Ta-da! New chapter! I have nothing to say here, so, onwards!
Disclaimer-thingy: I do not own Warriors, because that would be crazyyyy.
"You see," Willowshine started. "I was having an awkward conversation with Mothwing, and I started poking a shell, and then I realized that it was shell and I yelled it out loud. So, everyone kinda jumped up and started fighting for it."
"Ah," the three said in unison. The they jumped back into the fight. At first, Willowshine was exasperated, thinking that they had gone loopy in the head again and were trying to get the shell, but then she realized that they were trying to pull the other cats apart, and started helping. Well, she tried helping, but she hadn't been trained much on things like fighting, and some of the cats were kicking furiously, so she backed out to prepare some herbs instead. She doubted that no one would come out of that fight without at least a scratch on the shoulder.
"What are you doing with the herbs?"
Willowshine jumped, startled, and upset a pile of comfrey leaves. "J-just preparing some in case the fighting cats out there get hurt."
Mothwing peered out the den entrance. "I don't see anyone fighting. Except the kits, but they're only play fighting." Willowshine peeked out after her, and was startled to see everyone sharing tongues, rather than doing 'what they had been doing before.' She trotted out cautiously, but nothing changed, other than a few cats glancing at her as she passed, so she made her way up to the high rock where Mistystar was basking in the evening sunlight. "How are you not fighting anymore? I mean, a moment ago the whole Clan was trying to rip each other's ears off, and no you're just sitting here!"
Mistystar blinked. "We decided peace was a better approach to the matter, so we stopped."
"But… that doesn't explain how you all settled down so quickly."
"It was a gift. A gift from StarClan."
Willowshine looked skeptical. "I'm sure it was."
Purdy just grinned evilly, even though cats can't grin.
"I said-"
He was cut off when BreezeSTAR screamed, "run for your lives!" and raced off in another direction. Most of his cats followed him, and the few that were left behind trembled in fear.
Purdy looked at the gathered cats. They seemed to be the only ones who wanted to listen to his stories long enough to stick around. Maybe the story he was telling was too scary…? "Well, before he could finish that sentence, I knocked 'im off his paws and ran away, because he was bein' really creepy. So he fell on the ground and I ran away, but he started chasin' me! So what'd I do? I kept runnin'! Runnin' and runnin' and runnin'! And I was so full of adrenaline and whatnot that he stopped chasin' me because he was tired and I was too fast, but it could have been because I left his territory."
The insane WindClan cats stared at him. Though Purdy thought they were amazed at his feat of escape, they were actually surprised that he hadn't started torturing them with feathers or something. So Purdy beamed at them, grinning, even though cats can't grin. "And that's how it 'appened!"
Mosskit stared after the old medicine, the shrugged and bounced off to continue her search for Bluestar. "Bluestar?" She looked up and around at the sound of snapping twigs, but nothing seemed wrong, so she continued to pad along. "Bluestar?" There was the snapping again. She looked around.
And that's when her mother jumped out of a tree. "Gah!" Mosskit screeched, startled.
"You called?"
"Er- Yes?"
"Too bad!" And Bluestar ran away screaming like a twoleg she-kit. Mosskit stared after her before remembering that this was the cat she was looking for and bounding in the same direction.
Meanwhile with Yellowfang…
Yellowfang stalked through the forest. "They're all crazy," she muttered. "If they would just take the chamomile I offered them everything could go back to normal and we could cure the Clans and live peaceful lives like we're supposed to." Then a thought came to her. Wait… I'll visit a medicine cat in a dream! Hm… Not Mothwing, she doesn't really believe. Not Willowshine, she's too busy dealing with RiverClan. Not anyone from ShadowClan, they're all crazy, and Jayfeather's been infected by Mosskit, so who else…? Oh! Echosong! Perfect.
"Eh…"
Meanwhile with Squirrelflight and Firestar in the forest of ShadowClan…
"How could you betray me, Squirrelflight?"
The she-cat blinked. "Huh? Betray you? Why would I do that?"
"You were playing with ShadowClan cats!"
She stared at him for a moment, then laughed. "You've got it all wrong, we were fighting a fierce battle! One unrivaled by anything the Clans have seen!"
Firestar stared for a moment in confusion, before remembering that Squirrelflight had somehow already been at the ShadowClan camp before the rest of the warriors got there. "Uh… I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but you were play fighting."
Squirrelflight looked crestfallen. "But… I could have sworn I had this huge gash on my left side…" She looked, but there was nothing there. "Why, cruel world!"
"Squirrelflight, I think it would have been crueler of the world if it left a large gash in your side."
His daughter immediately brightened up. "You're right! I can't believe I never realized that- I am a genius, after all."
Firestar stared at her again, just for a moment, before shaking it off. "Come on, we need to go back to camp."
"Of course we do!" She leapt to her paws.
"But first we have to find the others."
Squirrelflight tipped her head quizzically. "Others…?"
"Yeah, I brought some other warriors with me."
Squirrelflight's mouth dropped open. "Really?"
"Yes, now let's go." And with that, he bounded into the undergrowth.
Mapleshade paced back and forth in the Place of No Stars, contemplating the events of the Gathering while listening to sounds of the rest of the Dark Forest cats partying. We need to put all the cats under the effects of the Plant. That would make it totally wayyyyyyy easier to take over. But the question is how? There's no way anyone would listen to a Dark Forest cat, and I have a feeling that using the cats who are training here won't work… She thought for a bit before the solution came to her, and a wide grin began to spread over her face, even though cats can't grin.
She knew exactly what needed to be done.
Okay, so, a warrior of StarClan appeared in Echosong's dream… Yeah.
Echosong woke in grassy clearing ringed with trees on all sides. In the middle was a pool surrounded by a rather pretty plant. She approached the pool, careful not to crush the flowers, and peered in. Her reflection wasn't there. Instead, she saw two plants, and she could smell both of them. One was vaguely familiar, it smelled sweet and delicious, but when she tried to snatch at it she just created ripples in the surface of the water. The second plant was the one that Petalnose had brought back after chasing down her kit.
As she watched, the plants seemed to 'float' until they were all mixed together. The plant that Petalnose had brought to camp, which Echosong noticed was the same one edging the pool, was overwhelmed until it could only just be seen from her birds-eye view. The flowers that had cured the crazed kit started to grow until the sweet plant was forced out of their little group, and it started to wither and die. But then she noticed that there was still on, ever so small patch of the sweet plant mingling at the edge of the flowers, though it too was soon forced out and died as well, and the flowers flourished and grew to an immense size.
Hearing a sound behind her, Echosong turned and was faced with a dark grey she-cat with a flat face, and blinked in surprise. "Who are you?"
The she-cat rolled her eyes. "I'm Yellowfang, former warrior then medicine of ShadowClan, former medicine cat of ThunderClan."
"Oh."
"I need your help. A strange plant has invaded the four Clans, and those who have eaten it have become… Insane."
Echosong tipped her head. "Like Frostkit?"
Yellowfang nodded. "Do you know what that vision means? The one in the pool?"
The SkyClan medicine cat pondered this for a few minutes. "Um… No?"
The grey she-cat sighed. "Take some time to figure it out, but don't take too long. Just so you know, that plant surrounding the pool is called chamomile."
"Ah… Okay. What's that rumbling noise?"
A sound was indeed getting closer, a very loud sound.
If Yellowfang had been a twoleg, she would have paled. "Ah, you see, StarClan and the Dark Forest- that's the place where evil cats go- also got infected by this sweet plant called 'stevia,' and I'm the only one in the afterlife who is still sane. Before I sent this dream to you they kinda figured that out, and now they're hunting me down because they want me to eat it too."
And that's when the StarClan warriors, medicine cats, kits, apprentices, and leader poured into the clearing. All of them. It was a wonder they all fit. The last thing Echosong saw as her vision faded was Yellowfang being force fed stevia, and then… She woke up.
I'm getting better at making longer chapters! Hurray! 1,563 without authors notes! That might not be a long chapter, but it's still better than those itty-bitty chapters I was grinding out before, isn't it?
Frostkit was just a random name I came up with on the spur of the moment, so don't kill me if the name is taken in SkyClan!
I completely forgot about the Dark Forest! Gah! But that has been fixed. :D Please review! I want to reach 100 soon. :)
