Hey guys, I'm really sorry that it has taken me this long to upload this chapter. I have been pretty busy this past month and half. Because of some bad luck or timing. For example, I have been dealing with drama with my friends, I work 3 to 4 times a week with a 6 to 7 hour shift, I have a large homework load as tall as Mount Everest, and a few weeks ago, my car was not working...Yup...fun times T-T. But those things are all fixed/ everything is going smoother now...hopefully *knocks on wood* and I will be honest it has been rough and writing this chapter has been limited. :P But it is done now! Shall we celebrate by reading this chapter?!

Anyway, here is chapter 25! I do not own Fairy Tail or any of it's characters, you can thank Hiro Mashima that.

Now, please enjoy! Review! Favorite! And don't forget to follow too!

Chapter 25: To the Library!

"Would you put me down?!" I shouted at Gajeel.

"No," Gajeel answered

I sighed; we were far from the Raven Tail pub and certainly far from my house. It was also by this point that I was getting annoyed with the large man.

"Why not?" I asked in completely annoyance.

"Because you're so God damn slow," Gajeel stated.

"Don't blame my height!" I snapped.

"I am blaming your height,"

"Well you're taller than an average Englishmen!" I countered.

"And you're saying your average?" Gajeel asked raising an eyebrow

"No, I'm saying you're not normal!"

Gajeel snorted, "Sorry princess, I didn't mean to offend you,"

The large man was mocking me.

I was not getting anywhere with him and Gajeel knew it.

Gajeel continued for a while until he finally slowed to a stop.

"Okay," Gajeel sighed, "we should be okay here,"

Gajeel slowly set me down.

"Finally, I can stand,"

"Oi," Gajeel growled, "I saved your fucking life,"

"Excuse me," I challenged Gajeel, "I was not under Seilah's Marco,"

Gajeel scuffed, "yes you were,"

I rolled my eyes.

"You were," Gajeel challenged

"Okay…let's say that I was under Seilah's Marco," I began.

Gajeel frowned, not quite happy with the 'what if' scenario.

"I fought her Marco like my life depended on it…while you were curled up in a ball,"

Gajeel growled.

"And…you did give me the gun," I pointed out.

Gajeel mumbled something inaudible and then he rubbed his temples "fine, whatever,"

Small smile appeared on my face.

"That doesn't mean that you win this one…" Gajeel mumbled.

I shrugged, "whatever you say,"

A loud and long sigh escaped Gajeel.

"Is there any place that is safe?" Gajeel asked changing the subject.

I hummed in thought, and then I looked around the street.

"That is a good question…do you know what street we are at?" I asked

"Geez, this is your neighborhood and you don't know where you are at?" Gajeel asked.

"It's a bit hard when the street signs are passing by me so fast." I stated dryly.

Gajeel rolled his eyes.

"We are at WestWood," Gajeel answered.

I hummed in thought, "there is a library that I often go to that is near here."

"Is it closed for the day?" Gajeel asked.

"Yes and I do know the owner,"

"Perfect," Gajeel answered, "we'll make our way there and stay there for the night,"

"O-Okay," I stuttered, "but the-"

"What?" Gajeel asked interrupted me

"W-Well," I continued to stutter, "It's hard to explain."

"What so hard?" Gajeel asked

"The owner…is, uh…well, she's difficult,"

"Oh she can't be that difficult,"

'Oh she is…' a small sigh escaped my mouth.

"Anyway, lead the way, I'll be right behind you," Gajeel insisted.

I blinked a few times, questioning Gajeel's sanity.

"Okay," I shrugged.

We made our way down the library.

'Forgive me Porlyusica,'

I spotted the library about a block away.

Generally, I would make my way my way to the library from my place. As I would make my way, I would see the beautiful white marble sparkle in the sun light. However, circumstances were different. Gajeel and I were running for our lives in the dead of night.

A small sigh escaped my mouth as we got closer to the building.

There was a small balcony that sat above the front door. Both the balcony and the door were surrounded by large windows.

I could remember a memory that I had when I was little. I would press my little face against the window. My breathe would fog up the clean glass, then my mother or father would scold me for dirtying the window.

A small giggle escaped my mouth. Those were good times.

"What's so funny?" Gajeel asked.

'I must have giggled out loud,'

"Nothing," I mentioned, "I just remembered something funny,"

"What?" Gajeel asked.

"It's just a memory I had when I was little,"

I made my way up the steps.

Once we were finally at the front door. I stopped right in front of it. It was a large wooden door that, during the day was a green color. However, in the limited light that was available, it looked to be a dark green color.

I know what was going to happen and I was not going to enjoy it.

"Knock on the door," Gajeel ordered.

"I value my life," I muttered.

"You what?" Gajeel asked

"I value my life," I said louder.

Gajeel gave me a strange look.

"You knock then," I offered Gajeel.

"You're afraid to knock on the door?" Gajeel asked.

"I little," I admitted, but I have good reason, Porlyusica, the owner of the library, was known to have an awful temper.

I stepped to the side of the door and offered Gajeel to knock on the door.

"You're a baby," Gajeel grumbled.

Gajeel walked up to the door and loudly knocked on it.

"Oi, is anyone home?" Gajeel asked loudly.

"Shh!" I hissed, "Are you trying to wake the whole neighborhood?!"

"We have to wake up the owner right?" Gajeel asked.

"But Porlyusica is scarier when she wakes up," I shuttered in fear.

"Who's Porlyusica?" Gajeel asked

"The uh- library owner," I explained.

"That's strange name,"

"Your name is strange!" I snapped.

Just as we were in the middle of an argument, we both heard an angry female voice from inside the library.

'Oh shite, she's coming,'

"What in Mavis' name is knocking at my door this late at night?!"

The female voice continued to curse and yell as it got closer to the door.

"Is that a dragon cursing and yelling?" Gajeel asked a little uneasy to what was behind the door.

"It's worse than a dragon…it's a woman named Porlyusica…and she hates people."

"So, I hate people too,"

"But Porlyusica hates people more than you do,"

"A person who hates people more than I do…" Gajeel raised an eyebrow, "that's new,"

The front door flew open.

"Who are you and what do you want from me?!" an elderly yelled.

"G-Good evening Porlyusica," I stuttered.

The elderly woman turned to look me.

"YOU?!" Porlyusica, "what are you doing here?!"

"M-Ms. Porlyusica," I stuttered

Porlyusica was an elderly woman; she was light skinned and light pink hair. She had side bangs that fell to the side of her face and a tight bun that sat at the top of her head.

"Child, I gave you herbs to eat to make you grow taller…and look at you, you haven't grown at all!"

A small sweat drop fell at the back of my head.

Gajeel laughed loudly.

"And look at you!" Porlyusica, "you look so skinny!"

Gajeel laughed even louder.

"Shut up!" I yelled at Gajeel.

"And…how are you?" Porlyusica asked Gajeel.

"Gajeel, Gajeel Redfox" Gajeel answered.

Porlyusica gave Gajeel daggered eyes.

"You think you are so tough," Porlyusica challenged Gajeel.

Gajeel stuttered, he was a little shocked that the old woman challenged him.

"Speak up!" Porlyusica snarled.

"Porlyusica," I spoke up, "may we come inside?"

"Why?" the old woman asked.

"We are in danger,"

Porlyusica narrowed her eyes, "Why?"

"It would be better if we spoke inside where it is safe," I advised.

Porlyusica narrowed her eyes again as she looked at both Gajeel and I.

"Fine," Porlyusica spat, "but if you ruin my house or library I'm kick you both out,"

"Thank you,"

The old woman allows us to enter the library.

We entered the library, it was very dark in side, but the large windows allowed some of the moon light to enter library. There were many dark corners and spaces that were covered in darkness. But because I have been to this specific library, I knew my way around. If I really wanted to, I could have my eyes closed and know my way around.

"Follow me," Porlyusica ordered.

Gajeel and I did not hesitate as we followed Porlyusica through the dark library.

"So why did you decide to come here?" Porlyusica asked.

"We needed a place that was safe for the night," I explained.

"The dwarf here got us in a pickle," Gajeel explained.

"Excuse me?!" I snapped, "you were a double agent for Phantom Lord and Raven Tail!"

Porlyusica turned around to face us.

"You were what?" Porlyusica asked in complete shock and horror.

Gajeel rolled his eyes, "It's a long story,"

"'A long story'?"

"Shut up," Gajeel grumbled.

"Will both of you two just shut up?!" Porlyusica asked.

"S-Sorry," I stuttered.

The old woman gave a loud sigh.

"This is why I run a library…there is less people to deal with," Porlyusica muttered to herself.

We walked a bit more until we came to a door. It was hard to see being that it was covered in shadows.

"My living quarters is through this door," Porlyusica advised us.

The elderly opened the door and we walked past the entry way.

The first room that we entered was the living room and I was surprised as to how large it was. Being that it was dark, I could only see the outlines the objects in the room. I could see a chandelier that hangs on the ceiling. Just below the chandelier was a small sofa, enough for two people to sit comfortably.

On the other side of the room, there was a large window that allowed the light from outside to enter the room. Beside the window, there was a China cabinet.

"You two will be sleeping here for the night," Porlyuscia said.

"What?!" Gajeel and I said at the same time.

"I'll go get some blankets," Porlyusica said as she went to another room

"We are not sharing a couch," I explained.

Porlyusica did not answer.

Gajeel and I looked at each other for a moment. We both knew what the other was thinking. One person was going to get the couch, while the other was going to sleep on the floor or chair. We both ran to the couch, I tried to push Gajeel away from the couch. But the large man just chuckled at my pitiful attempt. Unfortunately, Gajeel got to the couch first. He leaned back on the couch and then placed his feet on the other side of the couch.

"This is comfortable," Gajeel responded as large and annoying smiling appeared on his face.

'Seriously?'

I gave Gajeel a hard glare.

"What?" Gajeel asked innocently.

"There is no room for me," I pointed out.

"And I should care…why?" Gajeel asked as he leaned back further.

"What do you mean, 'why'?!" I hissed at Gajeel.

"It's no big deal for a book worm like you to find a small and cozy place to sleep," Gajeel answered.

I was so fed up with Gajeel that I walked away from him. I walked out of the room and into the library.

Fueled with anger and annoyance, I only knew that one thing would calm me down…books.

I made my way down the aisles of books.

"Books…I need books," I angrily muttered to myself.

I found an aisle and entered in one of them and picked up the first book that I first saw. I didn't bother reading the title, I just opened it. I first read the page without much thought. Then I realized that I was in a library.

"I can use this time to research Phantom Lord, Raven Tail, Tartarous, and other things"

I placed the book back on the shelf. I jogged my way out of the aisle and looked at the alphabetical order.

Once I knew what book aisle I was in.

"Okay," I breathed as I clapped my hands and rubbed my hands together, "I need to find some information,"

Given the circumstances that everyone in Fairy Tail is in, the more information I can obtain anything about Raven Tail, Phantom Lord, and Tartarous the better.

I ran in one of the book aisles and began my search.

My eyes scanned the spines of the books. If the title of the book hinted of the following: hypnosis, pubs, or history of Magnolia. I would pick it up.

It didn't take long before my arms were full of books.

'I have to place these on a table,' I thought as I looked around the library.

If I put any more books in my hands, my arms would fall off. I could feel it in my arms.

I quickly made my way to the closest table and carefully placed the books on the table.

I jogged my way back to the book aisles to gather more books.

The process was repeated several times until the table was completely full of books.

'I think this will be enough for now,' I thought to myself as I rubbed the back of my head.

I pulled a chair from another table and placed it near the table full of books. I then processed to sit down on the chair.

'Here we go,' I thought as I grabbed my ribbon from my head and clumped my hair into a loose bun using the ribbon.

I pulled the first book and began to read. The book was a small history of Magnolia and London.

It felt that the words were traveling from the book through my skin and skull to my brain.

Much of the information I had already knew. It was just a matter of finding useful information that I can use to my advantage.

I kept reading until I read the whole book.

A small sigh escaped my mouth, there was not much information that was useful to use. Now, that does not mean it was useless. There was some information that I was not aware of, but for the situation that we were in, it was not necessary.

I placed the book in one area of the table to create a pile.

'On to the next book,'

The pattern continued as I absorbed information like a sponge until I was out of books.

I blew some stray hairs out of my face and then stretched my arms over my head; a large yawn escaped my mouth.

Leaning my body back on the chair, I looked up at the ceiling. It was dark, much like the rest of the room.

'I want to be useful,' I thought, I really do want to be of some use.

I am not known for being physically strong or extra originally pretty. But there is one that I did know for a fact that I am smart, in fact, I am one of the smartest members in Fairy Tail. The one who could easily rival my knowledge base is most likely to be Master himself.

"I can't day dream," I told myself

'I have to find more information,'

I leaned forward on the chair, picked up the next book at the table, and continued to look for more information.

'Maybe I should look into Seilah's Marco?' I thought.

I slowly got up from the chair and moved my back to the book aisles.

"There has to be something," I muttered to myself, "there has to be,"

I looked through the books and then there was one book that caught my eye.

The cover was old and weathered.

I blinked a few times as I took the book from the shelf.

I looked at it more and then I slowly made my way to the table.

The title read, "Hypnosis".

Quickly I opened the book and read the first couple of pages.

The book explained what hypnosis was, what it is used for, and different forms of hypnosis.

Then I found it.

The title of the chapter read "Marco"

Quickly I flipped through the pages until I found the chapter. It didn't look very long; it was just a couple of pages long. But considering how many books I've read trying to find any useful information…this could be my only chance.

The book said, "Marco is a rare form of hypnosis and it is especially hard to master. There is a small group of monks that is said to live in the mountains. Each monk's form of Marco is different; however, the result of the Marco is the same. To control one's body."

'That's definitely Seilah's Marco,'

"Legend has it when Marco was first developed, a king of a faraway land used to win a battle against a raid of furious warriors. It was after the battle where the people celebrated their victory. Everyone, the rich and the poor, no one was excluded from the large celebration. It was said that they celebrated for days but in one of those days the king accidently used his Marco and he was unable to stop. He continued using his Marco."

'This is not going to end well,' I thought as I continued reading the legend.

"Days after the celebration, the king was still unable to stop using his Marco against his people, servants, and family. The king's people had enough and were beginning to become concerned and afraid of their lives. Now that does not mean that the people tried to break away from the King's Marco. They rose against their king and tried to fight back. They even threatened the king's life on multiple occasions but instead of killing the king, the king killed them using his Marco."

'This is certainly not good,'

"The king killed and had harmed many of his people, it psychologically damaged the king. Then one day he left his people. He grabbed a robe, a cane, and a few pairs of clothes. So that he could not only stop harming his people but himself as well. It was said that he fled to a faraway mountain, away from people so that he could control his ability."

"The people called him "King Marco", the evil king who would control people for his pleasure."

My stomach twisted in knots, a part of me didn't want to finish the story but I didn't want to stop, I needed to know more.

"People from around the area tried to find the king so that they too could control people and win battles just as he did. However, the king only had one condition. If he taught Marco, they would have to learn and stay with him for the rest of their lives. As many would think, they refused and left. But a few did join. They had nothing else to lose, either they had either lost their family, their people, or had nowhere else to go."

"So," I sighed, "as a protective measure, he sacrificed his happiness, well-being, and isolated himself to protect everyone he loved…"

My eyes were beginning to water a little bit as soon as I was done with the story.

A small tear began to run down my face. Quickly, I wiped it away from my eyes. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and I saw Gajeel was standing behind me and his large hand gently on me.

"Come on," Gajeel responded, "You've been reading for hours…you need your sleep,"

"I'm fine," I answered as I sniffeled.

"Don't be a baby,"

"I am not," I answered dryly.

Gajeel raised an eyebrow.

I huffed; I turned my attention back to my book.

"I thought you were sleeping on the couch," I answered as I turned the page.

"Tsk, I can sleep anywhere,"

'Oh?' I thought angrily, 'if you could sleep anywhere, why did you take the couch?'

"Then why did you want the couch if you can sleep anywhere?" I asked as I gritted my teeth.

Gajeel gave a low growl, "seriously?"

I turned around to give Gajeel daggered eyes. Then I turned my attention back to the book.

"Yes and if you're not going to answer, I'll get back to reading,"

Gajeel let go of the shoulder and I assumed that he had left but then the chair I was sitting in quickly leaned back. I intensively let go of the book and I was clutching the sides of the chair so that I did not fall.

I leaned my head back and Gajeel was forcing the chair to lean back.

"What are you doing?!" I yelled.

"You're going to bed,"

"No," I hissed

"You made me," Gajeel answered.

I was not sure what he meant, but I found out what he meant. I was still leaning back on my chair and then Gajeel started to walk and dragged the chair and I right behind him.

"G-Gajeel!" I yelled, "You're going to ruin the floor!"

"And I should care?"

"This is not the pub!"

"I know, we're in the library, I'm not that dumb," Gajeel answered.

"Are you sure?"

"Don't get your panties in a twist," Gajeel grumbled.

"Stop being so grumpy," I mumbled.

Gajeel and I look at each other for a moment and then Gajeel continued dragging the chair and I.

"Would you stop it?!"

"Are you going to bed?" Gajeel asked.

"Why are you so concerned?" I asked.

Gajeel stopped.

We were there for a moment, both of us were silent.

"Is it because of Master?" I asked breaking the silence.

"No," Gajeel answered.

A small frown appeared on my face.

"Then what?" I asked.

"That's none of your business," Gajeel answered.

"It is now,"

"Would you stop poking your nose in other people's business, it's annoying," Gajeel growled.

"I didn't know it would turn out this way okay," I muttered.

"Of course you didn't," Gajeel said.

Gajeel let go of the chair and the chair jerked forward, so it was standing on all four legs again.

"What was that for?!" I snapped.

"Just keep your nose in the books; it's the only thing that you're good at,"

With that, Gajeel walked away in the darkness

I was left in the dark library.

'I know that is the only thing I'm good at and if that is so, I have to be the best at it,'

I got up from the chair, dusted myself off, picked up the chair that I was in, and made my way back to the table with all the books as I

'We all have our strengths and weakness and knowing your own weakness can make your stronger than before,'

Once I was back to the table, I gently placed the chair back down on the ground and sat down.

I picked the book up the hypnosis book and continued reading. But it was difficult, Gajeel's words were ringing in my head and I couldn't get them out.

Gently, I placed the book down.

'Calm down, we have different perspectives and different experiences that shape us,'

I took a few deep breathes, 'breathe, just breathe,'

I picked up the book and read.

"Because Marco hypnosis is rare, there is no known way to break Marco if being controlled. It is said that if one learns Marco hypnosis that they are able to break or release the Marco on them."

I gave a loud sigh, 'so there is no way of breaking a Marco once you're under,'

"That's great," I mumbled, "but good to know,"

'You can't completely break the Marco unless you learn Macro,'

"But how was I able to still move my body when I was under the Marco?"

'This doesn't make any sense,'

"If I was able to move, why wasn't Gajeel?"

More and more questions arose but I could think of any logical answers as to way.

"Maybe it will explain why if I continue reading?" I asked myself.

I turned the page, to see if I was able to get more answers. Anything would help. Even if it were a hint, I was smart enough to figure anything out, I am after all a relative of the Great Sherlock Holmes and if he could, so can I. I looked at the next page, but there was title for the next chapter on the next page.

A small sigh escaped my mouth.

"Well that's the end of that chapter," I muttered to myself in disappointment.

I leaned back in my chair.

'How was I able to move when Gajeel wasn't?'

I chewed on my lip as I thought. It didn't make any sense; Gajeel was in fact much stronger than I was. However, I was smarter than him…or at least book smart anyway.

"…Well, what does Gajeel have that I do not?"

'He has muscles, a temper, and a criminal history…'

A small sweat drop fell on the side of my head.

'I'm glad I don't have a criminal history,'

"But as for Raven Tail, Tartarous, and Phantom Lord, I'm likely to be on their list of 'dispose of'."

A small shutter went down my spine.

"Well," I sighed, "I won't get anywhere tonight, being that I got as much information about Seilah's Marco. It wasn't much. However, I know more about it than I did before.

I took a few books from the table to place them back in on the shelves.

"Besides," I said to myself out loud, "knowledge is power,"

Also, over the summer, I may create an account on DevianArt. I'm 80% sure. I have done a lot of arty things in the past and present. And when I do, I'll tell you guys where to find it.
