~~
"Where are Benjie and Lewis?" Silver asked, shuffling through shirts on a hanger.
"Probably back home," Shadow answered sarcastically. "What do you think?"
"Sorry," the white hedgehog muttered.
Manic tried on different sunglasses nearby. "Hey, guys."
"Hey, what?" Flame said, letting Jeffery wander around while he looked at buttoned-up shirts with Shadow.
"Do I look like a smexy beast or what?" Manic turned around in sunglasses that had sharks on the side and winked with his tongue out.
Flame chortled. "Put them away, you dork."
Manic shrugged. "I'm surprised they'd fit. They're for kids."
"Well, it would make sense that your head is tiny—you have only two brain cells to rub together," Shadow replied.
"Ooooh, look whose time of the month it is, guys," Manic swaggered over with purple aviators on.
Shadow smirked and put a white buttoned shirt in his arms along with a light grey. Manic leaned against the table they were looking at. "Man, take it easy with the color choices—you'll blind someone with all that pizzazz."
"Haha," Shadow said, unbuttoning the shirt he had on.
Manic put his hand to his eyes and looked up at the ceiling. "Don't look! Naked hedgehog!"
Shadow snorted. "I see why Sonic loves you so much."
"Was that sarcasm?" Manic stared at Shadow with a gaped mouth, pretending to be hurt by the comment.
The ebony hedgehog put on the white shirt, buttoning it up a bit but enough to show his white, fluffy chest hair as he did a pose. He grabbed Manic's sunglasses and put them on. "Do I look like a smexy beast or what?"
"I'm gonna go with "or what"," Manic grabbed the aviators and put them back on the shelf.
Shadow undid the buttons and did the same with the grey shirt. Silver picked up a shirt and held it up. "Hey, guys…how about this?"
They looked at him and watched as he held a long-sleeved, flannel, purple shirt that had buttons. Flame narrowed his eyebrows somewhat. "How come he's the only one of us that looks good in purple?"
"He's white," Manic shrugged.
Shadow pointed at him—his regular shirt back on—with a serious expression. "Don't be racist."
Everything was silent until they started laughing.
Sonic hit the brakes in front of the residence long enough for Lewis and Benjie to get out of the house.
Did he stop long enough for them to get in the vehicle?
Hmm, no.
Benjie grabbed the handle to the back and threw himself in while Lewis was only able to get in the long box. While Lewis was outside in shorts and a light shirt, freezing his ass off while Benjie was dressed in jeans and a fleece sweater.
He hit Sonic's shoulder. "Thanks for picking us up."
"No problem," Sonic waved him off with a smirk.
~~~.~~~

Just as they got down to the school, all the buses pulled out. Sonic tapped the wheel while he was parked in the front, waiting for his future-wife to show herself.

And she did.

With tons of papers in her hands, Sarah opened the door and climbed in while Lewis was warming up with the heater. "I'm f-freezing," Lewis stuttered.

"You should've been faster getting in the truck," Benjie stated.

Sarah looked from Benjie to Sonic with a knowing expression. Sonic shrugged. "I don't know what he's talking about. How was your day?"

"Why are they in the truck?" Sarah motioned towards her brothers.

"Gee, thanks," Benjie whacked her shoulder which made her whack him.

"We're not going straight home," Sonic put the truck in reverse and got out of the parking lot of the small school.

The tired female moaned. "What did Amy make you do this time?"

The rose hedgehog gasped, stopping the whole group while she stared at a store.

Blaze and Sonia backtracked along with Cream who was holding Petunia's hand. Flame pushed the stroller and noticed his wife wasn't walking beside him anymore. He stopped and turned around.

"Oh, no…nonononono!"

All the girls had that glazed look in their eyes as they looked into the shiny store. It was nearly empty…of people. Dresses upon dresses were put in front of them.

The guys all huddled together and quickly whispered. Flame glanced around the group. "What do we do!?"

"If we don't get them away now, we'll never get home!" Manic whined.

"We need the ultimate plan," Shadow mused.

"How about one Sonic the Hedgehog?"

Sarah rolled her eyes while she stood between her brothers and fiancé. Shadow looked at his watch and then up at his housemate. "You're late."

"I'm never late, you are all just early," Sonic smirked. "It's four o' clock, Shadow."

Shadow gave him a blank look. "I have a watch; I know what time it is."

"What were you doing while I was driving us here?" Sonic looked over the guys' shoulders to the see the dazed girls.

"Besides our sister buying half of Old Navy's inventory—nothing much," Manic motioned to the bags Sonia was holding and the bags fit in the carrier under the stroller.

Sonic nodded. "So, what seems to be the problem?"

Flame pointed at the girls. "Do you not see them?"

"I see 'em."

"Do you not see the store they just so happen to be looking in?" Flame continued.

Sonic took one glimpse at the dresses in the window, "A store with dresses?"

"And do you realize what they are!?" Flame pointed back at the girls.

With wide eyes, Sonic turned the other way and pulled on Sarah's arm. "C'mon, we're leaving."

"Wait!" Sarah said, staring at the store now. "We can buy new dresses for that dance at the Wilson's."

"You have plenty of dresses!"

The lime green hedgehog turned back to stare at her fiancé. "I only have two."

Sonic watched as she left him for the store.

"Two is more than enough!"

"How about this one!?" Sonia smiled, holding out a bright yellow dress that went to her thighs.

"No."

"Well, what about that pink one?" Sonia asked.

Flame, who was sitting on one of those fancy couches the store had that was white, shook his head. "No."

Sonia put the dress away. "And why can't I wear a dress!? You jealous some guys might look at me?"

"No," Flame answered. "I'm afraid I'll be the only beside you because of your body."

"What about my body!?"

"Well, after you gave birth to two kids—you aren't in the best shape," Flame answered honestly.

Sonia looked down at her flat stomach and then up to her husband. "I look damn good for having two kids!"

"Honey," Flame cooed.

"What?" the stressed female replied.

"Go try on a few and then let's go," Flame said which made his wife squeal and run along with Blaze.

All the guys were on the couches and all the couches were put in a square. Sonic shook his head. "We're never gonna get out of here."

"Alive," Manic put in.

"No, we're gonna waltz right out of here with a bunch of bags and no money," Shadow told the guys who all nodded their head and agreed.

"And no dignity," Benjie said fearfully.

"Worse, Sarah has her brothers and me," Sonic said. "She'll get twice the amount of things that the others will."

Benjie moaned, putting his head back. "We'll never be able to look Dad in the eye again!"

"He'll think I'm some weenie ass," Sonic mused with wide eyes, staring at the coffee table in front of them in the middle of the square of couches. "And then he'll take back his blessing and then ship me off to Japan in a crate with a sign that says, "Dead hedgehog—please give to homeless child so they won't starve." And then…I'll be eaten."

Shadow stared at him, suddenly snorting in amusement, "Really?"

"It could happen," Sonic stated, glimpsing at the ebony hedgehog.

"It all already did," Benjie and Lewis simultaneously said.

Each and every single of the guys stared at one another before staring at them. Sonic had trepidation in his eyes before Benjie waved him off. "We're just kiddin'."

Sonic sighed in relief. Lewis held a cup of hot chocolate he got from a machine that had coffee, hot chocolate and tea nearby. "But he did go to jail."

They were all soundless once more.

"Almost, Lewis, almost. You can't forget that word."

"I honestly don't think it makes a difference."

~~~.~~~
"What time do the stores close?" Sonic asked Shadow.
"How should I know?" the ebony hedgehog was leaning back in the couch, seeing as it was near four-fifteen now.
"You are the guy with the watch."
With an easy hit to the shoulder, Sonic stayed quiet. Manic looked something up on his iPod and said, "Most stores close at six."
"Yes!" Flame cheered with his palms in fists as he praised the Lord, looking up at the ceiling.
"What time does this store close?" Lewis moaned. "I just saw Amy carry five dresses into the changing room added with her other five dresses and let's not forget to mention that Cream already has her own hanger of dresses inside her changing room."
The store was simply called Ginny's Boutique. There was dark wood everywhere basically. Glass coffee tables were dark wooded, hangers and stands that had mannequins on them were dark wooded, and the shelves that had some dresses in color coordination were dark wooded as well.
The couches were white with green pillows added to them. The coffee table in front of all the guys didn't have a glass top though, it was just regular dark wood with a few magazines on the top of it.
"I can't find it," Manic looked for the store name and the closing times.
"It might be on the door," Silver suggested.
"Go right ahead, if one of those girls saw us leaving, they'd be yelling at us and then crying," Flame warned.
"And then we'd really never make it out alive," Manic agreed, whispering.
"Or with any money left," Shadow looked up at the dark ceiling.
"Tada!" Amy pulled back the curtain, dressed in a light blue dress that went to her thighs and flowed out so it wasn't hugging her legs.
It had sailboats printed on it with bronze buttons on the shoulders, two per each side, and a pink belt around her waist. She spread out her arms and did a pose. It had thick straps on the shoulders to fit the buttons. "Do you like it?"
Shadow hummed, squinting. "What's with the pink belt?"
"Yeah, it clashes," Silver noted.
Amy looked down at it and nodded. "That's what I was thinking but I'm hooked on these sailboats."
Sonic face palmed and stood up. "Amy, if you're looking forwards to impress a guy—not saying any names, Shadow!—then you should pick something else."
Shadow had his eyebrows narrowed, watching as Amy disappeared in the dressing room and as Sonic sat back down next to him. Sonic glanced at him. "What?"
Shakily, Blaze stepped out on silver high heels and a dress much like Amy had only thin strips over her shoulder and a different pattern to it. On the straps it was floral, then at the top of her chest it had blue and white polka dots and then two different floral patterns—the first one had red flowers and green leaves mainly while the next had all sorts of flowers—and then a thin pink stripe went across and after that the pattern continued, along with a red bow tied at her waist with the bow on the front.
"How do I look?" Blaze whispered.
Silver sat up straight with a grin on his face. "I like these summer dresses tried on in the spring—it makes everything more…" he put out his hands to make a square and pretended to measure Blaze up like a picture painting. "…more perfect," he finished.
The cat blushed only a little. "I think the heels gotta go though…"
"Yeah, you could break your ankle in those things," Shadow stated. "Just get some red sandals—the ones that are thin, ya know? And have that strap around the big toe?"
Blaze smiled optimistically and nodded. "Yeah, I'll look for some."
She turned around and walked back. Sonic stared at Shadow until the hedgehog noticed. "What?" Shadow inquired, quite annoyed with the blue blur already.
"You speak Prada?"
"You know what that means?" Shadow mocked.
They were silent before Lewis said, "It's not even Prada, it's just summer dresses."
~~~.~~~

"What time is it?" Sonic whined.

"Four-thirty-six."

"Damn," Sonic whispered, leaning his head back against the couch.

"How's this?" Sonia came out and twirled in a turquoise dress that had medium-sized straps that tied in the back on her neck in a bow.

It was turquoise for the most part but at the bottom it seemed it was a scene in a city or something. Starting with white slashes here and there and some white spots on the dress, the turquoise part probably represented the sky with clouds in it while the blue at the bottom of the dress that was much darker might play as a beach or something.

Flame nodded, "Looks good."

Sonia's face lit up and she bit her bottom lip. "You think so?"

Sonic nodded in approval. "Yeah, it doesn't show much."

"Hello, she's married," Flame said. "I don't think it matters."

Sonia turned back anyway. "I'm gonna go find some shoes!"

Sonic shrugged. "Would you mind if she showed cleavage in the public?"

"Nope, I'd be thinking about what we'd be doing when we get out of public."

"You pig, that's sick," Sonic scrunched up his nose, making Shadow snort.

"Please," Shadow started, "You and Sarah? All night long. Two months ago—now that was sick."

Sonic was a red tomato while Benjie folded his arms and glared at his future brother-in-law. Sonic shrunk back against Shadow nonetheless. "Please don't kill me."

"He's getting married to the gal, I don't think it matters what the hell their sex life is."

Their ears perked up and their heads turned to look past aisles of dresses and to the cashier counter while a Mobian was sitting on a stool with a magazine in front of him.

"Who are you?" Sonic asked.

The Mobian put down the magazine and instantly, Sonic chortled, "Mike!? At a dress boutique? That's hilarious, really!"

"Glad I could amuse you," the grey hedgehog said bluntly.

"Wait a minute, I thought you worked somewhere else or were unemployed," Shadow questioned, raising an eyebrow."

"Part time job here on Tuesdays and Fridays," Mike said, jumping off the stool and walking around the desk to show his dark uniform with his name on the nametag. He leaned against the table for a minute to say, "Not that I'm proud of it or anything."

"Man, this must be torture for you," Manic joked, "Seeing women dress in clothes all day."

Mike shrugged. "I'm fine with that part, it's just when they start crying I have to whip out my chocolate stash just to make them feel better."

"And how many dates have you gotten thanks to that?" Tails grinned slyly.

"Don't remind me," Mike pulled back the sleeve on his right arm to show Sharpie marker written on his arm a couple times. "Jessica tomorrow morning and Clarice tomorrow afternoon at the coffee shop," he took out the Sharpie marker and wrote something down, "And now, Belle Thursday night—bowling with friends."

"Seems you're doing fine for yourself," Shadow affirmed. "Where's Alicia?"

"Back home, packing," Mike said. "My sister's coming home and Alicia's moving out."

"How come?" Sonic raised an eyebrow.

Mike put the marker back in his pocket. "She got a job, like, some…" he snapped his fingers. "What was it? Hmm…ummm, right, well, it'll come to me and when it does, I'll tell you guys."

"So, she's just leaving you?" Silver said with a somewhat mystified expression on his face.

"We were never actually together," Mike said.

"No, that's not what I meant, I mean-"

Mike chuckled and walked towards them. "I know what you meant. Nah, she just got an apartment for herself and a job—she was only there to look after me, under my sister's promise."

Lewis nodded. "Right, I think I've met your sister before, way back in college though."

"Yeah, before you dropped out," Benjie snorted.

"No, I'm going to a different college," Lewis glared at his brother. "I'm gonna become something famous and then I can totally laugh in your face and forget you ever existed."

"You can't do that, you have family reunions to go to and if you don't, Mom'll kill you," Benjie reminded. "She almost did it to me when my flight was cancelled."

"I remember that," Lewis said, looking out of it, dreadfully.

Mike grabbed the metal bars and slid them down, locking them inside the shop. Sonic gulped. "You aren't gonna kill us, right?"

The grey hedgehog grinned, shutting the black curtains in front of the windows so no one could see. "Possibly."

"Listen, we can just go if it's a bother," Silver stood up.

"I'm not gonna kill ya," Mike chuckled, walking back towards them. "It's just closing time for all the stores. I usually stay here late though, just to get out of Alicia's hair."

"We can go," Sonic repeated Silver's words close enough.

Mike shook his head. "No need, maybe if the boss sees you on camera with me late at night, she'll finally fire me."

"Why can't you just quit?" Shadow questioned.

"Because, then I'll never hear the end of it from Alicia—saying that I couldn't handle a tough job."

"Well, if you get fired, that's still sending the same message," Manic stated.

Mike shrugged. "True but getting fired seems like I did something badass against the rules instead of just quitting. Besides, the boss is…" Mike looked at all the cameras nervously before whispering in Shadow's ear. "Pass it on."

Shadow rolled his eyes and whispered it to Sonic who whispered it to Benjie who did the same to Lewis who did it to Tails and who told it to Silver in his ear and who passed it on to Flame and who finished it with Manic.

The green hedgehog had his eyebrows narrowed, "Anchovies?"

"What? No!" Mike slapped his forehead, "In love with me! She's crazy!"

Manic shrugged. "I heard Flame say anchovies."

"Hey, that's what I heard Silver say."

"What?" Silver sat up. "I said Bartlomew!"

"How'd you get that!?" Flame wailed.

"That's what Tails said!" the white hedgehog complained, putting his hands up.

"What? No, I said, "In love with me"!"

"Thank you!" Mike said and he motioned from Shadow, Sonic, Benjie, Lewis and Tails. "These are the smart guys."

"No, the dumb guy is the one that messed it all up," Flame said.

Everyone was silent as Silver glared at him. "I'm not dumb."

They stopped while hearing footsteps in flip-flops. Sarah bit her bottom lip, letting a loose strand of one of her quills curl up naturally as she leaned against the archway to the changing rooms. She was wearing a baby blue dress that went to her thighs but flowed out like any other spring/summer dress. On the dress were what looked like a polka dots from far away but as people would get closer to the dress, they would see square shapes that were white, not round dots.

Sonic tilted his head. "Are those jars on the dress?"

Sarah looked down and hummed. "Umm, I'm not really sure."

"They look like it," Benjie said. "It's nice though."

The straps on the dress were like Amy's straps of her first dress—medium sized but somewhat longer. At the bottom of the dress there was what seemed a ribbon where upside down 'V's were in a pattern. Sarah made the flopping sound with her shoes. "I just slipped these on real quick."

"Looks fine," Lewis complimented with a nod.

Sarah looked at Mike. "What are you doing here?"

"I work here."

The lime green hedgehog laughed with snorts in between, "Seriously?"

"Absolutely positively," Mike answered directly.

"Huh," Sarah said before turning sharply and heading back to the changing room.

Cream passed by her with red flats hitting the ground with a smack. "They're a bit big," she stated, staring at her rabbit feet.

Tails shook his head. "You look…"

Honestly, he was just gonna say that because all the others were. But the fox was awestruck at the sight before him while romantic music swelled in the background. Probably some Celine Dion.

Cream's hair was neatly in a braid to hang over her left shoulder as she wore the yellow dress that had small black polka dots on it as the background. Cherries were surrounded by leaves with a plaid ribbon as the pattern, put all over the dress and leaving some spots to show the black dots.

The red belt hung onto her waist tightly, letting the summer dress poof out to the top of her knees. The straps were medium sized again and curved to meet at the back of her neck. She stood with a knee bent, looking up at the guys. "I look?"

"Beautiful," the words came out as a whisper but Cream's ears heard just fine.

The rabbit's face flushed and she smiled, putting her hands behind her back, "Really?"

The guys glanced at Tails who nodded, "Absolutely positively."

Mike frowned. "That's my saying."

The fox raised his hand up to silence the hedgehog as he continued to gawk at Cream—who let him stare, surprisingly.

Shadow could've sworn he heard Celine Dion singing over the stereos, too. And he was right. Because as soon as Amy walked through with another dress on that made her look, oh, so damn fine, The Power of Love was playing, either through his head or on the stereos, he couldn't tell—he just knew it was there.

She was in a longer dress this time, going just below her knees and it went straight down, it didn't flow out nor did it hug her legs. It had slight ruffles on the sleeves that were medium sized and a ribbon around the front and top part of the chest area. The dress was light brown mixed with a grey color, it seemed and she had on matching shoes.

"How about this one?" Amy twirled for the guys to see.

Shadow nodded slowly. "That'll do."

"How long are we staying?" Silver munched on popcorn in the giant green bowl shared among him, Flame and Lewis.

Benjie, Sonic and Shadow had their own bowl while Manic ate Poptarts. Mike shrugged, chewing on a Crunch candy bar.

"We could just always raid the food in the worker's lounge."

"I didn't even know there were such things—much less in a dress store," Benjie scoffed, shoving a handful of popcorn in his mouth.

"Boutique," Mike corrected, chewing his food.

The lights were dimmed a bit lower now automatically, seeing as they were the only ones in the mall now besides a late night janitor in the basement watching TV on the camera screens. How did they know about the bear janitor? Well…

Flashback

Sonic's shoes squeaked while the guys were laughing, running through the dark halls of the mall.

"Oooh!" Manic made a ghost sound.

Silver was still at the latest vending machine they had stopped by and put his hand in. "Just a sec, guys!"

"You're not really going to steal from a vending machine, are you?" Shadow asked.

"Mike said there are no working cameras in these halls," Silver said, his fingertips grazing the bag of Munchies, "So, hell yeah."

~~~.~~~
Just as they were rounding another corner and going down some stairs Flame found, they heard footsteps. Flame pushed all the guys back to where they came from and hid in the stairway by a door.
A bear walked by, halfway asleep and humming to himself before opening a door and closing it, vanishing inside the room. Sonic looked through the glass of the door and smiled. "Hey, he's watching CSI."
"Which one?" Manic asked.
"Miami," Sonic grinned at his brother.
"Let's go!" Shadow hissed, grabbing Sonic and leaving with the guys to get back to the girls.
~~~.~~~

Mike watched for his friends as he held open the bar cage about three feet off the ground. The guys all slid under while the girls watched.

Sarah was on the couch with Amy, Cream and Petunia while Sonia tapped her foot, wondering where Flame went while Jeffery tugged at his mother's dress she had on.

Sonic came in first with a Mountain Dew in his grasp, sliding through like a pro, Amy hooted for him with Sarah while Cream whistled and did a wolf howl. The blue blur smirked cockily and stood up, giving them a bow as he went and sat down on the arm chair, right next to his fiancée.

Shadow slid through and rolled while Tails almost hit him. The fox was sliding in with drinks and food in his hands. Shadow only held a Pepsi Cherry Amy had asked for him.

Amy giggled while she grabbed the drink and opened it, waiting until the fizzing died down. Tails almost tripped getting up thanks to Manic that ran in and hit his leg.

"Oof!" Tails stopped from cussing at the green hedgehog that smiled innocently.

Flame slid on his stomach in and rolled the rest of the way before hitting his wife's leg. He smiled at her and put his hand on her ankle. "I see London, I see France, I see someone's underpants."

Sonia rolled her eyes and walked away from her husband who pouted. Sonic went up and smacked on him on the back of the head though, making Flame glare. Just as the two were about to go all out, they heard squeaking from the door and a face palm from Shadow.

Silver failed at sliding in, his hands full of food yet Tails did excellent with the art of sliding through. He frowned and put his legs up, the only thing his friends could see while he worked on getting in.

Slowly, inch by inch, he pulled on his feet, putting them in and then out, pulling, and then in and then out again until his quills were a centimeter away from getting smashed as Mike slammed the bars shut on the wood floor.

"Ahh!" Silver shrieked and then stood up, pointing at Mike. "Not cool!"

Mike smirked as the white hedgehog went to cuddle up to Blaze, whining about some bad hedgehog.

Flashback Ends

After that, the girls went on to try more dresses. Cream had already tried on a brown dress that went below her knees and had thin straps and white polka dots.

Blaze had tried on a frilly dress that went below her knees as well but had magenta flowers and light green/blue leaves with no straps. Sarah had put on a knee-length dress that was black with white polka dots everywhere instead of spaced out like Cream's plus the straps were thicker on Sarah's dress.

Amy came out while the guys stopped talking. She twirled in a knee-length, black dress that had white lines on it with a thin, pink belt. It had somewhat thin straps and went along her collar bone instead of her breasts like most of the dresses they had tried on.

Manic licked his lips and wiped the crumbs away, nodding his head. "Okay…"

Amy pouted her bottom lip at Shadow and leaned very close to him that Sonic had to hold back a snicker, "Shadow?"

"Y-Yes?" Shadow stuttered but cleared his throat.

C'mon, man! Sound like a man!

"Do you think you could get me a dress for the St. Patrick's Day dance?"

"Depends," Shadow stared at her mysteriously. "What'd you have in mind?"

"Well, we were thinking-"

"Woah, woah," he interrupted the pink hedgehog, "We?"

"Yeah! Sarah thought it would be a good idea to get a new dress for each of us! Seeing as I need one desperately to go."

"Why do you need a dress to go to a dance?" Shadow smirked, trying to find a way out in his mind. "You could just show up in some jeans and what Mrs. Wilson calls a "cowgirl shirt" a.k.a. a flannel shirt."

Amy put her hands on her hips—backing away from him, "No dress—no dance."

"And that would be a bad thing because?" Shadow kept his smirk on his muzzle, but not for long.

The rose hedgehog was a clever hedgehog and she was always—well, sometimes—two steps ahead of Shadow.

"No date."

Shadow sighed and stared at Sonic. He had to do a double take at the blue Mobian; he gaped a tad when he noticed his friend/rival's expression. Sonic had his bottom lip in his mouth, keeping from laughing and his eyes shut tight.

Shadow smacked his lips. "Go ahead, Sonic—laugh."

And he did.
