Emmett's point of view:

"We're here, Rosalie," I said, placing my hand on her shoulder as she dozed as I turned off the car.

She sighed as she blinked her eyes opened; her violet eyes were unfocused as she asked, "Where are we?"

"At Brent and Sue's. You fell asleep in the car," I replied.

"How'd I fall asleep so fast?" she mumbled as she blinked rapidly and rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

I shrugged my shoulders. "The medication can make you drowsy. You'll go to sleep early tonight; that's for sure."

"Probably, but I hope the kids sleep better tonight though." She took a deep breath and blew it back out. "You ready for dinner?"

"With my beautiful girlfriend? Always." I gave her a wink as she rolled her eyes. I opened my door as she opened hers. "I'll get your crutches, babe."

Moving quickly, I grabbed the crutches from the back seat before bringing them to Rosalie as she slowly moved her feet outside of the car. "Thank you," Rosalie said as she took the crutches into her hands.

"Whatever you need, my lady," I replied, giving her a kiss on the lips, making her giggle.

She gave me a huge smile, making my heart leap. Groaning, Rosalie stood up and started to use the crutches to walk, moving at a slow pace, and I matched my pace with hers just in case she fell. When we approached the door, I pulled out my key, unlocked the door, and held it open for Rosalie.

"Oh, Rosalie," Sue said, bustling towards us as Rosalie carefully placed her crutches on the ledge of the entry way and swung herself inside. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired and achy," Rosalie admitted, and after she was inside, I closed the door. "I'm going to be covered in bruises by morning."

"Now you come sit on the couch," Sue said gesturing to the living room. "I got the ottoman out for you Rosalie. You go put your ankle up, and I ordered pizza for us so we could have a simple dinner. Emmett, do you think she'll need ice? I have an ice pack that Brent used after he got his cast off."

"Ice would be great. It'll help with the swelling for sure," I replied. "How were the kids?" I asked Brent, who sat on the floor, playing with the kids, many of the babies toys scattered around Brent on their large living room floor. They were so busy playing that they hadn't taken notice of Rosalie or I yet.

"It was perfect. We got to play with the kids and read them tons of stories, but it seems like you two had a rough day?" he asked. "How'd you sprain your ankle, Rosalie?"

Rosalie launched into how to hurt herself as she propped her leg onto the ottoman. I sat down on the ottoman, and as gently as I could, put her ankle in my lap so I could unwrap it. "Sorry," I muttered when she flinched and groaned in pain. "You're already starting bruise," I commented when the swollen ankle was exposed. "Do you mind if I check it?"

"No, just be careful," she replied.

As gently as I could I felt around her swollen ankle, apologizing as she flinched again.

"Here's the ice, Emmett," Sue said, holding out the ice pack.

"Thank you," I replied as I accepted the pack and gingerly placed it across her ankle and held it to her skin. "We'll keep that on for twenty minutes, Rosy, and it may even help with the pain."

"Alright." She gave me a sad smile as she leaned back against the couch as I grabbed her hand. Staring into her eyes, I returned her large smile. She squeezed my hand back as she smiled

"You're staring again," she teased lightly.

"Whenever I can stare at your beauty, babe," I replied and leaned in to give her quick, gentle kiss.

"Goober," she said, smacking my arm when I pulled away.

"I'm your goober though," I said gently before standing and turned to Brent. "Can I take one of those kids off of your hands?"

"Nope. We're enjoying some play time together," he replied. "Plus they said they'll be missing me when they leave, so we're getting in as much time as possible."

"I can't deny the kids some time with their Papa," I told him.

Sighing, I sat next to Rosalie, putting my arm around her. Leaning against me, she sighed just as Sue asked, "Before you two leave, we'd like to look at our calendar to decide when we can visit around the twins birthday. We'd stay for two and a half, to three weeks, if that'd be okay with you."

"We'd love that," I replied, giving her a smile.

"I'll let Esme and Alice know so we can plan the kids' birthday together," Rosalie said with a tired smile.

"Of course," Sue said.

"And my stupid ankle should be better by then," Rosalie muttered. "So I'll be able to help set things up too."

"How long do you have to stay off of your ankle?" Sue asked.

"Four to six weeks," Rosalie grumbled. "If it takes six weeks to heal, it'll be a long six weeks"

"I can imagine, and Esme is going to love helping you out though. Too bad we can't be there too," Sue said.

"That would be nice," Rosalie agreed.

"Plus, it'll help that your boyfriend is an orthopedic doctor," Brent commented.

I snorted. "I don't know about that, but I'll make sure to wrap your ankle every day before work."

"I'm sure that'll help it from getting worse," Rosalie said.

"And the swelling will go down with it being wrapped. Are you ready for the ice to come off?" I asked.

"Sure," Rosalie said, and moved to the ottoman and lifted her leg to my lap. I took off the ice and set it aside as my fingers felt around her swollen ankle, making Rosalie groan.

"How's your pain?" I asked.

"It's not as bad as it was, but deep, throbbing," she said and sighed. "I hope on our next family vacation that I won't get hurt."

"Me too," I told her, picking up the ace bandage. "I'm going to wrap this up so you'll get the swelling down, but it won't be too tight."

"Alright," Rosalie said as she leaned back against the back of the couch. "Gosh, I'm so tired, even with the nap in the car."

"It doesn't help that the kids woke us up last night," I told her. "I'm so ready for them to sleep through the night."

"I thought they were doing better with that," Sue commented.

"They're getting up a couple of times a week during the middle of the night, but I think being in a different place doesn't help at all," I replied as I moved to sit by Rosalie again.

"Probably not, but we didn't have that issue with Emily, but she was an only child," Sue said. "So did you get to see any of the University?"

"A little. I showed Rosalie the College of Medicine and the building where I met Emily," I replied.

"Then I had to cut things short and sprain my ankle," Rosalie mumbled.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, babe," I said, giving her a kiss on the cheek as I took her hand in mine. She gave me a smile as she intertwined our fingers.

I felt a little hand on my knee and I looked down to see Hannah holding onto my leg, giving me a toothy grin.

"Hey there, pretty girl," I said, bending down to pick up my little girl.

"Daddy!" she said with a huge smile.

I gasped, sitting up more to hold my little girl. "What did you say?" I asked her as a huge smile covered my face.

"Daddy," Hannah repeated with a giggle. "Daddy."

"Babe, did you hear this?" I asked, planting kisses on my daughter's face.

"Are you happy here with Daddy?" Rosalie asked.
"Daddy!" Hannah said again smiling at Rosalie.

I laughed. "That's my girl," I said.

"I think she likes getting this attention from you," Rosalie said, as she put up her hand to Hannah's, and Hannah grasped Rosalie's finger.

"She does," I said, "but it's a special day for us."

"Yes it I," I replied.

"You know," Brent said. "I don't think I could've used a better birthday gift."

"I'm glad we were here to share that with you," Rosalie said, smiling at Brent before turning to look back at me. "Your mom is going to freak though."

"She is." I returned Rosalie's smile as I held Hannah around the torso she could stand on my lap.

"Daddy!" Hannah said again as she patted my face with both of her hands.

"Oomph," I said. "Silly baby girl." I kissed her cheeks, making her giggle.

The doorbell rang and Sue stood as she said, "Pizza's here. Brent, I need some money."

"My wallet is on the counter, Sue," he said as he as he pushed a fire truck for Jordan, who grabbed for the toy.

"Can I help you all pay for that?" I asked, moving Hannah around so I could get my wallet from my back pocket.

"We wouldn't dream of it, son," Brent said. "It's the least we can do for all of you visiting me on my birthday."

"Alright, but I'll make sure to pay for plenty of meals when you come for the twins birthday though," I replied.

"Fair enough; we'll be able to buy more for the kids that way," Brent teased.

I snorted. "You know, we're still using all of the toys the kids got for Christmas."

"Expect all of their birthdays and Christmases to be like that, son," Brent replied with a smile.

"We'll make room in the kids' room then," I said.

"We should think about setting up one of the other rooms for the kids anyway," Rosalie commented.

"I'm not ready for that," I told my girlfriend, making her snort. "Maybe after they turn one. Maybe."

"Over protective Dad setting in," Brent replied.

"Over my children, of course." I smiled, standing to help Sue with the pizza as I handed Hannah off to Rosalie.

"I wouldn't expect anything less with our precious grandchildren," Brent said, with a huge smile.

So sorry for the delay. I've had huge writers block with this story, for whatever reason. I hope, I hope that the next chapter won't take as long to write. Please review
