Chapter 26

Emily and JJ were on their way to Quantico's newest hospital, a building annex near the Hoover building where Hotch and the boys were actually kept for their safety.

"So, Patty Foyet had a baby with James and that was the stresser." JJ began.

Emily nodded as she looked ahead of the road. "Yes, it was a shocker for the sisters."

"That family was borne of sadness and tragedy." JJ pronounced sadly.

"Hopefully they received some psychiatric help behind bars."

Emily's phone rang, it was Chili informing them the VA PD found James Foyet's body in the holding cell a few minutes ago, he had strangled himself with the bed sheets; earlier, he had confessed that when Patty was ten, he raped her because he had fallen in love as well. She became pregnant and while giving birth, George found out and became enraged and killed the baby, a boy who was born prematurely.

Heartbroken, Patty took her life.

James did not know about Patty or the baby deaths. George had told him the cops had found out he was the one who killed their father and were on their way to arrest him. George gave him some money and told him never to return home again.

The sisters, devastated by the loss of Patty and the baby, decided to move and settled in Virginia where they found employment in the hospital where they were currently working until one day James suddenly appeared.

He told his mother and aunt that he had seen Patty and he wanted to come back and reunite with Patty.

Mary and Louise told him that Patty was dead, and they told him about the baby.

James went crazy, demanded to know what happened. He didn't believe his own brother was capable of doing this! He loved Georgie! And he loved Patty! In his mind, they were still alive.

James left but came back a few years later, this time he asked them for help.

"What kind of help?" They had asked previously.

"James Foyet wanted his son back." Louise said.

"But he's dead, Foyet killed him. He killed his own nephew."

Emily nodded sadly, "James was in shock, and didn't understand he was dead and in denial. He thought that taking the hearts of the boys at the hospital would get his son back."

"That is one twisted way of thinking."

Emily received another phone call, this time it was from the Virginia Police. She was on the phone for some time before she hung up and related the following to JJ;

"Virginia PD found James Foyet's second house and the bodies of the missing boys matching to the missing hearts." Emily related to JJ. "Mary and Louise had been taking the boys and James Foyet took the hearts out, he was the one that mailed them to Garcia, Reid and Blake. They found a fourth one in a box, addressed to me in their living room.

JJ shook her head, "That is one screwed up family."

"I know, very sad one as well. I feel sorry for them, all of them. Mary and Louise only have each other now."

"Yeah. The abuse they had suffered in the hands of their father."

They sighed together, "I for one, am glad to close this case." Emily uttered.

"Amen to that, sister." They reached out and high five happily.

"Now, you can tell Hotch how you feel." JJ grinned.

Emily frowned, "What are you talking about?"

"Oh, don't give me this denial, chicka!" She held out a hand, palm out. "I …Garcia and I saw the two of you…more than chummy. So please spare me the details and admit it. I think you two did the deed."

Emily opened her mouth but closed it immediately as she grinned, "All right, I admit it, we did."

JJ screamed out loud in the SUV, Emily laughed as she watched her best friend pummeled her arm, "Oh my god! Watch it Jayje! I'm driving! I'd like to get to the hospital in one piece!" She laughed as she concentrated on the road.

"Okay, okay, you're right." JJ held her hands up. "You're gonna make some god-babies for me and Garcia! And I want a bunch of them!" She laughed again. "Wait until I tell that woman!" She pounded the dashboard with joy. "Oh my god! All these times, you two! I can't believe it!"

"Well, you know," Emily reasoned with a wide smile, "We couldn't make it happen before because of our positions...his was my boss, yada, yada, yada. Now we are equals, so it's okay." She grinned.

JJ stopped smiling for a moment, "But what about Beth Clemmons?"

Emily shook her head, "Finito! She called the other day and told Aaron that she's moving to New York, she wants him and Jack to move with her but you know the BAU is Aaron's baby."

They were walking along the hospital corridor towards Hotch's room when they heard talking.

JJ and Emily exchanged glances, "Wonder what's going on?"

"Must be Jessica…she must have brought Jack to see Aaron."

JJ frowned, "But did you call Jessica and give her the all-clear?"

Emily's brows deepened as she shook her head, "No…I didn't."

Both agents' hands moved to their holsters as they walked quietly to the door and listened.

"…Aaron, you must come with me right now, Virginia is not safe anymore. I mean, look at you!"

"Beth, I'm fine."

"I know but I worry about you so much, Aaron."

"Beth…"

"Shh…don't say anything. Not another word."

"Beth…"

"Aaron, I love you. I have never stopped loving you. Don't you love me?"

"I…"

"It's okay, I know you love me in your own ways and remember what we talked about before? We were going to start a family. I want lots of kids. Little brothers or sisters for Jack, he'll love it. And…and, it's okay if we stay here in Virginia. I know your work here is important to you, Aaron. We'll talk about it more when you get better."

"Beth…before…"

"Shh…don't speak, remember what the doctor said? You must rest. I'll be here waiting for you. Just close your eyes, my dearest."

Emily turned away from the room and walked on.

JJ went after her, "Emily! You can't believe that! Em!"

"You just heard it."

"I did but it was only Beth who said it. Hotch didn't say anything back to her."

Emily stopped on her tracks and faced her friend, "She came back. How did she know where he's at?" She turned away from JJ and kept walking.

JJ was at a lost; Emily was right, the only people who knew the whereabouts of Hotch's location was the BAU.

Just then, Emily's phone rang, "Prentiss."

"Boss, we found Section Chief Strauss and Agent Rossi." Chili and Garcia announced at the same time.

"What about Isabelle?"

There was a pause before either answered, "I'm sorry boss, she's not in the vehicle."

Emily closed her eyes for a moment before she opened them, JJ was in front of her by then. "We're on our way, please let the others know."

"Roger that, they will meet you there." Chili nodded. "Be safe."

"Emily!" JJ called out to her. "What about Hotch?"

Emily climbed into the SUV, "What about him?"

"You're not going to see him?"

Ignoring JJ, Emily turned on the ignition and strapped on the seat belt. JJ shook her head as she hopped in as well, "I guess not. Stubborn as usual."

"I don't beg." Emily muttered as she drove out of the hospital. "And I don't take someone's leavings."

"I'm not saying anything. You could be wrong."

"I'm seldom wrong, Jayje." Emily looked ahead of her. "Right now, our priorities are Section Chief Strauss, Dave, and most especially Isabelle."

JJ nodded, "You're right. What's been done at this point?"

"Not a lot, CETaF is trying to ping on Tedda."

"Tedda?" JJ turned to stare at her. "What is a Tedda?"

Emily grinned, "Tedda is Isabelle's teddy bear. We placed a GPS tracking device in him a couple days ago but we're running interference. CETaF is having a field day trying to pinpoint Tedda exact location. It seems whoever wants her is determined to shake us. They know we're on to her and him or them." She sighed in frustration as she gripped the steering wheel tightly.

"Don't give up hope, Em. She's relying on you…us. We're her only hope."

Emily nodded, "You're right, JJ, I promise her I won't let anything happen to her."

"You shouldn't have…"

Emily grasped JJ's arm, "I promised her, Jayje and I always keep my promise." Before she released it and continued on.
