Chapter Twenty-Three : Songs At A Coffee Shop
Author's Note: TO BE HONEST, THIS IS PROBABLY THE WORST CHAPTER OF THIS WHOLE STORY; IT CONSISTS OF A LOT OF SONGS AND VERY LIMITED STORY. So, please don't judge this chapter to the rest of the story but still read it :)
Disclaimer: Only own the storyline.
Ally's POV
Once we got to the coffee shop, I smiled at all my regulars who were already there awaiting my arrival. The first to notice me was a brown-haired girl, who vigorously nudged the boy next to her, it looked like they were dating at fifteen. Aw, young love.
"Ally," Another girl whispered in awe.
"Hi, uh um, I'm here to do my set again. Sorry I wasn't here last week," I apologized as I made my way over to the little-stage.
Once I got there, I got the mic, "I brought along Austin Moon, have you guys heard of him? He's sung here before."
"Yeah...yes...oh, I remember that guy, he was here before...omigosh, hell yes!" I heard murmurs from them, some more excited than others.
"Yeah, well, this is the guy my recent songs have been about, and now we're together," I explained to them, and they all looked at me happily, "Well, I've only got two songs to play you and usually when I'm not here for a week I give you three or four, so I got Austin to sing two of his brand-new songs he's been working on for you guys. Afterwards, we're gonna grab a coffee, so if you have anything to ask us or anything like that - you can. So, uhm, yeah."
Austin chuckled at me from the back, taking a seat next to a girl who looked about sixteen.
"This song is called 'Made In The USA'. Hope you guys like it." I fixed the mic to my mouth, and put my guitar strap over my shoulder and began to play the tune.
"Our love runs deep like a Chevy
If you fall, I'll fall with you baby
Cause that's the way we like to do it
That's the way we like,"
Austin smiled at me as I went into the next verse, and my other regulars were smiling at me, obviously happy with it so far. Hopefully. I hope they didn't mind Austin singing after.
"You run around open doors like a gentleman
And tell me, "Girl, every day you're my everything."
Cause that's the way you like to do it
That's the way you like,"
Austin continued to smile, his hazel eyes twinkling at me singing while I began to sing the pre-chorus.
"Just a little West Coast, and a bit of sunshine
Hair blowing in the wind, losing track of time
Just you and I, just you and I
Whoa, whoa,"
I smiled then, watching my little regulars bob their heards to the music and seeing them smiling too.
"No matter how far we go,
I want the whole world to know
I want you bad, and I won't have it any other way
No matter what the people say
I know that we'll never break
Cause our love was made, made in the USA
Made in the USA, yeah,"
I raised my eyes that were previously fixed on my guitar strings and they landed on the small audience in front of me. There was even a girl smiling and giggling to herself - did I have something on my face, or something?
"You're always reading my mind like a letter
When I'm cold, you're there like a sweater
Cause that's the way you like to do it
That's the way we like,"
I tore my eyes from her and scanned the faces of my regulars' smiles as they grew while I sang.
"I'll never ever let the world get the best of you
Every night we're apart, I'm still next to you
Cause that's the way I like to do it
That's the way I like,"
The nights before when Austin was still playing random cities without me knowing where he was until he called the next day flashed before both my eyes.
"We touch down on the East Coast
Dinner on the sky rise,
Winter is the best time for walking in the city lights
You and I, you and I
Whoa whoa,"
Once I'd sang that, the chorus came and during that, Austin's eyes burnt through me, forcing me to look at him and to smile to same amount as he was back while I sung.
"No matter how far we go,
I want the whole world to know
I want you bad, and I won't have it any other way
No matter what the people say,
I know that we'll never break
Cause our love was made, made in the USA,"
And then the bridge came, which I always like singing as it's the build-up; but my favorite part to sing of all songs was the last bit because there's more longer notes and more passion to put into it.
"Cause baby I'll bite the bullet
And take the blow for love
Whoa oh oh, our love was made in the USA
Made in the USA, made in the USA,"
I held that note for a little longer and I went into the next part.
"No matter how far we go,
I want the whole world to know
I want you bad, and I won't have it any other way
No matter what the people say,
I know that we'll never break
Cause our love was made, made in the USA
Made in the USA, yeah,"
Then, in a softer voice as the music slowed.
"Made in the US
Made in the US
Made in the USA."
Once I'd finished, I remembered how awesome them clapping for me was.
Laughing at myself, "Thank you! So, uh, the next song I'll be singing was inspired by a big row I had and I found out that not all boys are the same. Some aren't good, but some are amazing, the ones who stick around. So, this next song is called "Stay, Stay, Stay" and I hope you guys like it."
So I sang it. The song was about Austin and I's big fight, and about how he didn't leave when the water got rough; how he stayed. Mainly about how I wanted him to stay forever.
My regulars definately loved this one more too, I knew this as by the last chorus - they were actually singing the words.
After this, I introduced Austin.
"Hey, so now I'm gonna go sit down with you guys and let Austin sing two of his own songs that haven't been released yet - so you get to hear them before anyone else has. So, this is Austin Moon."
Austin came to the stage, I passed him my guitar and he said 'hello' to them as I sat down next to a girl with dyed-red hair that I hadn't seen before. As soon as I sat down though, she whispered, "That was amazing, you're really talented; I'm Holly."
"Hey uh, thanks a lot. I love playing here."
Once I'd said that, Austin began to sing his first song, which was named, "From Where I Stand".
"Turn to the side and see what the mirror sees
But mirrors only reflect insecurities
From where I stand, you're beautiful,"
For the first verse, he gazed at me, only at me - and he didn't move his eyes from mine - there just looked into mine as he sang.
"You slim down with every face you see in magazines
Don't let them change the girl in front of me
From where I stand, you're beautiful,"
His eyes still melted into mine; but eventually, when the chorus came, his eye-contact moved to see the rest of the small audience sitting next to me.
"So, don't hide your scars
I want all you are
Oh-oh oh, from where I stand, you're beautiful
Oh-oh oh,"
The first part of the chorus, while he sang the 'oh's' made me think of that he was actually singing the song he wrote about me; when I got insecure.
"So don't change a thing
Other girls mean nothing
Oh-oh oh, from where I stand, you're beautiful
Oh-oh oh,"
The music slowed into the verse tempo again, as he carried on for the next verse.
"Open your eyes and see the way I stare at you
You turn away and blush, 'cause you don't think it's true
From where I stand, you're beautiful
No no no,"
The next part came along as he diverted his eyes from the others near me, and landed back onto me.
"You think you don't compare to those celebrities,
I look around, but you're the only star I see
From where I stand, you're beautiful
Oh-oh, oh,"
He sang the chorus once more, as Holly began to get more into the song, and so began to bob he head along with the beat - a smile tugging on her lips.
"So don't hide your scars
I want all you are
Oh-oh oh, from where I stand, you're beautiful
Oh-oh oh,"
"So don't change a thing
Other girls mean nothing
Oh-oh oh, from where I stand, you're beautiful
Oh-oh oh,"
After he'd sang the chorus again, the bridge came along.
"Well perfect's overrated
And your beauty's understated
But you got, you got, you got
You got it all
So don't you be mistaken
My love ain't ever fading
Cause you got, you got, you got
You got it all,"
Then the chorus came once more.
"So don't hide your scars
I want all you are
Oh-oh oh, from where I stand, you're beautiful
Oh-oh oh,"
"So don't change a thing
Other girls mean nothing
Oh-oh oh, from where I stand, you're beautiful
Oh-oh oh,""So don't hide your scars
I want all you are
Oh-oh oh, from where I stand, you're beautiful
Oh-oh oh,"
"So don't change a thing
Other girls mean nothing
Oh-oh oh, from where I stand, you're beautiful."
After that song was over, the small audience clapped, including me as a huge smile took over my face.
"So that was my song I wrote a few weeks ago, but started it quite a while ago. So this next song I wrote not too long ago, uhm.. I hope you like it, it's called, "Must Have Done Something Right"."
He played his guitar, and happily got into it.
"We should get jerseys cause we make a good team
But yours would look better than mine, cause you're outta my league
And I know that it's so cliche to tell you that everyday
I spend with you is the new best day of my life
Everyone watching us just turns away with disgust
It's jealously, they can see that we've got it going on,"
I liked this one, it was upbeat and happy. I loved the song previous, but this one was more happy and just more Austin.
"And I'm racking my brain for a new improved way
To let you know your more to me than what I know how to say
You're okay with the way this is going to be
This is going to be the best thing we've ever seen,"
The pre-chorus was good too, and I had a feeling this could be this next single if he releases it properly.
"If anyone can make me a better person you could
All I gotta say is I must've done something good
I came along one day and you rearranged my life
All I gotta say is I must've done something right
I must've done something right,"
This song definately was recent, as I only got told by Dez a few days ago that I changed him into a 'relationship guy'. Which is a lot to say; me changing someone into something I'm not...
"Maybe I'm just lucky cause it's hard to believe
Believe that somebody like you'd end up with someone like me
And I know that it's so cliche to talk about you this way
But I'll push all my inhibitions aside
It's so very obvious to everyone watching us
That we have got something real good going on,"
He came back to the pre-chorus, which was still amazing.
"And I'm racking my brain for a new improved way
To let you know your more to me than what I know how to say
You're OK with the way this is going to be
This is going to be the best thing we've ever seen,"
And then back to the chorus, yay! No wait, double-yay!
"If anyone can make me a better person you could
All I gotta say is I must've done something good
I came along one day and you rearranged my life
All I gotta say is I must've done something right
I must've done something right..."
Obviously, I don't own any of these songs - Ally's were Demi Lovato's song and mentioned Taylor Swift's song; and Austin's were Max Schneider's From Where I Stand and Relient K's Must Have Done Something Right.
I know this chapter was awful, but I kinda like the next chapter which should be up soon :)
BYE! Hope you're all enjoying your summer!
