Finding Family

"So, Kurt." Kurt sighs as he shifts on his bed, watching Adam approach. "I was wondering if we could talk before I returned to civilization."

Kurt chuckles. "I bet you're happy that you can finally leave. I'm unfortunately still stuck with loud mouth one and two."

"Well that is bad." Adam smiles as he joins Kurt on his bed. "But it was bearable since I spent most of my time with you and not alone with them."

Kurt smiles before before leaning towards the boy. "So what's up?"

Adam glances down on the bed as he licks his lips. "So the last time that we actually had a talk, you mentioned that you were unsure of where you stood with your boyfriend." His eyes glance up to meet Kurt's. "But Santana said that you two slept together when you went home. So . . . where are you two with each other?"

Kurt lets out a shaky breath, having hoped that he wouldn't have to have this conversation with anyone. "We are . . . back together. Kurt starts off slowly, cringing as Adam's smile weakens. "We're starting off like we're dating again, making sure we work on the mistakes that almost made us break-up so it doesn't happen again."

"So . . . so you and I-"

"I love having you as a friend, Adam." Kurt smiles.

"I love having you as a friend too." Adam repeats, but his smile doesn't return. "I guess I waited too long."

Kurt sighs before he looks to the floor where Adam set his bag down. "Do you want me to take you home?"

"I'll be fine." Adam looks back to Kurt. "The only people on the subway now should be some college students, so I'll be fine."

"Well if you're sure." Kurt mutters as they both stand up.

Adam goes to say something, but Kurt leans forward and gives the boy a half-hug. Adam hesitates before hugging Kurt back. Kurt sighs into the boys hug, missing his boyfriends even more so now that he has another guy in his arms.

"Thank you for staying." Kurt mutters as he pulls away. "It would have been torture otherwise."

"Well I was kind of stuck here." Adam teases. "But you're welcome, love."

Kurt smiles before he starts to lead Adam to the front door. "So I'll see you Monday for coffee? Same time?"

"I'll wait for you outside of your class." Adam nods.

"Just kiss already." Santana yells from the couch from where she and Rachel are running on no energy.

"Just bite me." Kurt sneers at Santana as he and Adam reach the front door, sliding it open. "Text me later." He mutters so Santana can't listen in.

"Of course, love." Adam smiles on last time before he steps out and makes his way from their apartment.

Kurt growls as he slides the door shut and turns to glare at the giggling girls. "Do you guys ever mind your own privacy?"

"Never." Santana answers with pride.

"Not when that nice arm candy is here." Rachel giggles as she plays with her hair.

Kurt rolls his eyes before he makes his way to the kitchen. "Start thinking of what you want. I'm not waiting another day for real food. I am tired of eating noodles."

Kurt would listen to the girls discuss what they want, but his phone goes off. He pulls it out and barely glances at the name before he puts the phone to his ear. He's met with the sound of muffled talking before Jake's voice comes through.

"Sorry about that. I was talking to Marley." Jake apologizes.

"No problem." Kurt smiles as he puts the phone between his ear and shoulder so he can see what they need to stock up on in the kitchen.

"And hey, you answered." Jake sounds surprised. "You haven't been answering these past few days."

"Well our power kept going on and off so we were keeping our phones off to conserve the power. Thank god it's on today though." Kurt sighs with relief.

"Has it stopped snowing?" Jake asks.

"Yep." Kurt grins. "What about you guys? Did you get any snow?"

"Nope." He can hear Jake frown.

"Oh well." Kurt shrugs. "So how'd your competition thingy go? Sorry I couldn't get back to you with a list of songs."

"It's fine. We did good on our own." Jake states with pride. "But it was pointless since Schue said that we're all winners."

Kurt snorts. "That is lame. Send me some footage of the performances and I'll tell you who won."

Jake chuckles. "I don't think there is any, and it's fine. We all had fun doing that mash-ups."

"Well that's good." Kurt mutters as he shuts the last of the cabinets. "But I must bid you a farewell for now because my stomach calls for food."

"Alright." Jake sighs. "Oh, how'd things go with British guy?"

Kurt rolls his eyes. "It's none of your business."

"I know." Jake chuckles. "But it's annoying you so I know something must be going on."

Kurt shakes his head. "The only thing that is happening is that I'm hanging up now. Bye."

"Bye." Jake laughs into the phone before Kurt hangs up.

Kurt sighs before he picks the pad of paper up from the counter and makes his way back into the living room as he pockets his phone. "Alright guys." He tosses the pad and it lands on the living room table. "Write down what you want and I'll see if it's affordable."

"Come on, Kurt." Rachel giggles. "Lets celebrate not being in the snow anymore. Lets pig out."

"You just want all that food in you so you have enough energy in you to keep what's his face interested." Santana mumbles.

Kurt chuckles before he flops down in the armchair. "Just write it down. I don't want to risk another snowstorm coming through and us having to eat Rachel."

"Hey!" Rachel frowns.

Santana snorts before she grabs the pad of paper. "Better by tons of seasoning because she will taste bad."

Sorry for the extremely late chapter guys. Hopefully, I can get the rest of the chapters posted before the end of the month. Also, this story will end with Season 4. I can't see it going much more beyond that. So let me know what you think. :)
