The Tree's Memory.

Specter tells his Master, Ryoken about his childhood years before he joined the Knights of Hanoi as Ryoken's right hand man.

"You already knew about me being a lonely orphan who lived in an orphanage behind a forest right?"

Ryoken nod.

"Because I was abandoned with no social skills, I was always alone living like a ghost; a Spectre."

"Yeah, you already told me that."

"Before I was kidnapped during the Lost Incident, ran away from the orphanage after being rescued and join the Hanoi, I have met and made friends with a human other than my Mother Tree."

"What? You did? That's new to me." Ryoken was surprise to hear this. To think Specter who live without any contact with people actually had made at least one other than himself.

"It's been too long, if I remembered right it should be about 10 years from now. I have always kept this memory lock up inside my heart. It was my most treasured memory of all." Specter smile softly as he remembered about his past.

(10 Years Ago)

Specter as a young boy at age of 8 lived in an orphanage behind a forest with a huge tree with an air pocket like a door. As always Specter was sitting alone by himself away from the other kids. The kids didn't even notice him as if he was invisible to them. Specter didn't care anything about what the others thought of him or even once tried to befriend him.

But that all change on that very day before he was kidnapped becoming a victim of the Lost Incident.

One day while he was on his way to go see his Mother Tree, he saw someone near it. It looks like a girl about a few years older than him.

"Ara, Hello." The girl notice him and smile at him.

"H-Hello." Specter stuttered as he look at her. He could feel something warm and fuzzy feeling in his chest when she smiled at him.

"What's your name? My name is Fuyuki Tsukikami."

"Me... I don't have a name."

"You don't?" Fuyuki was confused but she smile anyway hold his hand. "In that case, is it alright if I could give you a nickname instead until you have your own name."

Specter thought for a while then give the girl a nod.

"Alright then. Before that let's play together while I'll think of a name for you."

"O-Ok."

Just like that, Specter and the girl named Fuyuki played together all around the Mother Tree. They even talk together about their life. Specter found her interesting and not long after that, he became attach to her making her the first person to make contact with him, noticing his existence and it made him feel happy for the first time. Right now the two are talking together on the tree's highest strong branch.

"I see, so you're an orphan who've been raised in an orphanage without any knowledge of your parents."

"That's right. But nobody from the orphanage even notice me or even talk to me. I'm always alone but... You may be the first to talk to me."

"Me?"

"Yes, but before I met you, this tree was like a parent to me keeping me safe from the world when I was a baby and sometimes I came back to this tree to play with it. I feel safe whenever I'm near this tree."

Specter could still remembered it deep in his heart from his baby days before being found. It was the first time he would ever tell this story to anyone. Fuyuki was touched by his story.

"Anyway, what brings you to my Mother Tree?" Specter ask the question next.

"Well, my home is in this forest not far from this tree. My hobby is playing with all the animals and care for the plants. One of my friends had just made a home here in this tree."

"Really? It's almost like you're a princess. About the friend you mentioned?"

"Oh Thanks for the compliment and the friend is a Blue bird family. Would you like to meet them?"

"Is it alright?"

"Of course! Come on."

Fuyuki drag Specter to her bird friends from two branches below them. She hums a little song and he could hear faint sounds of birds singing back. They followed the sound and found a nest with 2 blue birds inside.

"Hello there, my blue bird friends. Sorry for the wait." Fuyuki sat next to their nest carefully without crashing onto it. The birds happily chirp and then she introduced them to Specter.

The birds were cautious but since it's Fuyuki they trust him and fly over to him a little. Specter hold out his hand and it landed on his finger.

Fuyuki giggle to see him all shy from a bird's touch.

And so the two kids continued to play together with the birds and the tree. Specter continued to observe her and realize that she was almost like a princess as he describes it. She loves nature and animals treating them with love and kindness. Not long after that, he became attracted to her even more.

The sun started to set ending the day.

"It's almost dawn. It's time for me to go back home to prepare dinner. My mama and papa will get worried."

"O-Oh alright, you're right. Well then will I see you and play again together tomorrow?"

"Of course, oh and you haven't have a name yet. It's rude of me if I don't have a name to call you."

"Well it's fine if you don't have a name for me to give right away. You could think over it tomorrow."

"But but I really have too. I want to tell my parents about my day with you."

"Parents huh." Specter feel a bit sad to see that she still has parents who love and care for her while he was abandoned by his.

"Oh I'm sorry. I don't mean anything to upset you." She panicked and apologized to him.

"It's alright. Um... I was wondering why are you being so nice to me since the minute we first saw each other?"

"Well I don't know much myself but I think I could feel that you have a kind spirit inside you and I know you're an innocent boy."

Specter was shocked to hear her answer. It was pure just like an angel or a goddess.

Then he took something out from his pocket and give it to her. "Here,for you."

"Wow it's a pretty white Lily flower. Thank you." Fuyuki took it from his hand and smell it.

"You're welcome." He blush as he smile.

Suddenly, Fuyuki has a lightning bulb lit up. "How about Yuri for a name?"

"Yuri?"

"Yuri is Japanese word for Lily and its for both boy and girl name. I think it's perfect for you. Is it good enough?"

"Hmm..." Specter thought about it and he knew about the Lily in the language of flowers means purity, innocence and beauty from one of the books he had read before. Then he give her the answer. "Thanks, I like it. For now it'll be just a nickname."

"Yes, just a nickname for now. We'll then, let's reintroduce ourselves once again." Fuyuki held out her hand. "My name is Fuyuki Tsukikami. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Yuri. Nice to meet you too." He held her hand and shake.

This marks the first light of hope for Specter before the Incident.

(Present Time)

"That's the end of it. What do you think, Ryoken-sama?"

"Well I have to say Specter, your story was one of a kind. It even made my heart warm inside. So Yuri huh?"

"Yuri was only a nickname of the past. My permanent name is Specter now."

"Still I would like to call you Yuri too."

"Sure but don't say it in front of the other Knights of Hanoi, alright."

"Sure of course." Ryoken has another thing to ask Specter. "So what ever happened to that girl now?"

"Well we kept on playing together for 2 more months before I was kidnapped. At first I had fun there but I still miss being near my tree and Fuyuki. I really miss them. After I was rescued, the first thing I do is to go back to the tree and hope to see her again but both are not there anymore."

Specter said that after he was rescued and back to the orphanage again, he ran straight back to the tree but to find it cut down leaving only its stump. As for his childhood friend, he went to her home only to find her and her family gone. Their belongings were still there but no matter how long he waited, she never came back. That's when he finally join the Hanoi to stay with Ryoken.

"But Specter, it's been ten years now and we're all grown up, I'm amaze you still you could remember those childhood memories of yours."

"She was the only human friend I ever had before you and I still like her."

"Hmm... How would you like to see her again?"

"Ryoken-sama?"

"I'm saying how would you like me to help you look for her again?"

"Really? But it's already been ten years. I'm not sure if she still remembers me or knew about me joining the villain team."

"Well this is a first. It's not like you to ignore information looking if it's something really important."

"Eh... Well..." Specter stutter. He does like to look for information if it's necessaryly important like the time he went to look for info about Blue Angel's identity and her past. He said it even got chills.

"That's an opportunity for you to go back to the beginning to learn more about the past to move forward to the future. I would also like to meet this girl you're so fond of."

"Ryoken-sama..." To think his Master was more interested in his past made him realize that he care for Specter not as a servant but a friend as well.

"If Ryoken-sama says so then allow me to show you my past."

"Thanks. I promise to help in any way I can."

The next day, Specter and Ryoken took their boat to the orphanage where Specter lived before as a kidkid but their destination is the forest behind it. They found the space where his Mother Tree used to be but it looks like the stump is gone now.

"Looks like your Mother Tree stump isn't here anymore." Ryoken said looking at the marks he found.

"You're right but I guess it's the end of the road for us here."

Before they could leave, they heard chirping sounds.

"That sound... I know that sound anywhere. It's coming from over there." Specter ran towards the sound as Ryoken followed him.

To Specter's surprise, he found a similar looking tree. Its height and branches looks almost the same except that it doesn't have an air pocket and it's branches are filled with animals living in it as their home.

"Wow! Amazing!" Both said at the same time.

"What happened here?" A voice said from behind them.

The turn around to find a familiar person. "Akira Zaizen?!"

"Wait a minute, I know you people! You guys are the Knights of Hanoi! What are you doing here?" Akira stand on guard as he take his Duel Disk out.

"We could ask you the same thing. What are you doing here?" Ryoken said.

"Why should I tell you?"

"Ryoken-sama, please don't. We're not here to fight, we came here to help me find my long lost friend." Specter calm his master.

"Long lost friend?" Akira said confused.

"I guess there's no use hiding it. Our plan failed and we're in a temporary disband. Is it alright if I say it."

"Alright then, Ryoken-sama."

"Zaizen, we don't mean any harm. We just came here to help Specter find his childhood friend here.

" You've said that before. Who's this friend of yours you're talking about?"

Ryoken told Akira everything and Akira now knows who is it when Ryoken said the name.

"Fuyuki?! Your friend's long lost childhood friend is Fuyuki?!"

"Um... Yes that's right. Do you know her?"

"Know her? She's Aoi's best friend and I'm waiting for full moon night to bring them back."

"What do you mean?"

"You see..." Akira told them everything about she and Fuyuki were transported to another world dimension through the magic mirror during the night of the full moon.

After finishing the story, Specter and Ryoken couldn't believe that something like that could happen but Akira prove it to them using his Duel Disk. He tried many times to try get contact but it doesn't work. So the only way to get them back is to use the mirror exactly how it happened before.

"We came all this way, we can't give up now. Zaizen, if what you said is true then let us help too."

"Ryoken-sama!"

"But you're our enemy, why should I trust you? After all, your friend over there, Specter was the one who defeated my sister during the Tower of Hanoi." Akira was very angry when he saw Aoi dueled Specter and she lost, turning her into data.

"That's just prove how strong I was but she did tried to save me. It took a lot of work and she still failed."

"Anyway let's just put it all behind us and help get Aoi and Fuyuki back into our world." Ryoken said. "Zaizen, Please let us help you. I'll keep this a secret only Specter and I will help. It's for Specter's sake."

"Well alright, fine! But if you betray me, I won't forgive you, got that?"

"We promise, right Specter."

"Yes Ryoken-sama. If its the only way to see Fuyuki again I'll do it until the end."

"Alright then, follow me." Akira agreed to let the Hanoi help him since they have worked with technology. He escort them into Fuyuki's house where the magic mirror is kept.

Inside her home, Specter feels like it's his first time back to her house. Ryoken look impressed by his friend's home. Its not as big as his own house back in the hill surround by the oceon but it's almost like a castle in a forest.

"Well this is it. This is the magic mirror. We just need to wait until the moon is full so the mirror could work. In the meantime, I have to prepare this machine so it could help keep track how long it could last." Akira shown them the mirror and the small timer machine to bring along.

The 2 understood and help Akira finish the machine before night came.

'Fuyuki... Soon I'll be reunited with you again. Wait for me.'
