Vacation, OVA Chapter 2

It was Ikaros's chosen birthday, the day she fell from the sky.

"So, what did you get her?" Sohara asked Grim in the hall.

"You'll just have to see for yourself." He said smugly.

She crossed her arms. "It better not be like that last present you bought." She remembered when it was Mikako's birthday party, and everyone gave her lavish gifts, except for him. He gave her fake vomit.

"Don't worry, it's nothing like that!" He clarified. "But it isn't something you would expect."

Also, where's H? I haven't seen him around."

"He's… Setting something up." Grim smirked.

She gave him a look and walked away.

In the living room, a large table of presents replaced the usual table, and a smaller table with cake and ice cream was present. Ikaros and the others wore party hats.

Ikaros stood up from a chair. "Thank you all for today. It has been nice, and have enjoyed the time I have spent with you all." She bowed.

"Sure! Anything for a friend." Mikako said.

"So, who's ready for presents?" Tomoki called.

Ikaros stood up and grabbed a present. It was from Sohara. She opened it to reveal a book. It read "Sohara's Collection Take Two"

"I hope you like it!" Sohara whinnied.

"I do. This is nice of you, Sohara." Ikaros said. She opened the book and looked at the myriad of pictures that were in it. Some were funny, some were serious, but most were of Tomoki and herself.

"That's my favorite picture." Sohara said as she pointed to one of Ikaros and Tomoki holding hands in a boat by the sunset. "I took that one on Tomoki's birthday, after we came back home."

Ikaros smiled. She enjoyed the book very much.

"This is from Oregano and I." Mikako handed her a massive rectangular present.

"Oh?" Ikaros uttered as she hefted it. She opened it. It was a rocket launcher.

"Really? Because that's exactly what we need in this house." Tomoki said under his breath.

"That's where you're wrong, Sakurai-Kun. I merely had it redone to look like a rocket launcher, but it's only a firework launcher. You put the firework into the capsule and watch it blow." Mikako explained.

"Here's mine." Nymph handed her a small box with a blue bow on it.

"Thank you." Ikaros said as she opened it. Inside was an emerald necklace.

"I thought it matched your eyes, so I bought it for you. It's nothing special, but it reminded me of you."

"This is beautiful. Thank you, Nymph." Ikaros smiled. Nymph blushed.

This is from us. Astraea, Chaos, and Hecate handed her a small box. She accepted the gift graciously and opened it. When it was opened, she removed several packets of multicolored watermelon seeds.

"You have no idea how hard those were to find!" Astraea exclaimed. "But they'll look pretty. You can have blue, orange, red, and yellow melons now!"

"And maybe we'll get to taste them!" Chaos added.

"Taste… Them…?" Ikaros looked genuinely distraught.

"Never mind. She was joking." Hecate laughed sheepishly.

Scylla handed her a bag. "Here. I hope you enjoy this!"

Ikaros opened it and pulled out a strange nylon-esque material.

"I know that your wings get heavy when they're wet, so I got some water-proof covers for your wings! Now you can swim to your heart's content! I'm not one for swimming, but you can swim with Tomoki."

"Thank you, Scylla. This is very generous of you. I will use them the next time we swim.." Ikaros put them back in the box and set it aside.

Harpy and Gamma handed her two small tickets with scribbled writing on them.

"Those are slave passes. When you redeem one, we have to do whatever you say for a whole twenty four hours! Isn't that great?" Gamma asked.

"Yes. These are very thoughtful. I'm not sure when I would use them, though." Ikaros said.

"Oh, well, when you decide to use them, it's up to you." Harpy said.

"So, is that all the presents?" Tomoki questioned suspiciously.

"I suppose. Kind of disappointing her own boyfriend didn't bother to get anything." Mikako said slyly. "As well as the rest of the boys."

Tomoki stood up triumphantly from his seat. "You have no idea. To the outside!"

Once everyone shuffled outside, Tomoki nodded at the other guys. They lined up with Tomoki in the middle. They all had their heads held high.

"So… What's the surprise?" Nymph inquired.

"You'll see." Charybdis said.

"Yeah, it took a while to get, so hang in there." Tartarus chimed in.

"Yup. We spent nearly three months working on this project. And it was all Tomoki's idea!" Thanatos added.

Tomoki blushed. "Aww, guys…"

"H should be bringing it around any minute now." Sugata said.

A few minutes passed. No H in sight.

"Tomoki… Is this just some lousy way of saying you got Ikaros nothing on her special day?" Sohara's purple aura was unusually strong.

"N-No! It's not like that, H is running late!" Tomoki put his hands in the air.

Sohara seized him by his collar and lifted him up, bringing his face directly to her's.

"You're her boyfriend, right? I don't see a present. That's just cheap. So, now you'll have to pay... With blood!" She raised her chop with righteous glory. Tomoki could only cower.

Out of nowhere, a random horn blared. A broken down bus pulled up on the road with H's head stuck out the window as he gave the rock and roll hand gesture.

"An hour of bullcrap traffic and getting a driver's license was all it took to get this beauty home and ready!" H said passionately as he stroked the side of the rusty bus.

"See!?" I told you I wasn't cheap! They helped me buy this golden chariot!" He said proudly.

"I-I don't think that's gold. I think that's rust." Oregano offhandedly said.

Sohara let go of Tomoki and gaped at the bus. "Tomoki… You and the others bought Ikaros… A nasty bus?" Her purple aura reformed.

Tomoki brushed himself off. "No. It's what's in the bus that counts. The bus is only the segway that will get us to the gift." He looked offended.

H gestured for everyone else to enter the vehicle. He opened up the squeaky sliding door and patted the leather steering wheel.

Several pamphlets were neatly laid on every torn up seat.

Ikaros picked up a pamphlet and read it carefully. She blinked three times before realizing what it was.

"P-Paris? Master..." She hugged Tomoki lovingly.

"Tomoki! Paris is lovely! It's really nice of you to do this!" Sohara exclaimed.

"Well, don't thank just me. Grim and his band helped with the money, H got a driver's license, and Sugata booked us at a fancy hotel when we get there!" Tomoki smiled, still in Ikaros's embrace.

"So, who's up for a little trip to the city of love!?" Grim announced. Everyone cheered.

"Okay, pack your bags, we leave in three hours!" Tomoki ordered.

-oOo-

Three hours passed, and after putting a massive pile of luggage into the trunk of the ancient bus, everyone piled in to it, with H at the wheel. He honked a few times and stepped on the pedal, causing the machine to sputter to life and lurch forward, taking off.

H turned on the radio.

"Aww, man, I forgot. This is an american bus." He turned on the rock station, playing Bon Jovi's "Livin on a prayer".

"It's fine…" Grim said. He started singing along, choppy as it was.

Tomoki guffawed. "I didn't know you could speak English!"

Grim returned to Japanese. "All angeloids can. It's just a speech operator running its course."

"That's pretty cool! I guess we have someone to speak for us when we get to France!" Sohara said.

"Ah, I forgot to mention. We're gonna have to drive all the way to Tokyo. The plane that leaves for France is there." H said.

Everyone groaned.

"Don't worry! It'll be fun." H said with a smirk. He jerked the wheel to the left, then the right, which caused everyone to be thrown around the seats like pinballs.

Tomoki landed in Mikako's lap. She grinned.

"Woops." He said sheepishly. Ikaros grabbed him by his leg and dragged him to her seat, staring at Mikako.

H laughed. "C'mon, that was fun!"

"You made me spill my rice crackers on the floor!" Astraea whined. She picked them up and ate them anyway.

-oOo-

After a long and painful few hours on the bus, they finally arrived at the airport.

"We made it with just enough time to get to the plane." Tomoki sighed.

"Perfect! Now, how does this conveyor belt work?" Grim asked.

"Put your luggage on it and it'll get put on the plane!" Sohara answered.

"Alright, now where did I put my- now wait… Where is it!?" H scrounged the floor for his lost luggage.

Grim joined in the search. "C'mon, I even had you prepack it! No!" He looked mortified.

"W-What's wrong?" Sohara cried.

Grim and H stared at her in disbelief. "W-We left our pack of root beer. At home…" H moaned.

Nymph flicked Grim in the ear. "It's not that big of a deal, you know!"

"It's a huge deal!" H flicked her back. She glared.

Tomoki was about done with all the nonsense. "Can we just get on the plane already!? Sometimes I wish I had my peace and quiet back!" He stormed to the attendant who would take their boarding passes. Ikaros followed closely behind.

After Grim and H settled down, they boarded the plane and sat down together, with Thanatos in the third seat.

-oOo-

Several hours passed, and the gang arrived in the Paris National Airport. They gathered their things and left the building.

"Woah. They have baguette vendors!" Tartarus murmured.

"Do you want some?" Scylla handed him some money. "Why don't you go buy a few slices!"

"Okay!" He gladly took the money and bounded towards the vendor.

Charybdis and Tomoki were talking amongst themselves, and all of a sudden, a flying baget smacked Charybdis squarely in the face. A few feet away, a laughing Tartarus gripped another baguette and lobbed it at Hecate, hitting her in the rear.

"Hey!" She squealed.

Charybdis swiftly snatched a baguette, and Tartarus did likewise. They circled each other, holding the bagets like swords. Charybdis made a lunge, and baguettes went flying in all different directions. Sohara entered the scuffle and chopped them both hard in the head before dragging them off by their shirt collars. Tomoki gripped the bridge of his nose with pure disgust, though he secretly found it pretty funny.

-oOo-

After a long day of travel and bribery, Tomoki managed to score a few low rent hotel rooms. Ikaros, Tomoki, Chaos, and Tartarus shared a room.

"Now that Master has calmed down the others, maybe I can have some time with him." Ikaros told Chaos.

"Yeah, but good luck. It seems Tomo-San is a magnet for trouble." She warned.

"That is true." Ikaros looked downcast.

"You'll get your chance. I believe in you!" Chaos exclaimed before sprung away.

Ikaros sat up from her chair and strided to the bathroom, where Tomoki was taking a shower. She knocked on the door, but there was no answer. She opened the door and said. "Master, are you alright?"

He was caught off guard and dropped the shampoo bottle, spilling it. "Ikaros! What do you want!?" Only his silhouette could be seen through the curtain.

"I wish to spend time with you." She purred.

"Yeah, sure, we'll spend time together. But not now! I'm trying to clean myself!" He shouted.

Despite knowing she shouldn't, she let her few emotions get the best of her. She opened the curtain and saw Tomoki in all his glory, unblinking, unfazed.

He shrieked and cowered in a corner. "Ikaros! Why are you trying to humiliate me!"

"I wanted to see your face."

"You've seen it! Please, not right now!" He bonked her on the head and pushed her out of the room, slamming the door behind her. She resumed her spot on the bed, thinking about her beloved Master.

The next day, Ikaros had planned to visit the Eiffel Tower with only Tomoki.

They walked through the large park that surrounded it before scaling the Tower to the restaurant within it.

"This is nice, Ikaros." Tomoki said happily. She smiled slightly.

Before another word was spoken, five large forms appeared from the sky and floated in a formation. The people in the restaurant freaked out and fled the scene.

"Tomoki. We have come to retrieve you. Our leader wishes for your presence." It was Grim and the guys, all in battle forms.

"I'm busy! Later." Tomoki said.

Thanatos seized Tomoki from his seat and threw him into the sky. Miraculously, a helicopter picked him up.

Mikako poked her head out of the cockpit. "Thanks for your help, boys. Much appreciated. She threw down a root beer bottle, which they fought over like feral dogs. The helicopter flew away out of sight.

"You have ruined it." Ikaros started to tear.

"W-What?" H asked.

"You have ruined my chance to be with Master. A chance will most likely not come back up to spend quality time with him." She dropped her head in distress.

"Jeez, Ikaros. We meant no harm. Mikako was gonna start up a game or something, one where no guys can compete, or whatever." Grim said. "I'm really sorry."

"Sorry can not help. I understand." She started to fly away, but H grabbed her arm. "I got a plan, guys." H smirked.

"I know what you're thinking, buddy." Grim grinned.

All five of the guys stood behind Ikaros in a flashy formation.

"We'll be… Your wingmen!" H said. "We'll make it up to you by helping you win the competition. You know what the prize is, right?" He asked.

"No, I do not." She said.

"You get deemed the most important female role in this whole fanfiction!"

Ikaros cocked her head. "But I already am. This has been established."

"Exactly. So we're just gonna help you prove it! You could be, like, alpha female!" Charybdis pumped his fist.

-oOo-

Ikaros stood among the other female characters, waiting for Mikako's announcement.

She finally made an entrance, appearing with a long purple kimono on.

"Alright, girls. No boys can participate in this one. I've had my men hide Tomoki somewhere in the city of Paris. The goal is to find him. If you succeed, you must take him back here. That is how you win. There are no rules and no limitations. Good luck!" With that, she fired a gun into the night sky. All the girls scattered.

Sorry for the blatant cliff hanger, but this chapter was getting way too long for its own good. Anyway, I think the next chapter will be my last for this, as it's starting to drag a little longer than it should. Anyway, thanks for reading!
