A/N: First off, I am by no means a doctor. So, if some of the medical things I throw in here seem impossible or don't sound correct, blame that on my poor Google research. I tried the best I could! Plus, it's a fan fic anyway, right? Let the imagination run wild. Please forgive me if there are any errors. Okay, love you all. HAPPY READING.
Bully in Love
Chapter 26
The sound of an ambulance blared in her ears. Pain… darkness.
Commotion; the voices of strangers came from all directions… bright lights passed overhead. More pain... darkness.
The sound of her mother's frantic voice; someone saying, "Stay with us."
Darkness.
Hearing the doorbell chime, Maura rushed downstairs with a bright smile and opened the front door. Jane stood on the other side with a grin on her face. "You ready, babe?"
"Yes," the blonde smiled happily.
Jane eyed Maura's outfit up and down as the blonde closed the front door behind her. She was wearing a low-cut blouse, dark-blue skinny jeans, and fashionable boots. "You look hot."
Maura turned to her and smiled. "I know. I'm aware these are your favorite pair of jeans on me."
Jane nodded in agreement. "They are," the brunette purred, wrapping her arms around Maura's waist. She dipped her hands into the blonde's back pockets and pulled Maura closer to the front of her body.
The blonde giggled at the action and looked into Jane's eyes. "Uh-oh. I know that look."
Jane grinned and leaned in closer. "So, maybe we should just go back inside and head up to your room," Jane proposed.
"That does sound rather appealing..." Maura began. Jane nuzzled her nose against Maura's neck, temporarily distracting her. "…but I was promised a surprise."
"Oh, that's right," Jane said, pretending to remember. She leaned back and looked into Maura's eyes. "I did promise, didn't I?"
"I believe so." She wrapped her arms around Jane's neck and looked up at the brunette. Jane was giving her that smile that made her dimples pop and absolutely melted Maura's heart. That was her smile; the smile Jane only had for her.
"I love you, Maur."
"I love you too, Jane," Maura replied. Only these words were not being spoken to Jane. They were only empty words that escaped Maura's lips as she awoke from sleep. The blonde blinked her eyes open, remembering where she was; the hospital lobby. Jane. It had been a dream. Her girlfriend had never made it to her house to pick her up. She never found out what Jane had planned for them. Jane never showed up because she was shot. The thought instantly made Maura's heart sink into despair once more. Jane was shot. Among her troubling thoughts, Maura smelled her mother's perfume and realized she was using Constance's shoulder as a pillow. The blonde had exhausted herself with crying and had fallen asleep. Maura slowly raised her head.
"Darling, are you, alright?" Constance softly asked.
"Any news? Has the doctor come back?" Maura tiredly asked.
"No, dear. They are still in surgery."
Maura looked at the clock hanging on the wall. 1:23am. Jane had been in surgery for over two hours now.
The blonde looked across the nearly barren hospital lobby and saw Frank Sr. pacing anxiously while Angela sat with Tommy and Frankie. The two boys were sitting on either side of her, resting their heads on her shoulders. Tommy seemed to be asleep but Frankie was still awake, his eyes red rimmed from crying. To the left a few chairs down, Frost and Anna sat silently, holding hands. Maura could see the old streaks from tears running down the young man's cheeks.
A gunshot to the abdomen; that was all they knew. The blonde could only imagine what injuries Jane had sustained and all the different scenarios that were running through her mind were making her mad with worry. She wanted to see Jane. She desperately wanted to see her.
They all looked up when the double doors opened a doctor walked into the lobby. He looked fairly young. A third or fourth year resident, Maura presumed. "Rizzoli?"
"Yes," Angela frantically responded. Everyone stood to their feet and headed over to the doctor. "How's my baby? How's Jane?"
The doctor put on a calm and professional expression before responding. "We're still operating but Jane's vitals are stable and she's doing very well right now."
Everyone seemed to take a collective sigh of relief. "Thank, God." Angela said.
"She isn't quite out of the woods yet. One of our best surgeons is currently repairing a small part of her liver."
"Oh, God," Angela gasped, covering her mouth. Frank Sr. placed a comforting arm around his wife's shoulders.
Maura's heart sank. She knew damage to the liver was a serious injury and if not operated on properly... she did not even want to think about it. "Did the bullet pass through or was it still lodged inside?" She finally asked.
"The bullet was still inside of her body and we've removed it, along with fragments," the doctor replied. "She also has a minor concussion," he continued. "We're assuming that was from her impact against the ground after the gunshot."
Frankie and Tommy silently stood there near their parents. Worry and exhaustion showed on their young faces. A tear trickled down Frankie's cheek and Tommy was lightly biting his bottom lip, attempting to keep the tears threatening to fall from his eyes at bay. "Will she be okay?" He asked, putting on his best brave face.
The young doctor appraised Tommy sympathetically before addressing everyone. "We're doing everything we can. She's a strong girl."
"How much longer will she be in there?" Frank Sr. asked, impatiently.
"That's hard to say at the moment, but I can assure you that I will come back here every chance I can and give you all an update."
"Thanks," Frank Sr. replied.
With a polite nod of the head, the young doctor disappeared behind the double doors once more. Angela embraced Frank Sr. with a small sob and he held her close. "She's gonna be alright, Ang," he tenderly said.
Tommy and Frankie surrounded their mother as well and they all shared a family hug. Constance put a comforting arm around Maura's shoulders and guided them back to their seats. Maura had to hold onto the hope of Jane pulling through despite her knowledge of the probable outcome. She knew from a medical standpoint, optimism was dangerous. Anything could go wrong in an extensive surgery such as Jane's, especially with organ damage. The risk of infection was high, and she knew the liver held a high amount of blood vessels that when damaged could cause a patient to bleed to death. Then of course there's bile leakage which could spill out into the abdominal cavity and… Stop.
Maura knew she had to stop rambling, even if it was just inside her head. Jane wouldn't want her to. Jane would usually be kissing her by now in order to stop her Google mouth. Maura closed her eyes and leaned back in her seat. Will Jane ever be able to do that to her again? God, she hoped so.
Suddenly, Constance's cell phone buzzed. She pulled it out of her purse and looked down at the display. The older woman grimaced before turning to Maura apologetically.
"It's okay, mother. Take your call."
"No, dear. I can ignore it."
"I insist," Maura said. "I'll be fine. I've seen you ignore your phone calls all night and I know you have important business that you've been neglecting."
"I'd rather neglect business than my own daughter. I'm not making that mistake again."
Maura smiled softly at her mother's words. What touched her the most was that her mother truly meant it. She loved seeing this change in Constance. "Thank you for being here for me," she said, placing a hand over her mother's. "It means a lot, but I won't feel neglected this time when you take a call. I understand."
"Well... only if you're sure..."
Maura nodded. "I am."
Constance nodded. "Alright then. It will only be a few minutes." Constance stood up and walked out of the quiet lobby.
Maura weaved her fingers together in her lap and stared blankly at the floor. As she sat there alone, thoughts of Jane began to flood her mind. All of the good memories they had together hit her in an emotional tidal wave: Maura popping Jane's noise back into place and her driving her home to ice her nose; Jane explaining the X-men movies to her and both of them realizing they enjoyed each other's company; The two of them battling the exploding faucet and getting drenched from head to toe, then laughing at themselves afterwards; Jane finally admitting her feelings at the aquarium and pulling Maura into an unexpected first kiss; When they decided to hideout out on Maura's yacht for the night; the first time they became physically intimate and they both finally said those three words to each other.
There were so many wonderful moments she had shared with Jane and she feared there would be no more to experience. She reached towards her chest and lightly touched the silver heart that hung there. The locket Jane had given her always brought her comfort; always made her feel closer to Jane. She was her world. Jane showed her friendship. Jane showed her how being with someone was the most amazing feeling in the world. Jane said she would never intentionally leave her and now that could be a possibility. What would she do without her?
Tears began to fall and she leaned forward burying her face in her hands. She released a small sob, no longer able to hold it together. Suddenly, she felt someone sit beside her and a gentle hand was on her back. She looked up expecting to see her mother, but it was Angela. The woman had tears of her own shimmering in her eyes and she sadly regarded the blonde. "Maura."
The blonde could no longer hold back and she latched onto the older woman, crying harder. She not only considered this woman a second mother, but she knew Angela was also a part of Jane. A part of Jane she could physically cling to. "I just want her to be okay."
"I know, sweetie. I know." Angela whispered.
They held onto each other and cried softly.
An hour and a half later, they were finally able to visit Jane in recovery. Frost had left to take Anna home about twenty minutes before, but said he would return. Jane's immediate family went into the room first. Angela gave permission for Maura to come along, but the blonde decided to wait. It seemed like a time for only family and she felt she would be intruding. Besides, she wanted her own time with Jane.
After waiting anxiously for over twenty minutes, the Rizzolis emerged from down the hall. Maura and Constance stood to their feet as Angela came up to them.
"Is she…?" Maura asked.
"She's still sleeping. You two can come see her, though."
Constance and Maura followed Angela down a corridor and into a room. Maura could barely breathe at the sight as she took slow steps into the room. There she was. Her Jane… lying in a hospital bed. The first thing Maura noticed was how pale the brunette's skin was. It was such a contrast to the lovely tanned skin Maura knew so well. The blonde drew closer and could hear the small beeps of the machines and monitors that surrounded the brunette's bed. Jane had a breathing tube in her mouth and Maura knew that was a vital instrument in Jane's recovery. But the thing that disturbed Maura most was that Jane was so still. Too still. Jane was normally jittery and could never sit still at all. She was a ball of energy that never ceased to stop, but not now… she was too still. The only time Maura saw Jane this still was when she was sleeping, but this wasn't a peaceful sleep. Jane was being put under by drugs to help ease the pain.
Now standing at Jane's bedside, she looked over the brunette. "Oh, Jane," she whispered. She gently grasped the brunette's limp hand and shivered at how lifeless it seemed. It felt so strange to not have Jane squeezing back. The blonde looked up at the two women in the room. "May I… be alone, please?" She softly asked.
Both of them nodded in understanding.
"Of course, darling."
"We'll be right outside," Angela said.
The two of them quietly left the room. Maura looked at Jane sadly, trying to hold herself together. She took a settling breath before speaking. "I waited for you, you know. I waited for you to come get me… to take me to my surprise." Maura looked down at their hands and lightly bit her bottom lip. "Then I got the call that... that he had done this to you... I didn't want to believe it." Maura shifted her gaze to Jane's face. The brunette's face seemed so frail and tired. "I figured maybe you were running a little late. That you had forgotten something and had to turn back… or you had to stop and get gas…" The blonde shook her head as tears began once more. "…but not this," her voice broke. "I wanted to keep waiting for you; knowing you would show up any moment... but you never came, Jane." Maura took a shaking breath as tears slowly descended down her cheeks. "How could he do this to you?" She quietly demanded, still confused by Joseph Grant's actions. "This wasn't supposed to happen. You shouldn't be punished for loving me." Maura reached up and gently brushed back Jane's hair from her face. "I love you so much, Jane. Please come back. Come back to me," she whispered. She slowly leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Jane's cheek. Maura held on to her girlfriend's hand and did not want to let go. Not ever.
Light. Light and fuzzy images. This was Jane's point of view as she was slowly being reeled into consciousness. Jane carefully blinked her eyes, trying to focus on her surroundings. Though her vision was blurry, she concluded two things. She was undoubtedly in a hospital room and second, her head was pounding.
Suddenly, a figure was standing over her, but she could not make out who it was. "Jane?" The voice carefully began.
Jane wanted to respond but it was as though her brain and vocal chords were not in sync.
"Janey!" The voice excitedly proclaimed.
She knew that voice. "Ma..." she rasped out through a dry throat.
"Yes baby, it's me. Thank God you're awake. Oh! I've gotta page the nurse." Angela reached beside the bed and hit the call button. "Just relax."
"How... what happened?"
Concern fell over Angela's features. "You don't remember? You were shot, Janey. We had to take you here to the hospital."
Jane tried to wrap the information being given to her around her muddled mind. "Th... that was real?"
"Yes. Too real. We almost lost you." Angela gently stroked Jane's hair from her forehead.
Suddenly, a woman wearing scrubs came into the room with a soft smile. "Wow. It's nice to see you're awake sleeping beauty," she commented, walking over to the bed. She flipped through Jane's chart before, looking at the brunette once more. "I'm Rebecca, your nurse. How are you feeling?" She asked, as she began to check Jane's vitals.
"L… like I have cotton in my throat," Jane spoke, her voice way raspier than usual.
"That would be because of your breathing tube. We just removed it earlier this morning. Dr. Wallace saw you were strong enough to breathe on your own." The nurse poured Jane a small cup of water. "Here. Drink this slowly."
Jane took a careful sip and was soon reminded of the pounding in her cranium. "My head hurts too."
"You'll be experiencing that on and off for a few days, I'm afraid. You suffered from a concussion."
"I hit my head too?" Jane weakly asked.
"Sure did," she sympathetically replied. "Well, everything looks in order. I will be right back, Jane. I'm going to go fetch Dr. Wallace." The nurse gave a small smile to Angela before quickly exiting the room.
Jane momentarily closed her eyes and then opened them once more. She looked up at her mother who was standing over her bed. Angela gently held her daughter's hand, careful of the IV needles.
"How long have I been here, Ma?"
"Two days, just about."
"Two days?"
Angela nodded. It had been the roughest two days of the older woman's life. On top of worrying about her unconscious daughter, she also had to cooperate with the Boston P.D. She was a witness after all and saw the shooter. During this ongoing police investigation, she learned that the cops found Joey Grant a few blocks down from the Rizzoli house after the shooting. He was sitting on the ground, slumped over in a crying mess. They apprehended him and he was arrested. Among his charges was attempted murder. While searching Grant's home the following morning, law enforcement found a shrine to Jane assembled with photos of her hidden in his closet. There was no question. Joey Grant clearly had a love-sick obsession with Jane. Angela was drawn out of her thoughts by Jane's voice.
"Where's pop… and… Frankie…"
"Your father and the boys went out to grab some lunch, but they're coming right back here."
"And Maura? Has she..."
"She's been here, honey. Every second she could be, holding your hand... and talking to you. Constance had to finally drag her home to rest and change her clothes. It took a lot of convincing. She never wanted to leave you."
"Oh," Jane softly uttered. The thought of Maura worrying made Jane want to cry. She knew how sensitive Maura was when it came to her being hurt and this was way worse than a busted lip and cracked rib. This was a near death experience. She suddenly had an urge to see the blonde. She wanted Maura to see that she was okay and did not have to worry about her anymore.
Suddenly, a woman in a long white coat entered the room with a warm smile. "Jane, hello. I'm Dr. Wallace," she kindly greeted. "I performed your surgery. It's good to see you awake."
"Thanks," Jane softly replied.
"Now, I'm sure you have a lot of questions, so I'm just going to go through what was done during the procedure. If you have any questions afterwards or during, feel free to ask. Sound good?"
Jane nodded.
"Fantastic."
The doctor explained that there was damage to her liver and large intestine where the bullet and fragments were removed. They stitched up those organs and she was also given a donation of blood because she had lost a significant amount at the scene. Her recovery time in the hospital would be 3 to 4 weeks. Jane sat there silently, listening to the doctor. She couldn't believe it. She had been shot. Her mind went to the moment she saw Joey standing there with the gun, pulling the trigger. He really had shot her and left her for dead. She still could not fathom that this happened.
Dr. Wallace answered all on Jane's questions and she soon left the room. Angela stood near Jane once more. "I've already called Constance. She and Maura are on their way back."
"Okay." She looked towards a table not to far from the bed, seeing a small bouquet of flowers. "Who sent those?"
"Oh, these are from Barry. I thought it was real sweet of him to bring these in."
Jane smiled softly, thinking of her friend's generosity. "Yeah."
"Janey!" "Janey!" Two familiar voices shouted in unison into the room.
The brunette looked towards the door and saw both Tommy and Frankie rushing over to her bedside. They were ecstatic that their big sister was awake. Jane tiredly tried to give a smile. "Hey guys."
Frank Sr. soon entered the room as well. The brunette could see his eyes were teary as he drew closer to Jane. He went straight over to his oldest child and placed a tender kiss on her forehead.
Her family surrounded her and spoke to her for a good while, but Jane was beginning to feel extremely woozy and tired. She knew it had to be the effects of the medication being given to her. But she did not want to fall asleep. Not when Maura was on her way. She tried to fight it, but Angela saw Jane slowly losing the battle and she told her boys to clear the room. The brunette's eyes lids felt like led and she closed her eyes, falling back into slumber land. Maura…
When Jane opened her eyes again it was nearly dark outside. She felt a warmth over her left hand and she looked over to see another hand over her own. That's when she saw familiar reddish blonde curls resting on the bed. Maura was sitting in a chair beside her bed, with her head down. Jane instantly felt happy upon seeing her girlfriend there. She carefully moved her fingers that were under the blonde's hand. The action cause Maura to quickly raise her head and look at Jane in awe.
"Hey, Maur."
Maura tried to fight back the tears when she heard Jane's voice. She never thought she'd hear that voice again. Maura wasted no time standing up and gently showering soft kisses on Jane's face. "Oh, Jane," she whispered in relief.
Jane smiled softly at Maura's affection.
Finally, the blonde stopped her kisses and looked into Jane's eyes. "Hi, baby," Maura softly smiled with tears in her eyes.
"Hi... I, I'm sorry... I must have fallen asleep… I tried to stay awake. Ma told me you were coming."
Maura shook her head. "It's okay, Jane. You needed your rest. When you sleep it gives your body more time to heal. Our bodies use the sympathetic nervous system which is associated with spending energy and tearing down the body. So, in order for our bodies to balance with that, we use our parasympathetic system, which involves… the…" Maura began to slow down her words, seeing the look small twinkle of amusement in Jane's eyes. "…nurturing and regenerating of body tissues… and I've gone Google-mouth haven't I?" She sheepishly finished.
Jane smiled softly and nodded.
"Sorry."
"Don't be. Don't ever be, Maur," she gently replied.
The blonde smiled softly and shyly ducked her eyes.
"I'm… sorry I missed our 'after prom' date."
Maura raised her head and looked into Jane's eyes once more. "Oh, Jane. Don't worry about that. I'm just glad you're okay."
"I... I had asked Lars to set up the yacht for us, so we could ride out over the water at night. Then you and I would lay on the upper deck... with blankets and look at the stars. You know... just us."
Maura's heart constricted with the sorrow of not being able do Jane's planned surprise. "That sounds so wonderful," the blonde whispered. "It would have been an outstanding surprise, Jane."
"Yeah," Jane softly replied.
"I'd still like to do that with you."
A small smile formed on Jane's lips. "Me too."
They looked into each other's eyes affectionately for a short while until Maura spoke. "How are you feeling?" She asked.
"Like I've been shot," Jane tried to joke. But she noticed her mistake when she saw a pained and saddened expression crossover Maura's face. "Hey," she gently cooed. "I'm okay, baby; in a little pain, but okay."
Maura shook her head, remembering when her mother rushed outside to her and told her about Jane the night of the shooting. "When I got the news that you were shot, I thought my whole world was coming to an end. I was so scared."
"I know." Jane gripped Maura's hand a little tighter. "I'm sorry you had to worry."
Maura looked down at their hands and smiled to herself. Jane was squeezing back. How she had longed to have this again. Without another word, Maura leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Jane's lips. The brunette closed her eyes and responded, always loving the feel of Maura's lips against her own. The blonde then pulled back just enough so they could look deeply into each other's eyes. "Thank you for coming back to me."
"I didn't want to leave you."
"I love you, Jane."
"I love you too."
Epilogue – 5 years later
After completing four years of medical school at Boston Cambridge University, she was now in her first year of graduate school at Harvard. As a part-time job she worked at a hospital and was loving every second of it. Maura sat at her desk in her bedroom, typing away on her laptop as she finished up her final research paper of the week. From the front of the apartment she suddenly heard the front door open. A muttered curse and exhausted sigh followed and Maura knew her girlfriend had come home.
"Maur?!"
"I'm in the bedroom!"
Jane and Maura had been living together in their quaint 2 bedroom apartment for the past two years and their relationship was stronger than ever. After Jane's recovery, the brunette was allowed to take her final exams during the summer. She was unable to walk at graduation with the rest of her class, but still passed her tests with flying colors. Maura was with her every step of the way. Within a year's time, Jane went to the Boston Police Academy. Now she was a second year rookie beat cop in the Boston Police Department. She still had a lot to prove and a lot to learn, but was determined to get that detective's badge some time in the future.
Jane soon appeared in the doorway of their bedroom and leaned against the frame. She was wearing her blue police uniform with her hair pinned up and held her police cap in one hand. Maura swiveled in her chair and smiled. She still could not get over how hot Jane looked in her work clothes. "Hi, baby. How did today go?"
"Alright," Jane replied, pushing off the door frame and walking further into the room. She tossed her hat on the dresser before leaning down, placing a quick hello kiss on Maura's lips. "I'm just exhausted." The 23-year-old made a beeline for the bed and laid out her back with a groan. Maura looked at her with an amused smile on her lips. After a moment, Jane turned her head to look at Maura. "What are you working on?"
"My research paper on Chromobacterium violaceum."
"On what?" Jane frowned.
"It's a flesh-eating bacteria. It crawls inside your ear or your nose and it starts eating you-"
"Okay! I got it!" Jane proclaimed, waving her hands to block out the images entering her head. "Don't say anymore."
Maura smirked at her girlfriend, knowing she wasn't in the mood to hear all the medical jargon. "Anything happen today?"
"Uh... let's see. Stopped some kids from tagging a building, answered a robbery call at a gas station... after the robbery happened, and oh, helped an old lady with directions to a CVS. Real serious police work."
Maura sympathetically smiled at her girlfriend. "You'll get there, Jane. It'll just take time."
"I guess," the brunette mumbled. "One thing I'm not is a brass kisser. There are a lot of those in the department."
"Brass kisser?" Maura questioned.
"You know. A brown noser. Someone who wants to move up in the police ranks by kissing the higher ups' asses. That's just not me. I like to earn my keep."
"And you will." Maura stood from the desk and went over to the bed. She lifted her skirt slightly and carefully straddling Jane's hips. When the brunette looked up at her, Maura saw a flash of sadness in Jane's eyes, but the brunette quickly masked it. That did not fool Maura.
"Come here," Maura said, pulling at Jane's arm, so the brunette would sit up.
"I'm tired," Jane grumbled, but complied.
Maura smiled softly. "I know." Once Jane was eye level with her, Maura cupped the brunette's face and looked deeply into dark brown eyes. "Jane, you're smarter, braver, and more resilient than any of those cops on the force. I know your superiors will see that. I see it every day. You're a harder worker, Jane and I have never seen you fail in anything you fight for. You'll get there."
Jane softly smiled at Maura's words. "How do you always know what to say to me?"
Maura gave a smug half smile and pulled the pin out of Jane's hair. Long, dark curls soon framed the brunette's face. "I think loving you has something to do with it." She then began to undo the buttons of Jane's police uniform.
Jane smirked before leaning her head up and meeting Maura's lips with her own. They shared two lingering kisses. "Mmm," Jane purred. "Lucky me."
Their foreheads were touching and their lips were inches apart as Maura wrestled Jane's shirt from her waistband. She then pushed the shirt off Jane's shoulders, revealing a white undershirt. Maura's hands moved over Jane's breasts, over her abs and down to her belt buckle. The brunette raised an eyebrow at her. "What are you up to?"
"You have a lot of built up tension that needs to be released. I think an orgasm will help."
Jane chuckled lightly. "Right to it, huh?"
"Yep... and I'd also like to have sex."
Jane smiled. "Oh, well. That can be arranged."
Jane's hands wondered up Maura's bare thighs and then reached around to give the blonde's ass a squeeze. Her hands roamed, feeling a pantyline or the string of a thong through the blonde's skirt. "Mmm, no underwear?"
"I may have planned ahead."
Jane chuckled. "You think?"
"Well, I've determined that the likelihood of you wanting to have sex with me is at 99%. 98% if you've had a bad day."
Jane raised her eyebrows and gave a nod. "Right. So whether I've had a crappy day or not our chances of having sex are pretty high."
"Yes," Maura concluded. "Specifically, if I'm the instigator."
"Yeah?" Jane leaned forward and gently kissed Maura's lips. "Instigate away."
Maura grinned against Jane's lips as she lowered the zipper on the brunette's pants. Jane's breathing became ragged as Maura's hand pushed past the band of her underwear. Jane tightly shut her eyes and moaned as Maura reached her wetness. "Oh, wow. You're so ready."
Overcome with arousal, Jane buried her hands in Maura's hair and pulled her down for a deep kiss. Maura responded immediately and soon their tongues joined the action. Maura pushed Jane onto her back and continued to kiss her passionately. Two fingers found Jane's entrance and she pushed them into the brunette's opening. Jane gasped and dug her nails into Maura's back.
"Oh, fuck, Maura... that feels so good."
Maura slowly pumped in and out of Jane's wetness and the brunette rode her hand. The brunette squeezed her hand between their bodies and was able to easily find Maura's center. The blonde was throbbing and ready for Jane to enter her. Maura let out a moan as Jane pushed inside of her and her mouth was soon devoured by Jane's in a hungry kiss. Their hips and fingers found a delicious rhythm and the pleasure between them was building fast.
"Yeah, baby. Just like that," Jane husked as their movements became faster and more needy.
Maura broke the kiss and moved buried her face above Jane's shoulder, latching her lips to the brunette's neck. The brunette pumped her hips upward to meet the movement of Maura's hand. The blonde slipped a third finger inside of Jane and within seconds the brunette exploded over Maura's fingers with a loud groan.
Maura was still building up to her peak but knew it was happening soon. "Yeah, yeah, oh don't stop, Jane, yes... ohhhhhhhhh!" The blonde's muscles tightened around Jane's fingers and the brunette winced as Maura's teeth sank into her shoulder. It was not the first time this had happened. Maura would just get caught up in the moment of passion. Jane actually liked finding teeth imprints in the morning. It was like Maura was marking her territory.
They both laid their limp and exhausted for a few moments. Jane's hand caressed Maura's back and kissed the blonde's forehead. "I love coming home to you." Maura lifted her head and smiled before kissing Jane softly. "That was an awesome tension reliever."
"I'm just getting started," she whispered against Jane's lips.
Maura moved down Jane's body and lifted the brunette's undershirt, exposing her strong stomach. Maura still loved how well formed Jane's abdominal muscles were and it never failed to turn her on. Her eyes shifted to the upper right area where the long prominent scar from Jane's gunshot wound was. She ran her fingers along the slightly raised skin and lifted her gaze to meet Jane's eyes. Their eyes remained locked as Maura leaned down and slowly ran her wet tongue over the old scar. Jane gasped and closed her eyes at the feeling. A long while after her recovery, Jane was self conscious about the scar but Maura made her feel at ease. The blonde treated it like a badge of honor and never failed to shower the scar with kisses. It was a reminder of how close she came to losing the woman she loved and how she was so thankful to still have her in her life.
Maura moved back up Jane's body and leaned in close so their noses lightly touched. Hazel eyes looked deeply into Jane's soul and the brunette felt overwhelming devotion pouring out from the woman above her. "What is it?" Jane softly asked.
"I just wanted to tell you... I think you'll make an amazing detective someday, Officer Rizzoli."
Jane smiled affectionately; her brown eyes twinkling with fondness. "Well, as long as you think so, I guess that's all that matters, Dr. Isles."
Their lips met once more and both of them felt that ever present, warm tingling inside of them. It was Love.
