Grover's POV

When the gang found out that Rachel had woken up, they had immediately rushed through the busy city just to get to the hospital, where Rachel greeted them with lively eyes and wide smiles.

Nico, Thalia and I stood by the side, watching the joyous reunion. We couldn't help but smile as we saw Silena give Rachel a flying hug, sobbing about how she missed her so much and that she was so, so tremendously elated that she had finally returned after so many years.

They hadn't known that she was in a coma, and since Rachel couldn't exactly remember the details, they decided to let it go for another time.

Fortunately, none of them even said a word about Percy, so as to refrain from hurting her feelings…so none of them knew she had lost her memories.

However, even with the gusts of positive feelings sweeping through the atmosphere in the room, a tinge of sadness and grief still lingered, along with cold anger as we saw Micheal give Rachel a huge hug, not afraid that his secret would be revealed with Rachel's loss of memory when he saw that Rachel was so happy to see him.

At first he had been very tentative to go in, but when he did- very quietly- Rachel shouted his name straight away with a tremendously joyful smile. Micheal had been astounded for a moment, but decided to play along.

We had really wanted to tell the gang about the diary, but Percy had stopped us.

"Don't tell the gang about her and Micheal," Percy said, his tone firm and serious.

"What?" Thalia immediately spoke up. "You just want us to sit there and let that son of a bitch get away with it?!" Nico and I couldn't help but agree with her words, whilst Jason merely nodded his head, a frown creased on his forehead as he listened to him.

"Thalia," Percy said in a weary tone. "They have already seen the picture. They would never listen to you. Without Rachel's backing, the diary would be useless too."

"But surely they would recognize it was her handwriting!" Thalia pushed on stubbornly, her tone suggesting that she was about to explode with the amount of frustration bottled up inside her. Percy shook her head.

"Thalia, the picture is more evident than the diary, especially when said person does not remember writing it at all. Also, it would sow discord among the gang. I don't want that to happen." Percy explained. Thalia looked like she wanted to say more, but Nico grabbed her hand and squeezed it gently before she continued.

Thalia looked at Nico, then looked back at Percy, and then sighed.

"It's so fucking unfair…"She cursed. We all kept silent- what were we supposed to say?

"Anyway," Percy spoke up after a few seconds. "I'll be going off now, since the rest of the gang are coming. I'd prefer not to have them glaring and yelling at me once they see me."

"I'm coming with you," Annabeth stepped forward. I expected Percy to reject her, expected him to say that she should stay with the gang. He didn't.

Instead, he nodded and gave her a small grin. "Haven't talked for a while. Lets chat somewhere yea?" She nodded in agreement.

"We'll be seeing you guys then," He waved his goodbye, and he and Annabeth walked away from us, already chatting happily.

Thinking back, staring at their backs, staring at Percy's silhouette as they walked, I could tell that he was…contented. As he walked with Annabeth, as he talked with Annabeth, he didn't seem like the guys with many secrets, the guy with many problems and dilemmas, the guy whose ex-girlfriend had totally lost her memory of him. He looked…something like the Percy I knew before Rachel's accident.

Happy, joyful, carefree, contented and peaceful.

"They looked good together, don't you think so?" I whispered to Nico. He stared at me in bewilderment.

"Who?" He asked.

"Annabeth and Percy. Just now, when they were walking away from us to the exit of the hospital," I replied. He seemed to lose focus on me for a moment, trying to recall exactly how it had looked like.

"Hm…now that you mention it…" he said thoughtfully. "He still seemed really stressed out and devastated about Rachel…but when he was walking away with Annabeth…he looked a lot happier."

"Yea…" I trailed off. What could this possibly mean?

Firstly, in the past, whenever Percy had felt sad or anything, he would disappear for few days or weeks, unseen and unheard. But now…he had accepted a friend to go with him…

"Their bond sure is strong," Nico commented. I nodded.

"Sure is. Frankly, I think out of all of us, its Annabeth who is the closest to him, which is kinda amazing since we know him longer than she does."

"In our defense, we never needed him to help us through traumatic experiences or anything remotely close to what he had helped her with."

"What about Thalia?" I asked. Nico shot a quick glance towards her. She didn't seem to be paying attention to us. In fact, she seemed to be more engrossed in glaring at Micheal than listening in to our conversation.

"Well," Nico continued in a softer tone. "If you compare what he did for Thalia and Annabeth, I think he did more for Annabeth than her."

"You can't compare things like that," I chided.

"Yea, sorry," He sighed and went quiet for a few more seconds. "The only thing I can actually think of is that Thalia and Annabeth are different. Maybe the type of bond Percy and Thalia shares is different from the type Percy and Annabeth shares."

"Hm." I hummed.

We spent the rest of the day with them, though we were slightly quieter than the rest. They were too drowned in their own happiness to even notice our unusual silence anyway.

And all day long, for some reason, my mind kept drifting back to the image of Percy and Annabeth walking together, their black figures getting tinier and tinier.

No matter how hard I tried, I could not help but think they looked perfect for each other.
