A/N: Wow. Can I just take a minute to thank all of you? This story has approximately 24 reviews… per chapter… which is far more than any multi-chapter story I've ever written. (Second closest being 12 reviews per chapter.) This means so much to me, considering just two years ago I was a tiny beginner writer with dreams of clichés. I definitely never expected this story to have more than three reviews total.
So yeah. All of you mean the world to me, and I have a smile like a birthday every time I see that one of you reviewed. :) Whether you're a new reader, or an old one, I love you to death.
So let us begin.
In Which No One Understands What's Being Said.
(A Story With Too Many Descriptions, and Misused Big Words.)
Compendious, concise, comprehensive synopsis of my epic chronicle: In which, one, Perseus Jackson engages in colloquial intercourse with the object of his affections Annabeth Chase concerning the matter of an odyssey.
Authors Note: It is my greatest wish that you, the reader, shall peruse this anecdote with an expansive and unburdened psyche.
On a harmonious, pastoral and quiescent day the great sky-candle shimmered and cascaded, descending to the crust of this great planet Earth. The feathered creatures of the brilliant extensive blue sky circumnavigated the azure heavens with their wings outstretched. On the ground in which Perseus strolled, flowers of the Lily, Daisy, and Gardenia variety grew slowly in soft tendrils upon the earths floor, shrouded in alluring chromatisms of bloodless, milky white. Some flowers were yellow, the color of happiness and a warm summers day, and some were red, the blood of angry men.
And so Perseus strutted with purpose towards the object of his affections, his truest of true loves Annabeth Chase. He needed to talk to her about the manner in which he would be journeying towards his goals end. He would undertake an odyssey. A journey in which he would successfully attempt to solve the most difficult and trying puzzle concerning the camps future and eternal safety. Precautions must be taken into account at all times, and Perseus Jackson set out to make it his personal duty to guarantee the safety of those around him.
"Greetings, Annabeth Chase! I wish you a most beauteous day."
"Salutations to you, my friend! And many happy returns for this lovely a day. May I ask what has brought you on such a campaign to this side of the grounds? Not that your loving presence is not fully enjoyed."
"I have come to speak to you about the manner of my trek, promenade, and peregrination into the great uknown of the worlds cerulean sea's briny deep. Also, I have come approached to catechize you on the matter of whether or not you would accompany me on this grave quest."
"Why, Perseus! I know not what sort of means of travel you partake in, but I will be overjoyed to consort with you on this occasion. When shall we depart?"
"We depart in the morrow at sunrise. I have already requested permission from our fine authority figures, and they have granted us their loving permission to sojourn on. Now, if you shall be kind enough to excuse me, I will now proceed to make my humble way back to my humble abode humbly."
"Cool! See you later Percy!"
"Yeah, sure thing Annabeth."
"Tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow."
How it should have happened:
Summary: Percy has a conversation with Annabeth about going on a quest.
A/N: Hey! I hope you can read my story with an open mind. I worked pretty hard on it, and hope you enjoy it!
It was a beautiful, peaceful day. The sun was shining, and flowers were all over the grounds of camp. Birds were flying in the bright blue sky, and everything seemed okay to Percy.
He was headed to see his true love Annabeth to talk to her about going on a quest. He needed her advice on how best to travel, and wanted to see if she would be willing to go with him. The quest was about the safety of the camp. There may have been a slight issue concerning the magical boundaries, and Percy had taken it upon himself to fix whatever problem arose. He saw her, and walked towards her."
"Greetings! And many happy returns for so lovely a day." He said, giving her a hug.
"Someone woke up on the pretentious freak side of the bed today. What's with your 'odd manner of speech.'"
"I'm not sure… I just sort of felt like mixing up my greeting today."
"Oh well. Maybe we could start over?"
"Yeah… that sounds good… Hey Annabeth!"
"Hey Percy. It's a beautiful day, isn't it? What's up?"
"Look, I wanted to talk to you about a quest."
"A quest?"
"Yeah, a quest. You know the safety's been sort of whacked out over here, and I wanted to try and gain assistance with someone. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to go about doing that, and I would also like some company… that is, I sort of want you to come with me…"
"Of course I'll come with you! When are we leaving?"
"Tomorrow morning."
"Cool. I'll see you then, right?"
"Right. Thanks Annabeth!"
And so Percy spent the rest of the day preparing for his journey, and never spoke with big words he didn't know the meaning of again.
Besides, it's not like the story had much plot anyways. It was just a tool for the author or authoress to show off how smart she thought she was.
The end?
A/N: So yeah… that happened. Any story that requires a dictionary to read, and a thesaurus to write, has some pretty serious issues. But holy cow, that chapter was difficult to write.
Much love, and don't forget to review!
