Survivor of the 66

Chapter 26

Gaining Understanding

Those of Tribe Green arrived back to their island in the fashion they had been exported. Silence weighed heavily. The wind whispered, seemingly taunting them for their continued failures. What was there to say? A day had passed and with it, two back to back losing challenges. There was a resounding feeling that resonated with all, defeat.

Feeling the exhaust in her legs Harley leaned the tree behind before sliding to a seat. "Whelp, that's anotha one in the books folks."

"At the rate we're going there's no doubt we'll be the first tribe to get completely exterminated," Chopper worriedly voiced.

"Hate to admit it, but that seems to be the way things are trending," Heiji noted. There was no denying how they were faring in comparison to all other tribes in competition.

"While things momentarily seem bleak that doesn't mean it has to remain that way," Constantine spoke. This he firmly believed.

"Whatever are you implying?" Dr. Gero asked.

"To stray away from a consistent is to first make a change, in our case losing. This is the bases for any situation when seeking different results than what one has gotten from previous conclusion." Constantine looked to Vegeta specifically. "In short Vegeta, if we are to strive going forward we will need to make some adjustments."

"BIG adjustments." Chopper felt the need to add.

"Adjustments?" Vegeta spat. "The only problem I see is standing before me. If it wasn't clear to me before tonight it is now, you bunch are holding me back."

Chopper took offense to the stated. "How could you say that?! Especially after how much effort everyone has been putting in toward our team success."

"More like failures," Chibiusa muttered.

"Effort or not, the problem lies with the fact the majority of you aren't conditioned to contend with the other tribes that have been assembled in challenge of our own," Vegeta explained.

"Wow, so us losing is everyone else's fault but your own. Ok, got it," Heiji sarcastically remarked.

Harley sensing distress in his voice made a move toward Vegeta. "I can see ya aint feeling all that great captain. Allow me," Harley began as she placed a hand upon his shoulder. "I have a talent for making folks feel ten x bett-"

"Step away from me woman!" Vegeta swatted her hand away. "I don't need you or anyone else. What I need is to be alone."

Speaking not another word a surge of energy assembled from within Vegeta's body, taking flight he vanished in seconds.

"Some leader he's turning out to be," Chopper mumbled under his breath.

Not long after Vegeta's departure Constantine motioned away from the larger group.

"Yo, where you going?" Heiji asked out of curiosity.

"Anywhere but here," Constantine simply put.

Heiji shrugged. "Mind if I tag along?"

"I have no reason to deny you."

Heiji pressed on from there, bringing about a reaction from Chopper. "Why do I have a bad feeling about this?"

Dr. Gero who stood near looked down at him. "What worries you?"

Chopper gave an honest answer. "Well if you remember back to what Bat-Mite said, there are a bunch of dangers on each-"

Dr. Gero would cut him off. "This whole trial is about survival yes?"

"Well.. yes."

"Every moment here is a test in itself. The sooner you realize that the better off you will be young Doctor Chopper. Going forward things will need to change, molding ourselves for the task at hand must happen now. Whether it be in competition or in the confine of this island. If not, I fear whatever chance we have to turn the tide will seize."

Chopper was drawn in. "What kind of change?"

Dr. Gero would then look to the sky. "You need not concern yourself with that. I will see to it. For now seek rest, I imagine tomorrow will bring another difficult challenge."

"I wonder what he has in mind?"

Like Vegeta before him Dr. Gero took flight, drifting toward the sky above. Chopper shook his head, wondering just what would become of him and his tribemates.

"I hope we can turn this around. I really do."

Seasonal Plains

Staring into the night sky Usopp laid in comfort. Had another day truly gone by? Two more challenges they had faced, no true victory, nor defeat. This very fact left him feeling empty, for what reason he couldn't quite explain. The sound of a foot step carried with a subtle push of wind, then another, someone was coming. Sitting up Usopp looked across his body to find who was to join him.

"Nightwing?" This was most unexpected.

"Yo Usopp, noticed you were missing among our ranks back at camp," Nightwing noted. "What you doing out here by yourself?"

"Unn, I dunno," Usopp shrugged. "Can't really say."

Taking a hard long look at him Nightwing decided to have a seat next to him. "Lying is obviously not your specialty."

Usopp found the energy to laugh. "First I've heard that one."

"Come on. Why don't you really tell me why you're kicking it out here?" Nightwing pressed.

"Well, what is there really to say?" Usopp paused. "I guess I.. you know, kinda feel empty."

Nightwing blinked an eye. "Empty?"

"Ya. Despite our best efforts we still have yet to win any of the challenges."

"We haven't fallen in last either," Nightwing said quick to remind.

"True but-"

"You can't expect a new band to hit the top of the charts at a musical festival after only a couple of days together."

"Wait, what now?"

Crossing his legs Nightwing would go on to explain. "Ok, let me break it down for you piece by piece. Putting it into perspective, let's say our tribe was a music band."

"Ohh.. kay."

"Sailor Moon is the lead singer tagged with Masumi as the secondary. Whis.. we'll say he is the drummer, Zoro as the pianist because.. why not?" Nightwing took a second to think, snapping his finger. "Ha! Cyborg can serve as the speakers, it's perfect! Of course you would hoist a tambourine, and I could-"

"Wait, hold up!" shouted Usopp who shot to his feet. "Tambourine?! That's it?! Why not a trumpet? Hell, I'd even take the guitar. At least those take more skill than just swinging my hand around and about!"

Nightwing placed a palm upon his head. "Usopp you're missing the point."

"What's the point?"

"The point is this, you don't get a group of guys and ladies together and immediately everything meshes into sweet music that hits the top of the charts, no," Nightwing explained. "It takes time for everyone to get to know one another; strengths, weaknesses, tendencies, specialties even. You see, once we get a feel for each other we can effectively operate as a band, as a team, tribe."

Usopp snapped a finger. "Oooook! I see what you're saying. Kind of puts things into perspective."

Nightwing sighed in relief. "As long as we put our trust in one another I don't see how we can't flourish as a unit."

Usopp nodded his head. "Well thanks, now I feel a lot better about it all."

Nightwing stood back to his feet. "What say you? Wanna rejoin the others?"

Usopp nodded. "Right after you partner."

…..

There were a number of things on Sailor Moon's mind. Above all, which tribe fell into last place? Tribe Green or Pink? Who had been voted off? Last was Artemis. Could it be that someone else she had close connections to was offed? The thought of it was killing her.

"At this rate you'll worry yourself sick."

Hearing a voice of familiarity Sailor Moon glanced over her shoulder. "Mercury?"

"Most everyone is looking to turn in for the night."

"How bout you?"

Mercury took a seat next to her friend. "Not yet. I'm holding off on shut eye for a while longer." Leaning Mercury placed a hand on Sailor Moon's shoulder. "So..?"

Sailor Moon was puzzled. "… Sooo?"

"Ok… what's bothering you Usagi-chan?"

"Ahhahe? Nothing is bothering me," Sailor Moon denied.

Sailor Mercury exhaled, looking deep into her friend's eyes. "Usagi-chan.."

Sailor Moon shrugged as if everything was perfectly fine. "What?"

"You mustn't worry about things that are out of your control. I know you're concerned about the wellbeing of our friends, try not to, what they do or must endure.. we must trust that they can make it through. Even apart, I believe in all of our comrades."

This eased Sailor Moon's worries. "Ami-chan… thank you."

Mercury smiled. "What are friends for right?"

Sailor Moon's sights gazed upon the night sky above. "What about Chibiusa?"

Mercury heard the concern in her voice. "…"

"She.. she's all alone now that Artemis is gone."

"Chibiusa isn't alone. Even with the rest of us being afar, we're all together.. even if just within," Mercury said in hopes of calming her friend. "And besides, I'm certain Chibiusa has made plenty of new friends with the people she currently resides with."

"You know.. you're right." Sailor Moon felt much better. "Then agin.. making friends isn't exactly her strong suit."

Then came a pause. "What's wrong Usagi-chan?" Sailor Mercury asked.

"Hrmn. I sure hope Chibiusa hasn't been acting up," Sailor Moon noted aloud.

"She's not going to drop this, is she?" Mercury smilingly mused in thought.

Living Jungle

Spirits were high among all. Jumping in place Michelangelo swung his fist through the air. While they had fallen short of victory, there was still a sense of accomplishment.

"Cowabunga!" chanted Michelangelo as he jumped up and down.

Expectedly his tribe-mates looked at him with a look of confusion. "Cowa what now?" asked Yukiko.

Bringing his pouncing to a halt Michelangelo repeated the spoken. "Cowabunga."

"Cowabunga?" Kogoro keyed in on him. "What the hell does that even mean?"

"Dude, it's only like the best catch phrase eva!"

"Psspht! Right, then how come I've never heard it?" Beast Boy questioned.

"It's a fancy way of saying mission complete," replied Michelangelo who saluted in return. "Me and my bros use it all the time after we take down some baddies in our world."

"Baddies?" questioned Kogoro.

"Clearly means bad guys dude," Beast Boy figured. "Makes me wonder what kind of rock you've been stationed under."

"Hey! It's not like we're from the same world or anything. Things from your world for example might not apply to mine, which includes phrases," argued Kogoro.

"I knew what baddie meant," confessed Yukiko who smilingly raised her hand.

"Not helping.." Kogoro muttered.

"I don't know about the rest of you, but after tonight's scuffle at sea I'm in need of a little walk," Trunks said. "If anyone is interested in tagging along, be my guest."

"You know.." Sailor Neptune thought on the idea. "I may just take you up on that Trunks."

Michelangelo instantly swung his left arm into the air. "HOLD ON!"

The alarm in his voice startled some. "What's wrong?! Is there an enemy on the attack?!" Goku sprung into his battle stance.

"Me take em all out!" declared Buu who too prepared himself for what he assumed to be an incoming fight as well.

"No, no, no!" shouted Michelangelo who swung his arms back and forth. "We aren't under attack."

Goku dropped his arms. "Huh? We're not?"

"Why then the uproar?" asked Brook.

Michelangelo would explain himself. "Hello! Have you dudes already forgotten? We still got the card guessing game to finish," reminded Michelangelo.

"Oh that." Beast Boy flicked the side of his head. "Totally forgot about that."

"Everyone still have their cards?"

Trunks reaching into his jacket was the first to respond. "Got it."

"All clear bruh," Beast Boy added.

"I still have mine as well," Sailor Neptune said.

Searching himself thoroughly Lex did nothing but shrug. "It would appear I misplaced mine at some point or another. Unfortunately I won't be able to partake in the-"

Michelangelo made an immediate move toward him. "Not to worry Lexy."

"It's Lex," he corrected.

"Same difference," replied Michelangelo who gave little care. "Here, I made sure to make spares! You're all set my dude."

"Of course he made extras," mumbled Lex accepting the notecard into hand.

Confirming that everyone remaining still had their cards Tribe Pink's captain excitedly rubbed his hands together.

"Take five everyone, for the game is about to begin."

Natural Forest

They had fallen once, and with the latest back to back challenges they managed to stand steady. While not a complete accomplishment, the mood was better than twenty four hours prior.

"Well guys, at the very least we're not the ones joining Bat-Mite at his farewell party." Renet took a deep breath, exhaling in relief. "Once was good enough for me."

"You can say that again." Sailor Jupiter agreed. The thought alone of sitting at the bench and waiting for the next name to be called tickled her nerves.

Yawning as he stretched his back Goten looked to the night sky. "I don't know about the rest of you, but after all of today's activity I'm feeling exhausted."

"It's not just you. I'm super beat." Renet found herself in line with him.

"Yes, it has been a long and demanding day of trial. Let us all seek rest, for I suspect tomorrow will continue to push our limits." Wonder Woman was certain of this.

"Yes. Besides there is no telling when the next test will occur." Saguru shrugged. "For all we know Bat-Mite could appear at the crack of dawn to announce the next bouts beginning."

"I wouldn't put it past him," voiced Nico Robin.

Bulma displayed a look of dissatisfaction. "He better not."

Without so much as a warning Poison Ivy turned away from the larger group before traveling away. Suspicion arose from Red Robin who watched her carefully. His attention would be diverted after feeling a tap at his shoulder.

"Wonder Woman?"

"Don't let her whereabouts bother you Red Robin. I will personally keep an eye on Ivy," Wonder Woman conveyed. "Like everyone else here, you too should find rest."

There was no arguing that fact. Stepping down, Red Robin watched as Poison Ivy gradually fell out of sight.

While their tribe had yet to stand on top, there was a growing optimism among all.

Hidden Swamp

Upon arriving back Leonardo wasted no time in moving toward the sought target. Tightening his fists, the intent in his eyes couldn't be any more blatant. Sailor Galaxia noticed the humanoid turtle strolling her way in small time. She stood unconcerned. Everyone else soon realized what was unraveling.

"Stand down Leonardo," said Luna who stepped in his path. "I must highly advice against such action."

"Out of my way Luna!" Leonardo fired back. "This does not concern you."

"We are of the same tribe. So yes, what plays out next does concern not only me but everyone here."

Leonardo who was growing impatient drew his left arm back before springing his sword forward, pointing it in the direction of Galaxia. "She will answer for what she did to my brother!" Stepping around Luna Leonardo would have yet another one of his teammates step in defiance of his path. "Batman? You too?"

"You're acting on impulse."

"If she had attacked someone close to you; wouldn't you be looking to do the same?"

"I would use reason," to which Batman replied.

Leonardo's grip upon the blades handle tightened ever more. "Listen, if you're adamant about getting in my way then I'll have to take you down too!" When Batman failed to move Leonardo lunged forward. "Don't say I didn't warn you!"

Anticipating the swords reach Batman swiftly moved aside, motioning forward he grabbed hold of Leonardo's arm, using his momentum against him Batman flipped Leonardo onto his back. Several gasped. Sailor Galaxia smirked, humored by what was unfolding. Luffy who sat upon a log watched the two distinctly.

Starfire who was concerned made a move forward only to have Flash place a hand on her shoulder. She glanced back to Flash who shook his head.

Now lying on his back, a now agitated Leonardo looked to his left to find his katana sitting lying only inches away. The moment he reached for his blade it was snatched.

"Enough, this has escalated far enough." Using his free hand Batman held it out for Leonardo to grasp. Reluctant at first Leonardo accepted. With a strong burst Batman lifted him to his feet. "We're a team. You have an altercation, talk it over. No matter any conflict or disagreement any of us have with one another, we don't draw weapons on our comrades.. if we do, then we've already lost before even stepping into the ring of competition against all other tribes."

Noting he had calmed Batman handed Leonardo his sword back.

"Sorry, I.. I wasn't thinking clearly. You're right, fighting among ourselves will only cause divide. I have no doubt Master Splinter would say the same."

"No apology needed, your actions are understandable," Batman replied. "What you need to understand is what Galaxia did to your brother wasn't out of spite, or some sadistic enjoyment. She was merrily hoping to gain instant eliminations."

Leonardo was puzzled. "Instant eliminations?"

Impressed, Sailor Galaxia stepped forward, clapping as she did. "Quite the deduction, Batman," Galaxia noted.

This all but confirmed Batman's claim.. but what did it mean exactly?

"What do you mean by instant eliminations?" questioned Starfire.

"Think back to the rules for the match in question, Bat-Mite specifically said anyone to enter the ring who wasn't part of the match would be eliminated," Batman reminded. "And not just from that round of competition but from this trial of survivor as a whole."

It was now clear. "I see. So Ms. Galaxia here whole jab from the get go was to try and get someone from Tribe Black on the sidelines to jump in," Flash figured.

"Thus bringing down their numbers, leaving them at a disadvantage in the broader scale of things," Batman concluded.

Galaxia laid focus on the detective. "I must ask Batman, what lead you to figure the truth behind my actions?"

"During the process of it all you were observant just as much as you were engaged. During your assault of Donatello you were clearly surveying all onlookers, clearly seeing who you could get to break.. thus getting them to engage you directly. Given that and the fact any interference would lead to disqualification it only stood to reason what your true intent was."

"I saw nothing special before, but.. perhaps there is a reason Bat-Mite speaks so highly of you after all." Sailor Galaxia stared long and hard at him. "It's too bad though. Things might have worked out as I had planned had a certain android had not interfered."

Android 17 chose not to respond, feeling there was no need to defend his earlier actions.

Starfire sighed in relief. "Good to know we're all on good terms now."

Leonardo clucked his tongue. "Gaining an explanation doesn't put us on good terms Galaxia. My respect.. well you're going to have to earn that." He took one final look at Sailor Galaxia before walking off.

"Leonardo, wait!" Starfire called.

"Let em go, he'll be fine," Luffy said. "He just needs some time alone."

"You think so?"

"You'll see." Luffy seemed positive in that regard.

With that final exchange many disbanded, choosing to go their separate ways.

….

Silver Eyed Beach

With the passing of this rounds events, Beerus stood with an intensity of disgust. Besides Whis there was another target on his radar, Tribe Black.

"They will pay for their blind side attack. Mark my words, they will pay!" Exhaling softly Beerus ears perked at a subtle vibration from above. Turning he found it only to be the wisp of the wind. Sighting a sizable rock a short distance away Beerus made a move toward it. "With every attempt, we have failed. Things will be different moving forward."

If there was something clear, his tribe had yet to stand above all others. This needed to change. Taking a seat upon the large rock Beerus's thoughts wavered into the thickness of his mind. What needed to be done to achieve what lied in sight of his ambition?

Conan stood by the shore side, the soothing waves feeding back his dark reflection. Inhaling he dropped to a knee. Cruising his hand along the top of the silver sand he nabbed hold of a rock. Leveling back up he gandered into the distance afar. Raising his hand with the rock in hand he tossed it forward, watching as it slashed atop the surface of the ocean before falling through a number of feet away.

The young detective dropped his hands to the depths of his pocket. He stared into the distance wide, not focused on anything in particular. It all played back in his mind, from the night he encountered Bat-Mite for the first time all the way to this moment. How were his loved ones back home? Had the same amount of time passed for them as it had for him and everyone else in this world? The thought of that loomed heavy on his mind.

"Just how long will I last here?"

"Yo kid, you alright?"

Conan was not expecting he would be accompanied. Looking over his shoulder he spotted the person who approached. "Huh? Isn't that one of those sailor girls? What could she possibly want?"

"What are you doing out here all by yourself?"

"You're Sailor Uranus right?" asked Conan who opted to face her.

"Nope, that's the other one, me; I am the guardian of love who keeps watch over the planet of beauty," she conveyed as she twirled in place. "Sailor Venus!"

Conan gazed up at her with an awkward smile now present. "I'll be sure not to ever forget her name," Conan mused.

"Is something the matter?" asked Sailor Venus in light of him not responding.

"I'm fine," Conan finally answered. Sailor Venus began scanning the area as if she was searching for something or someone. "You lose something?"

"No, I'm just surprised you're out here alone. Where is your friend?"

"My friend? You mean Takagi-san?" That had to be whom she was speaking of.

"You two are typically together, I believe this is the first time I haven't seen you guys together."

Conan skipped straight to the point, speaking in a childlike matter. "Is there something you want oni-chan?"

Seconds passed as Venus stared down at him in silence. "You miss it, don't you?"

"Miss it?" Conan was puzzled for what she was referring to.

"Your home, your friends and family," Sailor Venus clarified.

"I a.." There was no use in denying that truth. Conan nodded. "Ya."

Venus moved a step closer. "Me too." Turning, she took a seat. Neither said a word. Both now watching the flowing waves in the clear Sailor Venus dropped back, placing her hands behind her head where she laid in place. "Haven't wondered about it?"

Conan glanced down at her briefly. "Bout what?"

"You know, how far away you are from home?"

Conan looked up at the clutter of stars that hung above. "Every second."

"Me too," Sailor Venus said.

Conan would look back down. "Can I ask you something Venus?"

"Sure, ask away."

"You and the rest of, well.. the other Sailor Senshi. What do you guys do exactly?" Conan asked out of curiosity. "Like for a living?"

"We save people. We're protectors of our galaxy," Venus proudly relayed.

"So you're like a super hero? COOL! That must be a really hard job. You probably don't take much breaks huh?"

"That's not entirely true."

"Huh? That's not what you do twenty four seven?"

"Nope. We only fight when we have to, when a threat appears we assemble to challenge it head on."

This was not what he was expecting to hear. Moderately interested Conan questioned further. "So when you're not fighting the bad guys what do you do for a living? Make super armor? Practice fighting.. creating new super moves?!"

Sailor Venus chuckled. "No, nothing spectacular like that. When we're not out saving the world we're just like any other ordinary person."

Conan looked her over in a calculating fashion. "What's your definition of ordinary?"

"I don't know." Venus paused momentarily. "Go to school, hang with friends.. make plans for the future I guess."

"Gee, you really are an ordinary girl."

Sailor Venus glared up at the young detective. "Hey! What's that supposed to mean?"

Conan waved his hands back in forth in his defense. "I.. I didn't mean it like that, promise."

"Never mind it," huffed Venus. "It's not a big deal."

"Outside of the whole hero gig, what else do you do? I mean, you must have hobbies right?"

Venus nodded. "I'm part of my schools girls volley ball team. One of the best on the court," she proudly relayed.

"Hoping to go pro some day?"

"Nah, ultimately I'm hoping to become a popular idol down the line." Excitement was now present in Sailor Venus's voice. "I'm going to be the star of the show."

"An idol?"

"What about you Conan-kun? Surely you have inspirations for the future."

A grin formed as Conan replied. "One day I'm going to become the world's greatest detective."

"No lack of confidence in that declaration," smiled Venus.

The sound of the ocean's waves took over as the two fell silent. Conan looked to the sky once more. "You know, there's something else I'm curious about."

"Yes?"

"Your powers.. how do they work? Were you born with them?"

Sailor Venus shook her head. "Not exactly. They were given to us, or rather.. unlocked."

"Unlocked?" Conan found himself intrigued. Before she had the chance to explain further the sound of a hysterical scream shattered their focus. Conan's eyes popped. "That sound, someone's in trouble!"

Venus wasted not a moment jumping to her feet. "Yes, but who?"

A second more was all it took for the pair to spot a certain individual who charged in their direction. "Look, it's Leo!" Conan pointed. Observing the distance past him Conan didn't spot anything or anyone else near. "He appears to be alone."

Venus was on full alert. "Then just what the hell is he running from?"

They would soon find out. Upon reaching the two Leo stumbled to a stop. "Guys we.. we, need to run!" Leo panted in between breaths. "They, they're coming!"

"Coming? Who is coming?" asked Sailor Venus who looked him deep in the eyes.

"The.. the DEMON HORNETS!" Leo exclaimed before taking off once more.

Conan was now frightened. "What's a demon hornet?"

"Not a clue," replied Venus who was ready to take a stand. "Stay here. Whatever is approaching, I'll see to it that it doesn't get past me."

"What?! You're not serious are you?" Conan was concerned.

Not speaking another word Sailor Venus raced into the direction Leo had come from, mentally preparing for the unexpected. As she paced along her eyes scanned the surrounding area from the sky to the sand below. There was not a single threat to betake.

"Could it be that the enemy is invisible?" This possibility had to be considered. Striding for a bit longer someone finally fell into Venus's line of sight. "Raphael?"

The turtle wearing the red ninja headband comfortably sat up against a tree with his arms stationed behind his head. Raphael soon noticed his tribe mate skipping toward him. "What's cookin' good lookin'?" Raphael remarked.

"Listen, you need to run! There's an incoming threat!" Venus warned.

"A threat?" Raphael propped forward as if to show an interest. "Who's on the attack, one of the other tribes?" There was no way he was going to back down from a fight.

"Well, no. According to Leo a herd of what he described as.. 'demon hornets' were tailing after him," Sailor Venus relayed. Whatever concern resided on Raphael's face instantly faded into disappointment. Without so much as a warning Raphael broke out into tears of laughter. Venus was stunned. "Why are you laughing?"

Raphael refrained from laughing for a moment's time before doing so once more. "It's not what it seems," explained Raph in between giggles.

Venus was now confused. "What are you saying?"

Managing to get himself under control Raphael responded. "What Leo said, the demon hornets." Raph chuckled. "They ain't exactly real ya hear. I was just messin' around with the little dude when he approached me a short time ago. Never knew he'd take my story so serious, dude took off quicker than a deer at the sight of a predator before I could tell em I was just playin'."

Venus was dumbfounded. This quickly turned into disgust then into embarrassment. The tale of the Demon Hornets. Placing her hands upon her waist she glared at Raphael who managed a half grin.

"You mad?" Raphael asked.

Rolling her eyes Sailor Venus turned to walk away, not wishing to waste another moment on the subject. "What an idiot."

"Be weary of the demon hornets," joked Raphael for a final time in wake of her departure.

Sailor Venus reacted by raising her left hand and extending her middle finger in his direction. "Chow."

Raphael smilingly shrugged. "Ah.. women."

Grave Yard Valley

The general feel for those of Tribe Black; gratification. They had conquered the first wall of challenge, gaining their first team victory.

"Gotta say, there was no better way to end that bout than the way we did," Donatello said.

"No kidding, I still can't believe we won." Gohan was astonished. "One moment we were completely surrounded, the next.. we're declared the winners of the whole thing."

"Couldn't have been scripted any better," Franky added. "The shock of the other tribes' faces alone was worth the whole thing."

"They were in notable disbelief," Donatello recalled. "The only downside, given tonight's conclusion I foresee our tribe getting targeted in the coming challenges."

"Hate to say it but I'm inclined to agree," Gohan said. "There definitely was a resentment to be felt from certain individuals."

"No matter who seeks to face us I have no doubt we'll find a way to prevail." Roshi was optimistic. "We may not hoist the most power of all tribes, but what we have is wisdom and what I suspect to be the keenest of minds. Couple that in with this tribe's resilience, I don't see how we can't possibly outlast everyone else."

Gohan, Donatello, Franky, and Yusaku all collectively clapped.

"Couldn't have said it any better," Yusaku voiced.

"That's all well and said. Sure. But ultimately everyone standing here will be at odds at some point, after all," began Trafaglar as he made a move to turn. "Only one of us can stand supreme at games end."

All eyes latched onto the pirate swordsman who followed his words up in departure.

Deathstroke found himself residing with all that was said. "Finally, someone who truly understands the makeup of what is to come."

"That doesn't mean we can't work together until that time comes," Sailor Mars argued.

"Do what you will. But know this my dear, those who are conditioned to stand on their own will be the ones who will still be present for the final lap. Whether you choose to acknowledge that is your decision." Deathstroke too would excuse himself from the larger party. "There is nothing more I have to say."

As Trafaglar before him, Deathstroke too trotted off.

"That man is never going to be a team player is he?" Akako noted what most felt.

"Whether he chooses to or not, that is something we'll have to adapt to," Yusaku said.

"At the end of the day his goal is being the last man standing, for him to have an opportunity at that he'll have to play along," Franky said. "Whether he likes it or not. No one person can elevate themselves to the end without the assistance of others."

"No truer words," Donatello spoke in agreement.

"You know.. with it being our first tribe victory and all who is up for a celebration?" questioned Franky.

Gohan was all for it. "You know, that sounds like a great idea."

"Count me in." Donatello said.

Sailor Mars on the other hand was not as enthusiastic about the idea. "What's there to celebrate? We merrily won a single challenge. I'd hardly call that an accomplishment."

"Hey, celebrating the small things at the very least brings positive energy," Donatello said.

"By celebrating a single victory to me is showing a low standard for what we have set for ourselves," stated Mars in counter.

"I don't think that at all." Gohan ultimately disagreed. "You have to remember we were all brought to this place against our free will and there's no telling how long we'll be here."

"And your point?"

Gohan stumbled through words of response. "What I'm getting at is.. while we're here we might as well try to enjoy ourselves, you know, have a little fun here and there. Stressing ourselves day in and out in regards to overcoming the awaiting obstacles will only string us down overtime if we let it."

"Couldn't have worded it any better Gohan," said Roshi.

Momentarily falling silent Mars turned her back to her tribe-mate. "Do what you will." Following her words she proceeded to depart.

Walking after her, Sailor Saturn followed suit.

"Where you two going?" Donatello asked.

Mars shrugged. "Does it really matter?"

As they marched away Yusaku took a step only to have Gohan block his path all while shaking his head. "Are you sure Gohan-kun? We still don't know this island all that well. There could be dangers that-"

"They can protect themselves, I'm sure of it," Gohan said.

"No better indication then what we saw them put on display in the battle earlier," Akako reminded.

"I guess you're right," Yusaku said.

"Besides there's still a lot we don't know about this island. I say we let them explore." Gohan stood firm. "And who knows maybe they'll come across something that could prove beneficial to us all in the long run."

"Maybe a working and functioning shower." Akako was hopeful.

"I don't see that happening," said Donatello spewing his honesty.

"Don't ruin my hopes," Akako fired back.

"Hey guys, where's Raven?" questioned Gohan.

"She must have left like the others," Roshi assumed. "Clearly when none of us were looking."

"Looks like the majority of our team is not interested in celebrating," said Franky.

"Doesn't mean we can't," Yusaku said.

"Alright, who's got the saki!" shouted Roshi. "Let's get this thing started!"

Gohan looked over his comrade questioningly. "Saki? Pretty sure we don't have any saki on hand."

Franky laughed. "A man can certainly wish."

Yusaku nodded. "You're right. We'll just have to settle for each other's company."

Midnight Mountain

Finding himself a distance away from everyone else Vegeta exhaled softly as his eyes directed to the sky. What was there to feel? Frustration, a level of underwhelming proportions in regards to his own set goals. He became heated by the moment.

"Grrah!"

Removing his glove in a fit of rage he tossed them to the ground. Not stopping there he removed his armor which was followed by his shirt, allowing the nights cool air to softly blow on his bare skin. Vegeta closed his eyes, shouting as if to send a message to anyone who would listen. A flash of light, the booming sound of thunder was the only given response. In its wake came a shower of rain that rushed down. Opening his eyes Vegeta began to laugh, raising his hands as if to accept the incoming storm.

"Well, perhaps someone is listening after all."

Falling back Vegeta crashed to the comfort of the grass beneath. Closing his eyes once more he slowly drifted into the ever flowing thoughts within his own mind.

Time had become lost to the pair. How much distance had they covered from the moment they left the others? Constantine's eyes wondered into the direction of the young man who traveled alongside him, Heiji Hattori. "What's he thinking?"

As they marched Heiji found himself pulled in by the very surroundings they explored. With the rain came the sight of a small tree a short distance away. Curiously reaching out his hand Heiji touched its wet pedals.

Constantine was puzzled. "Outside of that Gero character, I gotta say.. you're one hard lad to figure."

Heiji raised his head. "You're somewhat of a mystery yourself," admitted Heiji in response.

"Not sure how I should feel about that."

"I have a nag for gaining a genuine understanding of someone within ten minutes of interaction. With you, I can't claim that to be the case."

Constantine shrugged. "Callin' it a spade then. Compliment accepted mate."

"If you say so," replied Heiji who then diverted his attention back to the small tree sitting before him. He examined it further. "An apple tree.. yes, I'm sure of it."

Seconds more passed before Constantine stepped forward. "Ay.. you alright? What's with you and that tree?"

Turning Heiji faced him. "I've been through here before, I.. I'm sure of it."

Constantine didn't understand where he was going with this. "So what if you have been through here before? That a problem?"

"This tree," Heiji referred back to. "It wasn't here before."

"So what of it?" Constantine didn't see a problem. "Things grow you know."

Heiji narrowed his eyes over at him. "So a tree is going to magically grow four feet in a matter of twenty four hours?"

"Witnessed much wilder mate, don't know what to tell ya."

Heiji made a move away from the tree. "What do you say we get a move on?"

Constantine shrugged. "No point in camping it out here, I'm game."

Pressing on once more there was only one thing on Heiji's mind. "There's something about this island.. a buried mystery. No matter what, I will unravel it."

Seasonal Plains

With a new bold of confidence Usopp proudly marched with Nightwing trailing a short distance behind.

"What do you think the others are up to?" Usopp questioned.

Nightwing did not have the slightest clue. "Before coming to find you most everyone I saw spoke of calling it quits for the night. When I didn't see you.. well, that lead to my search."

Continuing onward Usopp scanned the surrounding area, disappointed when he failed not to spot any of his other tribe-mates. "Gee, it looks like everyone has gone to bed after all."

Nightwing was unsurprised. "Can you really blame them? Today was taxing, for a lot of us."

"I guess you make a point," said Usopp after giving it thought. Carrying on for a bit longer another of their teammates fell in view. "It's Whis."

Nightwing looked in the pointed direction. Dimension Z's angel stood with his back turned to the pair. He appeared to be holding something in hand, but what? "What's he doing?"

"What do ya say we find out?" replied Usopp.

"Right after you partner."

Whis could sense the arrival of the two. Ejecting his attention away from the material in hand he spun around to greet the duo. "Nightwing, Usopp, I take it your nights are going well, yes?"

"Nothing spectacular," admitted Usopp.

Nightwing got straight to the point. "What are you doing over here all by yourself?"

"Reading," Whis responded.

"Yah, well.. what?"

"The catalogue," Whis informed.

Both Usopp and Nightwing showcased uncertainty. "Catalogue?"

Whis nodded before going on to explain. "The one given to each of our tribes from Bat-Mite." Whis held up the catalogue in question. "With this we can predetermine what we will select before the Goodies Grab begins."

"Oh, the Goodies Grab! I completely forgot about that," Usopp admitted.

"Hey, didn't Bat-Mite mention we would be doing that tomorrow at some point?"

Whis nodded. "That would be correct Nightwing."

"I thought that much." Finding his interest growing Nightwing inched in closer. "So what have your readings uncovered?"

"And he finally enquires the expected." Prepared to give a rundown; Whis referred to the catalogue in hand. "The setup is actually quite simple. There are six different sections, and within each section are six different branches."

"Please do explain."

"The six headline sections should come as no surprise, since they are in representation of each of our worlds."

"Kay, makes sense," said Nightwing who continued to follow along. "Tell us about the six branches within each."

"Now for the good part," Usopp voiced.

Whis did not waste a moment's time. "The six branches are as followed; Medical supplies, weapons, food, clothing goods, building materials, and entertainment."

"The six branches, are they the same for each of our worlds choice of selection?" Usopp asked looking for clarification.

"That's right," Whis confirmed.

"Hey Whis," began Usopp with the wave of his hand. "Mind if I take a look at the catalogue?"

"Not at all. Here," said Whis who held the booklet out for him to take. "Perhaps you'll come across something that entices you."

Just as Usopp received the catalogue in hand another of their tribe-mates strolled into the picture.

"Sailor Moon?" Whis was surprised. "I was convinced you had turned it over for the night."

"Nope. Not yet," Tribe Blue's captain said. It was in those very moments that Sailor Moon noticed the booklet Usopp now hoisted. "Ahe? What you got there?"

Assuming it was the catalogue she spoke of Usopp raised it in hand. "Oh, you mean this? It's the catalogue, you know.. the one given to us by Bat-Mite."

Sailor Moon showcased an expression of confusion. "Catalogue?"

"It appears she has forgotten as well," noted Whis.

"Yep," Nightwing commented.

"Should I explain or would you like the honor?"

"You know, you just had a crack at it," Nightwing began. "Leave it to me, I'll take lead this time."

Hidden Swamp

Luffy waved his hand, flipping from one page to the next. Luna watched him from a few feet away. From her line of sight she couldn't tell what it was he was looking for. Was it something particular?

"Luffy, whatever are you searching for? Perhaps I can help?" Luna asserted.

"Hhaye?" Shrugged Luffy. He continued to search through the catalogue that had been given to them. "There's just so much stuff. I don't know what to choose."

"Perhaps I can make a suggestion?"

Taking a moment to look away from the booklet in hand Luffy faced his comrade. "What would you choose?"

"It's not about what I would choose, after all everyone will be able to individually select something based on how many points they have accumulated," Luna reminded. "What do you want Luffy? Ask yourself that."

"… Meat."

"Meat?"

"Need meat," Luffy declared. With his mind set he referred back to the catalogue. "Where's the meat?!"

Luffy vigorously flipped from one page to the next in search of the sought. Luna was curious about his stance. "Meat? Was there a specific type you had in mind?"

Taking a moment away from the book Luffy looked to his cat tribe-mate. "Any meat."

"Well in the case of that you'd best turn your sights to the food section," Luna suggested.

Luffy's eyes brightened. "Ueow! Show me where the food section is!"

Taking on the task Luna trotted over, hopping onto his left shoulder she began. "Return to the first page Luffy."

"The first page? AahHa! Is that where the meat is?"

"I don't believe that is-"

"Hey! There's no meat!" Luffy cut off upon reverting to the first page.

"Perhaps not, but as suspected this brings us to the table of contents." Luna skimmed over the print before her. It didn't take long for her to nab eye on the line which read 'Dimension Sea'. Scaling down a bit further she spotted exactly what they were searching for. "There it is Luffy, page 825."

"Huh? That where the meat be?"

"That's where the food section for your world begins," Luna noted. "In other words, it's a start."

Moving his hand in a calculative way Luffy found way to the desired page. Tapping a finger upon the page his eyes scoured for the sought prize. He flipped a page, then another. There it was. "Finally, I FOUND IT!" There was a variety of different meats to find as expected.

Luna was a bit surprised. "Hmmm.. it appears all we can obtain is raw materials. I was under the impression we could gain fully prepared meals."

"It's ok." Luffy was far from concerned. "We got Sanji?"

Luna didn't understand what he was getting at. "Sanji?" questioned Luna who turned away from the catalogue. "What does he have to do with any of this?"

"He's the best cook throughout the entire sea. No matter what we get," began Luffy whose mouth began to water. "It'll turn out awesome!"

Luna felt assured. "If your enthusiasm isn't enough indication of his cooking ability I don't know what else can be. Count me as anticipating what his talents bring to our tribe."

"You won't be disappointed." Luffy was confident in saying that. Now came the awaited moment, his decision. "Hmmm… what to choose?"

Natural Forest

Upon leaving the others a small group now stood assembled.

"Is everyone here?" Nami looked to those in attendance to find; Sailor Jupiter, Nico Robin, and Bulma. "I feel like someone is missing."

"Tuxedo Kamen," Jupiter noted. "He said he'd come, I'm certain he'll make an appearance in due time."

"I see no reason to wait." Bulma took a deep breath. "Well since we're here we might as well get straight to the point; the results of the elimination ceremony. We all agreed we would vote for Red Robin's elimination."

"I stayed true to that decision," Jupiter said.

"As did I," Nico added.

"I had no reason to change my vote either," Nami said.

Bulma crossed her arms. "And there is no way I would have voted off Mr. Satan. He is a good friend, and while he was one of the lowest ranked from my world he would have proven to be a reliable asset in the long run."

Nico Robin's eyes flickered. "So if none of us changed what we had agreed upon that only leaves one person."

"Me," a voice carried from above, prompting all of them to look.

"Tuxedo Kamen," said Jupiter as the masked man leaped down from the tree above.

"Let us put an end to the mystery," began Tuxedo Kamen who stood upright. "I was the one who altered my decision at the ceremony."

They were all shocked. No one more than Sailor Jupiter. "What do you mean you changed your vote?"

Reacting immediately Bulma dropped her arms to her hips. "Hey! I want an explanation! We had an agreement!"

"Yes we did, and I broke that agreement," Tuxedo Kamen acknowledged.

Sailor Jupiter took a step. "Why though? What prompted you to change your vote?"

Bulma was heated. "And what made you vote for Mr. Satan of all people?!"

Tuxedo Kamen would go on to give the answers they sought. "It is simple; I refrained from voting for Red Robin for two reasons. The first; he was clearly not our tribes weakest link, proven by his wits in not only deciphering our Tribe's flag in the Goodies Game, but in the tie breaker challenge against Mr. Satan. Had it not been for him we would have not determined this island was in fact the flag.. at least not before the countdown," Tuxedo Kamen explained. "The other reason I decided against giving Red Robin my card is the very fact he out of everyone on this tribe has the closest ties to Bat-Mite named champion."

"The Batman," Nico noted.

Tuxedo Kamen nodded. "By watching perhaps I can learn something about how Batman operates through my observations of one of his protégées."

"Thinking ahead I see. I foresee you lasting for quite some time in this challenge," Nico Robin commented.

"That is the plan."

"Hey you! You still have yet to answer why you chose to vote off Mr. Satan of all people!" Bulma exclaimed. "Why not choose Hakuba-kun? Hell, or even that plant woman?! No one seems to like her."

Tuxedo Kamen sighed. "Please take no offense Bulma when I say Mr. Satan in my eyes had the least to offer out of everyone on this island."

Bulma strongly disagreed. "What do you mean he had the least to offer?! In my world he held the title of champion in combat on planet Earth."

"I can't deny such an accomplishment. But one must understand; being a great fighter isn't the only requirement to lasting in a test of survival, in the short time that I got to know him.. Satan-san showed nothing beyond that. An applied excellence in multiple fields will be needed." Tuxedo Kamen paused briefly before singling out one of the few before him. "Nami-san."

Nami was caught by surprise. "Aeh.. ya?"

"You're a great navigator, have shown acceptable fighting skills, and have a notable gift for taking command."

"Well, um.. thanks, I guess?" Nami as well as everyone else were uncertain where he was going with this.

Tuxedo Kamen would not stop there. "Nico Robin, you're confident as much as you are self-aware, not just of your immediate surroundings but of every evolving situations that require distinct action." He then looked to the next subject. "And you Bulma; like Nami you are assertive, and while you may not have the necessary skills of a fighter the words from both Bat-Mite and Goten in regards to your formidable intelligence is something that has stayed on mind. I have no doubt you will prove to be a welcomed asset down the line at one point or another."

This left only one. "Sailor Jupiter, I have fought at your side, as you have at mine. You're strong willed, and have a collection of abilities that will help reel our team going forward," Tuxedo Kamen continued. "Each of you brings a number of attributes to the table that make up the core strength of our tribe. Not only those of you who stand before me; Wonder Woman, Goten, Renet, Poison Ivy, Saguru Hakuba, and even Red Robin, they too have unique and defining qualities that add to our tribe. In the little time I spent with Satan-sama, my general consensus was ultimately he was our tribe's weakest member."

"Had you given him time you would have seen how useful he could have been," Bulma argued.

Tuxedo Kamen faced her. "Unfortunately first impression was all I had to act off of."

"You made a mistake; you should have stuck to the plan."

"Taking a gamble in that regard was not a risk I was willing to take Bulma," Tuxedo Kamen responded. "And if given the chance of a redo, my decision would remain."

Silence ensued. The tension that flowed present was strong. Not a word was spoken. Feeling the discussion had reached its conclusion Tuxedo Kamen looked to make an exit. Upon turning he conveyed a final message.

"While your claim of dispute with me is that I altered my vote, in conclusion eliminating someone close to you.. is that really the root of your quarrel with me Bulma? Or is it you feel I have betrayed your trust? If the former; hopefully you will come to understand in time. If the later.. well then, that certainly leaves a dent."

Shortly thereafter Tuxedo Kamen vanished past the towering trees that stood high above, leaving the four women to stand, the thought of 'what next?' residing with each.

Living Jungle

Everyone was now gathered, sitting around a camp fire that had been started. The time had finally come.

"Alight ladies, gentlemen, trees, and nature alike, it is time for the long anticipated name game!"

"Really? The name game? He couldn't come up with something more creative?" Kogoro criticized under his breath.

"Here is how it is going to work. Everyone will get one minute to review their cards. Once that minute is up its show time," Michelangelo declared.

"Hey," waved Trunks. "How is it going to work exactly? Are we all going to openly take turns guessing whose card we ended up with?"

Michelangelo nodded. "That's right, don't forget one important detail," Michelangelo said. "If anyone guesses the wrong name to the owner of their card scary consequences are to come."

Lex seemed unbothered. "And what are these so called consequences? Are you going to have us sing you a song?"

"Oh, you'll see," Michelangelo replied in a sinister like matter.

Both Buu and Brook gulped fearfully. Kogoro on the other hand crossed his arms. "As if I'm worried."

"Any more questions for your captain?" Michelangelo proudly enquired as he glanced over everyone seated in the large circle. When no one replied he looked to his left wrist. "Well, let the countdown begin. In one minute we will begin."

"Wait, hold up a sec," Beast Boy spoke up.

"What's wrong?" Michelangelo asked.

"You totally just eyed your wrist. Dude, you totally don't even have a watch!" Beast Boy pointed out.

Michelangelo shrugged. "Just a habit."

Buu looked over at Michelangelo suspiciously. "How you know when minute up when you not know time?"

"I've got this nifty thing we call a time clock," replied Michelangelo who pointed to his head. "Will there be anything else? Anybody?"

Not a word was spoken. Michelangelo whistled. "Let the minute begin."

Everyone referred to each of the cards they held in their possession.

Beast Boy reeled his note card in firm and close, doing his best to make sense of the written message. "Choclate gwate! mE liice peenat butter and cheese! Me luv all yum yums!"

His eyes briefly scanned everyone who sat gathered around the burning flame. A grin molded as realization settled in. "I know who this card belongs to." Beast Boy was confident in his reached conclusion.

Trunks's mind had not changed. There was no doubt the written message he ended up with belonged to either Beast Boy or Michelangelo. But which of the two? The presented speech pattern could be either. Could there be something within the written lines that could reveal the truth?

"I'm the baddest dude you'll ever meet! Reading comics is an extreme joy, taking down ninja wrong doers is part of the game, and above all.. I LOVE PIZZA!"

There had to be something within the message that swayed the advantage to one over the other.. but what?

"I am widely considered the greatest detective where I am from. There is no mystery that I can't crack." Sailor Neptune believed she had unlocked the face behind the notes creator.

"Mouri Kogoro. Of everyone in this tribe he is the only one who has alluded to being a renowned detective." There was not the slightest doubt in her mind who the card belonged to.

Majin Buu studied his note card long and hard as if to prepare for a test. "I own my own company." That was the message from start to finish. It didn't get any simpler than that. It didn't change the fact Buu was clueless as to the writer.

The same could be said for Kogoro who had yet to determine his note cards writer. "I love fighting! I always train to get stronger! I'm hoping there are really strong people on this island as well."

There was only a select few in his mind who could have written this message. "If I had to guess, I'd say the top candidates for writing this is between Buu, Beast Boy, Goku, and that captain of ours. There has been no one I have seen thus far since I arrived here who appears to enjoy battle more than them." Kogoro brought a hand to chin as he thought deeper on the matter. "Still too many candidates; I've got to narrow the possibilities down somehow."

He thought harder on the matter. "Given the way it's written I can at the very least eliminate Buu from the equation, his speech pattern wouldn't exactly fit with what is written here." This left only three of consideration in his mind. "While Beast Boy seemed to enjoy himself in the battle earlier today, he seems more interested in getting laughs out of everyone. Both Goku and Michelangelo are more likely. The only question remaining.. which of the two?"

Yukiko had read over the note a number of times within the past forty eight hours, and like before she didn't feel she was any closer to unraveling the face behind her selected card. "Art fascinates me. I also have a hand for the violin."

Yukiko sighed. "That literally could be anyone here," she softly spoke. "I can't possibly know any of this by just looking at someone."

"I am an insect, I am a fish. I can whistle like a bird, or roar like a lion. I am the entire animal kingdom. Who am I?" Fugitoid was confident.

"No doubt which fella this card belongs to."

Brook held up the card that was in his possession. "I am half human and half saiyan." He was as close to determining who the mystery person was just as much as he had when he initially received the card. "I must figure this out. Little time remains."

Goku turned his card not only upside down but to the opposite side in hopes of finding a possible clue. He had no idea who had written the message on the notecard he received.

"My birth name is Zayton Honeycutt. I am a scientist who was born on a planet known as D'Hoonib."

Sitting with his legs crossed he tapped his left index finger upon his right wrist as he thought long and hard on the matter. "Ok, so the note starts off by them mentioning their birth name; that must mean whoever wrote this isn't going by their real name. That automatically eliminates Trunks and Majin Buu from the possibilities," Goku coursed in mind. "Of everyone else here, who is the most likely to not be using their real name?"

Unfortunately he wouldn't have the time to weigh the possibilities.

"Alright, times up!" Michelangelo shouted at minutes end.

"Huh?" Goku lifted a finger. "Ya sure that was a whole minute?"

"You bet!"

"Are.. are you really sure? I kinda feel like ya shorted us a bit," argued Goku who was looking to buy himself some more time.

"I must back Son Goku on this matter. According to my inner time clock 3.00623 seconds remained before the full minute was up," Fugitoid voiced.

"Gotta love the spot on calculation," Kogoro commented.

"Pssphhh! It's just three minor seconds. Not really going to make that much of a difference," Michelangelo stated.

"Are we done arguing? I for one would just like to get this over with," Lex voiced.

"Someone is anxious," replied Michelangelo who stood to his feet before smiling brightly. "In that case why don't you get us kick started?"

"Actually I'd like to go first if you don't mind," Kogoro jumped in.

"Fine by me." Michelangelo saw no problem with this.

Kogoro cut straight to it. "I love fighting! I always train to get stronger! I'm hoping there are really strong people on this island as well."

"So, a, who ya got?" Beast Boy asked.

Kogoro looked to Goku, then Michelangelo. Going with his gut he spoke the name of the person who he believed wrote the message. "Goku, does this notecard belong to you?"

"Yaaah! You did it! Great guess Kogoro!" Goku congratulated.

"Go on Luthor, you're up," Kogoro passed on.

Lex grunted, accepting to continue the event of the guessing game. "So how goes the process? I read the message and then proceed to predict whom the card belongs to as Kogoro did?"

"Bingo," confirmed Michlangelo giving the thumbs up.

Lowering his sights to the paper in hand Lex read off the written. "My greatest presence is not one that can be seen, for I do not have the essentials for such a thing. My voice is what speaks to one's soul, bringing a spirit of art for all to hear."

"Hmmmm.. I wonder who that is?" Goku said.

"Same dude, I aint got a clue," Beast Boy admitted.

"That too was the case for me, but only at first. Upon reflection it didn't take me long to figure who was the owner of this card," Lex said. "Sight and voice are the standing theme of this message, one rolled into the form of a riddle. This person stressed the importance of voice in the hand of their lack of sight. This to me left one eye grabbing candidate. Brook? I suspect this to be your card, yes?"

All eyes fell on the skinless pirate who clapped in applause. "Yohohohoho! Splendid comrade. You guessed correct."

Smiling proudly Lex tossed his card into the wake of the flames, watching as the slip of paper flickered into ashes. "It would appear I have alluded the a.. dangerous consequences, as you put it?"

"Hfrph, lucky guess," Michelangelo muttered under breath.

"Who next?! Buu want to go!" Buu volunteered.

"I must politely decline your decision," Lex spoke in response. "I feel whoever is to correctly guess the name of the person linked to a card should choose who is to go next."

"You know, that's a great idea," Trunks backed.

"I see nothing wrong with that." Sailor Neptune had no objections.

"Sounds fair to me." Yukiko too agreed.

"I got no complaints," added Beast Boy who sat back.

"Captain," began Lex who looked toward Michelangelo. "It appears we have come to a mutual agreement."

Michelangelo was not sure how to feel. "Well, um.. sure, why not? So who do you pick to go next?"

Lex showcased a look of delight. "I kindly thank you for asking captain. Now onto the question you pose, hmmm.. who should I choose to go next?"

Sailor Neptune chuckled, having a good idea for where this was going.

Lex looked around the circle before bringing his sights back to the one of choice. "Michelangelo, why don't you take the honor of continuing these.. proceedings?"

"Of course he would choose me," Michelangelo huffed under his breath. Putting on a smile Michelangelo reluctantly raised the card he had ended up with. "I am a happy wife as I am a mother, but when the show lights shine bright I can be man, an alien, a hero I can be just as easily as a villain. After all it is nothing more than an act."

After reading the written Michelangelo tucked his card back into his belt.

"Don't keep us waiting now. What's your guess?" Trunks asked

"Yes Michelangelo," said Yukiko who clapped her hands together. "Whose note is that?"

Before he was able to give an answer Beast Boy had something of his own to add. "Remember, if you guess wrong there will be dangerous consequences," said Beast Boy with a sinister tune of his own.

"Psstph!" Michelangelo was unconcerned. "Not even worried, it's clear whose card I ended up with."

"And your guess is?" Brook asked.

"Well for starters, this person claimed they are a woman but can also be a man among many other things," Michelangelo referred back to. Lifting a finger he continued. "That tells me this person has a special ability, one which allows them to change into anything or anyone."

Lex was becoming growingly impatient. "Come on, just get on with it already."

"Fine, fine," Michelangelo fired back. Setting his sights on a certain individual, he spoke his pick. "Yo Beast Boy, this your card?"

Beast Boy was shocked, dumbfounded even. After a couple silent filled moments passed Michelangelo spoke once more. "It is yours.. right?"

Beast Boy fell back as he busted out in laughter. Michelangelo was now confused just as much as he was worried.

Finally able to collect himself Beast Boy sat up. "Dude! Like since when can I morph into a woman?!" The Teen Titan then took a moment to wipe away the tears that had rushed to eye. "Animal swapping is my thing, not gender swapping."

Michelangelo gulped as a look of fear rushed to face. "So if that wasn't your notecard, then whose is it?"

Before anyone had a chance to claim it as their own Sailor Neptune chimed in. "It isn't hard to figure."

"You believe you have the answer? Please do reveal," Fugitoid said.

Sailor Neptune quoted the written. "As it said; 'I am a happy wife as I am a mother, but when the show lights shine bright I can be man, an alien, a hero I can be just as easily as a villain. After all it is nothing more than an act." Neptune paused. "Show lights and an act, combining the two gives view to the hidden within the message."

Beast Boy was drawn in. "Which is?"

"A show, an act.. the person behind the message is some kind of performer. The first part of the note they revealed they were a wife as well as a mother. There is only one other person on this tribe who is a woman besides me, that person and also the one to write the message is," Neptune began as she looked directly to the suspected. "Kudo Yukiko."

Not leaving in doubt Yukiko responded by clapping. "I have been uncovered."

Shock filled Michelangelo's face. "What?! You have the ability to turn into a man?"

Facing him Yukiko looked to clarify. "Not literally, but in show. I am an actress," Yukiko revealed. "Playing a multitude of roles is a talent of mine."

Michelangelo was bummed. "Man! I totally didn't consider the whole acting thing in my thought process."

Beast Boy nudged him. "The first line pretty much told ya a lady wrote it, yet you guessed it was mine for whatever reason, epic fail dude," a laughing Beast Boy stated.

"Whatever," murmured Michelangelo who looked in a different direction.

"Michelangelo failed in making the correct prediction, so how then will we decide who goes next?" Beast Boy asked.

"Well Sailor Neptune was successful in deducing Yukiko Kudo was the one to write the note, so I think it is reasonable she chooses who goes next," Trunks said.

"That seems fine to me." Brook was all for it.

"Who you goanna choose Neptune?" winked Beast Boy.

Upon giving it a seconds thought she made her decision. "If I may I would like to take a crack at answering the mark of my own notecard."

Still bummed about his incorrect guess from before Michelangelo gave the go ahead nod. "Hopefully you have better luck than I did, after all you guessed mine."

Sailor Neptune raised her selected notecard, reading its line the moment her eyes made contact. "I am widely considered the greatest detective where I am from. There is no mystery that I can't crack." Neptune immediately looked in the direction of the suspected. "Mouri Kogoro, you were the one to write this, were you not?"

Kogoro was at a loss for words. "That easy huh?"

"There was none more suited than you. Once I began the process of elimination it didn't take long for your name to stand alone," Sailor Neptune conveyed. "This was based on not only my observations of you, but what you have said."

"Huh, guess I shouldn't be surprised then." Kogoro was impressed to say the least. "You know for a kid you're quite clever. I'd even wager you could become a solid detective one day if you put your mind to it."

Neptune nodded. "Compliment appreciated Mouri-sama."

"Smartness and beauty all neatly wrapped into the perfect package," Beast Boy commented.

"Thank you Beast Boy," Neptune replied.

"Call me BB babe," replied Beast Boy who pointed with his hand in the shape of a gun.

"Ookay," Trunks jumped in looking to get things back on track. "Sailor Neptune, given your success for a second time in a row, who do you choose to go next?"

"Hmmm.." Sailor Neptune looked over the lot of choices. Going full circle her eyes landed back on him. "Trunks? Would you like to go next?"

He would not decline. "Why I'd love to," Trunks replied. Reaching into his jacket he pulled out his notecard that was stashed away.

"So, what's it say Trunks?" Goku was anxious to know which card he ended up with.

"Whelp, here goes nothing," said Trunks in preparation. "I'm the baddest dude you'll ever meet! Reading comics is an extreme joy, taking down ninja wrong doers is part of the game, and above all.. I LOVE PIZZA!"

"Uoohhh, I wonder who that could be?" Fugitoid spoke with a hint of sarcasm.

"Go on now, what is your guess for who it is?" Yukiko pressed.

"This honestly wasn't hard. Given the speech pattern in the way it was written there were only two names that came to mind, deciding between the two came down to a single line." Trunks looked to one person specifically. "Michelangelo, this your card buddy?"

Michelangelo tipped his head in confirmation. "Sure is dude. How'd you know?"

"Like I said it came down to something specific you wrote. Admittedly I wasn't sure if it was you or Beast Boy who wrote the message," Trunks said.

"Don't keep us hangin', what was the deciding factor?" Beast Boy asked.

"Ninja," Trunks simply put.

"Huh, ninja?" Kogoro leaned forward. "Explain."

"Well if you recall our first day here Michelangelo not only referred to himself but the rest of his crew as the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'," Trunks reminded. "Taking that into account I figured, well, this notecard must belong to the captain."

"Looks as if your leap in a hunch paid off," Lex noted.

"I'd say it did." Trunks was pleased to have guessed correctly. Now what came next, who to select. "So, who to choose next."

Trunks named the first person to fall into view. "Beast Boy, why don't you have a go at it?"

"Sure thing dude, I'm game," Beast Boy happily accepted. "I'ma fixing to let you all know straight up, the writing of this message isn't exactly going to take home any awards for grammatical correctness, so if I screw up a line or two please do understand."

Clearing his throat Beast Boy would go on to read the written. "Choclate… gwate? mE.. liice peenat butter, and cheese! Me.. me luv all yum yums!"

Understandably there was confusion from those who listened on. Goku raised his hand before proceeding to speak. "Aeh, you sure you read that right? Cus I could barely understand what you were saying."

"A shared sentiment," Lex noted.

"Don't believe me, take a look for yourself," Beast Boy offered up by holding out the notecard for any willing participant to take.

Of everyone it was Yukiko who was the one to accept the note into hand, reading almost just as soon. "Choclate gwate! mE liice peenat butter and cheese! Me luv all yum yums!" She did not know what to make of it.

"See! It's like a bucket of gibberish," Beast Boy said. "My guess, given the nonsensical beat of the message I'd say it is Majin Buu's."

All eyes fell on the pink fighter. "Yo Buu, is it yours?" asked Goku.

Buu simply shrugged. "Me no remember." He laughed following his words of uncertainty.

"Ahhhh.. so how are we supposed to know if it is his or not?" Beast Boy questioned.

"It's simple," Kogoro said as he directed attention to all. "Does this card belong to any of the rest of you?"

All shook their heads in decline. This brought confirmation in Kogoro's mind. "Well there you have it."

Buu clapped in conclusion of the result. "Great job Beast Boy!"

"You already know," Beast Boy pointed. "Alright, now's my turn to choose."

Skimming he made a quick decision. "Batter up Fugitoid! It's your turn!" shouted Beast Boy who tossed his slip of paper in the direction of the awaiting flame.

"Why thank you Beast Boy, I was not anticipating you would be so bold to choose me. Let me not delay." Taking a moment to prep Fugitoid read off the written aloud. "I am an insect, I am a fish. I can whistle like a bird, or roar like a lion. I am the entire animal kingdom. Who am I?"

Upon finishing the reading Fugitoid locked eyes with the one to speak his name. "Beast Boy, I can only assume you are the creator of this beautifully written piece?"

Beast Boy snapped his fingers with an added wink. "BAM! Hit it right on the mark bro."

"Wow," Yukiko commented. "I never would have predicted you to be the one to write that, count me impressed Beast Boy."

Beast Boy proudly leaned to the tree behind. "I am a beast of many talents."

"I suppose I must now choose someone share their mystery note," Fugitoid said as he scanned for any who remained yet to speak. "Brook, how about you?"

"At long last, my time has come!" Unlike everyone else Brook slowly stood to his feet, adjusting not only his collar but his tie as well before pulling out and spraying a freshener of some kind into his mouth.

Sailor Neptune was humored. "He is so extra right now."

"Yohhoho! I'd be delighted." Like those before him Brook pulled his notecard to forefront. "Gentlemen.. ladies, the message reads as followed; 'I am half human and half saiyan'."

"Huh?" Michelangelo was underwhelmed. "All that pre speech hype just for that?"

Hearing the read there was no doubt in Goku's mind who the note belonged. "Wonder if Brook knows who it is. Should be interesting to see who he picks."

"Let's hear it, what is your guess Brook?" Yukiko asked.

"Well, I'd be lying to you all if I said it was an easy choice, no. I was stumped. A human is familiar territory, but a saiyan?" Brook paused, turning he faced Goku. "Then I remembered something you said."

Goku pointed to himself as if to look for confirmation. "Aeh.. me?"

"That transformation of yours back in the battle royal, you referred to yourself as a super saiyan at that time. I have not a clue what a saiyan is or represents, but I can only assume you are one?"

Goku smilingly slid his thumb across his top lip. "Hehehe, maybe."

"Keeping that in mind I assume saiyans are unique to your world, and since your card and Buu's was already drawn that leaves only Trunks." Brook faced his choice. "Trunks, is this your card?"

"Process of elimination huh?" Trunks nodded giving the sought confirmation. "You got it."

"Ok, so I gotta know. Does your super saiyan goldie lox transformation work just like Goku's?!" Beast Boy was anxious to know.

"Yes, more or less," Trunks answered.

"I'm certain I am not the only one interested in knowing what this.. 'super saiyan' state of yours grants," Fugitoid spoke.

Trunks was more than willing to answer. "When in our super saiyan forms our speed, strength, durability, and inner power all increase significantly," Trunks explained.

"A raise in all physicals, I see." Fugitoid was intrigued. "Count me as interested in the biology behind a saiyan."

"I know it's a stretch, but.. you guys got any other awesome transformations outside of the one we saw?" Michelangelo asked.

"Hahm!" laughed Goku who placed his hands behind his head. "You'll just have to wait and see."

Michelangelo's eyes lit up, he was hopeful.

"What is the key behind unleashing your, well, super form?" Fugitoid asked.

"Well that's another story all in itself, one we'll have to save for another time. After all we still have a guessing game to complete," Trunks replied. "If you're up for it later, I'd love to give you a complete rundown Fugitoid."

"I look forward to it," the robot replied.

"Yo Brook, who you goanna choose to go next?" Beast Boy asked.

Unlike most there was no hesitation to his choice. "Goku, you're up."

"Ya! It's finally my turn!" Like Brook before him Goku leaped to his feet. "Alright let's see here."

Yanking out his note that was stashed in the security of his gi Goku read to everyone what his note said. "My birth name is Zayton Honeycutt. I am a scientist who was born on a planet known as D'Hoonib."

Narrowing his eyes Goku studied over the note thoroughly before looking over all who remained yet to have their name attached to one of the notecards.

"Gee, how quickly you jumped up one would'a thought you had your pick on lock," Michelangelo said.

"Right!" Beast Boy agreed completely. "Goku over here checking his out like he's some next level gen private investigator stuff."

"Stop you two, you could be distracting him," Yukiko intervened.

Goku internally read over the notecard a few more times. "There's still a few left who this could be. I doubt it's Sailor Pluto." With her eliminated from the equation this left two remaining candidates. "Lex or Fugitoid.. it has to be one of them, not sure who. I might just have to gamble."

Clearing his throat Goku scanned his eyes over his prime suspects.

"Come on, don't keep us waiting. What's your guess?" Kogoro pressed.

Closing his eyes tightly in hope he'd be correct Goku blurted his answer. "Fugitoid! Does this card belong to you?!"

The robot nodded in confirmation. "Indeed it does."

Goku pumped his fist in success. "Great, I knew it!"

This was a surprise to many. "You for real right now? You're a scientist and your real name is Honeycutt?"

"That would be correct Beast Boy," Fugitoid responded.

"And that's only scratching the surface. My guy Fugitoid here used to be a normal dude long before he became a robot," Michelangelo revealed to all.

"What? That true Fugitoid?" Goku asked.

"It is," Fugitoid replied.

This raised the obvious. "Now I gotta ask, what turn of events lead to you, well.. becoming a robot?" Trunks was astonished by the fact of it all.

"Well Trunks that is a story of its own. Perhaps I can trade that story with yours at a later time, yes?"

Trunks nodded. "Deal."

With his turn all wrapped up Goku knew what came next. "Alright Yukiko, you're up."

Yukiko smiled. "That was quite the fast decision. I'd say you had me in mind the entire time."

Goku would not speak in denial as he took a seat like everyone else. "There weren't many options left so.."

"It was only a matter of time." Like those before her Yukiko too shared what was written on the notecard she had ended up with. "Art fascinates me. I also have a hand for the violin."

Setting the note in hand aside Yukiko looked to the only two remaining candidates the note could belong to. Lex Luthor or Sailor Neptune. She was confident with who she would choose.

"Gotta say, Sailor Neptune." Yukiko placed her hands together as if to beg. "Please tell me I'm right."

"You got it," replied Sailor Neptune giving the good news.

Yukiko sighed in relief. "Thank goodness. I was fearful I would be joining Michelangelo in the losers pin." Capping it off she evilly grinned at her captain's expense.

"Hey!" Michelangelo exclaimed.

Attention would be drawn back to the subject in the spotlight. "Do you really know how to play the violin Sailor Neptune?" asked Fugitoid.

"I do," Neptune replied leaving no doubt.

"What a delightful reveal, I would have never guessed."

"Too bad there aren't any violins lying around. I don't think I speak for myself in saying we'd have all liked to hear you play," Yukiko said.

"We shall never lose hope, for that opportunity could very well present itself," Brook stated.

Beast Boy looked at him intently. "You sayin' you got a violin on hand?"

Brook gave the immediate head shake. "No; only pointing out that anything is possible."

"Given how we ended up on this island.. this world, you know, I'm inclined to agree," Kogoro voiced.

"What do you guys say we close this up?" said Trunks shifting gears. "We're almost one right?"

"Sure nuff, Majin Buu is the only one who has yet to read off his card," Beast Boy alerted.

Sailor Neptune was surprised, impressed even. "You've been keeping count Beast Boy?"

"You know the great BB do what he do," replied Beast Boy with a tune of cockiness.

"Let's hear it! What's your card say Buu?!" Goku asked.

He shrugged his shoulders. "Buu na know?"

"What do you mean you don't know?" questioned Kogoro.

"Maybe he just needs someone to read it for him," Yukiko figured. Taking it upon herself to assist she leaned over to share the written. "I own my own company."

A short pause carried in the following moments. "Is that the message?" Brook asked.

Yukiko nodding her head brought confirmation. "That's what it says."

"Super descriptive," Beast Boy sarcastically remarked.

"Go on Buu, who do you believe wrote the message?" Trunks asked.

Majin Buu looked to one in particular. "I guess it belong to Lexy, everyone else name called already."

"It would appear he was paying attention just as much as Beast Boy. I have to admit, that's really impressive," Kogoro said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" questioned Beast Boy who looked over at him with a suspicion to display.

"That's it, we've finally completed the name game!" Brook felt the need to announce.

"And to think everyone showed out except for this buster," said Beast Boy who nudged Michelangelo.

"Don't remind me," a sour Michelangelo spoke.

"Soooo…" began Beast Boy who rubbed his hands together as a sinister look rose to face. "About that dangerous consequence for any to guess incorrectly..."

All eyes were now on Tribe Pink's captain. He could see it on their faces, no matter what it may be consequences for his fail was soon to take shape. "Oh come on guys."

Grave Yard Valley

Yin and Yang.. darkness in relation to light; opposite sides to a coin. Was this not the edge of possibility that he now stood upon? Deathstroke very much believed this. Two halves of a valley, one of normalcy, the other.. a mystery. Just what had those from his tribe encountered when they traveled to the other side? This was something he was determined to uncover for himself.

"Just how many secrets lay dormant in the land of the unknown?" Deathstroke stared on, a number of wonders clouding through his mind. "No matter its secrets, I will uncover them all."

Unknown to Deathstroke someone watched him from afar, Trafaglar. The pirate observed, noting his every move. Not a word needed to be spoken, nor an action taken. Trafaglar knew what was on the assassins mind, for he too had a growing interest for what awaited in the mirroring land.

"Soon I'll know for myself."

Midnight Mountain

Sunk into the abyss of darkness, uncertainty; was that the void he found himself trapped within? In many ways it couldn't feel any truer. It was like being in a shared realm of reality and something of the unknown. Something drifted in from the outside, its touch came without warning; a wet sensation that surfed through the inner cracks of his abs. Vegeta twitched a finger, caught off guard by its announcement. Rain.. could the fall of rain be upon him?

What had begun only continued, the substance which he'd compare to a snail traced the outline of his lower figure. Ascending further up his body brought with it warmth one would compare to a hot wind on a summer day. He held back a moan, a subtle amount of pleasure brushing over him. It all felt so surreal. Was he dreaming? No matter its truth he could not deny its persistence. The slithering warmth soon glided across the tops of his neck; just how far would it go?

The longer it went on the more real it seemed to become. The ki presence of another revealed itself through the fog of uncertainty. Finally pressing to make a move up Vegeta was forced back by an opposing force.

"What?!"

Everything happened so fast. The weight of another pressed atop him, bringing no doubt he was no longer alone. Vegeta's eyes prowled open to find someone laying over him, a woman. There was no mistaking who it was.

"Quinn.. what the hell?!"

Responding with a suggestive grin Harley waved. "Hey'a captain."

In a rise of pure instinct Vegeta forced her off, leaping to his feet all in one motion. Looking downward her faint giggles could be heard as she rolled up into a sitting position. Veget looked on in shock as the moon's light revealed her nakedness in plain sight. He was stunned.

Knowing she had his full undivided attention Harley's smirk widened. Straddling herself back ever so slightly she proceeded to open the gates to her legs. Vegeta turned away in defiance. She would not let this detract her. "Ooh come on Mista V. Why don'tcha come over here and hit me wit' the full force of that big bang attack of yours?"

What will happen next you ask? Find out in the next exciting chapter of 'Survivor of the 66'!
