Hey guys, this update is super long this week as it's something I've wanted to write for quiet a while, so enjoy. Also, I'm going on holiday this Saturday, hence the reason for the early update, and I will still be writing so hopefully get a new chapter out for you as usual.

P.S: Just a warning, but things do tend to get a little on the darker side so I'm just warning you ahead.

Thx to everybody who review, faved, and alerted, it still means a lot even this far into the story.

She cautiously walked forward, her pendant pulsing a little more lively with each step. Before she could look around the room she was now in, she was engulfed in a bright white light and felt her whole body freeze as she was lifted into the air in a sort of stasis.

When she opened her eyes it was as if the sun was streaming directly into them. She felt herself reach up and rub the sleep from them, her body waking up. When she regained her vision completely she realized she was in bed and was being tightly hugged by someone. Looking down she found Brittany fast asleep in her arms.

The blonde shifted and woke up slowly, looking up at Santana and smiling. "Good morning" She greeted, leaning up to kiss her.

Santana automatically kissed her back, her body doing what it wanted. It almost felt as if she didn't have control at all. "Hi" She grinned back, kissing the blonde back.

They heard a giggle from down the hallway way outside and Brittany grinned. "Looks like our little girl is up"

"Yeah" She sighed, wanting nothing more to keep snuggling with her wife.

"Don't be sad San. I promise to make it up to you later" Brittany purred, kissing the Latina's pulse point before getting up and sauntering out of the room.

Santana just laid back, her arms resting under her head as she stared up at the obviously Asian inspired ceiling. It almost looked familiar. Her body moved of it's own accord as she stood up, changing into an outfit that was extremely similar to her wedding outfit but more practical.

Once she was ready she made her way out and downstairs to the kitchen. Brittany was sat at the table with what seemed to be a six year old Honey. The little girl looked up, a smile plastering itself over her face as she saw her Latina mother.

"Mami!" She cried, jumping down from her chair and running over to her.

Santana grinned, kneeling down and catching the running girl in her arms, spinning her around high in the air. Honey giggled and Brittany grinned from her place at the table, a coffee cup cradled in her hands.

When Santana put the little girl down they both made their way back over to the table, Brittany greeting Santana with a kiss. They sat and ate breakfast in a comfortable silence, and when they were done Santana said goodbye to the two of them before making her way outside, her sword now strapped to her waist.

It seemed as if her body worked by itself, going through a quiet day of training and daily activities around the Kobejitsu compound. By the time sunset came, Santana was just about to return to her house when the alarm for hostiles rang out throughout the compound.

She immediately switched into protector mode and weaved in and out of people running in all different directions in fear. Her first instincts were to check on her family. She dodged various people, heading towards her house and as she was about to cross the main area of the compound, she stopped.

Ahead of her the attackers were making their way towards Akinori's office. Knowing that they hadn't seen her yet she ducked into the shadow's, the night now in full force. Buildings burned above her and she couldn't help the painful stab in her chest at the sight of her home being destroyed. Smoke was starting to paint the skies and a dull orange glow pulsed into the night above.

The figures came back out and as she watched them carefully, she realized that they were dressed from head to toe in nothing but black making it so that they couldn't be identified. Quinn and Tina snook up beside her.

"What's happening?" Quinn asked.

"The attackers have Akinori"

"What do we do?"

"We get him back and ash the bastards"

"How do you know they're vampires?"

"I just do. I can smell it. Tina, go and find Britt and Honey and make sure they're safe. Quinn, you're with me. Let's go"

Tina went back the way she came and Quinn got ready for a confrontation. "You ready S?"

"Oh, hell yes"

Quinn smiled and they made their way towards the group that were crossing the compounds yard, heading for the exit.

"Hey!" Santana called out.

The group immediately froze up, looking at her. Akinori was thrown behind them, hitting a pillar and falling to the floor. Santana growled, the sight of her adoptive father being thrown around as nothing more than a worthless object boiling her blood.

Her hands clutched her sword tightly in her hand as she stood in front of them. "Reveal yourselves"

Surprisingly they did as they were told, Santana expecting to have a bit more resistance. The group was made up of four people. Santana gasped when they took off their ninja-like head pieces.

Finn, Sabas, Jessica, and Joe all stood smiling at her, fangs out in plain view.

Santana gasped, ready to fight. But before she could do anything she felt a bag being thrown over her head and both her hands were bound behind her back. She cursed herself for letting her guard down in a time when she needed it most. She was pushed to the floor and as she knelt she heard Finn directing the others.

"Bring them over here. Make sure that they can see. Ok, take the bags off"

The bag was removed and in front of her Quinn, Tina, Brittany, and Akinori were all knelt down, facing her. She then realized that Rachel was on one side of her whilst Marley was on the other. Jessica smirked at her from beside Finn as she held Honey's hand, keeping the little girl firmly by her side.

Finn laughed as he held her sword in his hand, admiring it before walking behind Quinn and the other's.

"You were surprisingly easy to capture, do you know that? I think you've gone soft from living up here in the mountains for so long. Did you really think you'd get away with what you did to us?" He asked, motioning to the others, now joined by Azimio, Karofsky, Rory, and Jesse St. James.

"What do you want from us?"

He grinned, his fangs glinting in the moonlight. "Nothing. Just redemption for what you did to us. How many vampires do you think you've killed with this sword Santana?"

"Enough"

He chuckled. "Yes, and their blood, or should I say ash, is on your hands. All of them. And we're going to add to it tonight"

"What do you mean?"

"You know exactly what I mean. Tonight you'll pay for all of the things you did"

"Fuck you. You made me what I am, you're the one who turned me!"

"Yes, and I thought you were the perfect progeny but I found you to be too loyal to our house even after I told you to do what I wanted. I thought you would forget your stupid honor after seeing how things really had to be, but you had to cling to what our house used to be, not seeing the new era. Instead, you called this man your father instead of the man here that is your real one" He said, pointing at Akinori and then walking over to Sabas who just smiled. "Tell me; why?"

"Because he was more of a father than he ever was" She said, glaring at Sabas. "My father didn't even want me. Akinori took me in as his own, and as far as I'm concerned he's the only father I will ever have"

"Wrong answer"

In a matter of seconds Finn was behind Akinori and he drove her sword right through him. Santana felt pain emanate through her chest as her adoptive father was ashed in front of her.

"That's one, but not the only. All of these people you hold close, in a matter of minutes all of their blood and ash will be on your hands, and you will have to live with that for the rest of your miserable eternity here on this Earth. Now, who next. Jessica?"

The black haired woman grinned evilly. "How about Miss Fabray?"

Finn turned back to Quinn, an equally evil smile plastered across his face. "Nice choice"

Santana felt Rachel's fear roll onto her as he neared his second progeny. Quinn looked directly at Rachel, her eyes locked with her wife as she silently communicated that she loved her. A tear rolled down Rachel's face as in a matter of seconds Quinn was a pile of ash next to Tina.

Rachel let out a sob as she collapsed onto Santana's shoulder, Finn laughing like a maniac. He then turned to Marley. "I never got the chance to meet you but I do understand that you are important to Tina, my third progeny, and you know what that means"

A tear rolled down Marley's cheek, hitting the dusty floor as Tina ashed in front of her. A sob escaped her involuntarily as she watched her wife receive the true death. Santana just felt more pain consume her chest, threatening to kill her if she had to watch another one of her loved ones die for no reason.

"I told you you'd pay for what you did to us, and this is the cream of the crop. Azimio, Karofsky."

In a matter of seconds Marley and Rachel were piles of ash beside her.

"You know what, I think it's time to move things to the next level. Jessica"

Santana watched as Jessica directed the little girl to stand in front of her mother. "Mami" She croaked out quietly, tears staining her cheeks as she shook slightly.

"Hey baby" She whispered back, tears running down her own face. "It's going to be ok, I promise"

The little girl nodded before Finn laughed aloud. "No it's not. Don't lie to her Santana. Nothings ever going to be ok when you're a vampire, you know that better than anyone. One last hug before we get on with the show."

Santana looked at Honey and the little girl could just tell by looking at her mother that it was ok to move. Honey whimpered as she wrapped her arms around Santana's neck, tightening her grip as the Latina whispered in her ear so that no one else could hear.

"It's ok baby girl. Everything will be ok. I promise"

Honey just whimpered even more, tears streaming down her cheeks as she clutched onto her mother as a lifeline. Over her daughter's shoulder she caught Brittany's gaze, noticing nothing but sadness and fear darkening once happy blue orbs of joy and happiness. Tears brimmed and sparkled in Brittany's eyes as she watched her daughter embrace her wife as if the world was ending.

Santana just buried her head in Honey's shoulder, catching Brittany's gaze once more. She knew what the blonde wanted and pulled away a little, placing a kiss on Honey's forehead for Brittany and another one for herself.

"It's ok Honey, I promise"

"I love you mami" Santana's heart cracked painfully at her daughters strained and broken voice.

"I love you too"

"Ok, enough with the mushy crap. Let's get on with it" Finn huffed in frustration and annoyance.

Honey cried aloud as Jessica dragged her away towards Sabas. "Don't you dare touch her!"

"Too late Santana. Sabas, will you do the honors?"

"Gladly"

Santana watched as he reared his head back, his fangs protracted and ready to feed. Both Santana and Brittany cried out as he bit into Honey's neck, sucking for a few minutes before throwing the unconscious little girl to the floor. Then, with her blood coating his chin, he smirked as he walked towards Brittany, grabbing her by the hair, smelling her neck and then dragging her towards one of the buildings.

"No!" Santana cried out as they both disappeared inside. A few moments later she head the distinct scream of her wife and she cried out as her heart painfully lurched in her chest, making her feel sick. "You fucking son of a bitch! I'll fucking kill you!"

Finn just laughed. "I don't think so. I'm going to make you see the error of your ways and make you live with this night for the rest of eternity."

"I'd rather fucking die than be put through that. Fucking kill me now! You killed everyone I love!"

"Yes I did, didn't I?" He said, smiling as he placed her sword under her chin, making her look up at him. "Now, Jessica if you would do the honors. I've had enough of this place. I feel sick already"

"Gladly" Jessica grinned, sauntering up to Santana.

Finn just grinned, kissing her before getting the others to follow him towards the entrance to the compound. Jessica continued walking up to her, her black 'fuck me' heels kicking up dust as she swayed towards her.

"I'm going to make you mine Santana, once and for all. And now that your wife and daughter are out if the way, you'll be mine forever."

"No!"

"Santana, San, wake up!" Brittany yelled, shaking her. Santana shot up in their bed, sweat dripping down her forehead. "San, are you ok? You were calling my name as if I was being hurt or something"

"Britt?" She turned to her. "Oh thank God, you're ok"

Brittany was surprised when Santana surged forward, holding her face with both hands and kissing her like it was the end of the world.

"San, what's wrong? What happened?"

Santana rested her forehead against Brittany's. "I had a bad dream, that's all"

"What happened?" The blonde asked, caressing the side of the Latina's jaw with her hand.

"I don't wanna talk about it"

"Ok"

Once they were settled Brittany nestled her head in the crook of her wife's neck as they fell back to sleep.

Brittany's face invaded her dreams, but she wasn't making any sense. It almost felt as if she was trying to tell her something. She saw her face, but she wasn't making any sounds. Her mind continued to play the same image over and over again until it did make sense, Brittany's voice starting to fill her mind along with the image.

'Santana, this isn't real'

'What isn't real?'

'This thing you think is our life together. Santana, it's not real'

'But it is'

'No, it isn't. It's a lie. San, you have to fight this. You have to break free.'

'Break free from what?'

'Santana, you're in a nightmare. You have to break the cycle and save me too'

'But how do I do that?'

'Break the cycle'

'But Britt-'

Santana woke up with yet another start. Looking around she found herself in the same bed as before as if things had never changed. By now her mind was starting to see what Brittany was trying to tell her in her dream. She wasn't at home, she was in a nightmare. A nightmare she had to break if she was ever to see her family for real again.

She got up and got dressed and it was as if the events replayed themselves, Honey greeting her at the dining table and Brittany smiling with a cup of coffee in her hands. She trained the students again, and that evening, as if like clockwork, the alarms for intruders sounded throughout the compound.

Not wasting any time she headed for Akinori's office and met him. "Santana, what is going on?"

"I don't have much time but we've go to get out of here. They're here for you"

"Who?"

"Finn and his goons"

Akinori nodded, grabbing his katana. "Lead the way"

It seemed as if in this nightmare she had never killed him or any of his followers. That meant he was coming for her family and her loved ones and she couldn't let that happen, not after what she'd seen in the first cycle.

They rushed out the back way and met up with Quinn and Tina. "What do we do boss?" Tina asked.

"Go and get Rachel and Marley"

"But what about you?" Quinn asked.

"I'm going to go and get Britt and Honey. Go quickly, we don't have much time before they get here"

"Who?"

Santana looked the blonde in the eyes. "Finn and his followers"

That was all she needed to hear. Quinn then turned to Tina. "Come on, let's go get our wives"

Once Quinn and Tina were on their way Santana and Akinori headed to the Latina's house on the edges of the compound as fast as they could. Santana stopped in the shadows and watched as Karofsky pounded on the door with his large fist.

Brittany opened it and Santana shouted, running towards them. "Britt, get inside!"

Brittany did as she was told and slammed the door in Karofsky's face. The large vampire turned to her and hissed. Brittany watched from the window as Santana ran up to him, driving her sword into his stomach and twisting. The vampire ashed at her feet and Akinori stood guard by the door as she headed inside.

"Britt?"

"I'm over here" Santana turned to see Brittany hugging herself. She rushed over to her and pulled her into her arms. "I was so scared" She sighed, kissing the top of the blonde's head as Brittany nestled into her arms.

"Santana's what's going on?"

"There's an attack on the compound. Didn't you hear the alarm?"

"No"

"Damn they must have disabled it so that you wouldn't hear it so they could get to you"

"San, what's happening?"

"Finn's here"

"What?"

"He's here with his followers. Britt, I need you and Akinori to protect Honey whilst I get rid of them once and for all."

"But Santana, you can't take them all. Please, after everything we've been through I can't lose you"

Santana sighed, holding her wife close. "I know, but I need to do this. Just trust me" She said, looking down at the blonde and into her eyes.

Brittany nodded. "Ok" She lent up and cupped Santana's face with both hands, pulling the Latina in for a loving kiss. "Promise you'll come back"

"I promise" She replied, connecting their lips together once more.

"Mami, momma?"

Both parents turned to see a sleepy Honey, obviously woken up from her nap by the commotion. "Hey baby" Brittany smiled, kneeling down and sniffling as she wiped away a stray tear.

"Mommy what's going on?" She asked, rubbing her eyes sleepily and clutching her favorite duck toy as she shuffled towards her blonde mother.

"Bad people are here and mami needs to go and make them go away. We need you to go into the hidey hole, can you do that?" She asked, her hands resting on her daughter's arms.

"Mami?" She looked up at her Latina mother.

"Hey" She knelt down next to her wife. "Baby girl, I need you to be strong for momma and me, ok? You need to do just what we told you." It was if her mind was implanted with memories that were created on purpose, helping her decide what to do. Memories of an alternate life that she would have lived if she hadn't have killed Finn and his followers all those years ago.

Honey nodded. "Ok"

The little girl then surged forward, wrapping her arms around her mothers' necks. Santana and Brittany both placed arms around her and shared an intimate family hug before Santana realized that she had to get rid of the threat.

"Ok, I love you two but I need to go, ok?"

They nodded and with a kiss to Honey's head she said. "I love you baby girl" She then turned to Brittany. "And I love you"

"I love you too baby" The blonde sniffled back, kissing the Latina before letting her go.

Santana then rushed out and with Akinori stood by the door she headed for the middle of the compound. Finn and his crew were already waiting for her.

"Ah Santana, how nice of you to finally-"

"Cut the shit. I'm here to end this"

"Oh yes?"

Jesse St. James ran towards her to catch her off guard but she saw it coming and let him run into her sword, instantly ashing as she continued walking.

Finn watched on as Azimio ran towards her, arms outstretched to wrestle her. She expertly ducked and let her momentum take her through where she ran her sword across his chest, the large dark skinned vampire crying out before burning.

She continued on her path and fought both Joe and Rory both at the same time, ashing Rory first before cutting off Joe's head, killing the vampire instantly.

She then moved towards Jessica and Finn stepped in, Sabas doing so too. Jessica smirked but wasn't expecting Santana to easily fight off the other two vampires. Her rage and her determination burned in her eyes and in a split second she had ashed the evil doctor at her feet.

She then turned back to Finn and Sabas. "It's time for this to end"

She felt the power of her clan and her home course through her body and she used it to her advantage. Finn and Sabas were two of the most powerful vampires in the world and they both held something over her that she would never be able to rid herself of. One was her father, and one was her maker. But what they didn't anticipate was her raw power and loyalty to her family and her house.

In this moment a fire burned in her eyes, telling her to protect her family and her clan. Sabas ran for her first, his sword outstretched, and she couldn't dodge him in time before it was lodged right through her abdomen, right where her old stake wound had been. She growled out loud as he pulled his sword back out and stepped back. He made to hit her again but she dodged, counter attacking him and letting her sword cut off his arm. His sword clattered to the floor along with his arm and he looked up at her in fear as his blood coated the dusty floor.

"You were never, and never will be my father" She spat, letting her sword do the work and seconds later his head was missing and he was nothing but a pile of ash on the floor at her feet.

She then turned back to her maker and smiled. "You're next" She panted as she clutched her wound and stumbled towards him.

Finn seemed to be frozen on the spot and Santana used Sabas' sword to cut off his legs on purpose to make him suffer, the blade not pure silver like her own. The other vampire howled as he fell to the floor, his blood mixing with the dust.

She let the tip rest at his throat, the blade bobbing up and then down again as he gulped. "You are a sorry excuse for a vampire and a maker. This is for my family"

She then drove her sword through his skull, her memories flooding back into her mind.

A white light engulfed her and drilled at her mind before she realized she was floating in some kind of stasis. That's when she realized that she needed to save her wife from her own nightmare.

Meanwhile in town, Quinn was trying to get her head around just what was happening.

"Ok, so let me get this straight; you're Mercedes and Sam's maker, and you're here right now. But why?"

The brunette smirked, her fangs in view. "I'm here because I have a contact close to the council and I was told that they had a team out here working on a significant problem that could wipe out our race. I found out that it was Santana's team and that Mercedes and Sam were most probably with her and I decided to lend a hand. I'm a powerful vampire and I had nothing better to do so here I am"

Quinn took in the way she said everything, a certain power behind her voice that only a vampire as old as her could possess. "Ok, well, right now we need all the help we can get"

Moon smiled. "Then I guess I turned up at just the right time then, huh?" She said, motioning to a burning building.

Quinn smiled back. "Yeah, I guess so"

"Oh, just before we begin..."

"Yes?"

"Where is Santana?"

"Santana's away on team business with her wife Brittany. That's why I'm temporary team leader. Safiya and Holly are watching over them as we speak."

"Ah, the queen and her progeny"

"Yes, how did you know?"

Moon smirked knowingly. "I am a very old vampire, Miss Fabray, and I happen to respect my elders, especially my queen and her progeny. I happen to know Holly from a few hundred years back"

Rachel looked on at the older vampire, amazed at how she could make a 'few hundred years' sound like a few months apart.

"Well, is there anything you want to know?" Quinn asked.

"Who are all these beautiful people around us?"

"This is my girlfriend Rachel"

Moon smiled in her direction. "Nice to meet you Rachel"

"Likewise" The smaller brunette smiled back.

"This is Akari and Satomi. They're part of our stronghold team here in the town. They're also Kobejitsu vampires like me and Blaine here"

"I have heard many great things about the Kobejitsu and their warriors, but I have never gotten to meet any face to face. It is an honor" She grinned, bowing her head a little at them.

"The pleasure is all ours" Akari replied, bowing in respect.

"And of course you know Mercedes. This is Blaine, he's a Kobejitsu vampire like us and is part of the team"

"Nice to meet you" The boy smiled, reaching out his hand. Moon shook back.

"Now that we're all acquainted, let's get to work. We've got a lot of ground to cover" Everybody nodded. "Moon, do you need a weapon?"

"Already covered, Miss Fabray." She reached behind herself and pulled out two identical 45 caliber pistols.

Blaine whistled. "That is some serious fire power"

Moon smiled. "I know. Now, lead the way"

Quinn nodded and took up her spot at the front of the pack. They moved deep into the belly of the town, passing a few scared citizens that they told to leave as soon as possible. In the south-east of the town they reached an area that was on fire badly. Thick smoke clung to them as they moved in deeper, the smog deadly to humans.

When they reached what seemed to be a good sized area Quinn turned to the team. "Keep your eyes open. This place is the perfect spot for an ambush"

"Spoke too soon Quinn!" Blaine called, his katana out in front of him defensively.

"Damn it" Quinn hissed, her blades at the ready.

A large wolf barreled into the small area and tried to distract them whilst one in his human form ran around a corner with a baby in his arms.

"Damn it!" She cursed again. She then turned to Akari. "You're in charge. I'm going after him!"

"But what about him?" She shouted back, motioning to the werewolf that was engaged with the entirety of their small team.

"You can hold him off. I won't take long." She turned but stopped when she heard her girlfriend's voice.

"Quinn"

"Yeah?"

"Be careful"

Quinn nodded and set off in a run where she saw the guy disappear. She caught a glimpse of him in the distance and saw him dash into a smaller alleyway. Determination took over her face as she ran in the alley's direction, the thick black smoke from the fires not even hindering her. By now she'd been in so many similar situations that she'd learnt how to adapt, now not even acknowledging it, the only thing on her mind getting the baby back.

She got closer and closer to him and a few minutes later she saw him dash into a badly burning building, the baby's shrill cries louder than any of the noise around them. She hesitated for all of two seconds before she headed in herself, her eyes watering as she reverted to using her sensitive hearing to follow the loud cries.

She followed them up many stairs and eventually came to a room where the man was standing with a knife hovering above the baby's forehead. Knowing she had to handle this carefully, she lowered her blade.

"I'm here for the baby. Let her go and I won't hurt you"

"Fuck you!"

He raised his blade above her head and was stopped dead in his tracks, literally. Quinn's blade was lodged in his head, the blonde getting a perfect bullseye in the center of his forehead.

The baby cried as she hit the floor, her now dead captor falling into the flames behind. Quinn rushed forward and immediately picked up the little girl, wrapping the blanket around her securely. She was surprised that she hadn't passed out already from the smoke inhalation, but smelling her a little more carefully, she realized why the werewolf had her in the first place. She wasn't just any baby, she was a pureblood vampire baby.

A rafter broke her out of her stare and she managed to grab her dagger before she rushed down outside, coughing as she made it out just in time. Her radio crackled to life in her ear as she held the baby tightly in her arms.

"Quinn, you ok?"

The blonde breathed a sigh of relief when she heard her girlfriend's voice. "Yeah, I'm fine" She panted, the smoke still thick in her lungs.

"You don't sound ok. What's wrong?"

"I'll explain when I get back. Meet me at the market"

"But how do we get there?"

"Akari should know the way. She's been mapping the town ever since she arrived."

"Ok, we'll meet you there"

When Rachel signed off, Quinn unsheathed one of her blades and gripped the baby in her other arm tightly as she set off towards the market.

She knew she was getting closer when she started recognizing buildings, but as she was about to turn a corner she spotted two guys both holding what looked like pirate swords, as cliché as it sounded. She looked down at the baby and then back up at the two men. Knowing that there wasn't any other option, she steeled herself and prepared to take them.

They saw her coming as soon as she turned the corner. What they didn't expect though was that she was determined, and when you came across a determined Quinn you didn't want to mess with her. She was a woman on a mission.

She moved forward quickly and they matched her pace, one already lunging for her. She dodged to the left as he jabbed out his blade right in front of her, and then she snapped back up, countering the other's attack. The first one tried to hit her from behind whilst she was occupied with the second, but she anticipated it and turned just in time, catching his blade and managing to push him back.

The second yelled as the first was pushed back momentarily and their blades met above their heads. The werewolf growled as Quinn used all of her vampiric strength to push him back, managing to overpower him and push his blade to the ground, making him stumble and fall to the floor.

She spun around with a warrior's grace and ducked a blade that was moving towards her neck had she been standing up. She let her own blade tear at his knee, the werewolf crying out loud as he dropped his blade to the floor, gripping at the wound. Too bad it was silver or else it would have healed right away.

Quinn knew the blade was bigger than her own and would have made a big difference, but her own blade was hers and was given to her for a reason, and she was damned if she was going to go against something she'd been taught to appreciate and hold with honor over two hundred years ago.

She turned back to the other guy just in time to dodge an attack that was aimed for her shoulder, the one that was holding the blade and therefore unprotected as she couldn't shun away from an attack. Luckily for her, her training came in handy and she managed to pull back just in time.

She heard a grunt from behind her and she turned to her left just in time to dodge an attack that was aimed for her neck, hitting her across the arm instead. The silver of the blade burned at her skin as she spun her own weapon in her hand, turning her back to the wounded attacker and surprising him. He didn't see the attack coming and was soon laying on the floor clutching at his stomach which now had a long cut that stretched from one side to the other. He cried out loud as blood poured through his hands like water, mixing with the dusty floor of the alley.

The vampire turned back to her other attacker, the wolf eyeing the baby in her arms hungrily. Knowing what he wanted, her blood seemed to boil just beneath her skin, making her see nothing but red. Her nostrils flared as she let her blade do the work, the werewolf laying on the floor clutching his neck as blood spurted out and started mixing with his friends.

Knowing that they wouldn't be saved, Quinn wiped her bloody brow and stepped over the second one, continuing on her path to the market. She knew that they would never be found in time and that they would bleed out in a matter of minutes, especially when it came to being injured with a silver blade.

She made it to the market five minutes later, the team she'd left already there with everyone accounted for. Rachel was the first to spot her, rushing up to her side.

"Quinn, what happened?" She asked, surveying the blood that plastered her girlfriend's neck and face.

"Two werewolves attacked me. Luckily they stayed in human form. I managed to take them out before they took me out first."

"What about the baby?" Akari asked, looking at the pink bundle still nestled in the crook of Quinn's left arm.

"I think she's fine. The wolf took her into a burning building and I managed to kill him before he killed her and me"

"But wouldn't she have died from smoke inhalation?" Mercedes asked.

The blonde shook her head. "Take a closer smell of her"

The other vampires surrounded Quinn and took in a deep breath. "She smells different" Kurt said, confusion etched across his brow.

"That's because she is. She's a pureblood" Moon said.

"How do you know?" Mercedes asked, looking at her maker.

The regal woman looked at her progeny and sent her rang ridden smile. "My child, I just know. You're forgetting how old I am again"

"Sorry" The younger vampire said weakly, her cheeks blushing.

Moon just grinned, placing a comforting hand on Mercedes' cheek. "Not to worry my child. Now Quinn, hand her here so that Rachel can look you over and we can move on"

Quinn did as she was told and stepped forward, carefully handing Moon the precious bundle. She gasped when the weight was lifted.

"Quinn, what's wrong?"

"The wolves had silver blades. One managed to get me before I killed him."

"Here, let me have a look. Sit down on this table."

Rachel led the blonde over to one of the stalls and moved away some of the boxes of fruit, urging her girlfriend to sit on it. The older vampire couldn't deny her so she did what she was told. Rachel's gentle hands gently trailed across her skin, lifting up her left t-shirt sleeve to reveal an ugly bleeding wound that was dripping down the length of her arm, marring her perfect ivory skin.

Quinn gasped as the brunette pulled the t-shirt away, the material sticking to the wound slightly. Rachel winced a little herself but managed to keep it hidden from her girlfriend, knowing she had to be strong. Not caring about the blood, she lent forward, kissing around the wound.

Quinn sighed in relief as she felt her girlfriend's lips come into contact with her skin, and she was glad that they were a good distance away from the main group. However, she knew that she was supposed to be leading and she had to place her free hand on Rachel's shoulder.

"Rach"

Rachel pulled away, knowing what her girlfriend wanted. She smiled at the blonde. "That feel better?"

Quinn rolled her arm a little and smiled. "Yes" She watched as Rachel licked away the blood from her lips, her fangs just peaking out from under her lips.

"Hmm" She hummed, licking her lips once more to make sure that she'd gotten rid of any traces of what she'd just done and then she reached into a pocket on her leg. "Here, this should keep the bleeding at a minimum whilst we do what we have to"

Quinn let her girlfriend's skilled hands stick the gauze pad to her arm. When she was patched up she hopped down, pecking Rachel on the lips. "Thanks"

Rachel just smiled, pulling her in for another quick kiss. "No problem. Let's go" They walked towards the group to find Moon still holding the little girl in her arms.

"What are we gonna do about the baby?" Blaine asked.

"Moon, you good to protect her?"

"Yes."

"Good. Let's move"

"Where are we going?" Satomi asked.

"Let's make our way to the other side of town and see what the damage is. We need to clear as many people and werewolves out as possible. We'll stay in a big group, is everyone ok with that?" She got various nods. "Ok then, let's go"

Brittany was trapped in a dream of her own and she needed saving. It clouded her mind and she found herself in a chamber much like Safiya's, although it was slightly different.

The walls were a sandy colour and the platform she was on was elevated slightly, steps leading down to a slight edge before two rectangular pools of water lined each side of a narrow brick walkway. At the end of the walkway was a single door that was made entirely of stone and carved from top to bottom with nothing but glyphs of the twelve vampire houses.

The water was still as the reflections of the flames from the torches on either wall flickered on the surface of the seemingly black liquid. Glyphs lined the walls throughout the entire room, and in the center of the small space between Brittany and the walkway the Kobejitsu glyph was carved into the stone of the floor, the biggest glyph in the room.

Brittany sat upon a throne of amazingly carved stone, it's expert craftsmanship still as vibrant and eye catching as the day it was made over a thousand years ago. The Kobejitsu glyph sat on the back, covered as Brittany sat in it.

The blonde in question was dressed in ancient clothing, much like an Egyptian queen, her skin showing in all the right places to give an air of seductiveness but also respect for herself and her wife. Glorious beads adorned her navy dress, but it lost it's effect as she remained in the white rubber stasis that had preserved her and her wife for many years. Her beautiful engagement ring that was Santana's mother's and her wedding ring sat beautifully on her hand as she sat regally in her throne, the precious jewellery forever preserved in time.

By her side on an identical throne sat Santana, her queen and warrior. She sat handsomely in her throne, dressed in an outfit that was very similar to the one she wore on their wedding day. Her leather jacket still looked as imposing in it's rubber stasis as the day they had married. The leather of her outfit was tight in all the right places and hugged her body, the Asian design making her look extremely imposing even when frozen. Her wedding ring sat frozen in time as her hand rested protectively over her sword, the most powerful weapon in the history of the Earth.

Suddenly the peace that had remained for centuries was instantly broken as footsteps sounded behind the massive stone door at the other end of the room, the only way in and the only way out. Even in stasis their instincts were on high alert as the foot steps got closer and closer until they stopped right behind the door.

A few minutes later the huge stone door moved to the side, a gush of cool air entering the quiet stillness of the peaceful chamber. Moments later two familiar faces entered the room, smirking as they made their way across the walkway, their reflections being cast in the water as they walked. Brittany watched from her stasis as they stopped at the end of the walkway, both kneeling down on the large glyph of their house and bowing their heads in respect.

The older one of the two spoke first, looking at Santana as he held a hand over his heart. "Oh great queen. You are the first of our kind, your queen your first progeny and the first turned blood. You are the greatest warrior in our worlds history and you made our house the authority of our race. We stand here today in your name to wake you from your eternal slumber in hopes that you can serve us as we wish."

In Brittany's mind she frowned, knowing that this wasn't supposed to happen. Her and Santana were supposed to go into a peaceful slumber and spend an eternity together by each other's sides. Instead, something else was happening and she had a sick feeling in her gut that something bad was about to happen.

The vampire started speaking again. Brittany internally growled, knowing that Santana should have killed him when she had the chance, instead just marring his face with her sword, his face now marked with a large scar down the right side.

Joe grinned. "Today we offer you a sacrifice in exchange for your awakening where you will accompany us in a quest to rule over werewolves and humans alike. Jessica!"

A few moments later Brittany's attentions were directed towards the exit where a commotion could be heard. Her heart clenched painfully in her chest even in her stasis when the first thing she saw was Honey being kicked down to the floor and into the room from the steps that led down to the door, the peace in her parents chamber now long forgotten.

"Move!" Jessica hissed, kicking the girl forward with a pointy black heel.

Honey crawled along the walkway until she reached Joe and Rory, and Rory took hold of her, the girl struggling in his grip. Joe turned to her and slapped her across the face, drawing blood. He licked off his hand before speaking.

"Be silent!"

Honey did as she was told, but only out of fear for what he could truly do to her if provoked. He then turned back to Jessica. They lent in and shared an ugly chaste kiss before he looked back at Santana and smirked.

"Your offering, my queen. May the blood of your daughter wake you from your sleep so that you can lead us in the coming dark times." He then turned to Jessica. "Have fun"

Brittany watched on helplessly as Jessica strutted up to her wife, smirking in her direction before looking back at the queen before her, leaning in and placing a kiss to the Latina's frozen mouth. She placed various kisses over her wife's face before she moved away to stand behind Joe once more, winking at Brittany along the way. She then picked up the box she had been carrying and held it out to him. He smiled evilly as he reached forward, opening it up and pulling out a dagger that looked like it was made of pure silver.

Brittany's heart skipped a beat, and not in a good way. Joe grinned, his fangs tainting his smirk as he inched closer to their daughter. Honey whimpered as he brought the blade to her throat, the silver burning her skin and drawing blood.

A few minutes and the wound would be fatal, the girl bleeding out. When Honey passed out, he let her lifeless body fall to the floor with a sickening thump. He made a show of licking off his fingers, now coated with her daughters blood. She wanted to move so much to help her daughter, but she found that the stasis kept her from doing anything.

Joe laughed in her direction and winked before looking at Santana. He stepped closer to her and let the blade run across the hand that she had resting across her sword. Soon enough the vampires stasis wore off and she was slowly waking up, her body moving for the first time in centuries.

When she looked down upon the man that had awoken her, he was grinning. She knew Joe, and she knew he was evil, even before she went into her stasis. Brittany watched as she looked down upon the other vampires in the room, seeing Rory standing by a lifeless body.

She stood up and walked towards the girl, pushing away the long brunette hair from her face as she knelt down next to her. When she recognized the face she immediately drew her sword, pointing it at Joe's neck. The other vampire just laughed.

"You don't want to kill me."

"Why shouldn't I?" Santana hissed, baring her fangs. Joe just chuckled, Rory and Jessica joining in. "What are you laughing at?"

"We need you"

"For what?"

"The apocalypse" Jessica said, Santana turning to face her. She hissed, grabbing her by the throat.

"What are you doing here? I thought I banished you"

"Oh, you did my queen, but Joe here rescued me. After you killed our maker Finn and went into stasis he freed me. Now you're going to come with us"

"For what reasons?" She asked, letting go of the younger vampire.

"To lead us in taking back what is rightfully ours"

Brittany watched as they lunged for her, catching her off guard and putting her wrists in silver handcuffs, the metal burning at her skin. They then wrapped silver around her feet for good measure and the blonde watched from stasis as Joe wrapped a heavy metal chain around Santana's neck.

He grabbed one arm whilst Jessica grabbed the other. Jessica then looked over and Brittany and winked before kissing the side of Santana's head. Brittany internally screamed as Santana was dragged away struggling.

"BRITTANY!" The vampire yelled as she dragged up the walkway.

Rory grinned and turned to the woman who was once his friend, picking up Santana's sword. "Don't worry. We won't hurt her...much"

The last thing she saw was Santana being dragged out of the door and up the stairs, her scream echoing loudly in the chamber that was once theirs. A single tear managed to fall even her stasis and she cried for her wife and her daughter who was bleeding out at her feet.

Her heart broke at the thought of having to remain in a stasis without her wife and the pain seemed to be amplified by the sight of their daughter who they had created from nothing but love was dying right in front of her. If she could have roared she would have, but she was frozen forever in time, now forced to spend an eternity without Santana by her side.

She felt a voice in her head as she fell into a deep dream, still in her stasis.

'Brittany, Britt, you have to wake up!'

'Santana? What do you mean?'

'Britt, this is a dream.'

'What do you mean? This is real, we're in stasis together'

'No, you're in a nightmare. You helped me wake up, and now it's time for me to help you. Britt, you have to break the cycle so that we can wake up and finish what we came to do'

'But San-'

'No, you need to wake up! You need to end this!'

Brittany was woken from her dream when she heard the door at the end of the chamber open. She searched the room and her eyes found Santana on a throne right next to her. Knowing what was going to happen, she knew that she had to be strong and break the loop that she was in, but how could she when she was in stasis?

Joe came into the room and the events replayed just like before but this time she knew she needed to do something. Jessica repeated her actions as she kissed all over her wife's face and winked in her direction, making her blood boil even in her stasis.

Joe slit Honey's throat and she fell to the stone floor with that same sickening thump as before. He let the bloodied blade run across Santana's hand and slowly she woke up. Knowing this was her only chance, the blonde pushed at every single one of her limits, forcing the stasis to wear off. Every ounce of strength she had in her entire body was put into using her mind to push away the thing that was keeping her frozen.

Joe's eyes widened when he saw Brittany's stasis start to wear off and he immediately thought that when Santana woke up so would her wife, no matter how hard they tried to keep the annoying blonde in her own stasis. What he didn't know was that he was about to endure the wrath of two very pissed off vampire queens.

This time Santana looked in her wife's direction and realized that they had both been woken up. Brittany instantly ran to Honey's side, pushing Rory away. She cradled her daughters head in her lap as she tried to get a reaction out of her.

Before Santana could ask what was he meaning of their abrupt awakening she caught a glimpse of Brittany and rushed to the blonde's side. "What is the meaning of this?" She asked, looking up at Joe.

"M-my queen, w-we needed to wake you up"

"For what? So you could taunt us with our dying daughter?!"

"N-no of course not!"

Brittany had had enough. She carefully placed Honey's head in Santana's lap and unsheathed her wife's sword from her waist, holding it to Rory's throat in a matter of seconds. Before he could stutter an apology she had already drawn the sharp blade across his neck and beheading him, the vampire ashing immediately. Joe was next and Santana watched from her place on the floor as Brittany brought the blade down through the middle of his head, the entire way down through his body.

He ashed as soon as the blade came out between his legs and a yelp alerted the blonde to Jessica, who was starting to run. Her heels clicked along the stone floor as she rushed towards the door. She glanced back to find Brittany gone and when she turned to face the door, she came face to face with the queen.

She gulped as she came to a stop. "Not fast enough, Jessica" She growled, her fangs a clear warning that she wasn't playing and that the younger vampire wouldn't be leaving the room.

She gripped her wife's sword tightly in her hands as she lunged forward, the silver blade lodged firmly into her stomach. Jessica's hands came down to rest on the intrusive object and she looked up at Brittany who just smirked. With a light twist of the silver weapon, Jessica cried out in agony as she ashed at Brittany's feet.

Brittany then rushed back to Santana and found Honey coughing up blood in her wife's lap. Santana let Brittany take the lead and transferred Honey's head back into her lap. The Latina held Honey's hand whilst Brittany bit into her wrist and offered it to her daughter. Honey's head moved towards her mother's arm and a few seconds later Brittany gasped a little at the feeling of her mouth latching onto her bloody wrist.

Santana saw a motherly smile settle across Brittany's face as the blonde stroked Honey's hair with her free hand. Brittany looked up and saw her wife staring at her intently. She couldn't help but smile and lent over their healing daughter, letting their lips connect in their first kiss for centuries.

A white light engulfed Brittany as she woke up and it wasn't long before the stasis that was holding her up threw her down to the ground, the nightmare failing and releasing her. She gasped as she hit the hard stone floor and when she looked around she realized she was in an extremely small square room. Looking around the darkened room, a single torch the only light on the wall to her right, her only thought was that she needed to get to Santana, and judging by her pendant she was extremely close.

Santana was actually closer than she thought. She was thrown from her temporary stasis and fell the floor with a grunt. She gasped as pain erupted from her side and when she pulled her hand away, blood coated it. She pulled up her shirt and found that she was bleeding from where she had taken her father's blade right before she had killed him. Guessing that the nightmare was very real, including when it came to injuries, she knew she had to get to Brittany. Sitting up she found herself in a room similar to Brittany's.

"Britt?!" She called out the best she could, trying to breath through the pain that was making itself more and more known to her now that she was aware of herself.

Brittany perked up, her hearing leading her to the wall on the left. "Santana?!" She called back, not quite believing what she heard, wondering if it was just another trick made especially to 'test' her.

When Santana heard Brittany's voice call back her heart skipped a beat. She crawled towards the wall on the right and placed her ear up against the ancient brick work.

"Britt?!"

"Santana!" Brittany called back eagerly. A tear ran down her face knowing her wife was just on the other side of the wall.

"Britt! Are you ok?"

Brittany let out a sob of joy. "Yes, I'm ok"

The Latina sighed in relief and pulled away from the wall. She knew that the door on the far side of the room would lead her away from her wife and she didn't want to be apart from her any longer. She'd just about had enough of this place and it's 'tests'. She looked up at the brick work and knocked on it with her fist.

"Hold on Britt. Move away from the wall"

Brittany did as she was told and Santana crawled back over to her sword, grabbed it and then stood up shakily. Even though she was in pain, she clutched her wound with her right hand whilst her stronger hand wielded her sword. She used the blade as a pry and slipped it in between the cracks of the bricks. After a few pushes she felt the stone give way a little so she pulled her blade out, sheathing it, and then moved to the adjacent wall. Knowing Brittany was away from the weakened wall, she ran towards it, hitting it with her shoulder.

The loose bricks gave way under her strength and she stumbled through into the room that Brittany was in. The blonde immediately moved towards her and Santana knelt up the best she could. The blonde's hands instantly cupped her face the first chance she had and their lips met in a desperate kiss. Despite her injury, Santana wrapped her arms around Brittany's waist and pulled the blonde flush to her body. The younger vampire continued to cup her face, her thumbs rubbing her cheeks soothingly as they pronounced their love for each other the best way they knew how.

Their foreheads rested together when the need for air became too much and tears streamed down both of their faces as they kept themselves as close to each other as possible.

"You're ok" Brittany breathed, her thumbs wiping away Santana's tears.

"I was so worried. Britt, I heard you-"

"I know, I saw"

"What?"

"I got glimpses of your nightmare before you broke it. Then I was thrown into my own"

"I saw some of yours too. I was so scared Britt"

"I know. I was too"

"I love you so much. Don't get separated away from me again. I need to be close to you"

"I was scared too. I watched you get taken away whilst I was stuck"

"Shush, I know."

"I need to be close to you too."

Santana smiled despite her tears, leaning forward and connecting their lips once more. Even more tears flowed down their cheeks as they kissed again, but they were broken out of their blissfully tearful reunion when the ceiling shook above them. Santana gasped when they stood up.

"Santana? What's wrong?" Brittany asked, pulling her up to her feet properly.

"I'll explain later. Let's get out of here first"

Brittany nodded and wrapped her wife's arm around her shoulder, helping her towards the door opposite the one she had entered through.

A hug crash sounded as the blonde slammed the door shut and a few seconds later along with a sprinkling of dust from the ceiling everything went quiet. She helped Santana down onto the floor, resting her up against the wall whilst she searched the corridor for any signs of danger. Seeing none, she immediately knelt down next to her wife, checking her over.

No words were shared as she pulled Santana's bloodied hand away from her abdomen. Her shirt was soaked with blood and as Brittany pulled it away, the material had stuck to the wound, getting in the way. Santana growled out loud, her fangs protracting at the pain.

"Sorry" The blonde apologized, immediately letting go.

"I-It's ok. Just be-be careful" Santana panted, holding Brittany's wrist.

"Ok" She said, leaning forward and kissing the Latina's forehead then taking a deep breath and preparing herself for what she had to do.

She knew this was a bad place on her body for her to get hurt, and she knew it was painful for her wife. She decided the best thing right now was to try and distract her from it by talking. "How did you get it?"

"In my dream, the second cycle, the one where I broke the loop. Sabas drove his sword into my side before I killed him. I guess injuries carry over to the real world. When I woke up from the stasis I found it when I hit the floor."

Brittany nodded as she gently gripped the edges of Santana's t-shirt. "I need to pull your t-shirt away but it's gonna hurt, ok?"

Santana nodded, her head resting up against the wall as she clenched her eyes shut. "Ok, do what you have to"

Brittany nodded and pulled at the shirt. Santana yelled out loud as the material was pulled away from the wound which had been healing over the top. Brittany reached a hand up to Santana's cheek, feeling the Latina breathing heavily.

"It's ok baby" She soothed, placing a comforting kiss on the corner of her mouth. "The shirt is out of the wound. You need to feed though. Here," She said, looking up at Santana and offering her wrist.

The older vampire knew what Brittany was offering and she immediately bit down on the blonde's wrist, Brittany gasping a little at the sudden intrusion but soon welcoming it, by now used to her wife feeding from her.

Santana suckled on her wrist for a few minutes before pulling away, Brittany wiping away the stray blood around her mouth with her thumb and letting her maker suck it off. Once her wrist had healed she reached into a pocket on her cargo pants and pulled out a clean gauze pad.

"Your wound won't heal but hopefully with my blood it shouldn't be too bad when we start moving. The pad should suffice until we get back to HQ. Here, let me put it on"

Santana let Brittany's gentle hands place the gauze pad on and soon her wife's blood started flowing through her veins, beginning to heal her.

"I think it's time to move" She said, her strength growing more and more with each passing moment.

"Me too. Can you stand?"

"Yeah."

Santana stood up and offered her hand to her wife, helping her up. "Come on," She started, unsheathing her sword "We've still got lots of ground to cover."
