Secrets are often best not left around, the more you try to hide them, the more they seem to grow, the more they eat you up on the inside till you have no choice but to say what you want to say.
Such a secret Ava had as she stared at the door before her, it was just an ordinary sliding door, but the person inside was important.
Diana is the only one she could trust.
Sighting Ava decided that staying still was not going to get her problems resolved so she hit the red button on the side of the door frame making the door slide open and entered.
Startled Diana looked at Ava before setting a book she was reading down,
"Ava?, what are you doing here?" asked Diana setting the book aside, making sure Ava didn't see it,
"Sorry lady Diana...maybe I should come back later" said Ava deciding that maybe Diana was busy,
"No no no I am not busy" said Diana standing up and walking over to the young girl.
Sighting Ava looked at Diana, she felt foolish, she felt weak, she never asked for help, yet here she was,
"I have well...a friend who has a problem" lied Ava discreetly,
"Why didn't your friend come?" asked Diana,
"She is shy...either way she has a ...boy problem" said Ava "you see, she kinda..likes this guy, but well, every time she sees him she kinda..blows on him, also he likes this other girl who makes him go gaga all the time, what should she do? should she forget him? or just tell him? or what?" asked Ava.
Diana nodded, listening to Ava before smiling and saying "I think you should tell Adrian what you feel",
Ava stared in shocked before her usual instinct kicked in, which was yell "Its not me with the problem, its my friend and there is no way in precursia I like Adrian, I hate him! I hate his gut and every single fiber in his body! you got that!",
"Okay okay" said Diana backing away from Ava a bit, then calming down a bit looked before saying "I am sorry lady Diana, I didn't mean to yell",
"Its okay, just tell your friend what I told you" said Diana winking an eye to her, nodding Ava turned around and left the office.
Once she was gone Diana sighting before taking out the book she was hiding, it was a book of baby names.
She looked at the cover, it was of a cute baby face, before hugging it against her chest.
How was she going to tell Jak that she was pregnant again? True she knew Jak wanted another child and she herself wanted another one, but right now the tensions in the family were so high that Diana didn't knew if the news of a new child will make things better or worse.
Sighting Diana sat down again, maybe waiting till things cool down before saying the big news is the best choice.
Yes...it is the best choice.
A few days later in Keira's garage:
There are many kinds of surprises which we have through our lives, there is the scary surprise, the birthday surprise and many more.
Some people like them, others don't, Adrian just so happened to be on the side that doesn't like them.
"Come on Miko, you know I hate surprises" complained Adrian as he was blindfolded by Miko who was leading him somewhere,
"Trust me, you will love this one" said Miko as she stopped, then took off the blindfold.
Once she did Adrian looked shocked at what he saw before him, it was the sandshark, but it was obviously fixes, polished and had a new paint job.
It was now painted blue, red and black, had some nice lightning like desings,
"Like it, I told her to add the lightning designs, though i wish they would have been orange" said Oran who was sitting on the front seat of the sandshark, Odell who was next to him just rolled her eyes at her brothers comment,
"Miko, I don't know what to say" said Adrian still in shocked,
"Just say you like it and thank you" said Miko cutely,
"Thank you, I like it, I really do" said Adrian he was grateful of all the hard work Miko, Keira and the rest put into making this happen.
Miko giggled and walked closer to Adrian to the point their noses touched, the next thing he knew she was kissing him, not the cheek kisses which you get from family members and such, but a kiss on the lips.
"ew" said both Oran and Odell, both finally agreeing on something,
"I'll give you another one when you win" whispered Miko into his ear before moving away.
Stupified Adrian slowly nodded.
"Hey lover boy! Put it on ice till we finish our adventure" said Oran in disgust, people kissing, he found that gross, but then again he would love to kiss Makensy...if she didn't true to her threat of turning him into a scarf afterwards.
"Hey Adrian!" He heard turning his head he saw Makensy and Godrick enter the garage, both of them wearing matching gray pants and a shirt which said the golden yackhow, which was the family restaurant.
"Hey guys, I though you were helping yours parents out" said Adrian looking at their clothes,
"Ya, but we have something to tell you" said Godrick out of breath,
"Some good news..and some bad ones" said Makensy leaning against a wall as she breathed hard, it seemes that they ran all the way from their parents dinner to there,
"Okay, whats the good news?" Asked Adrian,
"Ya, we need to hear more of those" said Odell,
"Okay, after researching the scrolls you found in the ecorian library we think we found out what the Kg are after" said Godrick,
"Their not only after Mar just because of who he is, their after him because he holds the power the strongest precursian artifacts, his sword called Honor" finished Makensy for Godrick,
"I though the sword was a joke...i mean my dad told me Barron used it against the metalhead leader and it didn't work" said Adrian confused, he remembered clearly from Jak stories about how Barron had a sword and charged at the metal head leader kor to kill him but instead he ended up being fatally injured by Kor and died when he showed Jak the bomb which he had made to crack open the precursor stone.
"Somebody must have given him a fake" said Makensy, Adrian remained quiet and though a while, the more he though about it the more it seemed to make sense.
"So, what about it? Its just a silly sword..is it?" Asked Miko curiously,
"Remember the theory we were talking about a few days ago?" Asked Godrick,
"Ya, about the city being alive?" Said Adrian wondering where they were getting to with this,
"Turns out the theory is a fact, the city lives and breaths through Mar and that sword" said Makensy,
"How is that even possible?" Asked Odell curiously,
"We don't know, all it said that the city was connected to Mar like the sword is connected to him, they a part of him and he is a part of them, its hard to explain" said Godrick,
"Now I have more reasons to find Mar before the Kg does" said Adrian with determination in his tone of voice,
"Ya but...whats the bad news?" Asked Oran, almost afraid to ask.
Both Godrick and Makensy opened their mouths to answer, but were interrupted by another voice,
"Still as delusional as before eh Adrian" he said,
"Great...the metalhead in disguise" though Adrian sourly, he really wasn't in the mood to handle Keith today.
Laying against the entrance to the garage Keith looked with a smug on his face, he was wearing a gray jacket with some black designs giving the jacket a menacing look, dark blue cargo pants with many pockets on it, wore boots that had a steel tip on them.
Around his neck he wore his fathers red scarf, Adrian remember how Keith always tried to steal his goggles, claiming that their his because his dad was suppose to give them to his son, not to an adopted kid.
Come to think of it, its the only time that his dad Jak took his side and not Keiths, so to solve that problem he gave him his red scarf which Keith was not so happy to receive it yet wore it.
"If dad catches you racing you will be grounded till your 40...if you don't get run over first" said Keith in an amused voice,
"Run over? how is that going to be even possible?" hissed Adrian at him,
"You know what I mean, you'll teleport out of the car during the race and boom" said Keith, imitating the sound of an explosion at the end then smirked at Adrian and added "Your just a disaster waiting to happen",
"Look who is talking, I am not the one who destroys other peoples vehicles" growled Adrian at him,
"I have done no such thing" said Keith turning his head away from Adrian,
"Then explain the mile long car crash that happened last year" said Adrian smirking at Keith,
"Not my problem, just so you know, if you race, you'd better watch your back, cause I will make everybody see the failure you are" with that Keith left the garage.
Adrian glared, if looks could kill Keith would have been dead in seconds, his fist unclench and clenched, blue sparks of electricity could be seen gathering on his fist.
"So uhh...what was the bad news?" asked Oran hoping to distract Adrian's rage, the last thing they need is for Adrian to cause another black out.
"Keith was the bad news" said Godrick slowly, the group groaned a bit for it was a fact that Keith would be telling this to his dad as soon as possible.
Haven city palace, later:
There was an eruption in the throne room, not the type of eruption which you see in an volcano with lava pouring out, ashes and melted rock everywhere.
No, this was of anger and fury, the source of it all was Jak.
Pacing back and forward he tried to contain the huge anger, he couldn't believe it, he gave Adrian an inch and he had the guts to disobey the biggest rule Jak had given him.
No racing, was that too much to ask?
"Jak come on, so Adrian is racing, whats the big deal?" asked Diana as she sighted at her husbands behavior,
"You know what the big deal is" said Jak as he began to run his hands through his hair in frustration,
"Jak, Adrian will be fine" said Ashlin, she had had it with Jak's overprotective behavior, looking she though in anger"Erol, I hate you for making me promise to stay quiet",
"You don't know that, neither one of you two do!" snapped Jak "The moment he sets foot in that race it will happen again!".
Ashlin glare intensified towards Jak, she could feel her left eye start to twitch, she couldn't take it anymore, for many years she had been hiding something, a secret which she had been bottling up and it was time to spill the beans,
"No it won't because what happened wasn't an accident" Ashlin snapped back at him.
Jak's head snapped at her direction, he stared, his face in shock at what he heard.
Taking a breath Ashlin said "It was no accident and it wasn't revenge either, my father knew that you were going to enter the race, he was going to kill you and Erol did what he did so you could escape",
"Erol didn't want to kill me on that race?" asked Jak slowly, Ashlin shook her head before saying "No, it was to create a diversion so you could escape",
"Why? what else do you know Ashlin?" asked Jak, at the end he was sounding mad, all this time Ashlin knew what happened, what were Erols intentions but never said anything,
"He wanted to take down the Barron that day, why? I am not sure, but I do know is that he knew that he couldn't do it, so he figured if he spared your life then you'd do the job for him" said Ashlin then added "Now you can either come and watch Adrian race without causing a scene or I will lock you here till after the race".
Jak looked not saying anything,
"Fine, don't support your son, come on Diana" growled Ashlin before storming out, Diana following close by.
Jak said nothing, but he felt like he had failed, it seemed everything he had done all this time was wrong.
