Hello all! I am very sorry to inform you that there will no longer be any updates to this FanFiction. I had a lot of fun writing this, but truth be told, it was actually a way for me to vent. How so? Well, this fanfiction was actually based on a true story, my story. I'm in no way Len and a certain someone is in no way Rin, but it helped me a lot since this fanfiction was an allegory to a lot of things.

I no longer have nor had the strength in me to continue writing the story because of how it ended.

So for those that like to live in happy endings, read no further, and for those that want to know the true ending, I'll write a short summary of what happened.

Again, don't read any further if you like happy endings.

After many months of letter writing and rare secret meetings, Rin breaks it off with Len. Fearing that their relationship was all too real, Rin grew fearful of what King Taito and Queen Miku would have thought of their relationship. The long distance also broke Rin's heart though Len was happy to have waited for her.

It doesn't stop there, Rin then decides to hook it up with Gakupo (AKA the Duke of Chaos if you can remember him from the Masquerade) after feeling very lonely since Rin and Len's break up.

When Len finds out, he is heartbroken and decides to retire as a servant, silently watching Rin whenever he can and growing angrier as he sees how close Gakupo and Rin become. Months after, wanting to take the relationship further, Gakupo attempts to rape Rin and they break up for a short while. Seeing this as a way of getting back together, Len begs to get back together with Lin, but to no prevail.

Confused by everything, and what it is that she's feeling, Rin asks Len for help. Though Len is still bent on winning Rin's heart again, he suggests that Rin stop seeing Gakupo.

Of course Rin doesn't listen, and instead spend many more days and nights with Gakupo driving Len up the wall. In his anger, Len breaks off their friendship with Rin. Desperate, Rin begs Len to not leave her life.

Still, Len goes through with it. Rin is left in a depressed state, much to Gakupo's dislike. Gakupo races to Len on horseback and asks Len to be Rin's servant and friend to her again.

This of course pisses off Len even more, but he still has some love left for Rin, and is STILL convinced that they have a chance together. So he agrees to still be a part of Rin's life as a friend and servant.

And so Len is friends with Rin again, and Rin is happy that she has the two men she loves in her life, her servant and her duke, best friend and lover.

It goes on like this for many more months, and Rin soon cannot tell Len apart from the other masked servants. And Len finally closes off his heart to everyone and vows to only trust himself, and finally leaves the castle.
