Finally, this story… well now we know what Koji started and how the events began, now it's time to watch everything unfold. Much like the anime, the events of the Ouran Fair will be spread across two chapters. Enjoy!

Chapter 26 – Reiko's Vision Become Real

The week before the 43rd Ouran Fair seemed to pass by quickly. Everyone was busy getting everything ready for the opening day, running around to make sure everything was perfect. Haruhi questioned how everything operated and was informed that this was no ordinary school and thus the students couldn't be measured by arts and crafts, but they would be judged on how well they organized the events. It was the way of the elitists.

On the morning of the opening ceremony, Haruhi and Kyoya were going through a last minute checklist, while Kaoru directed the people who were hired to move furniture into the Grand Salon so that they could open the Host Club to the public that very day. As they were wrapping everything up, the other hosts pulled up in a horse drawn carriage and encouraged them to hop in so that they could all enjoy a spin around the courtyard as practice for the big parade. With Hikaru holding the reins and Mori instructed him, the remaining three hosts jumped into the carriage and began their ride.

Haruhi was less than enthusiastic about the carriage ride, but in the end could ignore the pleading in Tamaki's eyes to make this fair the best one ever. It wasn't that she didn't like the carriage ride or anything, although she believed that they were going overboard with their expenses and the grandness of their attraction; however, the other problem lay in that so far nothing had happened and if Reiko was right, something could happen at any moment. The fair was officially opened and this is when something was bound to happen, but no one knew what it could be and that had Haruhi on edge. Tamaki seemed his normal self, almost as if nothing was bothering him, and the twins although subdued, were still acting almost normal. Was she the only one concerned? Looking up at Kyoya before the carriage came to a halt, she knew she wasn't. She wasn't sure how she knew, but she could see the worry in his eyes and those of Hunny and Mori; and if she looked close enough in Hikaru and Kaoru as well. Tamaki was doing well at hiding his worry… if he was worried that is. Shaking her head, she smiled and chastised herself knowing that if anything affected his "family", the blond president would be worried; he just wouldn't show it outwardly because he wouldn't want to bother the others.

Late that morning the Ouran High School Host Club opened the doors to the grand salon and declared themselves open for business to anyone who wanted to enter. As they talked to their guests, served the tea and snacks, and put on their normal show for everyone, Haruhi had to wonder how seemingly everyone in the world fell for it all. Mori and Hunny were not brothers and Hunny was older than Mori, the twins were embellishing and playing the sympathy card to win affections, Tamaki only had to smile spout a few words and his target was enraptured, and Kyoya said what he needed to win the approval of the parents and make the club out to be more than it really was. How did everyone fall for it all of the time, but she never did? Sighing, she shook her head and carried on with her duties. One woman caught her attention and she approached her as a good host and asked if she wanted any kind of refreshments. There was just something about her that didn't sit right, and Haruhi tried to put her finger on it until someone walked into the salon and garnered just as much attention as Tamaki.

Tamaki heard the doors bang open and watched as his father entered the room. Smiling, he ran up to his patriarch and greeted the older Suoh, "Welcome father."

"Do not refer to me as father. That term is far too familiar. You need to refer to me as Chairman," Yuzuru stated plainly. Something was about to happen and it was nothing he could stop. It was time his son learn that there were some things in life that were just unfair, and unfortunately it started with his attitude. If he showed the affection he wanted to towards his only son, Shizue would have made life even harder for both of them. He wouldn't make Tamaki's life more difficult than it already was, and if that meant holding back his own love and affection from his son, Yuzuru would do it.

Kyoya approached the father and son knowing how hard it was for Tamaki to be denied the relationship he desired with the chairman, however, this was still the chairman of Ouran and Kyoya would still be polite, "Welcome, Chairman. I have a seat saved for you over here." He led the elder Suoh to a couch and then asked, "Is there anything I can get for you?" After an exchange of words, he called forth the female host.

Surprised that she was being called, Haruhi was about to walk off, but she felt like someone was staring at her and whipped around, but the strange woman had turned away… something was definitely off with this guest. She didn't have time to think about it now though and approached the bespectacled teen so that introductions could be made. Once completed, Kyoya left them alone.

At first Haruhi couldn't see any resemblance between the father and son pair, however, given a few moments and some carefully spoken words, and it made itself known. "I have been meaning to come by your office to pay my respects. Thank you Chairman."

"Chairman coming from you sounds so droll. You should call me… ah yes, call me uncle. To be honest, I have been so busy lately that I am not always in," Yuzuru stated as he grabbed a rose from the vase in front of him and presented it to the brunette before him.

There it was; the similarities and Haruhi immediately knew Tamaki and his father were one in the same, "Um ok." It felt a bit like Tamaki's glomps when the elder Suoh grabbed her hand in his, and then something caught her eye. Moving her orbs slightly, she caught a glimpse of her boyfriend just before he disappeared.

Nekozawa was worried as well. He didn't know what was coming and there was no way to tell who it would affect. So far it was mainly Tamaki, but if Koji was jealous of Hunny, why was he directing his attack at Suoh? Unable to stay away from his girlfriend for too long, he checked in on her and then had the urge to rip the chairman's hands off. He knew that the Yuzuru didn't mean anything by it, but he didn't like the thought of anyone other than him touching her intimately… Tamaki and the hosts were an exception. Tamaki because there was no stopping his daddy act or the glomping, Nekozawa had tried and weaved curses and spells, and nothing had worked; the others, well because they never really touched her intimately at all, a hug here or a pat on the head, but nothing much beyond that. The Dark Prince normally wouldn't be bothered by the chairman's forwardness, but today he was on edge and that could be the only explanation for his actions. Deciding it was probably better to leave before he acted on his jealousy, Nekozawa returned to his own club who were having a fortunetelling exhibit.

As soon as his father had instructed Haruhi to come to him with any problems, Tamaki popped up from behind the couch, "Father!"

"It's Chairman!" Yuzuru corrected his blond son. Tamaki looked so much like his mother that sometimes it was hard to be cruel to him.

"Remove your hands at once. You cannot touch my daughter so intimately," the Host Club president yelled. Further comment was halted when the sound of a slap could be heard throughout the hall and everyone turned towards the sound.

Kyoya fell to the floor after his father hit him across the face. Picking up the glasses that had fallen from his face, he listened to his parent chastising him for his participation in the club. It wasn't that he wasn't expecting something like this happening, but it was his own father that told him to become intimate with Tamaki. When he regained his feet, his heart was racing and he could feel the burn on his cheeks not only from the slap, but from the embarrassment of something like that happening in front of so many people… in front of his friends.

"You are an embarrassment to the family name," Yoshio sneered before walking away from his youngest son.

Brushing off the concern from his friends, Kyoya left the salon in order to compose himself. If he had stayed, if his friends would have stopped him, he wasn't sure what would have happened. He was still an Ootori and he would not break down in front of everyone.

Something Haruhi had asked Kyoya made Tamaki pause. Could Yoshio really have hit his son because of the Host Club? Surely not, right? Was this his fault? He was pulled out of his musings when his father stopped next to him and addressed him.

Yuzuru could see the confusion on his son's face and spoke to him, "Whims have consequences and they don't come cheap for us. You need to grow up and realize that life is not all about fun and games. There is more to it than dressing up and having fun. I don't say this to be mean, but you have to realize that for people like us there are things we have to deal with and the price is sometimes very high. You need to think about the future. If you want to be heir, know that you have to live with all of your choices for the rest of your life. Think hard about your decisions." He only changed the subject when his mother made her entrance, "Look sharp and go greet your grandmother."

Plastering on a smile, Tamaki quickly made his way over to his grandmother and welcomed her, "Grandmother, I'm so happy you could come!"

The other hosts watched as their leader went up to his elder. Haruhi thought it was a sweet gesture that Shizue Suoh would attend the Host Club for the sake of her grandson, but she quickly got the impression this was not a good thing, especially when Hunny said he hated the woman. Hate was such a strong word, but the female host soon learned exactly why he had said that.

"Please come in," Tamaki invited the older woman and had every intention of showing her to a table; however, he was stopped short by the words she directed at him.

Shizue scowled, "Don't patronize me you filthy child." Stepping past her grandson, it was time to set her own plan in motion and inform Tamaki of his future, "Lady Éclair, please come here for a moment."

Haruhi was shocked. The woman that had stood up and approached the Suoh's was the woman she had been trying to help before Yuzuru called her over. It was the same woman that had given her an odd feeling earlier, and now that feelings increase 100 fold, "It's that… I was just…"

"What?" Hikaru and Kaoru asked together.

Shaking her head, Haruhi continued to observe everything unfold, "Nothing."

"For the remainder of today and for the entire day tomorrow, you will be Lady Éclair's personal escort. You will do nothing except what she wishes. Do you understand?" The grandmother ordered. When she did not get his immediate compliance, she sneered, "What's wrong? I gave you an order."

Éclair lifted her opera glasses and looked at the blond before her. He was everything she had ever imagined and more. Her heart was racing just being in his presence, but he wouldn't let him know that, "Hello there… Tamaki."

Who was this woman and why was she looking at him with those things? Tamaki didn't know, but he did know one thing, he had to follow his instructions. Forcing a small smile, he said, "Very well grandmother. I will do everything I can to make sure she is happy and taken care of. Just as you wish it." He offered Éclair his arm and they soon left the salon, and he had to wonder if this is what Reiko tried to warn him about.

As an hour passed in the salon, the others realized that Tamaki was not going to be returning that morning, and they weren't sure if he would return for their afternoon session. They wanted to know who this woman was that Tamaki's grandmother had brought in, because in their eyes, she had done this on purpose.

"I can tell you. She is Éclair Tonnere. The youngest daughter of the Tonnere family who is descended from royalty," Renge muttered looking a little sad for Tamaki, knowing that if Éclair was there, something was going on behind the scenes.

"Indeed. They are a financial heavyweight and have been buying up several companies in Japan. I am not sure why she is here though," Kyoya added. He didn't include the fact that he knew that Ootori Medical was on their list. However, her presence was indeed a mystery and he knew this was the beginning of Reiko's vision. They had bee blindsided by the Suoh matriarch.

As the morning turned into afternoon and it was time to change into their next outfits, Haruhi went to the music room so that she would have a little bit of privacy since she couldn't really go to the boys room to change because she was girl, and she couldn't go to the girl's room because everyone thought she was a boy. The only option was the music room, although, she wondered if it had been the best thing. Thinking about Kyoya's words, she started to hear noises coming from the music room and put her ear up to the door to hear the soft twinkling of piano keys, and she knew Tamaki was playing. She stepped out into the room and was confronted by Éclair and the club president.

"What are you doing here?" Tamaki asked surprised to see the only female host. He had already stopped playing when Éclair reminded him his best friend was slapped.

"Changing. You're the one that wanted everyone to change a million times during the fair," Haruhi grumbled before saying, "You know everyone is upset that you aren't downstairs with us. You should be with your club you know."

Snickering, Éclair smirked, "Sorry, but he is mine for today and tomorrow. You know, you sound jealous."

"Is it true? Are you jealous? Is it true? Is it?" Tamaki stood up quickly and begged to know, dancing with excitement.

It was at that moment that Éclair realized that Haruhi was not a teenage boy, but in fact a girl; and in her eyes, Haruhi just became competition for the man she wanted.

"Sorry, but no. As you know, that cannot be true," Haruhi rolled her eyes and left the room irritated at the whole situation. It had not escaped her observation that this could be exactly what Reiko had warned them about.

Tamaki tried to stop her, but was stopped by the woman he was escorting and turned around in askance, "What?"

"You can't possibly want a shrew like that," Éclair giggled.

"My lady, I would ask that you not talk about my daughter like that!" The blond warned.

Pulling him towards her and then pushing him on the couch, Éclair spoke softly, "Your daughter? They aren't real family Tamaki, so why don't you stop playing house. I can give you the real thing."

"What… what do you mean?"

"If you agree to marry me, you can have a wife, children in our future, and I can give you your mother back. I know exactly where she is and it is within my power to give it all to you. All of your dreams."

He couldn't help but think about the trouble he had caused his friends and felt the problems everyone was facing were his fault. On top of that, he was being given the opportunity to rejoin his mother. That was something that was almost too hard to resist, but what should he do?

Returning to the others, Haruhi was told how cute she was by several different people, but the confrontation she had just experienced was still playing in her mind and she really wanted to feel the arms of Nekozawa around her right now. It wasn't that she was jealous, but she was afraid of losing one of her closest friends… even if he was exuberant, overzealous, and didn't understand the meaning of personal space.

"Wonder where Tono is," the twins remarked offhandedly.

"He is currently entertaining Lady Éclair in music room 3 right now," Haruhi grumbled. She turned to the vice president and asked, "He seems to be a little more flippant than normal, but do you think this could be…"

Adjusting his glasses, Kyoya looked up from his laptop, "Yes, I do think this is Reiko's vision, and he has no choice but to follow the orders set forth by his grandmother."

"Why can't he just tell her 'no'?" Haruhi questioned.

The hosts looked at each other before shrugging. "Well, she should know, everyone else knows," Hikaru sighed.

"Tamaki-senpai is the illegitimate son of an affair between the chairman and a Frenchwoman," Kaoru stated.

After the club had closed for the day, Kyoya went on to explain the whole story and told Haruhi everything. When he was done, the female host knew Tamaki really had no choice in the matter. He had come to Japan to help his mother, and she in turn disappeared. It had to be hard on him, "That's so sad."

"Well, you can look at it as such, but everything he went through made him the person he is today, and at the end of the day, he still has us. We are his friends and his family, and he will never turn his back on the Host Club," the Shadow King smiled, and the others agreed with him.

After he made that statement, the door to the salon opened up to reveal Tamaki and Éclair, and in the following moments, the hosts' nightmares and Reiko's vision were becoming reality as he declared, "I have an announcement, Lady Éclair has agreed to marry me. Also, after the Ouran Fair closes, the Host Club will be permanently dissolved." It was done. Tamaki had given in believing this would free up his friends and resolve the problems he created. This was for the best.
