Epilogue: The Beginning of an End and the End of a Beginning
Eight Years Later...
The revolving doors were still in motion long after a man passed through it, with his hair slightly rustled due to the wind outside. The receptionists and few employees scattered on the lobby greeted him out of fear and respect. His curt nod was more than enough to consider as an acknowledgement to their presence. With long and confident strides, the tall guy crossed the expanse of polished marble floor, past the enormous vases of greeneries, leather couches and low oak tables, heading straight for the elevator. As soon as he was loaded inside the moving metal box, a ghost of a smile appeared on his pale face.
The ping slightly disturbed his tranquillity and he then made his way out. With his right hand on his attaché case, his left hand was holding a relatively thick envelope, not too much different from those wedding invitations adorned with patterns on its edges. He spared the object a look before his eyes fixed on the glass door where another man's taking office. Upon seeing the familiar tresses, he gracefully slid in, nodding at the woman stationed on a desk outside. As the seated officer took of another presence in the vicinity, his eyes expectantly looked up to the newcomer, with a bright smile on his face.
"I should have known! What makes you decide to drop by here? It's the middle of the day; unless you have an important reason for coming that you didn't even bother to call?"
A dark, low chuckled was the reply the newly arrived man offered. Shaking his head a little, he took the seat in direct opposite of the man behind the wooden desk. He casually slid the envelope on the smooth surface and noticed the pair of eyes following the movement.
"What's this?" A hand shoots forward. It began to fumble on the string that serves as the object's security.
"That is something that you're always been aiming for. It's high time you receive it." The visitor said, taking in the expression of the reader.
As the eyes raked over the paper's content, his heart was in sync with every word absorbed and processed by his brain. When he reached the end of the material, his mouth was agape, disbelief spread on his face, but it was not enough to mask the glee underneath it all.
"Is this for real?"
"That... is authentic and you know it. Why would I waste time just to trick you? I am not made for those kinds." Despite all the seriousness, there was amusement and indulgence in the man's tone.
"You've got to be fucking me. Hiraishin Corporation, one of the most outstanding corporations in the world! It's included in the list of Five Hundred Top Businesses internationally?!"
The other shifted while keeping his eyes on the awed man. "Yes, as you very well read. They haven't released any list yet to the public but recipients are already being informed as we speak. I'm guessing the business magazine will be out in a week. You know what follows it. An event for recognition and awarding, which you'll be attending this time."
The man nodded enthusiastically but abruptly narrowed his eyes at his guest when he realized something. "How come you had this letter?" He waved the papers he's holding. "Wasn't this supposed to be addressed to the Chairman or the President? And you're neither! I am the President. You're not even part of this company."
"Why, I took the liberty to have it personally delivered to you. The official release should be tomorrow. It happens that I want to see your reaction a day earlier."
The owner of the office rolled his eyes impossibly. "You're really one fucking sadist. Why don't you just admit that you threatened some people just to have your hands on this?"
The pale man's lips tugged upward. "Naruto, that's not threatening. That's what you call influence."
The man named Naruto snorted. "Right. I'm assuming your family's company is on the list as well."
"Of course. We've been constant awardees for years and we're not losing the streak under my management." The other business mogul smugly said.
"Still as arrogant as ever."
The man tilted his head ever so slightly, obviously amused by the other's remark. "Not arrogant Naruto, only confident."
"Yes, yes. I don't have anything more to say." He humorously eyed the man across him while his fingers trace the contents of the letter he had just received.
"How about finally saying yes to my dinner invitation?" The words were whispered softly, as the man held the gaze of the other.
There was a torturous silence in the room on which the man called Naruto put an end to. "I guess it's high time you receive my yes, Gaara."

"Where the fuck is the file for Capps?" A seething man hissed while he was rummaging on the entire mess in his black polished desk. Files, folders, glossy papers were scattered. His secretary and executive assistant did both grimace as they stand still, not really knowing what and how to respond to their superior who's getting infuriated by every passing second.
"What the fucking hell are you two doing, standing there dumbly? Help me find those files, now!" The man roared as soon as his sight landed on both females. The poor ladies hurried and commence their hunt for the elusive documents. After a minute, the secretary handed the pissed guy his target. A black folder which is quite thick with papers meticulously filed.
The pale hand grabbed the thing and walked through each page, the frown in his handsome face becoming less pronounced until it finally vanished when he reached the last piece of the document.
"Both of you can go." He gave them a brusque nod and the two scrambled out of his office. He then rewarded himself to sit on the leather chair. Barely a minute passed when another person entered the office, an amused expression painting his face as he take in the view before him.
"Looks like someone caused a disturbance here. I rarely see you disoriented."
The other snorted but started shifting and arranging the mess. He detests disorganization whether in his personal belongings or work stuff. He wanted everything in place, perfect down to the very last bit.
He looked up to the man. "Lyndon Capps is pressuring me. He demands the draft for his next contract with us two days from now. This is roughly a hundred page treaty and that man is always threatening me of changing firms if I can't hand him what he wants."
The newly arrived man hummed and took a seat. "Understandable." He murmured. "But Capps is just one man. You can do without him. I wonder why you always seem to please him."
The other one scoffed. "Please him? That's where you're mistaken. I want Lyndon to realize that he needs me more than I want his partnership."
"You're kind of doing a poor job then. It looks like he's the one having you in his palms."
There was a little castigation in the elder's tone but he didn't push it anymore, instead he placed an envelope along with a folder on the desk.
"What's this?"
The guest inclined his head. "I don't want to spoil it for you. Read it yourself."
The obsidian orbs moved rapidly over the content of the letter. He takes in every word and finally a victorious smirk appeared on his lips as he was done reading.
"This isn't much of a surprise you know."
"That's not what I'm pertaining to. Read what's inside the folder."
The pale hands moved as it unloaded the contents on the folder. The papers included the list of the corporations hailed to be the most prestigious and patronized. The eyes zeroed on their company name which secured a spot on the top one hundred businesses. As he scanned lower and lower, almost at the end of the file, he caught a name highlighted in orange marker. The brows furrowed and then it hit him. Eyes widening, he shot a look of disbelief at the man seated in front of him.
He found himself whispering, "Hiraishin Corporation? Isn't that his company?"
There was a glint in the black orbs as the man said, "Indeed it is. Now, foolish little brother, are you ready to see Naruto again?"

Two Months After...
Grandiose. It was the perfect word for the formal event playing before his eyes. He was not new to parties and celebrations. He had been in quite a few but the one he's attending at the moment made his past experiences pale, even unworthy of mentioning. His eyes were filled with glittering view of men and women who has their names engraved in the business world long before he was even conceived, they were larger than life, like gods who descended from Mt. Olympus and Naruto can't help but feel insecure, despite the amazement swelling inside of him. He was not a newcomer in the business field. He has long been a player in that arena but he was playing under the secured protection from their family business on which his grandfather entrusted him. But this time he was, as to say, on his own, representing the fruit of his hard work, his own hard-earned company.
Once more, his bright blue eyes swept over the venue. It made him realize the fact that he was indeed back on his country again, from the decorations adorning the whole place, to the uniform of the servers bearing their nation's colours down to some dishes on the menu. He was feeling nostalgic and at the same time there's apprehension eating his insides. Of all places, it was held back on his native land.
When he landed himself the complete list of the companies to be given recognition, his heart did a somersault when he read the most familiar of names, Uchiha Corporation. He's expecting it if he was to be honest with himself. The Uchiha's have been a prominent name in the industry and it's just very likely to see their name imprinted on that catalogue. He was deeply hoping that there'll be no need to cross paths with him and luck has been on his side. He had never glimpsed anything that remotely appears to be him. Not that pale yet smooth skin, nor the recognizable style of hair; the realization made his breathing easier.
The programme is about to start in another ten minutes. He has indulged himself with a little drink while waiting for Gaara. They were supposed to go together but the latter had received an urgent call the last minute and needed to attend to some important work-related stuff before he can proceed to the event. To kill time, he wandered at the expanse of the site, exchanging some pleasantries to some faces he learned to recognize because of his grandfather. He was beginning to get comfortable with the crowd because this is the set of people he'll be dealing with and probably be fighting with as he climb his way up, when a little disturbance in the entry way disturbed the peace. It seems another businessman with an impressive track record has come, very nearly late but that is such way. Prominent people always think of themselves as priorities and bluntly disregard what punctuality is. He sighed and decided to focus all his attention on his drink. Just then, the lights dimmed, signalling the start of a wonderful moment for him, or so he thinks.

"You know how much I despise it when people ogle at us, at me. This is all your fault, aniki." The man murmured to his older brother as soon as people started to swarm around them: photographers, interviewers, a handful of fellow businessmen and spectators. If it weren't for his sibling they wouldn't have been almost late for this event which has been occupying his mind the past two months.
The older one smiled serenely at the cameras in front of them. He stole a sideway glance to his annoyed brother but said nothing. Indeed it was his fault, but they weren't tardy, at least not in the formal sense. He continued to indulge the press for a few more minutes before he politely made their way out of their grasp. His little brother was following him, with that permanent scowl on his face. Throughout the years, the last of his relative grew colder, distant and dare he say, impassive. Maybe this day will bring a change, something for the better, something that will definitely make Sasuke a living person again.
They were led into a table situated at the front where the most respected names are. Taking his seat, Sasuke immediately scanned the place looking for the familiar blond tresses. He knows it; Naruto is in the same place somewhere. And he wouldn't waste this time to finally meet him again. Photographs and reports both public and private aren't enough. The moment is ripe for them to finally look at each other's eyes once more. Naruto can't evade him forever. He has so many things to say, so many things to prove, so many things to apologize for. They didn't part ways in the best of situations and even though he knows that the blond isn't the type to carry on grudges, Sasuke wants to—no, needs to explain himself. It wouldn't do to let the opportunity pass by.
His sharp intense eyes continued to inspect the people closest to him but with the number of attendees it would be impossible to take a look at every single person from his position. Deciding that his patience wouldn't last for long, he made his brother aware of his plan.
"I'm going to look for him. You stay here and deal with whatever this affair is all about."
Itachi narrowed his eyes. "Surely, you can do that later, after the awarding."
The younger of the two smirked. "Why would I wait when I can do what I want this instant? Itachi, take care of things for me. You know how much I want this." He rarely asked for any favour, with his pride and all, but exceptions are always there when it concerns Naruto.
"Hn. Do what you want. But don't come wailing at me when I get the limelight all for myself."
Sasuke snorted at his brother's effort to stop him. Itachi fully knows that it's a humourless attempt and one that Sasuke will never even consider. "I'll take that as your yes. See you around aniki."
Itachi smirked and said no more. The younger raven stood from his chair, clearly ignoring the questioned stares following his back. The programme has started and so is his hunt for him.

As he manoeuvred himself to a more secluded part, he was careful not to cause so much fuss while passing through well-dressed bodies and hushed conversations. He must have imagined it but for a moment there his azure eyes locked with deep onyx ones that caused his breath to hitch. He blinked a few times to make sure that he's not seeing things and he proved that he is not, simply because the raven smirked at him, arrogantly as he always have been! He abruptly broke the contact and wheeled himself out of his current position. Taking a few seconds to curse the red-hair for being late, he was desperately praying in his mind that the man was not Sasuke. But of course that would be like utterly lying to himself. He saw him almost gliding as he close the distance between them. There was a desperate air hanging around his former lover and Naruto can't decipher what that is for. He shook his head to clear his mind. Now is not the time to concern himself about what's bothering the Uchiha. For now, Naruto has to keep his distance, but until when and at what circumstances? He sighed. Stopping his track behind the enormous ice sculpture, he waited for him to come. It's time to settle the score.

He finally saw him. The man with the most blinding set of eyes. There are no questions that only one person has it. He spotted him standing almost at the corner, taking pleasure at the progress of the program. He was deeply mesmerized by the man taking the stage, an old guy who holds the position of Presidency for the International Group of Commerce. Sasuke can't blame him, that man is a legend. He would have been listening intently all the same if there isn't a more pressing matter at hand. Walking as silent as he can, he took step after step, with one destination in mind. But before he can be as close as he would prefer, the blond turned his head into the raven's direction and shock flooded his entire system.
Sasuke saw how his jaw dropped and how those eyes blinked rapidly as if he saw an apparition. If the raven was any lesser of a man, he would be laughing at the reaction but instead, a smirk found its way on his lips. But as soon as the blond saw it, he turned on his heels and walked away. Sasuke panicked, inside. He followed the blond, almost afraid that he blew his chance to talk to him but to his delight and intense relief, he saw Naruto stopped. It's now or never.

"Naruto..."
It was soft like his caresses during their heated lovemaking. It was tender, like his hold on him after their release. It was loving, like how Sasuke used to call his name before. It was heartbreaking.
Slowly, Naruto faced the dark-haired man. He was the same yet different. He still possessed the looks that made women swoon. He still has the air that demands respect and wards off any unnecessary conversation. He was still arrogant. He was every bit of the Uchiha Sasuke he knew back then yet he has changed. He was better-looking and definitely a successful and rich businessman of his own. His structure has become wider, taller, with muscles more pronounced. He's more handsome than ever. But more than that, seeing him again brought back everything.
"Sasuke." He acknowledged the man. His tone was not welcoming yet it wasn't any rude. He tried to appear unaffected by his presence but his heart was thumping loudly. It wouldn't surprise him if Sasuke can hear it.
A moment passed before the raven moved towards him, taking on his appearance, hungrily looking at him, devouring all of him with his eyes. Naruto can see the desperation again and the longing.
"It's nice to see you again." Sasuke said. His voice was low and deep and there's no other thing or person existing right this moment except for the man in front of him. Naruto didn't change drastically. He has still that youthful demeanour which reflects on his looks. It doesn't seem that eight years has passed. Yes, he grew taller but Sasuke still towers over him, not by much though. The blonde hair is still as bright and glowing, although it's much longer than before. The tan skin still as perfect as he remembered it. There's still the scars on his face. His lips, nose and eyes stayed the same. Sasuke was happy to drown on those deep blue orbs again. His emotions are piling up, any moment it would burst and he might just engulf the blond in his arms and never let him go.
The blond tilted his head. What should he say? That he was happy to see him? He tried to hear what his heart is saying. It says it was happy, that it longed to feel the man who loved it dearly before. But Naruto can't form the words. He was just too overwhelmed. It seems that what happened before, how Sasuke hurt him paled, like it was long forgotten. He wanted to feel being in those arms again. Maybe they can start all over again, now that they're adults. He wished that Sasuke has conquered his fears that he will be more confident and trustful of those who care for him. But he can only find that out if he and the raven will rekindle their relationship once more. And somehow the idea seems to be tempting.
"I—"
"I was looking for you." A deep voice interrupted whatever Naruto was about to say. He wheeled in and saw Gaara. The green orbs were not looking at him but at Sasuke who has his Uchiha glare activated for the newly arrived man.
Naruto wasn't able to say anything when the redhead's arm suddenly hauled him, causing him to slightly bump into Gaara's frame. He was about to reprimand him when one strong arm slipped on his side, pulling him even closer. He sought Sasuke's eyes and found them narrowed at the arm on him. When the dark orbs met his azure ones, Naruto knew that there are a lot of things about to change. For the better or for the worse, all of them have yet to be found out. The arm that snaked itself around Naruto's waist will decide their fate. Will it be a beginning of a new phase for Naruto or an end to something that Sasuke hopes he can have a continuation with?
~The End~
A/N: How was it? Not really lengthy but just enough to host their first meeting again after their parting. It shows of what become those two after eight years, technically just what they are now. I know there are many loopholes but I guess we can deal with those on the sequel ne? Since most who reviewed are asking for a sequel, I think I'll be making it after all but definitely it won't take as much chapters as this one. Well, I'm not too sure myself. Let's just wait for it.
