Jade POV
"Oh, I want to kill you." I say, glaring at my father. "How'd you find out?" I ask, ignoring the sputtering Tori beside me.
"I called to police station after you told me about what happened." Dad says, eating his dinner. "An officer, someone named Adam, wouldn't give a last name, told me who close you two were. Add that I could tell how much you hated when she wasn't talking to you." He says simply.
"Wait, Adam told you?" Tori asks, staring at my dad. "I find I want to hurt him." She says, shaking her head.
"I know the feeling." I say, my glare at my father increasing.
"So, how is living together?" Dad asks, staring at us, changing the subject.
"Don't change the subject. How did you know I was bi-curious? And don't tell me it was because of how I act around Tori." I say, slowly eating my salad.
"Your friend Cat." Dad says, surprising Tori and me both. "She told me a while ago that she thought you were into women. I didn't believe her until I saw how upset you seemed during the time she wasn't talking to you." He says casually.
"Cat thought I was into women?" I ask, stunned. "Did she happen to say why she thought that?" I ask, trying to figure out my thoughts.
"Just how you would stare at Miss Vega here on occasion." Dad says simply. "And I saw how you two acted when I was there for your play. I meant what I said about it by the way." He tells me, nodding with a small smile. "That and I saw how eagerly you hugged her after. The only other people you hugged were Cat, and Beck on rare occasion." He points out.
"And how the hell did you know about that?" I ask, staring at him.
"Cat. I guess you could say she was a spy for me when I started to want to act like your father, instead of the guy who gave birth to you." Dad tells me.
"You had Cat spy for you?" Tori asks, staring at my dad.
"Wait." I say, cutting off my dad. "When did you have this change of mind?" I ask, curious about something.
"A few months after your play. Why?" Dad asks, sharing a confused look with Tori.
"Was this around the time that Cat was all into her costume making, and Beck did that stunt for Tori?" I ask, staring at him.
"Yes?" Dad asks, confused.
"What about it?" Tori asks me, a small smile forming on her face. "And thank you for helping me out with that stunt." She tells me.
"Remember when Cat made that suit costume, saying she was 'Cat: International Spy'?" I ask Tori, an amused smile on my face. "And welcome. Though I didn't do it to help you. I was kinda hoping you'd pee yourself." I admit, shrugging my shoulders.
"You're thinking she was spying then? And she just made that costume to go with it?" Tori asks, my father confused.
"Yeah. But the difference is, I have the feeling dad didn't ask her to spy, Cat did it all on her own and just offered to spy for him." I tell Tori, glancing at my dad.
For the rest of dinner, we make small talk, with me mainly trying to get some info out of my dad.
"Are you planning anything for a job, with your boss going to jail?" Dad asks Tori after paying for dinner.
"Way to be subtle, dad." I say, walking to the door, Tori and my father behind me.
"I'm looking now. Nothing set yet." Tori says as we leave the restaurant.
"Would you like a job at the firm?" Dad asks her as we head for my car.
"Seriously?" Tori and I say at the same time.
"We could always use more people. And Marianne will be retiring soon. She'll need a replacement." Dad says, heading for his car.
"Marianne?" Tori asks, confused.
"A receptionist on the second floor, where they usually keep things organized." I answer, unlocking the doors to my car. "It's an easy job, especially for a people person like you." I tell her.
"Stop in tomorrow for an interview." Dad says, opening the driver's side door to his Audi. Never understood why he has an Audi. I always saw him more as a Mercedez guy. "I'll tell the guard to be expecting Victoria Vega." He says, sitting down and closing his door, his car starting a moment later and he pulls away.
"That was unexpected." I say with a small smile as we climb into my car. "You gonna show up?" I ask as we close the doors and put our seatbelts on.
"Worth a shot." Tori says as I start the car.
"I say go for it. It'll be fun to have you there to bug every once in a while." I say with a smirk.
"Who's to say you'll get the chance?" Tori asks playfully.
"I'll find a way." I say, heading home.
"How should I dress?" Tori asks after a few moments of me driving.
"Same as I do, really." I answer, stopping to get gas.
"What kind of things should I expect?" Tori asks, climbing out with me as I pump gas.
"Don't really know. Each floor has it's own thing. I've never been in the 'file floor', as it's called." I say, swiping my credit card starting to pump gas.
"Can I ask you something?" She asks me after I finish pumping.
"Shoot." I say, putting the nozzle away.
"What made you start to be bi-curious?" She asks as we climb back in my car.
"Honestly? No idea." I say, starting the car. "I guess you always being there for me helped. That and I didn't exactly hate seeing you and Cat changing when we did that stupid 'Favorite Food' thing." I say, shrugging.
"Yeah, sorry for feeling you up to get your boobs in that costume by the way." Tori says, looking away.
"You know, I actually kinda liked it. A lot better than when Beck used to. He was always too rough. You caressed." I say as I drive.
"Really?" Tori asks, surprised.
"Yeah. I guess that helped the whole 'liking girls' thing too." I admit as I drive to our apartment.
"They're nice and squeezable." Tori says. When I look at her, shocked by her words, I see her blushing.
"Not to get your hopes up, but you want to go out on a date tomorrow night?" I ask suddenly, looking at the road. "See if it'll help me figure things out?" I ask her as we pull into the complex.
"Wait, seriously?" Tori asks, looking close to bouncing in her seat, hope in her eyes and tone.
"Seriously." I say, parking. "Dress hot." I say, shutting off my car and leaving.
"You don't think I'm hot?" I hear her ask, the passenger door closing soon after.
"One way to find out." I say, pushing to button to lock my car door.
Next chapter will be the date.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to your reviews.
