I'm trying- 26

Around 3 months had gone by since Kurt and Blaine decided to work on them for a little while. Blaine's birthday had passed and it was awesome. He celebrated his 20th birthday with his whole family, a part from his dad, along with Kurt's family too.

Toronto is now 5 months old almost 6 in a few days and he was the perfect baby for Blaine and Kurt. Blaine liked to feed Toronto a lot so he is a very chubby baby but everyone loved it. Toronto's first Christmas was spent at Aunt Sandra's house with all the family again.

Being friends with Blaine was proving to be a difficult task ever since Blaine moved back in. Since Blaine had moved back in, he would sometimes bump into him coming out of the shower which would turn Kurt right on but wasn't able to do anything.

Blaine was practically out of the gang now. He stopped going to 'meetings' and didn't go out on any jobs that Jason told him to do. Ronnie decided that he was just going to stay in the gang because he didn't want to get hurt and tried to tell Blaine the same thing but he just wouldn't listen but Blaine will just have to find out the consequences.

Klaine

"Blaine, come downstairs," Kurt shouted as he rocked a crying Toronto in his arms. It was about 11 on a Saturday morning in a cold morning in February.

"What?" Blaine groaned as he rubbed his eyes and came downstairs in just his pyjama bottoms, obviously just waking up.

"Toronto just won't stop fucking crying is what," Kurt said, thoroughly annoyed.

"And you called me why?" Blaine asked as he walked into the living room and flopped on to the sofa.

"Because he's your son too. I've been trying to calm him for an hour and a half," Kurt sighed.

"Give him here," Blaine said as he put up his arms. Kurt handed TJ to Blaine and walked into the kitchen.

"Hey T, what's wrong? Why are you giving daddy so much stress?" Blaine asked as he bounced him in his lap but it just did seem to work.

"I've tried giving him milk, he doesn't want it. I've tried mashed potatoes but nope, threw all of it on the floor," Kurt said as he walked back in with a cup of coffee.

"Maybe there's something wrong. Is his temperature raised?" Blaine asked as he put the back of his hand on TJ's head.

"I didn't check but he didn't feel abnormally warm," Kurt frowned as he drank some coffee.

Blaine nodded and stood up, putting the wailing TJ on his chest. "Is the thermometer in the bathroom cabinet?" Blaine asked.

"Yeah, it should be," Kurt nodded.

"Okay, I'll be back in a second," Blaine said as he left the living room and tried to soothe TJ as best as he could but it just wasn't working. He found the thermometer and took it back downstairs to Kurt.

"Did you find it?" Kurt asked.

"Yeah, just gotta test it," Blaine said as he sat back down and tried to get TJ to calm down a little just so he can take his temperature.

"I think he has a fever. He's never like this," Kurt said as he waved Toronto's favourite giraffe toy in front of him but that just seemed to make things worse.

"Well your diagnosis is correct. Temp is 107," Blaine said as he showed the thermometer to Kurt.

"When did you get that in?" Kurt asked when he read it.

"His mouth was open whilst he was crying," Blaine said as he spoke loud because TJ's wailing was simply deafening.

"Do you wanna take him to the hospital because he hasn't eaten since last evening so he must be hungry," Kurt said nervously.

"I think we should. We'll get you to the hospital T, no more crying," Blaine said as he looked around for his pacifier.

"Hey babe, where's his pacifier?" Blaine asked. Although they weren't dating yet, Blaine still liked to call him babe.

"Upstairs, on our bedside table," Kurt said as he put his head in his hands.

"Hey what's wrong?" Blaine asked again.

"I just feel like I've let him down. He's had a temperature for how long and I'm only realising now," Kurt sighed.

"It's not your fault baby. He may have developed it before we both woke up," Blaine assured as he still tried to soother TJ.

"I know but still. I just feel like a crap dad," Kurt said as he looked up at Blaine.

"Don't feel like that Kurt. He knows you're the most important thing in his life. Without you he wouldn't be here," Blaine smiled as he played with Kurt's hair.

"Still feel bad," Kurt confessed.

"I can make you feel better," Blaine said before leaning in and kissing Kurt softly. Kurt was surprised by the action but didn't stop it. This was the first time they kissed properly ever since Kurt said they should stay friends and man if felt good. They would have carried on but stopped when reality hit that their baby boy needed help.

"Oh um, we need to get ready and take him," Kurt said when they pulled back.

"Oh of course. Yeah. Um I'll just slip on some tracks and a shirt," Blaine said before handing TJ to Kurt and went upstairs to change.

"Come on T, please stop crying. We're going to the hospital," Kurt groaned as he tried to get the screaming baby to stop crying. Toronto's face was streaming with tears and was red hot along with snot coming down from his nose.

Toronto didn't care and carried on letting the whole house know he was distressed. Burt came down the stairs rubbing his eyes a lot like Blaine did a little while ago.

"What's with all the crying?" Burt asked groggily.

"Toronto has a fever so we're taking him to the hospital," Kurt explained.

"Awh, is that what's got my grandbaby so upset," Burt pouted as he went over and ruffled his curls.

"Yeah and Blaine is taking his sweet time," Kurt said annoyed as he went to the bottom of the stairs.

"Blaine can you hurry up please," he shouted.

"I'm coming I'm coming," Blaine said as he jogged his way downstairs.

"You're going like that?" Blaine asked when he saw Kurt still in his pyjama bottoms and a t-shirt.

"Yes, my son is ill I don't think we have time to dress up like we're in a fashion show," Kurt said as he took the car keys up off of the hook.

"Dad, we're going. We'll call if we need to stay in or anything," Kurt said before leaving the house along with Blaine.

"Want me to drive?" Blaine asked

"Yeah, you drive faster," Kurt said as he finished buckling TJ up.

"Experience from my motorbike," Blaine grinned as he took the keys and go in the car as Kurt did the same before speeding away.

The car ride was quiet apart from the constant howls from TJ but Kurt and Blaine hardly spoke a word to each other. It wasn't an awkward silence but it seemed as if they were both thinking about the kiss. It shouldn't have happened but both were glad it did.

"We're here," Blaine said as he parked the car up in the same parking lot he was in when Kurt went into labour.

Kurt got out of the car and took the travel seat before walking into the hospital with Blaine at his side. They went to the nurses' station and told them what was wrong with Toronto and they told them that a doctor would see them soon.

"He finally seems to be calming down," Kurt said as he stroked TJ's tear stained cheek. Toronto wasn't crying as much as before but he was still distressed and uncomfortable.

"Wanna give papa a cuddle?" Blaine asked as he looked down at TJ. Toronto seemed to understand this question since he put his arm up and made grabby hands.

Kurt smiled at this gesture before undoing the belt, letting Blaine take him out.

"Told you he was your favourite," Kurt said as he stroked TJ's curls.

"Stop saying that because that isn't true," Blaine said as he cuddled Toronto close to him.

"It is Blaine and that's fine. Honestly," Kurt shrugged.

"But it's not true, seriously stop it," Blaine said as he kissed Toronto's cheek. Kurt was about to reply but stopped when a nurse walked out of one of the examination rooms.

"Um, Kurt and Blaine Hummel?" She asked as she looked up from one of the sheets.

"Hummel huh? We're married?" Kurt asked as he raised his eyebrows and stood up along with Blaine.

"I liked it, I couldn't resist," Blaine shrugged as he followed the nurse into the examination room.

"So what seems to be wrong with your little man then?" The nurse asked as she closed the door. She looked a lot like Dr Chang but just in a younger version. Her name tag read Dr Chang too so they're definitely related in some way.

"I don't know, he's been up since like 7 in the morning crying literally non-stop and when we took his temperature it was 107. He hasn't been drinking his milk since last night which is weird." Kurt explained as he took hold of Toronto's tiny hands.

"Hm, okay well I'm gonna take him from you boys if you don't mind? I'm just going to run some tests for any juvenile illnesses but it's most likely just a fever or cold," she smiled, a smile that looked familiar.

"You don't think it's serious do you?" Kurt asked suddenly panicked.

"Not at all, 9 times out of 10 it's just a simple cold but we like to double check," The younger doctor Chang said as she walked over and picked up Toronto who started wailing loudly again.

"Shh shh, don't cry baby boy. You'll be with daddy and papa again soon," Kurt smiled at him to try and make sure he was calm.

"We'll settle him down don't worry. You can wait out in the waiting room and our results should be back in around half an hour?" she said as she made silly faces.

"Okay, that sounds cool." Blaine nodded. "Thank you."

"Just doing my job but I'll see you in a bit," she said before leaving the room.

"Better get back to sitting around then," Kurt said as he stood up again and Blaine followed into the waiting room.

"I think he'll be okay like she said," Blaine said as he took hold of Kurt's hand once they were seated in the living room. Kurt smiled down at their hands then looked back up at Blaine.

"So, that kiss huh?" Kurt said to break the ice.

"Yeah… Sorry about that. I just felt the need to do it," Blaine chuckled a little uncomfortably.

"Don't worry about it. I um liked it," Kurt said with a small smile.

"Oh yeah? I thought you'd be pissed," Blaine confessed.

"Not at all… I wanted to talk about us getting back together again," Kurt said.

"Oh, you did? What did you want to say?" Blaine asked feeling his hopes being raised.

"I think we should be together again… I know you haven't left Jason yet but I miss you. I know you live with us again but I miss us, the hugs, and the cuddles, the late night cuddle sessions with TJ," Kurt sighed.

"I miss all of that too. I've wanted to do this for ages but I knew I had to leave first and I've almost done it," Blaine said excitedly.

"That's awesome babe. What are you doing to do it?" Kurt asked.

"Nothing complicated, I'm just not going to any meetings now or doing any of his jobs. He won't do anything but just kick me out. I've seen it before. He might beat me up for losing him money like last time but nothing like with Andrew," Blaine said as he ran his thumb over Kurt's knuckles.

"I love you," was all Kurt could say before he attached his lips to Blaine's. Blaine was taken aback by it but kissed back. Kurt put his arms around Blaine's neck and moved closer to him in the plastic hospital chairs.

"Well, I guess we're together again then?" Blaine smirked when he pulled back.

"Uhuh, we so are," Kurt grinned as he kissed Blaine again.

"So we're together right before TJ turns 6 months and a week before Valentine's Day. Coincidence I think not," Blaine chuckled.

"You're so cheesy. You're supposed to be a bad boy remember!" Kurt smiled as he pushed Blaine's shoulder softly.

"Oh I am a bad boy and now that we're together I can show you how bad I am," Blaine said as he leaned in closer and whispered the last part into Kurt's ear.

"Oh my god, don't get me hard in the hospital. I swear my hormones have never gone back to control," Kurt moaned softly.

"Thank you Toronto-Jesse Anderson Hummel," Blaine cheered.

"No, thank you Blaine Anderson for seducing me when we were supposed to be going out that night," Kurt laughed as he rested his head on Blaine's shoulder.

"Anytime," Blaine smirked, "So we're a real now family again?"

"Mhm, Toronto, daddy and papa. I like the idea of that," Kurt said as he cuddled into Blaine's side.

"I like it too. I know he's gonna be okay. He's a fighter just like us, there's nothing he can't get through," Blaine said as he comforted Kurt who suddenly looked nervous when doctor Chang came back out.

"How is he? Is he okay?" Kurt asked as he flew out of his seat.

"We've got him to calm down and he's okay but we did find something. We can go see him and I'll explain. He's with one of our nurses," Dr Chang smiled as she directed Kurt and Blaine to the ward Toronto was in.

Once they arrived to the ward, they found Toronto in the arms of a male nurse, smiling and clapping his hands once he saw his daddy and papa.

"The nurse is hot," Blaine mumbled to Kurt as they walked closer.

"Behave. We just got together again," Kurt laughed as he reached the nurse and took TJ out of the nurse's arm.

"So what seems to be wrong with our little solider?" Blaine asked as he ruffled his curls.

"We just did some basic checks on him and everything came back clear but when we checked his breathing it seems as if something was blocking his airways. We did some more tests for anything to be concerned about and we have come to the conclusion he's asthmatic," she explained.

Blaine and Kurt looked at each other, not knowing how to react or what to say.

"I know that sounds scary but it's nothing to worry about if it's controlled," Dr Chang said as she tried to reassure them.

"H-how do we control it?" Kurt asked as he bounced Toronto on his lap.

"Well there are two types of inhalers he's going to need to take. This blue one and the brown one," She said as she showed both of them the two inhalers.

"What do they do?" Blaine asked slightly confused.

"Well the blue one is a reliever which is a temporary relief for his symptoms and the brown one should prevent the symptoms," She explained.

"Right okay. Can he um, could he die from this?" Kurt asked quietly.

"Kurt!" Blaine said in shock.

"We have the right to know Blaine." Kurt said angrily as continued stroking TJ's hair.

"It's very unlikely but yes it's possible. Asthma attacks are the main cause of death but are very unlikely if the medication is taken correctly," Dr Chang explained.

"Okay, that's fine. So could you explain how we do this?" Kurt asked.

"Of course," Dr Chang said before she started explaining what they needed to do and when they needed to do it.

"That seems pretty simple," Blaine said once she finished explaining.

"It is and as he gets older he'll learn to do it himself. It's really simple to handle honestly boys. There's nothing major about this at all," Dr Chang smiled as she stroked TJ's cheek softly.

"Thank you so much. You and your mom are so awesome," Kurt said as he stood up and lifted Toronto up to his chest.

"You had my mom as your doctor?" she asked with a grin.

"Mhm, delivered this little one," Kurt smiled as he put Toronto on his hip.

"Awh, well I'm gonna be this little guy's GP. We're gonna have monthly check ups to start off with but that will eventually turn into yearly ones," she said as she started writing out a prescription.

"Thank you so much Dr Chang," Blaine said as he stood up too.

"No problem, just doing my job. So I shall see you in a month's time alright?" she said as she gave them their prescription.

"Yup, got it," Kurt nodded before he waved to Dr Chang and left along with Blaine.

"So, asthmatic huh? Think we can handle it?" Blaine asked as they left the hospital. It was only around 2 in the afternoon when they'd finally left with all of the medication.

"Of course. His medication seems simple enough and he's a good boy," Kurt smiled as he kissed Toronto's cheek.

"I think our little man needs some sleep. He looks tired," Blaine said when he saw Toronto's face as Kurt put him in his seat.

"We should drive around for a little while, it'll knock him out soon enough," Kurt smiled and got into the car.

"No problem," Blaine said when he got into the car too.

"I'm so excited to become a family again," Kurt said once he got the engine started.

"Me too. I love you both so much," Blaine sighed happily.

"And we love you too," Kurt grinned as he pulled out of the car park, ready to get their lives back on track.

A/N Hope you enjoyed and awwh TJ. I think I'm changing the amount of chapters I have because I have an idea. Reviews are good guys.
