Jane

They arrived slowly, ambling majestically through the trees on the correct path to the Cullen house. I watched, frozen ready to face those who had taken me in.

"My dear Jane," Aro smiled at me, as he pulled the Guard to halt, "how lovely to see you again. Why do you come alone?"

"I wanted to speak with you."

"Well my child, do speak." he held out his palm to me, ready to be grabbed. I took just a deep breath before taking his hand in mine.

I'd opened Aro up to my memories many times before, but now as they flashed in front of me as well, I felt every emotion created by them well up inside me. I felt the anger and fear when I first met the wolves, the first time I encountered Paul and the many times after. I saw my care for him well up over time and I finally understood that hiding how I felt was pointless.

I saw my friendship with Wisty, I saw the Cullens distrust of me… I saw it all. I was such a horrible person, a person who did such sadistic things, like with that mountain climber when I was so angry and my emotions were out of control. It was like watching a child.

Effectively I was child, I had never grown up the way I should have. My body was so young, my mind so old and yet.. I saw the love in Paul's eyes through memory after memory. Aro saw it too.

I could no longer hide the sadness welling up in my breast as I thought of Paul now dying on the Cullen's couch; I needed to hrt something.

Finally my hand slid from his touch. His smile only grew. He turned to each of his brothers, and then started to chuckle. It was a confusing reaction but I stayed silent.

"Jane…" he said quietly, eyes crinkled in his amusement. "You have surpassed any expectations I would have, you being all on your own. How did you not kill Felix?"

"I… pardon?" I forgot he would see that too.

"I sent him here because I knew and predicted exactly how he would react to you, and I expected you to be rid of him. It would have been a pleasant surprise."

I was in complete awe. He only chuckled some more and held out his hands. "My dear one, bring me what I was promised. Call to them."

"I-"

"There's no need. I'm here, I'm what you want right, you're own personal Alice." I turned sharply to the voice and saw Wisty.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed as she stepped up next to me.

"Being your friend. You have no idea what you've done by showing him everything at once."

"You are my psychic I presume. Come show me my future." Aro once again ignored my altercation with Wisty and simply held out his palm again.

"It doesn't work that way."

"What way would that be?"

Paul

"Are you crazy?" Seth shouted at me as I tried to stand.

"I have to get to her." My whole body was a furnace and my legs shook as I stood there. It had taken five minutes for me to even stand up. "Seth, she's going to destroy herself. Wisty just went to save her, why won't you help me?"

"Because you're dying, Paul."

"I DON'T FUCKING CARE. HELP ME!"

Jane

"So not seeing things, more like a feeling. How precise is that?" Caius scorned at her.

"Well I can tell how long someone's heart is supposed to be for, but when it comes to vampires I can see when exactly you'll be turned to ash. You want to know how soon that is?" she was inching closer to him and as I knew Caius, he was itching set the Guard on her so I took it upon myself to pull her back.

"She can see your path in life based on your actions and feelings, which is far more accurate than what Alice can do. She can also do this by will, I found you an excellent one."

"And what about my wolves, Jane?" Aro's smile grew even wider as he asked this and I couldn't help wanting to grimace.

"We're here too." Now Wisty and I both turned and saw Seth carrying Paul.

"Why did you bring him?" she shouted running to help. I could only stare.

Paul looked… so weak. When his eyes caught mine there was no light in them, but Seth caught my attention when he stepped forward to address Aro.

"I'm what you want, right? In my prime?" he promptly shifted letting out an almighty growl. Some of the guard crouched and hissed but Aro held his ground.

Aro simply mused up at him, "Remarkable." then he looked at Paul, all his weight falling onto Wisty. "And the other?"

"He can't stand after your test." Wisty spat, helping Paul sit down on the ground. I could hardly handle what was unraveling.

Then the whole Cullen coven showed up. They split into two groups, Carlisle, Esme and Rosalie helped Paul and the rest came to stand behind me, bringing Wisty with them.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed at them too.

"Helping you." he answered. "I doubt you know what he's thinking. If you've done what Alice said you would do, he should not be like this in your eyes right?"

"Excuse me!" Caius shouted, "But what test are you referring too?"

I turned to him and glared, and he actually flinched which was a surprise. "The test that my brother performed."

"Brother, what does she speak of?"

In that moment I realized this was something Aro had done all on his own. Just as I did he came up to me at vampire speed looking straight into my eyes.

"My dear one, do you remember your father?"

I backed up a step, still confused, "What are you talking about?"

"The father that came home angry, knocking your brother unconscious and sending you into the woods. The one that treated you and your brother like servants?"

"How… how did you-"

"I saved you from those wolves, your father and reunited you with your lovely dark haired sibling." After saying this he looked in Alec's direction as he stepped up next to me. "Did you think I just happened upon that tiny pathetic little town?"

"He didn't." Alec said aloud, face impassive.

"I knew you would get over your fear because you are a Guard and you have responsibilities, but fear as well as hatred almost always equates to love."

"I don't love-"

"Hush." he placed a hand on my lips, "Love is a powerful tool. after hearing about the Alphas and the lack of wolf volunteers, I knew I had made the right choice sending you."

"You couldn't have planned all this?" Caius shouted behind him.

"Indeed brother. I'm fiendish that way." he once again stepped back into the ranks. "But I hear you have figured out another way for them to be handled by us."

"We have." Paul coughed out. We all turned to him and Carlisle helping him stand up again. "They will shun us from the pack."

"We will not." Someone else said, coming into the group.

These were the wolves.

Everything really had gotten out of hand.
