Who said Percy Jackson was mine?
Chapter 26: Eric's P.O.V
I was talking with my group of friends when my name was called from the speakers.
"Eric Lane, you are needed at the office please." It announced. Everybody in the hall turned to look at me. I blushed, I hated attention.
"Good luck." Annabeth said, smirking. When Annabeth moved here she was welcomed to all the groups (the athletes, the populars, and the nerds) except for the emo and punk ones. But to all our surprise she walked proudly to our group. The athletes were a bit sad that they couldn't have had another athlete but they just brushed it off. But the populars, mostly the girls were mad, embarrassed. They all agreed to make her life a living hell.
"Thanks." I muttered, and walked over to the direction of the office.
"I was called?" I asked when I arrived. The secretary rushed me in. There was a boy standing there, looking around.
"Since you are one of the 'Golden Bridge's' (I thought this should be the name of Annabeth's school; Golden Bridge High School) best student you are going to show him around. I expect best behavior and absolutely no fooling around. Understand?" The principle, Mrs. Brown asked. Both of us nodded mutely.
"Alright, you guys are dismissed." She said. We walked out of the door awkwardly.
"What's your name?" He asked, obviously trying to make some conversation.
"Eric, Eric Lane." I said.
"Cool, my name's Percy Jackson." He said, then silence overtook us again.
"Give me your schedule." I said. He took out a crumpled piece of paper out of his pocket and I scowled. I was a bit OCD. I checked his schedule. As I predicted he had average classes. The only class we had together was P.E and I was horrible at it. I showed him to his home room.
"Thanks." He said, when we arrived. Then he walked in. After classes I showed him to his rooms then left. The only time we met each other was P.E.
"Today we're playing dodgeball kids!" Coach Hade screamed out. He was a violent little man, at 5 feet 2 inches. I was about to sit down on the bleachers and start a conversation with Annabeth (alright, I might have a little crush on her) but something stopped me. It was a scene I never thought I'll see.
Annabeth was hugging Percy Jackson. Yup, the same Percy Jackson I showed around. I felt white-hot anger bubbling inside of me. I showed him around and he payed me back by hugging my crush?! But Percy wasn't the only person I was mad at. What did Annabeth think she was doing, hugging a stranger like that? He could be dangerous! I thought Annabeth had more common sense than this! I stomped over to save Annabeth from the creepy prevert.
"Annabeth! What are you doing?!" I asked. Great, I sound like an over protective older brother. But at that moment I didn't really care. She broke the hug (thankfully) and turned her head to look at me.
"Oh hey Eric! Ugh, we're playing dodgeball again, yay." She said. Why did she have to sound so innocent?!
"Whatever. And anyways we have more important problems on our hands. What are you doing with Percy Jackson?" I asked.
"Him?" She asked, amusement clearly lacing her voice. I nodded angrily; this was not the time for jokes, she needed to explain.
"He's my boyfriend, you know the one I talk about?" She said, staring pointedly at me. What? She really had a boyfriend? I don't mean that she isn't pretty, she is, it's just that she seemed like a person to focus on academics and get a boyfriend when she finished college. I never really believed her when she told us she had a boyfriend.
I looked at him closely and saw that he wasn't bad-looking. Actually, he was better-looking than me. (A lot of people are better-looking than me but whatever.) He had messy raven black hair that looked like he hadn't combed it in ages, but it looked better like that. He had peculiar sea-green eyes that changed like the ocean to blue and green but it looked really good. His face was angular and tanned and his shoulders were broad. I could never compete with that.
I guess I just had to wait for my next chance...
What did you think? It's not my best piece but I tried my best! Please reveiw! I need more favs too! Thank you! (Check out my profile peeps!)
