Rachel didn't want to open her eyes. She felt if she did Quinn wouldn't be there and everything that had just happened would have been a figment of her imagination. But it had been real. Everything that had happened in the last five minutes had been real. She was still replaying it all in her mind. The way Quinn's penetrating gaze had her heart hammering in her chest as she confessed she was falling in love with her. Just thinking about it had Rachel feeling breathless—that or it was the electrifying kiss they had just shared. Whichever one it was, Rachel was still reeling.

"Rachel?"

She felt Quinn's warm breath on her lips. Yup, it definitely was real.

Rachel opened her eyes to find Quinn gazing at her intently. Her eyes scanned her face as if she was checking to see if she was alright. Rachel was more than alright.

"Wow," she exhaled shakily, "that was…" Rachel trailed off.

Quinn giggled. "I know."

Rachel ducked her head bashfully. She grabbed Quinn's hands which were caressing her reddened cheeks and held them in hers.

"What does this mean?" she asked timidly.

She was hoping Quinn would tell her that this meant the start of a relationship. She was very hopeful. But she also knew that the blonde had just broken up with Sam. It was unfair to him for Quinn to just jump into another relationship, regardless of the fact that he already knew how they felt about each other. It just wasn't right.

"I'm not sure, but what I do know is that I can't just be friends with you, Rachel," Quinn answered.

Rachel nodded. They definitely couldn't go back to being just friends. Not after that kiss. It would be too hard to resist kissing her again. What they needed was to go slow. Not too slow, but slow enough. Maybe a date would be a good place to start.

"Well, maybe we can start things off slow. How do you feel about going on a date with me?" Rachel asked, biting her lip nervously.

A light laugh escaped Quinn's lips and it made Rachel's heart swell to hear it. God—how she loved that sound.

"I would be honored," the blonde grinned. "But only if I can take you out first."

Rachel pouted adorably. "Why can't I take you out first?"

Quinn smirked. "Because you've never been taken out on a proper date and I want to be the one to do it. That date with Puckerman? Yeah, doesn't count," she stated.

"What do you mean it doesn't count?" Rachel raised an eyebrow.

She agreed that her date with Noah wasn't really the ideal date she had hoped for. Still, she wanted to know the reasoning behind why Quinn didn't think it was a proper date.

"He flirted with the waitress," Quinn deadpanned. "And he couldn't even drive you home to walk you to your door. I had to do that—not that I minded, by the way. But you deserve so much more, Rachel."

Rachel couldn't resist leaning in and kissing Quinn again. She was just too wonderful.

"Okay," she breathed as she pulled away, her heart racing from the chaste kiss. It was unbelievable how a simple touch of lips had such an effect on her.

"Good," Quinn smiled. "Keep Friday open. Next week is a bye week so I don't have to cheer."

Rachel furrowed her eyebrows. "What's a bye week?"

"It's basically a break for the football team. And us, I guess," Quinn answered with a smile.

"Friday it is, then," Rachel beamed.

The girls didn't rush to head back to the house. Instead they snuggled up against each other and enjoyed the view of the small lake and the lit up trees surrounding them. They didn't talk much, but only because they really just enjoyed being close to one another. Rachel had her arms wrapped around Quinn's waist while the other girl had her arm wrapped around her shoulder, holding her close so that there was absolutely no space in between them.

Rachel knew that eventually they would have to talk more about what was happening between them. For one, would they be going public once they made their relationship official? Rachel wasn't completely sure, but she had heard Quinn's family was quite religious. Was that going to be a problem?

Then there was a matter of Rachel telling her father. She had no idea how he was going to react. She wasn't ashamed of her sexual orientation, but she did hope her father would be accepting of it. She didn't want to hide her relationship with Quinn. She only had a few weeks left and she wanted to spend every minute of it with her.

Rachel hoped to learn everything that there was to know about Quinn. She wanted to know what her dreams and aspirations were, what made her tick and what she enjoyed—not just the surface details but everything. She wanted to know more about Quinn's family as well. Rachel even hoped to meet them if she could.

There were also things about herself that she had yet to reveal to Quinn―like the fact that her mother was a famous actress. Kurt had reacted quite well to the news and didn't treat her any different. She hoped Quinn would do the same. There was no question whether Quinn's feelings were sincere, but she still worried about her reaction.

As the night continued it began get cold and Rachel suggested going back inside. She had felt Quinn shivering and didn't want her to get sick.

The girls held hands the entire way back to the house. Rachel couldn't help but steal glances at Quinn as they walked. The blonde had the biggest smile on her face and Rachel couldn't get enough of it. It made her heart swell to think that Quinn was smiling because of her. She always wanted to be the reason behind Quinn's smile.

As they approached the backdoor Rachel felt a tug on her hand. She looked over her shoulder to see Quinn standing still. She furrowed her eyebrows and turned around to see what the matter was.

"Quinn, what's wrong?" Rachel asked, looking up at the girl in front of her.

Quinn looked at her with a crooked smile. "I want to do one last thing before we go in."

"Okay, what is it?" Rachel smiled.

The brunette didn't even have a chance to react before Quinn was leaning in to kiss her. Just like earlier, Rachel's heart burst as their lips met. Shivers ran up and down her spine as she felt soft hands weave themselves into her hair. Was it even possible that this kiss was even better than the last?

Rachel let out a whimper as she kissed back with vigor. She wrapped her arms around Quinn's neck and brought their bodies closer. She definitely wasn't cold anymore.

"I hope that was okay," Quinn panted against Rachel's lips. "It's just that I know once we go in there I can't be like this with you because of Sam and the others, and I just really wanted to kiss you again."

Rachel smiled and instead of saying something in return she leaned in to kiss Quinn instead.

"It's more than okay," Rachel breathed, moving only an inch away. "I wanted to kiss you, too. I just didn't want to seem overzealous," she giggled, her eyes shining. "Besides, we're supposed to be taking this slow."

"This is slow," Quinn grinned. "We're kissing, not rounding second base."

Rachel raised an eyebrow. "So kissing is allowed?" she smirked.

"Most definitely," Quinn gave her one last peck before dragging Rachel inside the house without another word.

It was hard to ignore the stares they received as they walked back into the rec room. Immediately Quinn and Rachel were separated as they were dragged away by their respective best friends. They were both interrogated and both girls told their friends the exact same thing. For one, they told them that they had kissed—and two, that they were taking things slow. While Blaine and Kurt agreed that it was the best course of action to take, Santana and Brittany weren't too enthused.

"Are you fucking kidding me, Q?" Santana hissed. "Taking things slow? What are you, in fucking kindergarten?"

Quinn glared. "I just broke up with Sam, S."

"So what?" Santana shrugged. "It's not like he doesn't know you and Berry have the hots for each other. He'd be stupid not to think you two would eventually hook up."

She did have a point. Sam knew how she felt about Rachel. It wouldn't be a surprise to him, but she knew it'd still sting.

"Even if Sam was okay with it, there's still the matter of coming out. My mom isn't exactly the most open-minded person, San. Rachel still has to tell her parents, too."

"Your mom might freak out but I doubt she'll do something crazy like disown your ass. She loves you, Q. She won't do that. And if she does, you can stay with me or Britt," Santana told her.

"Totally," Brittany nodded. "It'll be like a permanent sleepover. Rach can come too!" she clapped.

Quinn smiled. "Thanks, Britt. I'm just not sure what Rachel wants to do. There's still a lot to figure out."

"Then I suggest you figure that shit out," Santana retorted. "In case you've forgotten, the dwarf is only going to be here for a few more weeks. Do you really want to waste your time 'taking it slow' when you can make the most out of your time with her?"

Quinn's stomach dropped. She had completely forgotten about Rachel's departure. Everything was going so perfect that she didn't even think about her time with Rachel being limited.

Well… shit

"You're right," she sighed.

A shit-eating grin stretched across Santana's face. "Damn right I am," she said arrogantly.

"I'm going to have to talk to her about it soon. We have a date on Friday but that's days away," she said, running a nervous hand through her blonde locks. "Monday, I'll talk to her then. Tomorrow's Blaine's last day in town and it would be wrong of me to take time away from them."

Santana nodded. "Just don't worry about it so much, Q. Everything is going to be alright. Berry is totally not going to be opposed to picking up the pace. She wants you just as bad. And I doubt daddy Berry is going to have a problem with you two being together. He loves the gays. He'll probably throw you two a pride parade."

Quinn's cheeks reddened. If only they knew that she already had Hiram's permission to date Rachel. She wasn't worried about that. She was more worried about her own mother. She really hoped her mother wouldn't react too badly. She really loved Judy, regardless of the shitty job she had done as a mother since her father left. She was doing a lot better, though, and that gave her hope.

Across the room a slightly similar conversation was taking place between Rachel, Kurt, and Blaine.

"So are you going to tell you parents? Do you think they'll be shocked?" Kurt asked.

Rachel shrugged. "I'm not sure if they'll be shocked or not, but I am going to tell them. I just don't know when."

Blaine turned to Rachel. "I think you should tell them soon. I honestly don't believe they'll have a problem with it. Your parents are incredibly accepting."

Kurt nodded. "I don't know your mother, but your dad seems like he wouldn't be too disappointed. He did just sing a very gay rendition of 'Under Pressure' with Santana," he chuckled.

The brunette laughed. It was pretty gay.

"I know, but it still has me nervous. How did you feel when you came out?" she asked Kurt.

Rachel knew Blaine's coming out story wasn't dramatic as most since his parents had claimed to have already known he was gay since he was a kid. She wondered how Kurt had done it living in a small conservative town like Lima.

"I was a wreck," confessed Kurt. "I was scared my dad was going to beat me and then kick me out on the street. You've seen my dad; he looks like a total hick. I thought he was going to disown me for sure. But he didn't. He told me he loved me and that I would always be his son no matter what."

Rachel grinned at the heartwarming smile on Kurt's face. She was incredibly happy for him. There were so many LGBT youth that were considered disappointments by their parents and then tossed out. She was glad Kurt's father wasn't like that.

"See, Rach? If Kurt can come out to his dad, so can you," Blaine told her.

Rachel nodded. It was true. Even if her dad wasn't as thrilled as he would be if she was straight, she knew deep down that her father would never abandon her.

"You're right," she sighed. "I have to tell him soon. As for my mom, I haven't talked to her in a while but I would prefer to tell her in person. This isn't something you just say over the phone."

Kurt and Blaine both nodded.

For the rest of the night Rachel and Quinn stayed with their respective friends but once in a while they would steal glances at each other and exchange knowing smiles. At one point in the night they all sat down to play an innocent game of truth or dare and the two girls just so happened to sit next to each other. It wasn't a coincidence.

It was very late in the evening when the glee club members began to leave the Berry home one by one. The first to leave were Tina and Mike, then Artie and Mercedes. Puck and Sam left after that and then Finn and Kurt. The last to leave were the three Cheerios which Rachel personally escorted to their car.

"Will you text me when you get home? I want to make sure you made it home safely." Rachel said lowly as she stood with Quinn next to Santana's car. The Latina and her girlfriend were already seated inside the car but Rachel didn't want them overhearing her. She knew Santana would tease her endlessly.

"That's very sweet of you. Of course, I'll text you," Quinn grinned.

Rachel nodded but didn't say anything. The two girls just stood there gazing at one another with shining eyes wishing they could say goodbye properly.

"Oh my god, just fucking kiss her already so we can leave," they heard suddenly from the front seat car window. It was Santana of course.

Both girls turned red as a tomato—especially Quinn. Her best friend always knew how to embarrass her.

"You heard her. Just kiss me already," Rachel simpered as she took a step closer to the blonde.

Rachel had been nervous to show any kind of intimacy towards Quinn in front of her friends, seeing as they had agreed to take things slow. But since Santana had made it a point to address the subject in a tactless manner she thought she would take advantage of the situation.

Quinn only hesitated for a second before leaning in and pressing her lips against Rachel's in a chaste kiss.

"Gross. Now let's go!" Santana demanded.

"I hate her," Quinn sighed against Rachel's lips. She could feel Rachel smiling.

"It's okay. Go. I'll talk to you soon," The brunette giggled as she pulled away.

Quinn nodded and smiled, "Bye."

"Bye," Rachel grinned back before watching the blonde open the backseat passenger door and slide in.

Rachel watched as the girls drove off, her heart still racing from the chaste kiss she and Quinn had shared. She stood there until Santana's car was out of sight and then walked back inside the house where Blaine was waiting for her in the foyer.

"Someone looks incredibly happy," Blaine teased with a knowing smile.

Rachel ducked her head bashfully. It was painfully obvious how happy she was. How could she not be? Quinn liked her back. She was more than happy.

The two friends headed up stairs to get ready for bed. Rachel was unsure of how she was going to fall asleep when her body was still buzzing from the excitement. Sleep was definitely not going to come easy.

As promised, Quinn sent Rachel a text as soon as she got home. Rachel was in the middle of her nightly routine when she stopped what she was doing to reply. Safe to say it took the brunette a lot longer to complete her routine than usual.

It was one o'clock in the morning when the girls reluctantly wished each other a good night. Neither of them wanted the conversation between them to end but they were both pretty exhausted and it was way past Rachel's bed time.

A few hours later Rachel was woken up by her father and Blaine. Since it was going to Blaine's last day in Lima they decided to go out for breakfast and enjoy the best of what Lima had to offer, which wasn't much. After they spent most of the morning out and about they finally headed back to the Berry home to grab Blaine's belongings and head to the airport. Rachel and Blaine spent the entire ride to Dayton cuddled up next to each other in the back seat. They were really going to miss one another.

After a tearful goodbye and a promise to see each other soon, Blaine stepped onto the Berry's private jet and took off back to New York. It was upsetting for Rachel but Hiram was there to comfort her.

On the ride back from Dayton Rachel received a message from Quinn that made her smile.

I hope you had a great day with Blaine :) Can't wait to see you tomorrow at school. – Q

With a grin, she replied.

It was definitely bittersweet. And believe me, you're not the only one anxiously waiting for tomorrow to come ;) – R*

"Who are you texting that has you smiling so big?" Rachel heard her father inquire.

Rachel panicked internally. She didn't know how to respond. "It's only Kurt, daddy," she shrugged, hoping he'd by it.

"Uh huh, sure," he teased. "I've seen you with Kurt and you don't smile like that around him. This is someone you like." Hiram smirked.

Her flushed face was a clear indicator that his suspicions were correct.

"Okay, yes. It's someone I like," Rachel admitted.

She figured there was no point in denying it. Her body's reaction made it quite obvious that she was interested in someone. She was a bit disappointed in her ability to hide it. It was just that when it came to Quinn she couldn't really hold in her emotions.

"Hm, interesting," her father hummed. "Is it a boy?"

Rachel's heart raced in her chest. Had her father really just ask that question? She would have thought her father would have automatically assumed it was a boy. But now she didn't know what to think. His inquiry took her completely by surprise. Did this mean that he was okay with her liking a girl? It had to, or why else would he make it seem like there was another option.

The brunette swallowed hard before answering.

"No," she said clearly, looking at her father, "it's not a boy."

She watched as she waited for her father to react only to suddenly become confused when she saw a smile appear on his face. Relief immediately washed over her but she was still very much bewildered by his reaction.

"You're smiling," she stated, still puzzled. "Which tells me that you're not disappointed?"

Her father turned to her, his smile fading a little as he looked at her with a raised brow. "And why would I even be disappointed? Because you like a girl?"

Rachel sighed. "I just wasn't sure how you would react. I never gave you an indication that I was interested in girls. We never really discussed it."

Hiram nodded. "You're right, we never did, which I think is unacceptable because I am your father and we should be able to discuss these things openly."

Rachel couldn't help but smile. She never expected her father to react so warmly to the idea of her liking another girl. It made her heart soar.

"I'm sorry I never brought it up. It's just that I still think of you as my little girl. The thought of you dating hardly crossed my mind," her father turned to look at her with loving eyes, taking his eyes off the road for only a few seconds before turning back. "But to me it doesn't matter if it's a girl or a boy you're interested in. I just want you to be happy and feel comfortable enough to talk to me about it."

The brunette couldn't believe how incredibly lucky she was to have such an amazing father. She felt guilty for ever thinking that he wouldn't accept her for her interest in girls.

"I'm sorry I never told you, daddy. This development is fairly new. I never knew I was interested in women until I met―"

"Quinn?" her father interjected with a raised brow.

Rachel looked at him with wide eyes, shocked by his assumption. How did he know? She was aware that both Kurt and Blaine had claimed that her attraction to Quinn was obvious, but had she been that obvious that even her father had picked up on it?

"H-How did you know?" she stammered.

Hiram smirked. "Honey, you're not exactly subtle with your leering."

Rachel's face turned beet red. It was one thing to hear from her friends about how obvious her ogling was, but it was completely different to hear it from her dad. It was very embarrassing.

Hiram laughed and Rachel only turned to glare at him.

"So am I correct to assume its Quinn you're interested in?" he asked.

A smile tugged on Rachel's lips as she nodded, her face still flushed. She still couldn't believe she was having this conversation with her dad. She had already planned to talk to her father about it, but not so soon. It was definitely a relief, though. Now she didn't have to stress about it all week before her big date with Quinn.

"Does she know how you feel?" he glanced over at her.

Rachel's smile widened. "She does. She actually asked me out on a date this Friday," she beamed.

"Oh sweetie, that's great!" he grinned.

Rachel giggled. It was odd to see her dad look so excited about the fact that she had been asked out on a date. Any other father would be reluctant and completely against the idea, yet, her dad was acting the complete opposite. He seemed happy about the idea of her dating. She couldn't deny that it was a little puzzling, though.

"You said yes, right?" he asked enthusiastically.

Again, Rachel was amused by her father's interest in the situation. It made her happy to know that her father was being encouraging instead of trying to dissuade her from going out with Quinn. It was kind of surreal.

"I did," she nodded. "I hope that's okay?"

"Of course it's okay, sweetie. Quinn is a wonderful girl. I trust she'll be respectful and show you a good time," he smiled, then added, "And if she doesn't she'll have me to deal with."

Rachel rolled her eyes dismissing her father's comment. She didn't think her father could hurt a fly.

The rest of the ride home was spent discussing dating rules. Rachel didn't think it was necessary since she would never do anything disrespectful under her father's roof but listened to her father anyway. They discussed having Quinn up in her room and they agreed that she was allowed to be up there but only if the door was never to be locked. The thought of being with Quinn up in her room by themselves did have her a bit flushed. The only thing that came to mind were their mind blowing kisses and she definitely wasn't against sharing some of those in the comfort of her bed.

When the conversation topic changed to sex it got a little awkward. Rachel, by no means, was ready for sex. The thought alone made her insanely nervous. Quinn was incredibly attractive and her looks were definitely a turn on, but never in a million years had she ever thought about having sex with a woman. Not until now, at least. She was just so inexperienced that she knew she needed some time. She hoped to be ready, though. That kind of intimacy was something that she really wanted to share with Quinn, especially since it would be her first time. Maybe it was a little premature to think it, but Rachel really wanted Quinn to be her first. She couldn't think of anyone more perfect than her.

It was a relief when they finally made it home. Her father's sex talk ceased and she was able to head up to her room for a little bit before she was expected to be downstairs to watch a movie with her dad. She took the opportunity to call Kurt and tell him what she had discussed with her father. Kurt, of course, was thrilled by the news. He knew Hiram wouldn't have objected to the two girls dating. He believed Rachel's father was very open minded and accepting.

Her father called her downstairs almost immediately after she got off the phone with Kurt. The smile on her face only got bigger as she continued to received text messages from Quinn letting her know what the blonde was currently doing. She was replying to one of her texts when she walked down the stairs and made it to the sitting area where her dad was waiting for her. What she failed to notice when she walked in was that her father wasn't alone.

Rachel was shocked to find a very attractive blonde woman sitting next to her father on the couch once she finally looked up from her phone.

"Texting Quinn, sweetie?" her father smirked.

If she hadn't been too busy trying to think of why there was a blonde woman sitting next to her father she would have glared at him. She only stared at the woman who seemed to be smirking at her in return. It definitely rubbed her the wrong way.

"Hello, and you are?" Rachel said a little curtly. She didn't see her father's disappointed frown, only the woman's widening smug smile.

"Cassandra. I'm your father's lovely assistant," the blonde woman said, her self-satisfied smile intact. Neither girl made a move to shake each other's hand. Rachel stood still in her spot and Cassandra stayed seated comfortably on the couch.

"Lovely, I'm sure," Rachel said sarcastically. She turned to her father who seemed to be looking between the two. "Daddy, you didn't tell me we would be having company."

Hiram stood from his seat on the couch. "I'm sorry for not telling you ahead of time, sweetie. Cassie came by to drop off some paperwork because I'll be heading to the Columbus office tomorrow to oversee a few things and I have to drop them off."

Rachel looked over at Cassandra. "I believe there are fax machines for that."

Cassandra raised a brow and her smirk grew. She was finding it hilarious that Rachel was being so territorial over her father. She had to admit that it was kind of cute. Too bad the girl didn't know that her father was totally gay. But she figured she could have some fun.

Cassandra stood from the couch and wrapped an arm around Hiram's waist. "But then I would miss seeing this guy's handsome mug," she said, poking Hiram's cheek. Hiram rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"If you like seeing my handsome face all the time then why are you always avoiding my office, hm? Afraid I'm going to give you too much work?" he smirked.

Cassandra shrugged. "You know what they say—absence makes the heart grow fonder. And right now I'm off the clock so you can't give me any work to do," she said slyly.

Rachel was irritated by the flirtatious exchange between her father and Cassandra. Who was this woman? Was her father involved with her? He had never mentioned seeing anyone to her so this was very out of the blue. She was definitely going to have to have a discussion with her father about it because she did not like Cassandra one bit. Yes, she was an attractive woman, but she was arrogant and Rachel found it bothersome.

"Daddy, is it appropriate for you to have employees over? Don't you have a policy on fraternizing?" Rachel asked her father as she continued to glare at Cassandra.

The brunette's attitude only edged Cassandra on. She was having too much fun annoying the hell out of Rachel.

"Cassie's more than just an employee— she's a close friend of mine. She's been my assistant for years," he said proudly as he wrapped an arm around Cassie and gave her a squeeze.

Hiram was completely unaware that his actions were fueling the animosity between Rachel and Cassie. While Rachel fumed at the closeness, Cassie was smiling like a maniac.

"That's right. Me and your dad are buddies," Cassie smirked. "I know all about his life―about you. I'm glad I finally got to meet the amazing young woman he's always talking about."

The smile on Hiram's face was making it hard for Rachel to reply with a snarky remark. She wanted nothing more than to say something that would wipe the smug look off of Cassandra's face, but she didn't want to disappoint her father.

"Well I can't say that I've heard about you before but I'm glad I got the opportunity to meet another one of my father's friends," she said convincingly.

"Oh yeah, your dad told me you met LeRoy. What a fox that man is. Too bad he's not into the female form," she glanced over at Hiram who was trying his best not to look like he wanted to murder his assistant.

Rachel's eyes widened when she finally caught on to what Cassie had said. She couldn't believe it. LeRoy was gay?

"He's gay?" she asked, in disbelief. "But he seemed so…" she trailed off, not wanting to sound like an ass for stereotyping. It was just that LeRoy did not seem flamboyant at all or show any indication that he preferred men.

Cassandra laughed and nodded. "I know, right? You can't even tell. I was disappointed when I hit on him and nothing."

"Yeah," Hiram grumbled. "You were acting like a damn cat in heat."

Cassandra nudged Hiram and raised a brow. "Jealous much?"

Hiram shot Cassandra a glare. He knew what she was doing and he wasn't sure he liked it. She had pushed him before to tell Rachel about his relationship with LeRoy and of course he had been planning to do it but he needed to work up to it. Hiram wanted Rachel to spend a little more time around LeRoy before doing so but he hadn't planned on telling Rachel that LeRoy was gay. He didn't want Rachel to figure it out on her own before he had a chance to talk to her. Cassandra was making that a little difficult for him.

"Rachel, sweetie. Why don't you go upstairs and pick a movie for us to watch. I have to discuss something with Cassie. I'll be up in a bit," he told Rachel.

Rachel was confused by her father's sudden change in attitude. He was playful a minute ago and now he seemed serious. She glanced at Cassandra who seemed to be smiling knowingly. The blond woman knew something she didn't and it didn't sit well with Rachel.

"Sure, daddy. It was nice meeting you, Cassandra," Rachel said with a fake smile as she walked towards the stairs.

"You too, Rachel," Cassandra smirked. Once Rachel was out of sight she turned to Hiram. "Your daughter hates me."

Hiram shook his head. "And why would she hate you? She just met you." He told her as he walked to the kitchen. Cassandra followed.

"She thinks I'm interested in you," she smirked, taking a seat on the kitchen island.

She heard Hiram laugh as he raided the refrigerator. "You interested in me? That's hilarious."

"Yeah, well not hilarious to her seeing as she doesn't know you're gay. Seriously, you need to stop being a pansy and tell her already. I mean, I think it's funny that she's annoyed by my presence because she thinks I'm hot for you, but I really don't actually want her to hate me," she confessed.

Hiram sighed. "Yes, I know I have to tell her but I want her to spend some time around LeRoy first. So please, no more hints. I don't want her to figure it out before I get to tell her."

Cassandra rolled her eyes. "Well if she's oblivious as you she won't figure it out, so relax." That earned her a glare from Hiram.

"So what's your plan then? Have LeRoy over more and then you're going to break the news the weekend she goes back with Shelby? Because if that's your plan it sucks. Rachel only has a few weeks left here. I say you spend it getting to really know her and her you."

LeRoy frowned but nodded. Cassandra had a point. The sooner Rachel knew the more she could get to know about the situation and spend time with him and LeRoy. He really wanted Rachel to like LeRoy. He wanted them all to be a family—including Shelby.

"Like this whole bisexual thing. When did that happen?" she asked him.

Hiram chuckled and recounted his conversation with Quinn the day before and his earlier conversation with Rachel.

"No fucking way," Cassandra laughed. "So Rachel likes Quinn―who you paid to become friends with her—except, she likes Rachel back and now asked to get out of the deal you two had? Oh, and she also walked in on you making out with LeRoy."

Hiram nodded, amused by the ridiculousness of the situation.

"Wow, this is some Mexican soap opera shit―especially since you're a closeted gay billionaire who had a daughter with a famous actress."

"Yes, well let's hope we have a happy ending like most Mexican soap operas do," he chuckled.

"I'm sure. But what are you planning to do with this Rachel and Quinn thing? You're actually letting them date? You're not scared that Quinn is just experimenting or something? Or that she might out you? Because I might pick on Rachel but I wouldn't actually want her to get hurt," Cassandra told him.

Hiram was surprised by how much Cassandra really cared about Rachel. It was heartwarming for him to hear how protective of her she seemed to be.

"Despite everything that Quinn once did to Rachel, I trust her. She seemed very sincere when we talked and she would be crazy to throw away that much money just for some experiment. I really do think she loves Rachel. You should see the way they look at each other. It's the sweetest thing in the world," he gushed.

Cassandra faked gagged. "Alright, I guess. But if you ever need to have her taken care of you know where to find me."

Hiram laughed. "Beating up teenagers now? Why am I not surprised."

Cassandra left only a few moments later when they both remembered Rachel was waiting for Hiram upstairs. They said their goodbyes and promised each other they would see each other at work.

The minute Hiram walked into the small theater he was confronted by Rachel.

"What's going on between you and Cassandra? Are you two together?

Hiram looked at her with wide eyes. "Whoa, slow down there sweetie. What gave you the impression that Cassie and I are together," he asked.

"The way you two act with each other. I don't like it. She's very arrogant and acts too comfortable around you," Rachel ranted.

Hiram was trying really hard not to laugh. He knew it would only upset Rachel even more, but he couldn't help it. It was actually kind of cute how territorial his daughter was. He wondered if she'd act the same once she knew about LeRoy.

"Honey, there is nothing going on between Cassie and I. Aside from your mother, she is the only person who really knows me. She's like my best friend," he explained to her.

Rachel frowned. "But you never really mentioned her to me. You would mention your assistant, but never by name. I figured you had some older lady as an assistant, not some beautiful young woman," she huffed.

"Don't ever tell her you think she's attractive because that will only inflate her ego," Hiram chuckled. "Cassie is very playful and loves to be snarky and sassy. She really is just a friend. I assure you, there is nothing to worry about."

The small brunette nodded. "But if you ever do date someone, you'll tell me right?"

Hiram felt a pang of guilt. He never felt like he was living a lie until that moment when he had to look Rachel straight in the eye and lie to her face.

"Of course sweetie, you'll be the first to know. "
