When everything's wrong, I will still be around
When they returned upstairs, Jackson was leaving the room and probably heading back to the bayou. "It seems I owe you yet again," the werewolf told the two vampires.
Talia gave him a hug, "No problem, go home and get some rest before the full moon." He nodded and brushed passed Elijah.
"I understand he risked his life to save his friend," Elijah stated. "He's a good man." Talia smiled secretly thinking maybe Jackson had managed to win Elijah's approval for Haley.
"Yes he is," Haley agreed turning to the window. "There's something I need to tell the both of you." Talia and Elijah shared a look before Haley took a deep breath and turned back to them. "My family wanted…I was supposed to be betrothed to Jackson." Talia's eyebrows shot up; she'd liked Jackson and appreciated his protectiveness of Haley but now she wondered if it was because of the betrothal. "I should've told you sooner, I just didn't know how, it's this insane custom-"
"You don't need to explain anything," Elijah assured her. "I understand the need to make sacrifices for one's family."
"God can you two just not be so understanding for once. I just told you that I'm betrothed to someone by these backwater people I've never met. Tell me it's stupid. Tell me I have a choice!" Haley's rant was suddenly cut off by Talia.
"Haley!" the pregnant werewolf stared at the blue eyed vampire. "Tell me what do you want?"
Haley sighed, "I don't know."
"Do you have feelings for him?" Haley nodded just barely. "Do you think he returns those feelings or do you believe he is only acting this way because of the betrothal?" The werewolf just shrugged. "Then you need to talk to him about this, take a chance. Because if you don't take a chance for love, you'll regret it."
Haley nodded and hugged Talia, "Thank you, I'll talk to him when this is all over." With that the three of them exited the room and met Genevieve as she began to perform the spell.
Suddenly Francesca rushed in, "My people say Marcel is on the move and he's bringing friends."
Klaus looked up at Talia and Elijah, "Get Haley to safety."
Elijah nodded, "Come with me."
"No," Haley said firmly before nodding to Genevieve. "Someone needs to watch her."
"You should help Klaus," Francesca told the Original. "My brothers and their security detail won't be much against a vampire army."
"Go, Elijah, I'll stay with Haley and Francesca, I'll keep them both safe," Talia said causing the Original to look down into her blue eyes. "And don't hold back."
He quickly kissed her before exiting the room.
A few moments later Talia grew worried about how the brothers were doing and turned to Haley, "I'll be right back." She quietly crept out to the balcony to look into the courtyard. There were so many vampires, Marcel's nightwalkers, surrounded Elijah and Klaus.
"I thought this lot would've learnt their lesson," Klaus told his brother.
"Well their not exactly renowned for their genius," Elijah responded. Talia grinned at his quip, even in the face of an army they showed no fear.
"So where's the ringleader of this circus?" Klaus questioned the crowd of bloodthirsty vampires. "Too afraid to show his face?"
Marcel appeared on one of the lower balconies, "I'm here. I'm gonna offer you one last chance…to pack your stuff and get the hell out of my town."
Talia rolled her eyes as Klaus glared at Marcel, "You'll allow your men to rush to their deaths, again?"
"Look around, every vampire in the Quarter is coming out, with the exception of your little Talia. They want their city back. No surrender this time. You gonna have to kill us all," Marcel continued.
"Okay," Klaus agreed. "I think I'll start with you."
Marcel shrugged, "Fine, come get me," before zipping off out of the compound.
"If you don't kill him I will," Elijah promised his brother.
"He's mine," Klaus insisted. "This won't take long." They hybrid disappeared in a flash and Elijah surveyed the army of vampires.
The ever noble Original unbuttoned his suit jacket, "Gentlemen, shall we?"
Talia had never seen Elijah in a fight like this before and damn was he hot like this. He'd taken on three or more vampires at a time and dispatch them easily, she was sure he'd fight his way out of this one and things would probably get more interesting once Klaus returned. Assured she returned to Haley, Francesca, and Genevieve. "I think they've got it well in hand," she assured the woman as Genevieve continued to chant.
A few minutes later one of Francesca's security guys showed up, "Ms. Corerra, we need to leave. Your brothers are already headed out the back."
She waved him off, "Not yet."
Haley's phone started buzzing but she ignored it just as Genevieve stopped chanting. "The stones are finished," she announced picking one up and studying it. "I've done my part, now it's up to you."
"I'll get them to the bayou," Haley stated.
Talia nodded, "I'll drive you."
"Actually, she was talking to me," Francesca claimed as she outstretched her hand and Genevieve dropped one of stones into her palm.
"What the hell is this?" Haley demanded.
"Call it a side deal," Francesca suggested. "Point is I'm taking the stones."
"Are you out of your mind, you think the humans can go up against Klaus and Elijah?" Talia asked, questioning this woman's mental faculties.
"Oh I don't, but I'm not human," Francesca drew a knife and slashed her security guard's neck. She bent over for a moment as if in pain before straightening, her eyes glowing yellow. Francesca was a werewolf. "I'm like you, Haley. And now I'm going to take back my town."
"Like hell you are!" Haley growled starting for Francesca but froze when Genevieve raised her hand.
Talia's eyes widened in shock and horror as she watched Haley go down.
Genevieve took a step toward the unconscious wolf before being sent flying by Talia. "Stay away from her!" the vampire growled but before she could think Francesca grabbed her and bit down on her neck.
Talia screamed and tried to fight her off with her vamp strength but couldn't. Then, summoning all her willpower she flung Francesca out the door.
"Get the hell out of my house!" Talia shouted as she closed the door with her powers.
She turned back to find Genevieve carrying Haley out of the room. The redhead witch's eyes narrowed at her and a burst of pain erupted in Talia's brain. She sank to her knees grasping her head in a futile attempt to lessen the pain.
"I'm sorry, Talia," the witch whispered before leaving the room. The raven haired vampire sucked in a shuddering breath and forced herself off the floor and followed after her friend and the witch.
She managed to find them heading down the back stairway to meet Monique and a few of the other witches. The young Harvest girl noticed her and raised her hand. The pain in Talia's head increased and she collapsed as it sapped at her strength. When it finally ended, the young vampire looked up to find Haley and the witches gone.
"Elijah," Talia breathed heavily as she pulled herself to her feet and reentered the compound. Down in the courtyard Elijah was with Marcel and Cami surrounded by vampires covered in wolf bites. "Elijah! The witches took Haley," she informed him.
In a flash he was up the stairs and standing next to her on the balcony.
"What happened?" he demanded.
"It was Francesca, she's a werewolf and she made a deal with Genevieve for the stones in exchange for something, Haley, I think. Genevieve knocked Haley out but before I could do anything she used her magic on me. I tried to follow but Monique showed up and nearly knocked me unconscious."
Elijah then noticed the blood on her neck and grabbed her chin turning it to the side. His eyes widened considerably as he noticed the bite. Talia hissed softly at the pain coming from the mark. "You've been bitten."
"Francesca got the drop on me when I tried to protect Haley from Genevieve," Talia explained noticing the bites on Elijah as well. "Looks like they got you too."
"We need to find Niklaus."
The blue eyed girl shook her head, "No, we need to find Haley, stop the witches, and then we need to fix what Francesca has done to the vampires."
Elijah's brown eyes narrowed at her, "You could die."
"No faster than any of those other vampires down there. I have time." Elijah opened his mouth to argue more but Talia cut him off. "I love Haley like a sister and I will do everything in my power to save her and the baby! This is family Elijah, we have to do what we must."
Talia could tell by Elijah's expression that she'd won. "Very well but the moment we find Niklaus, we will get that bite taken care of."
*15 years later*
My jaw hit the floor, "Oh my God!"
Talia nodded, "Yeah, came as a surprise to us too."
"Did you guys find Haley? Did you stop the witches and that bitch Francesca?"
"Well..."
