CH24- EPILOGUE
Its been two days since mitsuomi's return from the King's Realm, he decided to let Zoken dread and fear the day he would return for the rest of his life. Mitsuomi sat in front of a grave in a Tokyo Cemetery, he wore black military pants with boots and white muscle shirt with the M43 hat tipped low. He stared at the grave with a cigarette hanging from his mouth, "Rest in peace Kyodai" he whispered, on the headstone five names were inscribed. Mitsukuni, Soichiro, Hiro, Itsuki and Zwei. Mitsuomi wiped a stray tear, "we were a family first and enemies second but in the end..our bonds are what we have" he said softly, as he stood. Mitsuomi turned his back to the grave, removing his shirt on his back a tattoo of a skull with six swords jutted from it, on each blade a number, ichi, nii, san, yon, go, roku, "this will carry our bonds forever...oh and don't worry about Reina..she will be fine" he smiled. Mitsuomi put his shirt back on, as he left the grave, behind him the visages of his fallen brothers smile as he leaves.
Soul Society
Isane and Unohana head to Squad one for a Captain's meeting, many people stare and smile seeing a four-month pregnant Isane. People were happy for her but at the same time sad that the child would be fatherless. Isane tried her best to be brave in the face of mitsuomi never coming home but she held hope staring at the ring on her finger and the baby growing inside her, "Isane are sure you will ok?" asked Unohana. Isane smiled, "I'm ok...If I feel bad..I'll head back" she assured. The two conversed some more as they arrived, Captain Ukitake stood outside with Rukia at his side, "Hello you two" he smiled and Unohana and Isane greeted them. Rukia stared curiously at Isane's pregnant belly, "Do you know if it's a boy or a girl yet?" she asked. Isane smiled rubbing her tummy, "I would be happy with either" she smiled.
"Maybe you will have twins" commented shunsui, walking up. Isane blushed and shuddered at that prospect but she thought it would be great to have twins, one boy and one girl. The Captains and Lts headed inside as the meeting got underway. Soifon looked at Isane she walked in, "that bastard better come back" she thought. The Soutaicho sat at the head of the assemblied group, "We will now commence this Captain's meeting" he boomed. The meeting went on for about thirty minutes, as the different squads made their reports, "Thank you Ukitake...Now we will discuss our missing Captain" yamamoto boomed. Isane shuddered hearing his words, since his disapperance mitsuomi's name came up at every meeting, "It has been four months since Captain Kiriyu's disapperance and Central 46 has informed me that we can no longer keep his post vacant...Today we will vote for a suitable replacement...as the new Gobantai Taicho" he stated. The captain's looked at each other murmuring, Isane wanted to outright cry, "they have no faith in him" she thought. The Soutaicho slammed his cane getting their attentions, "We will vote on the new Captain...the choices are Ichigo Kurosaki and Renji Abarai" he boomed, again there was a collective gasp. Renji looked shocked hearing his name as a canidate to replace Mitsuomi, rukia was equally shocked hearing ichigo's name. The Captains talked among themselves as well as did the Lts. Momo approached Isane, who almost looked like she wanted to faint, "Daijobu...Isane?" she asked. Isane only nodded, "I'm alrite...its just seems they're giving up on him" she whispered.
"I know but...we have to keep the faith Kiriyu Taicho will come home" momo assured. Yamamoto boomed his staff once again and the assembly took their places again, "We will now vote" he boomed but before anyone could speak.

The Hall doors opened revealing a figure dressed in black military pants and boots with white muscle shirt and a black M43 officer's hat, "What is the meaning of this?!...Who are you?!" shouted Kensei. The figure's face was hidden in shadow and under his hat, he took several steps forward when two guards tried but both fell easy to him. The figure continued his march between the two rows of Captains, his boots heels echoing in the room. Kenpachi looked him over and grinned wide ready to strike. Soifon made an attempt but her attack went him, as he if he was a hologram. The figure stopped in front of the Soutaicho, the others were ready to draw on him, when he dropped to one knee bowing to Yamamoto, "I've returned Head Captain" he uttered. Yamamoto chuckled slightly, "So you have...Kiriyu Taicho" he responded.(song ends)
The assemblied Captains and Lts had a collective gasp hearing the Head Captain's declaration, "Mitsuomi...Is that you?" asked Ukitake.
"The one and only" mitsuomi smiled, removing his cap to properly show his face. Isane watched from her place, she desperately wanted to run to him and hold him but went against that when felt a slight kick from her baby, "what will he say" she thought. Yamamoto cleared his throat, "Make your report...Kiriyu" he boomed. Mitsuomi nodded turning to the others, "My report is...Thanks to the efforts of...Soifon Taicho...Lt's Kotetsu...Kuchiki...Abarai...Ichigo Kurosaki...Yourichi Shihouin...5th seat Asuka Sayko...Squad 4's Maiyu Aisou..and Kisuke Urahara...The dark Legacy and the flames of war have finally been extinguished...but It did not come without loss...My fourth seat Saburo Gio lost his life as well many others" he stated but the last part softly. Mitsuomi walked back towards the door, when he was face to face with his princess, "Mitsuomi" she cried embracing him. Mitsuomi locked his arms around her waist lifting her, "I'm home...My Love" he whispered. Mitsuomi picked up her up bridal style disappearing out the door, the other were shocked but happy for them, "Well...the motion to dismiss him is Null...Meeting Adjorned" boomed the Soutaicho.

Mitsuomi and Isane arrived at a bench under a tree near Squad four, mitsuomi sat down while Isane stood in front him, "You know...I've gone over this a few times...as what I would say to you...when I came home...Some times its hard for me to express how I feel...so I hide behind smiles and smirks but you saw through it and loved me just the same...Isane...Thank you for loving me" he whispered. Isane embraced him with his head on her stomach, "Loving you was easy...besides...you've gave us a future...their's a new life here" she replied. Mitsuomi looked up shocked to Isane smiling face, "when...how?" he asked.
"I found out a month after a you left...I'm four months along now" isane smiled, running her fingers through his hair. Mitsuomi wrapped his arm around her waist as a tear fell from his face, "I'm so happy" he whispered.
"So am I...we'll be a family soon" isane smiled. Mitsuomi stood and embraced Isane once again kissing her, wrapping her arms around his neck. The kiss lasted several seconds, when suddenly, "Mitsu-nii!" a voice shouted. Mitsuomi and Isane turned to see a young woman with short boyish black hair and green eyes wearing a sky blue kimono, "mitsu-nii...you're home...thank goodness" she smiled. Mitsuomi had a look of confusion but before Isane could tell him, "Isane...who's this?" he asked, a tick mark appeared on the girl's head. Isane pointed, "Mitsuomi...its Reina...due to her injuries...she had to cut her hair" Isane explained. Mitsuomi looked reina over, he started to snort and laugh, "Reina-nee...i can't believe it...you look like a boy" he laughed, several more tick marks appeared. Mitsuomi continued to laugh holding his side, when reina punched him right in the face, "Shut up...Idiot" she said, clenching her fist. Mitsuomi fell to the ground holding his nose, "geez...calm down" he whined, holding his nose, "then why did laugh?" reina asked seething. Mitsuomi sat thinking, "well...It was funny" he replied. Isane sweatdropped and Reina this time kicked him. Mitsuomi got up running being chased by reina, "Come back here...Baka!" she shouted. Isane smiled watching them run back forth, "thats your daddy...little one" she smiled, rubbing her belly. Mitsuomi has returned and life returned to normal, Squad 5 is happy to have their Captain back. Reina joins the squad as their new fourth seat, honoring the memory of Saburo Gio. Saito Gio mourns his son's passing in his own way but is thankful the war is finally over. The months fly by and just one month after giving birth, mitsuomi and Isane stand at the altar ready to begin their new life. Isane wore a beautiful flowing white wedding gown, in her arms a cute baby boy with black hair with eyes like his mother, across from her was her mitsuomi. Mitsuomi wore a dapper tuxedo in his arms a equally cute baby girl with blue eyes and silver hair. It seemed shunsui prediction was true and The Kiriyu's welcomed twins to the world. Yamamoto slammed his cane, "I...Now pronouce you husband and wife...You may kiss the bride" he boomed. Mitsuomi and Isane kissed to cheers of the friends and guests, the babies coo in their arms. They turned to the guests, "For the first time ever...I Present to you all...Mr and Mrs Kiriyu and their children...Yukiko and Mitsukuni" shouted Yamamoto. The guests clapped and cheered to the new family.
