I own nothing.
Kurt came slowly awake. Taking a moment for his eyes to adjust to the darkness, he tried to figure out what was going on. He and Finn had left the Empire State Building and had stopped to get something to eat at a nearby steak house. He had teased his brother about the crush he had on Rachel, talked about college and football. Kurt wasn't all that interested in the sport but Finn was he big brother and he had always taken an interest in what Finn liked and vice versa and Finn was getting more and more recognition for his skills on the football field.
After they had finished eating they had parted ways, Kurt assuring Finn that he was alright to get back to Blaine's on his own. The sun had begun to set when Kurt had been just a couple blocks away from West 4th street and had cut through an alley when he had heard his name being called. Turning around he had come face to face with a tall man dressed in a black suit. Kurt had not had much time to react before he was grabbed from behind and sensing what was coming next had struggled all the more and tried to turn his face away towards the street that was only yards away, ready to yell for help but a punch to the stomach winded him and made it possible to knock him out with the chloroform soaked cloth.
Kurt's last thought before everything went black was 'Blaine please help me.'
Blaine looked around the apartment. Everything was in place, Wes was out with his new girlfriend and Sam was out with Mercedes, Rachel, Puck, Vikki and Maria, all that was needed now was for Kurt to get here. He had planned this romantic evening on a spur of the moment for Kurt as the next couple of weeks would be a little hectic as he got ready to go abroad to begin the new three year fashion program. Blaine only hoped that what his parents and everyone else was saying was true, that the time would go by quickly. He dug his phone out of his jeans pocket when the message alert tone sounded and checked the text.
On my way, just leaving the restaurant now - K
OK love. Can't wait to see you. Love you - B
:-* Love u too - K
Blaine had just lit the last candle and was surveying his handy work when a frisson of pure fear almost stopped his heart. He clutched his chest as his heart squeezed painfully and fell to his knees when another sharp pain in his abdomen this time, winded him.
"Kurt…."
The name was barely out of his mouth before his world faded into black.
Sam let himself into the apartment as silently as he could. He had tried to stay out as long as possible because he didn't was to disturb the love birds but it was now about nine o'clock and he had a shoot early in the morning. He tiptoed towards the kitchen intended to get a bottle of water and an apple before confining himself to his room when he was stopped dead in his tracks by an unconscious Blaine on the floor near the dining table.
Rushing over to his best friend's side, Sam took a calming breath when he saw no pool of blood. He gently shook Blaine's shoulder whilst calling out his name. No response. He then called out for Kurt and was greeted with silence. Same pulled out his cell and dialled 911.
Wes saw the flashing lights and EMT van outside his apartment building as he exited the taxi and briefly wondered what was going on. He did not have to wait long to find out as a two EMTs wheeled a stretcher out of the building with Blaine on it and Sam walking next to them, talking on the phone. Wes ran the last remaining feet and grabbed Sam's arm to get his attention.
"Sam? Sam! What is going on?"
Sam ended his call and turned towards the older man.
"Wes, thank God. I don't know. I got home and Blaine was passed out on the floor. When I couldn't rouse him I called for an ambulance."
"What about Kurt? Is he ok?"
"Dunno man. He wasn't in the apartment and there was no sign that he had been."
Wes stopped talking as the ambulance doors were closed and the second EMT climbed into the driver's seat.
"Come on. They are taking him to Tisch."
The two friends raced back inside and took the elevator to the underground parking lot where Sam kept his baby, a sleek silver Cadillac XLR, he had been given for his sixteenth birthday by his late grandfather.
Blaine groggily opened his eyes and stared at the white ceiling above him. Where was he? He turned his head to the side and was met with the sight of a sleeping Denyse Anderson sitting in the chair beside the bed he was laying on.
"Mom?"
Blaine tried to move an groaned at the pain the resulted in the movement. What on earth had happened to him?
Denyse jerked awake at the sound. She sat up straighter when she noticed Blaine looking at her. There had been no signs of physical or internal trauma but the doctors had not been able to determine what exactly was wrong with Blaine and could not explain why he was not waking up. All his tests had come back normal as well.
"Mom where am I? What are you doing here?"
"Blaine! Oh thank God! Are you ok? You're at Ticsh. How do you feel? What the hell happened?"
"I don't know. I feel like I've been in a fight. My abdomen and chest hurt."
"Well there were no signs that you had been in any fights or anything but you were out for a while."
"How long was I out?"
"Well Sam found you on the floor in the apartment around 9 and its now just past one in the morning. I'm going to get the nurse since you're awake."
Denyse got up and walked out the hospital room. After turning the corner towards the nurses station, she finally gave in to the emotions that had been running through here and sagged against the wall letting out a small sob. When Sam had called to say that Blaine had collapsed and was on his way to the hospital she had never felt so scared in her life. Denyse had been scared and worried out of her mind for her youngest son not knowing exactly what was wrong. After a hurried call to her husband she had taken a taxi to the airport and gotten the first available flight to New York all the while praying that Blaine was ok.
"Ma'am are you alright?"
Turning to the petite woman in scrubs, Denyse nodded her head and wiped away her tears.
"I'm fine, just relieved. My son just woke up and I was told to get someone as soon as he did."
"Ok I'll just page the doctor."
"Thank you."
"Mrs Anderson? Is Blaine awake?"
Denyse turned to the two anxious boys who had refused to leave the hospital and Blaine. Smiling she nodded.
"He seems ok just in a little pain. Did you get Kurt?"
Sam shook his head. The blue eyed teen was not answering his phone. When Sam had called Finn, the 20 year old had told him Kurt had left at around 5:30 and had not gone back to the motel where Finn and Puck were staying. Even Rachel and Mercedes couldn't reach the teen and he wasn't at his apartment. Where was Kurt?
Sam knew Blaine was going to ask for his boyfriend and he had no idea what to say to his friend. He had even called Maria who had called Vikki who had called Eli and no one had seen or heard from Kurt. Maria had then checked the Parsons' campus and library and still nothing. Where was Kurt?
Blaine answered all the questions the doctor asked him. No he hadn't hit his head within the last week. No he hadn't been drinking. No he hadn't been in any fights or fallen. But one question was running through his head. Why did he feel so sluggish? The doctor told his mother that they were going to send him for some more tests and if those were fine he could be discharged as they could see nothing physically wrong. As the doctors left Wes and Sam entered the room.
"Hey man. Don't ever scare me like that again. What happened?"
"I don't know. One minute I'm lighting candles waiting for Kurt to arrive and the next I'm in pain and that's all I remember."
Blaine paused and looked round the room. Something was off.
"Guys? Where's Kurt?"
Adam didn't know what to do. He paced the hotel room. As tired as he was he hadn't been able to sleep and it was now 2 a.m. After getting back into the taxi and assuring the poor driver that he was ok, they had finally made it to the hotel. Now Adam was in a state of confusion. Should he call the police? What if it hadn't really been Kurt? Had it really been a kidnapping? Damn! What should he do? He still had Rachel's number but he was sure the girl would ignore his texts or calls if she hadn't already blocked his number. Whatever. Adam decided to chance it.
Mercedes sat with Rachel, Finn and Puck in Kurt's apartment. None of them had been able to sleep and no one said a word, each lost in their own thoughts. Puck and Finn had come to the apartment after the call from Sam.
Finn currently held his cell in his hand. He had been contemplating calling his stepfather but with everything unconfirmed and confusing, he didn't want to worry Burt unnecessarily. They all looked up when Rachel's phone began to ring. Rachel looked at her cell. The number was unknown.
"Hello?"
"Rachel?"
"Yes…Who is this?"
"It's…it's Adam."
"WHAT?! You son of a – "
All eyes were on a clearly angry Rachel. Who was she talking to? Who had called?
"Rachel don't hang up! Please listen!"
"Why the hell should I after what you did t–?"
"Rachel I…I think something happened to Kurt."
Just when you thought that everything was going relatively ok for Klaine...BAM! Something unexpected happens. Where is Kurt? Who has taken him? It also seems that the Blessed One/Chosen One connection has more than strengthened.
