As Takeshi and Lucas head up the staircase, Vladimir watches them from the shadows. Chuckling, he moves down the staircase past them to reach the dungeon. Where Lucas was hung, he places a hand on the ground and releases a black pulse that tears away the floor.
This also opens a secret room, illuminated by the purple light of an object at the very middle. Vladimir leaps down to reach it, using darkness to repel the talismans protecting it. "There." He then reaches out and grabs the item, the hilt of an ancient weapon. It is dark red and has Nordic runes at the edge glowing like magma lines. "Scabrite's hilt. Oh how I've missed you."
As he holds the weapon, his skin begins to tear. Odin's seal is still applied, but even with that I'm losing my disguise. Let's make this fast; he's probably done by now. He enters the shadows and fades away.
…
Vladimir laughs a bunch watching Takeshi disappear into the black hole. Alexianna, on Zeratos, attacks him with her Darklord's power. The female knight floats before it to take the hit, and explodes into black smoke that retreats inside of Vladimir. "Okay, enough of this. I got what I needed at the moment."
His skin peels more as he summons darkness around him. Alexianna shouts, "Bring back Takeshi!"
"I can't. He's gone," he tells her before fading away. "You have another problem; the coming darkness."
As he leaves, his darkness plagues over the land. The Fire class monsters run away in fear as purple, mechanical hands rise up from the dark. The hands pull up, revealing Umbral Ghouls and Evilswarm monsters.
"Wipe them away men!" shouts the Evilswarm Thanatos as he leads his men to attacking the Virus Busters.
"What the?" Tyson looks over at the demons, as the Umbral Ghouls tear apart his Barrel Dragon. He grasps his chest in pain.
"Tyson!" Mira sends Edgeman to slice them apart, before going to his side.
"Tyrant Dragon!" Anna flies away to avoid getting caught on her dragon, taking Jesse with her, before reaching Alexianna and Milla above. "What's going on?"
"It's Vladimir," says the French Psychic. "That bastard threw Takeshi in that black hole after he took his deck! He set us up!"
Jesse snaps his fingers and grumbles. "I knew it! We shouldn't have come here, and now that idiot's gone!"
"Don't call Takeshi an idiot!" Alexianna snaps at him from above, having heard his grumbling.
"We have to get out of here. We'll gather the others and leave," Milla says as she looks down below.
"Why should we trust you?" Alexianna asks her. "Takeshi isn't here, so there's nothing keeping you from abandoning us... Or me."
"The only help I do not require is you, whore." She widens her eyes at her claim. Milla then points over to the north. "We'll head to the Spellcaster's Village and hide out there. Everyone who can fly, do so now!"
Hearing her loud words, the escaped Kouji summons Dragunity Pilum to get himself and Claire away. Mira board Anna's Genesis Dragon with Tyson, while Milla leads everyone. Zeratos swoops down to grab Margot, following after Milla.
But before they could get further, a figure illuminates into reality from a black void. It's a skeletal-like dragon composed of red, rotting flesh towering larger than even Anna's Tyrant Dragon. It laughs staring at them.
"Dragonecro!" Margot states in shock. "Why is that cursed demon alive?"
"Who? Dragonecro?" asks Milla, having never seen this monster before.
Before the dragon could attack, a stream of fire burns into the dragon, giving our heroes a path. They look down and spot the Jurrac Giganoto breathing fire. On board it is Malinda, while above her is Red Demon's Dragon and Rex Atlas.
"Wait, is that..." Anna mutters when she sees them. "Rex!"
"We'll talk later! Get ready to run!" shouts Rex as the Red Demon breathes its own flames at Dragonecro. Unfortunately, Dragonecro descends upon the dinosaur, holding back both flames with both hands. It grabs Giganoto and pulls, drawing out its soul. "What?"
The soul of Giganoto releases a stream of flames to kill the husk, forcing Malinda to fall off. Behind the dragon laughter erupts, and the Revived King Hadeath stands tall. Tyson notes him and frowns. "Ah... It's that Hades freak. I thought he died."
"Tyson Remington!" shouts the undead king. "I have come back from the dead to kill you once and for all."
"Absolute Power Force!" Red Demon's Dragon releases its wrath on the soul Giganoto, while Rex reaches out to take Malinda's hand. "Alright, let's go!"
"Attack!" Anna's dragon breathes more flames, diverting Dragonecro's attention. They then use that to leave, taking to the skies up north as fast as they could.
Alexianna reaches Milla and asks, "Why do you hate me so? What does he really mean to you?"
Keeping a firm glare ahead, she speaks. "Takeshi was fine without ever meeting you. He was well on his way to returning to ruling the land, but ever since he fell for you he lost focus! He had nothing, no one to rely on in his world, and no one who wanted him around. No one but his sister. It was fine until he met you, and you charmed your way into his life. I don't even understand it; if he wanted to partake in the flesh I'm good enough for him."
"W-What?!" Alexianna blushes at her assumption. "You make too much of an assumption. He hasn't said he likes me, and I haven't even decided-"
"Quit taking me for a fool." Milla flies faster leading the others.
Elsewhere...
Vladimir enters a dark chamber, still holding Scabrite and Takeshi's Aesir deck. He passes by the green lit room where the captured bodies of the student duelists are, and reaches a set of stairs that leads him to a throne room. Inside he sees three dark purple seats separated yet facing one another in a triangle formation, two of which occupied by husks attached to them.
Vladimir places the god cards in a panel set in the middle of the triangle: Thor faces the bottom left throne, Loki faces the bottom right empty throne, and Odin the top throne. Vladimir takes a seat in the empty seat, and all three cards glow. He laughs as energy shoots out from the cards into the bodies in the thrones. The energy revitalizes the husks, returning them to their original forms. Vladimir's skin sheds away, exposing dark red hair in place of green.
The first body to move is the bottom right. It's a man encased head to toe in golden-bronze armor. He has clawed fingers that scrape the arm rest, adding to the many already adorning it. Horns spring out from his body, including his shoulders, and a black cape billows from around him. His blood red eyes flash in the darkness.
Vladimir finishes his transformation. He is now a taller man with a regular skin tone and black leather adorning him in place of the regular clothing he had before. He has a black visor over his face covering his nose and eyes, and red hair standing tall wildly over him, as well as gauntlets with curved blades longer than his arms. Beside him the Sword of Dark Destruction transforms into a longer, more elegant cleaver. A red coattail flows below his abs.
The third body, also the largest, breaks free. This one wears a black metal tunic with green lining and buttons. Its boots grow spikes along with his gauntlets, the latter of which along with its elbow, shoulder and knee pads are bone white. Its head is that of a skinless skull with glowing green eyes, and devil horns protruding from both sides of its foreheads. A blue aura rises from its body as it groans, a black mist emitting from its teeth, gripping the ax beside him.
...
Amidst the destruction Takeshi sees his friend Madas in the rubble. "Madas!" Takeshi rushes to his friend's side, before stopping to realize something. 'Why is he in this rubble?'
Madas opens his eyes and rises up, that familiar green glow inside. Above Flaael crashes into the sea. "Everything has fallen... I cannot commence my desires anymore!"
"Messiah!" Madas raises his right hand, covered in rubble and parts, and fires a punch that knocks Takeshi into a wall. He bounces off painfully and rolls along the ground.
"I believe I remember you..." Madas convert his arm into a gun and fires a green beam of energy, forcing Takeshi to move away.
He holds his head, feeling blood leaking out from his wound. Takeshi runs down the alleyway, evading a mechanize hand reaching out for him. I don't have the Aesir cards anymore, but I still have to do something... I need a new deck.
He comes to another turn, seeing it's a dead end. He checks the doors, only to find nothing will open. Balls.
"No where to run kid!" Madas walks after him slowly, eyes glowing bright green. "I remember you're one of the humans who's been stopping my progress!"
Before he could attack, a blade swings by and slashes, knocking him to the side. Takeshi blinks in shock to see it's the Black Luster Soldier. "The Black Luster Soldier?"
The soldier turns around, revealing himself to be the Envoy of the Beginning Mythran. He turns around and bows on one knee to Takeshi. "It's such an honor to be in your presence again, Odin."
Takeshi sputters a bit. "Look, that's not necessary. Wait, how do you know that?"
"I am one who serves the gods of the spiritual world, the Emissary of Mercy and Ruthlessness Mythran. And this close, I can see without a doubt that you are indeed Odin," he states, his head still low.
"Oh... Then you..."
"Now that I have found you, I will guard you with my life." Mythran stands up, turning around to face Madas. "Lend me your flesh and I will protect you."
Takeshi looks over at Mythran with a pause, before glancing to Madas standing up. "Okay." Mythran enters Takeshi, and with his power faces the mechanized duelist.
"So, resistance? Then I'll wipe you away!" Madas summons a cannon to fire at him. Through Takeshi, Mythran summons his Chaos Blade and deflects it. He then slashes, slicing off his mechanical parts. "Grek!"
"Messiah, it's over. With this attack I'll finish you-" Mythran stops when Takeshi holds him back. "What are you doing?"
"He's possessed my friend! If you attack now..." Takeshi falls to his knees.
Messiah laughs before running away. "I'll recharge and come for you later. Count your lifetime human!" Takeshi regains control of himself and chases him down the corner, only to lose him.
"Damn. Madas is gone..." Takeshi groans.
He quickly looks back when he hears some clapping. That's when he spots the Sorciere de Fleur Marguerite. She lifts up her mask, revealing the dazzling beauty's true face. "Hello! You're Odin right?"
"... Yes."
Master Odin, be wary! She attacked me in the spirit world. She may as well be with Vladimir!
She edges near him quickly, holding her rose flower staff up to his face. He breathes in the pollen and sneezes, blowing out two cards from the staff. They float in front of Marguerite, who picks them and hands the cards over. "What is this?" Takeshi asks her.
"I tend to visit the human world on occasion. It's one of my favorite past times. I often run into humans I like, and grant them the power to reach their full potential. Like this one Ishihara Kaname." Takeshi's eyes widen in shock.
"What have you done to my sister?!"
"Don't assume the worse so quickly Odin." She places the cards in his hand. "If you ever want to stop them and save your friends you will need these. And a new deck; only nature can protect you now."
Marguerite vanishes in a flurry of petals, leaving Takeshi alone with only himself and Mythran. He walks away in a hurry before breaking off into a run. As he does he checks the first card with confusion. "How ironic that I have something like this."
Takeshi comes out of the alley, where someone says, "Hey you!" He turns to the source to see Chase and Yusei coming his way.
"Ah. Fudo-san!" Takeshi becomes astounded to see him. He really is in the real world.
"What was that just now?" Yusei asks him, having seen the light from before.
"What was what?"
"That light. We know you know what we're talking about," Chase says with his arms crossed.
Takeshi pauses thinking of how to speak, before saying, "I think it came from someone who ran away." No point in lying. If he's here he can help me get back. "I have to go anyway, but-"
"Wait, hold up..." Chase approaches Takeshi, noticing his duel disk. "Are you from the school?"
Hearing what he said, goggle boy's attention is perked. "You... You're from the other world too?"
"Wait," Yusei begins to speak up. "You were in the other world with Chase?"
"I don't exactly know him, but yes. I'm Takeshi Ishihara." Takeshi then goes on to explain what he's been doing in the other world. As he does, Mythran also tells him that he knows Chase, having led his group to the volcano to meet them.
"Good. Atleast Emily's safe," Yusei says with a relief knowing that Takeshi was with her before he left.
"But we gotta get back; the Vampire Lord stole the Aesir cards from me, and now I don't have a deck to fight back with. Even worse, I think something's wrong with my sister," Takeshi says with worry.
"I can go see Aki," Yusei suggests. "The plan to enter the Spirit World can work should she use her power. But, we need to find Messiah now and keep him from doing anymore damage."
"Yeah..." Takeshi looks off to the side. He then walks away.
"Where are you going?" Chase asks him.
"I need to replace my deck for the time being," he replies, heading off past the rubble. "I'll come back when I can."
Yusei frowns slightly. "Chase, I need you to look after him."
"Me?"
"We still need to look for Messiah, and I would like for you to keep an eye on him. Your parents don't know of your arrival, and until we can ascertain he's gone we need you and him to keep low so you stay out of the public eye."
Why stay low? There's probably something I'm missing, but it sounds logical. "Alright, but where do we stay until the day ends?" Yusei hands him a cellular phone.
"I have to look for Jack and the others. But when I'm done I'll come back for you. Call me whenever," he tells him before heading back to the station. Messsiah is after me, so he'll ignore them. But once Aki can get ready we can head for the other world and stop whatever's behind all of this.
Takeshi walks with a yawn while moving his goggles over his eyes. Chase follows after him, moving close to his left. "Hey, wait up goggle boy."
"My name is Takeshi... Why are you following me?"
"Because it's best we stay together and I can't see my family yet." Chase sighs as he keeps up the pace. "Where are you going anyway?"
Takeshi looks over at him. "I'm going to check up on my sister at a mental institution first. Then I'm going to get some new cards..."
"Mental institution?" He looks away, regretting asking that. He won't even bother following that up.
"Hope you kept your cash. We need to take the train," he tells him before pointing at the train station up ahead.
Takeshi ends up bumping into someone. "Oh, sorry." He's an older man with a rugged beard.
"Oh, no problem kid. What's the hurry?"
"It's really important," he replies before stepping aside.
"You work too hard; you need to take the time to enjoy beauty around you." The old man then walks away.
Upon reaching the station Takeshi checks his wallet, and Chase immediately comments on it. "A gold wolf?"
"It's Garo," he says before taking out a card and getting some credits out to pay for their ride. After boarding, the train soon takes off, leaving Neo Domino City. They sit side by side in a single row, Takeshi looking out the window. "What time is it?"
I believe it's noon. Mythran says to him in his head.
Chase's stomach begins to growl. "Ugh. Forgot to eat before I left the other world. We were so close to reaching that volcano."
"You were there?"
"Yeah, led by the Chaos Soldier Mythran. He was looking for an evil weapon called Scabrite to destroy it, and wanted to find someone who was gonna be Odin," he tells him while looking down the aisle. "So, which branch of Duel Academia are you?"
"Central. You?"
"Kings. It's pretty close to Japan than the island."
"Yeah, I heard..." Takeshi looks back out the window, where the lush fields come into focus. He sees farmers working, and his eyes widen. He sits up from his seat and looks out.
"What? See a bird?" Chase asks, and after looking out he freezes up too. Flying over the fields is a large, green bird. "...Is that a Duel Spirit?"
"Yeah. Though I guess no one else can see it, or the black hole above..." Takeshi turns to him in shock. "You can see it too?"
"You can, so why shouldn't I?" Takeshi gives him a look, one that says 'what are you hiding,' forcing Chase to sigh. "I've been able to see spirits recently, before we ended up trapped in that world. I don't wanna talk about it."
Interesting. Takeshi keeps looking out the window, and the bird bats an eye at him before vanishing. The mental institution isn't far from this spot. I can visit it later.
After a couple of minutes they eventually reach their stop and leave the train. Takeshi leads Chase down the road to reach an orange and green institution surrounded by fences. They reach the circular building named the Artisan Asylum for the Mentally Impaired and enter the front, where a receptionist sits behind a counter.
"Hello, ma...ma'am?" Takeshi manages to grab her attention. "I need to visit one Ishihara Kaname."
She takes out her clipboard. "Relation?"
"Sister."
She sighs and says, "Take the hallway down to the-"
"I know; second door, west wing." Takeshi heads down the hallway, Chase following after him. "You don't have to come. She's not going to know who you are."
"I got nothing better to do than to follow you, so I'm doing it. We need to get back and save the others though," he says before moving faster.
"Friends back there?"
"Of course. Aren't yours?" Takeshi pauses, a sign the Zero Knight doesn't take well. "Takeshi?"
"Yeah. Alexianna, Tyson, and the others... Before I can even think of going back I need the power to fight with them. That's why I'm here." They reach the west wing and continue until reaching the second door.
Takeshi opens it up, and inside they see an attractive woman with messy black hair and cerulean blue eyes staring at a television screen. Looking at it, he could see she's watching one of the Muppet movies. "Nee-san?"
She turns her head slightly to him, blinking once before speaking, "Takeshi." She rises from her bed to sit up.
"I came here to visit you." He looks around the room in search of anything odd.
"It's just as she said." He turns back to her. "The Sorciere de Fleur said you would arrive to see me."
"What else did she say to you?" he asks her.
"The Sorciere de Fleur?" Chase obviously is confused to what's going on.
"Foolish little brother, you went to a world where you and others were attacked by Duel Monsters to stop a Messiah, right?" He nods. "Then, you've done what I knew would happen. You gained the power of the Aesirs, and lost them."
"If you know so much then you know what I want."
"I don't have that deck anymore. It was lost in the crash, and now I can't use it." Takeshi sighs. "But, she knew this would happen too. So, she told me to do this."
Kaname points out the window. Takeshi looks out it, and flinches seeing the bird from before flying over on the brink of the compound's surroundings. Beside it are three other animals: a bushy tiger, a bark scaled dragon and a moss covered tortoise. "It's those creatures."
"Huh... When those four are together it reminds me of the four pillar animals from the Chinese Mythology," Chase says after seeing them.
Takeshi then thinks, realizing what it could be. He runs out the door, leaving Chase behind. "Is he really going to see some giant Duel Spirits?"
"Are you friends with my idiot brother?" Kaname asks Chase.
He shrugs. "I know him if that's what you mean." He then stares at her, curiously. "You're mentally ill right?"
"Formerly... But now I've healed, and I don't want to leave yet." She resumes her Muppet Treasure Island, giving a soft laugh. "Takeshi needs to fight his own battles anyway. Accepting the Aesir cards means he's ready to live his life his way; he's strong enough to handle this without someone who will only hold him back."
Pausing, Chase eventually walks outside to follow Takeshi. He finds him outside the institution following the four animal spirits. I better not get killed for this.
Takeshi continues to follow the spirits into the surrounding forest. "Takeshi, why are you following them anyway?"
"A theory. They might inspire the next deck I make," he replies as he runs faster. His tracking through the mountains and forests in the other world have added to his movement here.
Eventually the two reach a shrine, one with obvious connections to the Shinto faith. Takeshi sees the spirits enter the shrine. He walks up to it and opens the door, seeing a stand where an offering is placed in the form of a Duel Monsters deck. A deck?
He reaches out to touch it, but he ends up freezing up. No, I can't. I'd be stealing someone else's cards. A deck of cards someone put their heart and soul into forging. I'm not going to steal. He walks away from the deck, coming face to face with an old man. "... You?"
"Ah, what a nice day isn't it?" Takeshi recognizes him as the old man he met on his way here. "Good day to you, Odin."
"Odin?" Takeshi's eyes widen; only Duel Spirits should know to call him that. "Who are you?"
Odin, it's another Duel Spirit. Mythran says in his head.
The old man grabs his collar and glows. "We've been waiting for you; Marguerite told us of your arrival so we've assembled our powers into this deck. But, you can't. Not until you can become one with nature."
"Huh?" The man transforms, gaining a plant themed ronin outfit with two katanas and a straw hat. He tilts back his hat. "You..."
"I am Kenbunsemimaru, the Bladed Defender of Shinra," he says before walking past him to reach the deck. "You got integrity, I like that. You also hold a strong spirit. But, you need to prove yourself worthy of our contract; we need to see if you CAN use our power."
"As in I should duel for it? I don't have a deck," he tells him.
"I know, but that's not what I was saying. You have to duel against someone else using this deck." Kenbunsemimaru inserts the deck inside of his duel disk.
"A test..." Takeshi walks outside of the shrine to meet Chase. "Chase, I need to duel against you."
"What? Now? Shouldn't we head back?"
"Might as well get it over with," Takeshi replaces before activating his duel disk. "I'll try this new deck out before we leave."
With an exhale through the nose Chase shrugs, feeling he's being strung along again. "Let's go." He activates his duel disk.
Takeshi turns on his own, and both draw five cards before saying, "Duel!"
Takeshi: 8000
Chase: 8000
"I'll start us off," Chase says before setting a card. "I'll set one card facedown and special summon Dark Grepher!" Appearing to the field is a dark version of the warrior Grepher.
Dark Grepher: 1700/1600 (4)
"This monster can be special summoned by sending one level 5 or higher Dark monster from my hand to the grave. I choose Infernity General. I then summon Infernity Beast."
Infernity Beast: 1600/1200 (3)
"Turn end." Now, let's see what deck was in that shrine.
"Draw." Takeshi picks up his card and looks over. Wish I had checked it over before the duel. What's Excavate?
That's an old term no one has ever used in decades. Takeshi flinches when he hears Mythran. Excavate is a term used to describe picking up a card from your deck and revealing it to both players. But, the card itself is still treated as part of the deck.
Still part of the...Oh, I get it now. Understanding his deck now, Takeshi holds up a spell card. "I play the spell card Sylvan Charity!"
"Sylvan?"
"This card allows me to draw three cards from my deck, and return two of them to the top of my deck. One of them has to be a Sylvan card," he says before picking up three cards. He then takes two cards, Sylvan Flowerknight Narcis and Bladefender Kenbunsemimaru, and places them in that order on top of his deck. "I now summon the Sylvan Waterflow Leaf!"
Takeshi's first monster of the deck is a plant warrior with a leaf for a head.
Marshalleaf: 1500/1200 (3)
"Leaf's effect allows me to Excavate up to two cards from the top of my deck when normal summoned, and if any of them are plant type monsters I send them to the graveyard."
"Both top cards are those plant guys right, but what's the point?" Chase asks as Takeshi reveals Guardioak and Bladefender before discarding them. The cards then rise up from his grave.
"Sylvan monsters have harvesting effects, so when they're excavated and sent to the grave their effects trigger; first off, the Flowerknight Narcis allows me to place one Syvan card on top of my deck, and I choose the Charity. Kenbunsemimaru then adds himself to my hand." Takeshi performs the actions, and finds himself at an advantage.
"I then set one card and end my turn."
So he's getting the hang of this deck, but he left out a weak monster on the field. "Draw! I will activate Grepher's other effect; by discarding a card I can send another Dark monster from my deck."
Chase discards, and then sends another to the grave. "I then set one card and summon Infernity Demon!"
Infernity Demon: 1800/1200 (4)
"Battle! Infernity Beast will attack Leaf; Hell Howling!" The beast inhales and breathes a stream of flames at Leaf. Takeshi presses a button to activate his facedown, but it fails to activate. Leaf is incinerated.
Takeshi: 7900
"Beast can prevent my opponent from activating traps when it attacks while my hand is at zero," Chase says as the others get ready. "Grepher, Demon, attack!"
The swordsman slashes at Takeshi while the demon sends a burning hand from the skies down upon him.
Takeshi: 4400
"Turn end."
"Draw." Takeshi picks up his card. "I play Sylvan Charity again, drawing three cards and placing two on the deck." This time, he places Bladefender and a trap card on top. "I play Lonefire Blossom."
A single flower blooms onto the field.
Lonefire Blossom: 500/1400 (3)
"I then activate its effect; by tributing this monster I can special summon a Plant type from my deck." The flower wilts, leaving its roots. They grow and expand into a giant tree with a face. "The Sylvan Hermit Tree, Regia."
Regia: 2700/1800 (8)
"You summoned the Great Deku Tree?" This is the first thing Chase could think of looking at it.
"... No." Takeshi bites his lip. "Anyway, Regia's effect activates; by excavating the top card of my deck I can draw one card if it's a Plant monster by sending it to the grave."
Of course it is though. It's gonna be Bladefender. Chase figures as Takeshi sends it to the grave and draws. Bladefender then adds itself to his hand.
"Battle; Regia will attack Infernity Demon!" Roots shoot out from the ground to strike Demon, tearing it apart.
Chase: 7100
"When a monster I control is destroyed by battle, I can special summon this monster from my grave; Infernity Avenger!" Rising up is a hotshot goblin with twin pistols. "And he steals that level."
Infernity Avenger: 0/0 (4)
"I will set one card and end my turn."
"Draw!" Chase looks at his card. "I will tune together Dark Grepher and Avenger!"
Avenger shoots rapidly in the air, forming four Synchro rings. They pass by Grepher as Avenger vanishes. "When the curtain of darkness comes down, the gates to the underworld open up; darkness will swoop down – Synchro Summon, Hundred Eyes Dragon!"
Appearing now is a dragon filled from top to bottom with one hundred eyes.
Hundred-Eyes Dragon: 3000/2000 (8)
"I play Infernity Launcher, and send it to the graveyard to special summon two Infernity monsters from my graveyard; Infernity Demon and Avenger!" His two monsters appear onto the field. "Infernity Demon when special summoned while I have no hand allows me to add an Infernity card to my hand."
"I won't let you; trap card open, Mistake!" A continuous trap card opens up on the field, locking down both of their decks. "This card prevents either player from adding cards to their hands from their decks."
"Crap." Chase removes his hand from his deck. "I then tune together Avenger with Demon and Beast!"
The two monsters fly through the skies. "Between Heaven and Hell, this dragon will arise from the void. Synchro Summon! Void Ogre Dragon!"
VOD: 3000/3000 (8)
"I then activate the effect of Hundred-Eyes Dragon; by banishing a monster from my grave it gains that monster's effect. So I'll banish Infernity Archer that I sent from my deck thanks to Grepher to give it its effect; when my hand is at zero it can attack directly." Hundred-Eyes Dragon takes flight and fires its Infinity Sight Scream at Takeshi.
Takeshi: 1400
"Then, I activate the effect of Infernity Queen from my grave; one monster I control on the field can attack you directly when my hand is at zero. Void Ogre, attack!" The dragon fires at Takeshi, depleting the rest of his life.
Takeshi: 0
Momentum cuts off, and their monsters fade. Takeshi picks up his deck and looks it over. Chase walks over, asking, "Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah..."
Kenbunsemimaru appears and claps his hands. "Not bad. You understand how the deck works, and allot better than I thought."
"But I lost," he replies.
"Of course; you're using a deck that belonged to another." Kenbunsemimaru crosses his arms and glances at Takeshi. "You need to pour your soul into making it, so you can understand it better than anyone else. But so far, you've past the first part. Now you have to train yourself, rebuild this deck in your own image and then you'll be ready to reach your destiny."
"How? I don't have any other cards here."
"That's something you'll have to figure yourself," says Kenbunsemimaru before fading away. "Become one with nature."
Takeshi and Chase watch as he disappear, and the goggle wearing teen dusts off his vest. "You head back to Neo Domino City. I'm staying here for another day."
"What? Where are you gonna stay?"
"I spent the last few days sleeping in dirt and leaves. This is the same." Takeshi walks off further into the forest. "See you later, Chase."
"Weird, but he looks like he knows what he's doing..." Chase heads out of the forest to reach his home. He then stops, feeling a little shocked to let him go. To this, he heads back, shouting, "Wait! Stop!"
"I said I'll be fine." This goes on for a while until Chase eventually becomes convinced he'll be fine.
…
In the ruins of the Duel Monsters world, the figure cloaked in metal walks through them. Up ahead he sees a bonfire chamber beside two yellow pillars and towering soldiers. "Mausoleum of the Emperor... My Alma mater..." He pushes aside his cape and walks up the steps.
Upon reaching the top, he looks down at a solar core resting. He reaches his hand out and releases a stream of lightning at it, causing the orb to grow in strength. "It's been so long old friend, but now it's time for you to rise from the dead. Revive, my false heart!"
Not too far away, the Virus Busters and the two remaining Nightmare Soldiers take shelter at the ruins. After retrieving their monsters Rex peers out from their hiding spot within the mausoleum ruins, seeing and sighing upon realizing no one was following them.
"All clear," he says with a sigh. "We should be safe here for now."
"Let's check the area before letting our guard down. There could be hostile monsters," Malinda says as she helps Claire down.
"Takeshi is on the other end of that black hole," Alexianna says looking up at it. "If we go through that we can find out where he went."
"That's a black hole!" Anna states. "Let's say it does; if we went to the other end, we could end up trapped in who knows where. It might not be good."
"Then, are you saying that we should leave Takeshi behind?!" The Darklord user gives her a dark glare before she grabs Anna's collar.
"He'll be fine," Milla says sitting on the side. Alexianna releases Anna to listen to her. "Mythran went after him, so he'll be fine wherever he is."
Rex looks around. "Oh, that's where he went."
"You know Mythran?" Malinda asks.
"Mythran is the Emissary of Mercy and Death, the Chaos Soldier. His main duty is to protecting the gods of the spirit realm. That's why he went to see Takeshi. He'll be okay, wherever he went," she explains while cleaning her staff.
"But, why there? And why would he protect him?" Kouji asks.
Alexianna looks down, having a good idea of what's going on. Infact, the more she thinks about it, the more obvious it becomes. "Takeshi... He's-"
A pressuring field of energy is released, causing the ruins to shake. Up above in the mausoleum, a towering being appears. They all gape in shock at the monster, and the armored man below. Milla gasps in shock. "It's him... One of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse."
"Horsemen?" Everyone looks up at the man.
"It's the Invader of Darkness, Malicious." Malicious glances down at the humans below.
"I'll handle you all another time." He and his monster vanish.
