Hey everyone. Thank you for being so patient with me. I'm trying hard to update, but sometimes, I have a lot more going on here. But again, I try for all of you. At least we're almost done with this story. I hope. Actually...I'm getting a small case of 'writer's block'. It's killing me and I'm trying to find a way to make the ending, and battle scene good. I have a little idea, but it's small. I won't tell you, of course. I'll see if I can make it happen.

Chapter 25

"Wahoo! Run like the wind, White Fang!".

The three back riders along with their transport, White Fang, were just inches away from the lands where Mephiles' kingdom resides. The beast huffed and puffed remembering the scent of it's old home knowing that it was getting close. Knowing that after being left behind and being taken care of by a villager who it was supposed to kill, the rest of the beasts roaming around the grounds would possibly attack, even if they knew their fellow brethren.

Along the way, Sonic was catching as much air as he can in his nose feeling the wind blow through his quills. He loved the way it felt to go fast, riding White Fang was much more fun since the beast could go a bit faster equal to his normal spead. Behind him, Lancelot only kept his eyes on the path and mind set on two things.

Find Amy.

Kill Mephiles.

Behind him, Espio had the same exact thought in mind. Both knight and travelor were very eager to find their lost mates and kill the kidnaper. Of course, they would also try their best to free any trapped soul inside the castle, hoping they would find living ones than dead.

The path started to grow dark, deserted, and frightening. The trees around them were dead including the path they took. The sky grew gray almost like it was about to storm. White Fang looked up sniffing the air as it ran faster. Sonic noticed quickly stopping his actions and turn serious, "We're getting close." he spoke up a bit loud for them to hear.

Lancelot's ears twitched hearing his words carefully, "We need to think up a plan in order to get in alive." he sugested.

Sonic nodded, "But how? Who knows how many 'guards' he has outside the walls of his home?" he asked.

"A diversion." both hedgehogs looked back at the chameleon behind them, "Sonic, you know how to handle this beast, so if you and...'he' go out and cause enough trouble, they monsters will attack you giving me and Lancelot time to run in and find the girls.".

The knight nodded, "I agree with the plan.".

"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Hold your horn there!" Sonic shouted, "Why do I have to be the dummy in this?!".

"Because your faster and like he said. You can only handle White Fang." Lancelot explained.

"So?! I don't wanna die like that! Give me another very good reason why?!".

Espio glared at him like he was growing tired of his ranting, "Think of Amy! She's in there with a psychotic king using her for whatever hellish stuff he has plans!" he told him before his glare grew much more demonic, "And if you don't follow the plan, so help me, I will personally feed you to the monsters myself!".

Both Sonic and Lancelot stared at him both shocked and completely surprised. He may have lived a few days with him, but he had never seen this sight before. Sonic finally gave up and sighed turning forward, "...Fine...I'll do it." he said, "Only for Amy, got it?!".

Espio only nodded knowing the plan is now in session. Even though he doens't like to use his temper to solve problems, in this case, he deserved to show that much in order for him to work. Lancelot stayed quiet now back in his head thinking of a plan for himself to get to Amy in one piece and get her out before anything happens. The three could only hope and pray that this rescue ordeal will be finished without anything happening.
