A.N: Since we're getting mutated baby ninja turtles this chapter, I posted a drawing on my DA account just for reference if you guys want to see how I imagine baby turtles. You guys can just go to my profile on here and the link under Deviantart gallery will take you to my folder of random fanart.

Katie Gibbs: It's ok, I never got the riddle even the second time, if that were possible.

Beawolf's Pen: Lol, since the story takes place mostly in 1997, I knew I couldn't make a joke out of High School musical here. But I did reference it sort of. When she says "There is no song in the world" that can explain her excitement for summer, it's sort of referencing the song Summertime.

I don't own TMNT

Mutation Day

The bell rang and I sprinted out of the class room like The Flash. I was the first one out before anybody could yell, "Summer." I ran into the hall where everyone was cheering and throwing papers around like they didn't care. Oh, wait, they didn't. I laughed as I ducked under people and swerved around teachers. I was going to head to my locker when someone who was standing there pushed themselves in front of me and I tried to side step away. Their shoulder hit mine and when I got by them, I looked behind me to see Hannah giving me this look. It was a knowing smirk with a mix of hate and malice. She said to me, "I said a month, now times up, Wallaby."

"I don't get what you're warning me about? Is it the end of the world or something?"

"Or something." She said innocently. Then she turned around and walked off through the crowed of screaming teens.

I rolled my eyes, "Can she be any more dramatic?"

))))))))))))))) 1997 Hamato's POV (((((((((((((

After I had purchased them, the man, Francis, as he introduced himself, put the turtles in a small glass bowl full of dirt and a little plastic tree inside. "Since you don't have a tank for them yet, you can use this for about a week until you get supplies."

"I'll probably come by tomorrow and get the supplies here." I said as he placed the bowl in my hands. "Right now I'm in a hurry."

"By all means, come on over." He said. "Tell Callaby I say hi."

"I shall do so then."

"Thank you again, Mr.….."

"Hamato."

"Mr. Hamato." He repeated.

"Good day." I began to walk out the door.

"And to you, too."

I walked out the door and stopped to look down at the four new turtles I had bought. They seemed to be happy now, maybe knowing they were going to a new home where they can be loved and cared. I could tell, especially since one started rolling on its back. One turtle came around and with its head, pushed the turtle back into an upright position. I laughed and then looked down the sidewalk. I thought it would be best to come back the way I came instead of trying to find a short cut. I was already late for lunch with Callaby, but I hopped she would understand. She was the one who mentioned to me that the turtles needed a home.

I retraced my steps and looked down at the turtles again. I looked at one who was trying to climb up the plastic tree but ended up sliding back, hitting one that was behind him which hit another one. The last one to get hit went around to the one who had tried to climb the tree and bit on that little turtle's tail. That one scurried away and faced it, watching that turtle come after him. Suddenly, the one who stood on the side the whole time stepped in between the two. It was great to see that the theory that Francis had might be true. They certainly acted like brothers. Even though we were friends, Oroko Saki and I would usually just wrestle over the littlest things. I was suddenly hit with an image of my friend, coming at me with his extendable blades.

I was shaken, thankfully out of the memory when I felt someone walking by me, bump again my shoulder. I looked behind me as he walked by and this man didn't even look back at me. This strange man just continued to walk like nothing had happened. He seemed….off. Something inside me screamed to follow, so, as I was taught, I followed my instinct. I noticed he took a turn in an alley that I had just passed. I turned and did the same thing he did. I made sure I was quiet on my feet as I tracked him down a few more small little streets and alley's until he rounded a corner on his left. I stopped by the edge and put my back against the wall and I only let my head peek around the corner.

I looked into the alley and saw at the other end, there was the man that bumped into me earlier and then someone else standing in front of him. The odd thing about these two is that they looked identical, not only in clothing but in face and hair cut as well. I shrugged it off as a relation, maybe twins, and looked where they were standing. They were actually out on the sidewalk on what looked like a secluded street, maybe loading are where trucks pick up their supplies. But instead of a truck, there was a white van parked by the sidewalk where they were.

As I tried to listen in to their conversation, I felt something go up my leg near my ankle. On instinct I shook my leg and a furry thing fell out on to the ground. My eyes widened when I saw it was a rat and I tried to just hold in shriek or any sound threatening to come out of my mouth. I lifted my foot up and with it tried to shoo the rat away but it wouldn't move. I shook my head to try and ignore it because I had to listen in on what these men were doing. I looked around the corner again and saw that they had finished talking and one of them had at some point grabbed something. As he handed it to the other man, I took a closer look at the item he had. It was a cylindrical glass container and inside it held some sort of green and glowing liquid. I was amazed at this sort of thing I had never seen or even heard of. I tried to go through my head and think what I knew could glow green but nothing came to mind.

I didn't realize that I had started to lean forward when I finally put my foot down and stepped on the rat's tail. It gave out a squeak like shriek and it echoed throughout the alley. As it ran away, I clenched me teeth and looked up and around the corner. The two men had heard the cry and were now marching towards me. I stepped around the corner and faced them. One of them said in a mechanical like voice, "Go no further. This place is a place where you are not allowed to be in this place." I was going to step back but I heard the same exact mechanical voice behind me. I turned around and face two other identical men like the ones in front of me. One of them said, "We have been seen in this place by you, so this is not a place that will be left by you." Even though they had a very crude way of speaking the English language, I was able to at least understand what they meant. I saw them do something that no one could see, and now they need to get rid of me….the hard way.

All four of them surrounded me, cutting out any way of escape for me. I felt something tap the glass bowl I was holding and I looked down, realizing I still had the bowl of four turtles in my hands. I remembered something in my training as I held the bowl in the crook of my right arm. The exercises my teacher gave me were protecting the ball. He had one person hold a ball while other students tried to grab it. It was like our own version of keep away, but with a lot of attacks. I closed my eyes, took a breath, and waited for the first move. The one in front of me on the left struck with his fist out while the other came out to grab me. I kicked the one on the left in the chest and the other punch in the face. With the foot I just kicked with I swung myself to stand and face the two other who were behind me before.

One tried to kick me but I side stepped and then ducked, sweeping my foot to make him fall. The fourth one grabbed me by the arm that I held the bowl of turtles in and immediately pushed my head back. The back of my head hit his face and he let go. I stepped away from him and held the bowl tighter to me. I didn't realize the first two had come back for me until on hit me on the side. I didn't double over, I stood my ground and punched him and the other one to the ground. Something went flying, I didn't know what it was…..until I felt something hard shatter on back. I yelled out and dropped the bowl on accident. I fell to my knees and looked around, trying to see what had hit me. I felt something drip down my shoulder and when I checked, I saw green glowing goo like substance. I looked at the ground and I figured it out once I saw the whole floor around me was covered in this weird liquid.

Before I could do anything though, a sudden burst of pain went through my body and convulse. I felt like every muscle in my body was burning, every bone stretching and changing. I screamed as I felt the pain get stronger and unbearable. My face felt like it was elongating, my feet getting bigger, my cloths getting tight and getting ripped through my growing skin. I yelled out again as another and stronger burst of pain course through my body. And then everything just went blurry as I fell to the floor. I saw movement of four figures leave the alley I was in and I guessed they were the men that I had just fought. I heard the sound of a car door opening and closing, and then the screech of tires on pavement. The last thing I heard was the sound of a motor fading and the crying of a child as I blacked out.

))))))))))))))) 1997 Callaby's POV (((((((((

Once I was done cleaning out the last of my locker, I ran out of the school. Luckily, I had already taken my class books earlier this week, so I wasn't running down the roads with a heavy backpack. Lucky thing, too, I was still grounded from using my skateboard. I had been running for about half an hour until finally I was out of breath and I stopped right outside and alley way. I leaned over a little and put my hands on my knees. I smiled and finally stood up straight again, putting my arms out to feel the sun on my skin. "Ah summer."

I heard the sudden sound of a car that was coming from the alley next to me and I turned just in time to see it come to a screeching halt a few inches away. I yelped, backed up a little, and covered my face to protect myself. Ok, I knew that hold my arms in my face wouldn't do anything but i wasn't expecting someone to run over me at that moment. When I heard that everything go silent, I looked up to check if I was alive. Yes I was alive. Next, I checked what dumb idiot practically ruined my happy moment.

There were two guys in the front seats of this big white van. These two looked so alike, they could be twins. They didn't say anything, they just stared at me with blank expressions. "Um, hello? Sorry about the being in the way…." I waited for them to respond, but they did nothing but turn to each other and say something. I said, "Well, while you guys talk to each other about how you just almost ran over a girl, I'll be leaving."

I walked out of their path from the alley way to the street and began to head back towards my place when I heard someone say from behind me, "The one called a girl should learn that lesson which is known as to stay off of this which is known as its way."

My mouth dropped open and I turned to face the guy on the passenger seat who had just talked back to me. "Are you being sassy?" I asked angrily as I marched up to his window, "Listen here….um…..crude….English speakers….you um….." I didn't know a good comeback so I just kicked the car door and said, "Watch where you're going! Stupid head!" And I ran, not wanting to hear any more bad English being screamed at me. I turned a corner and continued to run off when I heard the sound of the same motor drive up to me. I stopped and looked back to see the white van drive past me and run over a puddle on the street that splashed water all over me. I stood there whipping water off my face as the van drove off. "Oh he did not just….argh!" I didn't want to run in wet cloths so I decided to take a bus the rest of the way home.

)))))))))))) 1997 Hamato's POV (((((((((((((

I woke up to the sound of crying. "Nani?" I sat up on my knees…or at least I tried. I fell back down again because I couldn't get up for some reason. I did a sit up to look back and see why my feet weren't working and gasped when I saw…big giant….rat feet. I stood up quickly and said, "No." I scrambled to stay on my new formed feet and continued going, "No….this can't be." I looked at my arms which were now covered in brown fur and looked at my hands which had elongated and had nails like claws. The palms were a smooth pink and I had lost my pinkie finger. "No…..no….." I looked at me whole body to see it was all covered in brown fur. "How…." I grabbed my head in surprise but I ended up touching my big ears. My eyes widened and I let my hands travel down to my face. I had a long muzzle and whiskers. "No…..No, I'm….." I felt something move….something that was attached to me. I slowly turned my head and saw a long and pink….tail.

I let out an ear piercing scream which lasted for a few seconds until I heard a tinier scream follow it. I stopped to look around who screamed with me. When I couldn't see anybody, I looked down and saw a pair of blue eyes stare at me. The owner was a small and green humanoid creature which was crawling on its knees. It had a shell on its back and a plastron on its chest. "Wait…you are….a turtles!" It gave out a laugh which shocked me and I took a couple steps back, but since I still didn't know how to walk on my new formed feet I fell on my back onto the concrete. I sat up and looked around the alley to see he wasn't the only one. There were three others, two of them who were looking like they were wrestling and another which was lying on its chest sleeping. Or maybe it was hurt? Wait….four turtles? These were my pet turtles….the ones I bought not but a short time ago! How long was that? How long had I been out?

I managed to stand up on my two hind legs and look at my surroundings. I looked up and saw that it was a little pass noon, due to the suns position. I then I looked at the floor and saw glass and dirt everywhere. I guessed the dirt and most if the glass was from the broken turtle bowl, but there was some glass that came from a broken piece of that odd container the man had. Now it lay empty with a hole in the glass. I picked it up and looked at the deserted sidewalk they were at before. "Where did they go?"

I then heard the sound of an ambulance and police sirens start come towards us. Someone must have heard me scream and reported it! If they see me, they'll think I'm hostile, if anything that's what I would think if a saw a giant rat. I attempted to run but I got tangled on my tail and I ended up belly on the floor, chin scraping the pavement. I knew that the only way to run was to do it the rat way and go on all fours. I was going to take off to where ever when I heard the sound of whimpering.

I looked to my right and saw the blue eyed turtle again. He looked at me as if he were asking me to take him. I knew I had to, I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I knew what the police were going to do if I didn't bring them along. I thought of the experiments that they would do to them, needles poking a prodding them. The different labs they would take them to and maybe then eventually…. My thoughts were interrupted when the sound of sirens were now closer than comfortable. I had to get us out of here, they'd search the whole entire alley, and this was the only place we could hide without running into public. I tied to search for an escape route when I saw a metal manhole cover just a few feet in front of me. "The sewers…..oh why must fate do this to me?" I heard the sound of screeching tires and I knew my time was almost up.

On instinct I grabbed the blue eyes turtle with one arm and tried to run on my other three. When I got to the manhole cover, I popped open the lid and quickly jumped down, thankfully landing on hard concrete and not sewage water. I put that turtle down and said, "Stay put." He seemed to understand as just sat there and blinked. "Good." I climbed the metal ladder back out and grabbed the other two that had been play fighting. I did the same thing as before and put them next to their blue eyed companion. I went back out for the last one which I saw had been lying on the ground. I didn't have time to check if he was alright, I just had to make sure he wasn't spotted. I ran back with him in the crook of my left arm but I stopped as I saw the canister that was the cause of all this. What was that green ooze and why did it change him and his pets into monsters….. I picked it up and put in my mouth to hold. I climbed down the ladder and shut the manhole cover over me. At the same time, I heard the sound of cars right outside and people running in and stopping in the alley.

I heard officer's scream, "There's no one here."

"What are we looking for?"

"Hey, there is some broken glass, but no windows are broken."

"What the hell happened here?"

"Get the detective."

I stayed there listening to the men overhead as I caught my breath and huddled on the concrete with the turtles in a sewage tunnel.

A.N: OMG! I did it…and I hope I didn't go too off canon, but I made the fight more bad ass, I think. See, Callaby met the Kraang, but she didn't know then. She just kicked the side of their car and told them off, Oooo! I sort of referenced Lilo and Stitch there. Poor Hamato, can't walk, confused, all this crazy stuff happening. We get more, next time. Be sure to check out my baby ninja pick on DA. I'm KikaKatTIOI, peace out!
