New chapter, woot woot!
Chapter twenty-six
Once at the hotel, and everyone was settled in their rooms, I spread open my arms and fell back on the queen size bed in one swift motion.
Ahh, now this was the life!
With the Guardian Characters out exploring, and Rima out on a walk with Nagi, I had the room alone with just Yaya which was okay with me.
Laying there lazily on the bed that was left unclaimed by Yaya and Rima, I snuggled into the bedspreads, though my comfort didn't last long. Bursting through the door with hands full of snacks and a large duffel bag, a cute guy with short choppy black hair entered the room while the boys followed close behind.
"Sup," he casually said while plopping down the stuff before stretching to pop his back.
"Uh," Yaya said just as lost as I was.
"This is Hinari's cousin, Renji," Tadase stated, answering my question before I had the chance to open my mouth.
"Whose up for some video games," he asked moving to set up a game system to our tv while tossing out some game cases on the nearest end table.
I moved to prop myself up on my elbows when Ikuto plopped down on the bed beside me, putting his hands behind his head and leaning quite lazily against the head of the bed.
"How's the guys room?" I asked under my breath when he glanced in my direction.
He shrugged then moved to lay on his side, pulling me closer so he could lay on me.
What am I now, a portable pillow?
"noisy," he said with a yawn, closing those gorgeous blue eyes I love so much.
"Huh," I uttered looking up when a game controller was tossed in my lap by an excited Yaya, mumbling with a cookie in her mouth while hopping up and down in her seated position.
"Lets play, Amu-chi!"
I could feel a sweatbead form as I stared down at the controller like it was some alien technology. I would never admit it, since it's not like my outer character, but I had never picked up a video game before. What if I made a fool of myself?
Maybe Ikuto could sense my hesitation, because he lightly moved to sit up some, taking the controller from my hands before I made myself look like an idiot pressing buttons.
"I'll play," he said in the most nonchalant way I've ever heard. It literally made my heart flutter by how amazingly laid back he was being now; it made me want to grab his face and kiss him.
He laid on his back, nuzzling his head into my thigh so he could see the tv screen, pushing buttons when the game started. What ever the game was, they were shooting at each other; and it's a good thing I'm not playing because this looks hard.
"Oh Renji, do not be bothering them with your childish games," Hinari said finally entering the room with Asuka who did not look pleased at all when she seen Ikuto with his head in my lap.
"They are not childish," Renji said clearly half distracted. "They are awesome and- OH! Boom, headshot. Haha, nice one dude," his eyes flicked over to Ikuto who tilted up his chin in acknowledgement to his words.
I've never played a game before, but just by watching them, it is far from childish; it looks really fun!
"Says you. I would rather watch a movie," she said with a hair flip, walking over to take a seat beside Tadase on the other bed.
"I second that," Asuka said taking a seat in one of the corner chairs.
"Ugh, fine, if it will shut the princess up we will watch a movie. Just let us finish this match," he groaned, jumping when Yaya happily yelled out from her kill she just scored on him.
Gah, Yaya was scary good at this!
When the game started to countdown to finish the, match as he called it, the game ended and displayed the states of kills and other things, with Ikuto at the top with the most points from his kills.
Was there anything Tsukiyomi couldn't do?
"I think a comedy would be amazing," Hinari stated triumphantly as she played with her hair absent-mindedly.
"Yeh? Well too bad, all I brought are horror," he said with a smirk, popping some movie in I couldn't see.
Wait, what?! Did he say horror, oh man that's not good! I'm a total chicken...
I slightly shuddered and cleared my throat when Ikuto tossed me a curious look, trying to shrug it off as I glanced around the room to distract myself.
"You're such a little kid," she said rolling her eyes before snuggling up beside Tadase.
Yaya flicked the lights off, curled up with the bag of snacks, and glued her nose to the tv with Renji right there with her like it was going to be the most interesting thing they've ever watched in their lives.
"I'll be right back," Ikuto whispered as he slipped off the bed and exited the room without making a sound.
It wasn't long before Asuka stood and followed him out, making my brows pull together in confusion.
That's odd...
I tried to listen to see if they were talking in the hallway, and I wished I didn't because I nearly jumped off the bed when Asuka's furious voice echoed from the hall into our suit.
"Are you flipping kidding me?! What the hell is this, you're telling ME no!"
I was up on my feet and out the door quicker than Yaya had the chance to stand, just in time to see Asuka slap Ikuto as hard as she could and storm off down the hallway with a few heads watching her as they popped out of their rooms to see what all the commotion was.
Well, at least I thought it was Aksua because she had a single streak of pink in her hair shinning brightly against the black that I don't remember being there before.
Ikuto was causally leaned up against the wall with his arm crossed, staring blankly at the floor with an annoyed expression, not even looking like the slap bothered him in the least bit.
"What's going on," Yaya whispered to me, but I had no idea myself so how could I answer her?
"Not sure, but I'll find out. Why don't you go back in and watch your movie? I'll let you know, kay," I whispered back, my eyes looking up to see a fuming Hinari walk by us glaring before she took off walking down the hall after her friend.
"You better," she teased then shut the door to give us privacy.
When I flicked my eyes back in his direction, he had not moved, still staring at the floor deep in his thoughts.
"Spill, what the heck was that. Was that Asuka," I asked when I moved to stand in front of him, trying to bend down enough so I could meet his eyes.
Those sapphires finally floated up to my face when his hand lifted to push back his bangs, giving a bored shrug.
"She kept staring at me, so I felt the need to set her straight. Clearly she doesn't take rejection well," he stated matter-of-factly. "And yeah, her new character change personality needs to be worked on..."
"Oh... Ooooh, " I nodded when I caught on to what happened, trying to take a look at his cheek to see how it looked after the damage was done.
"Wait, her egg finally hatched?!" He shot me a look, and I instantly felt the blush take to my cheeks at how quickly I forgot she had just slapped him when the idea of a new Guardian Character caught my attention.
"You okay," I asked pushing back the side of his hair to get a better peak.
"Your hands are cold," was his only reply, making me jerk back my hand.
"S-Sorry..."
He lightly grabbed my wrist and placed it back to his warm cheek, holding my hand in place there. The warmth of the swollen area seeping through my cold palm, stealing the cool from my flesh.
First I'm a pillow, and now an icepack? I'm multifunctional apparently.
"You never answered my question," I had to break the silence after we stood there for the longest time without speaking.
"Yeah, I'm- wait, do you hear that?"
He dropped my wrist, his head jerking up as if to listen to something I couldn't hear.
"No, what is it?"
"Shhh," he whispered, eyes narrowing with suspicion as he started to look around for the sound I still couldn't hear.
"It sounds like-"
A scream from down the hallway made my head whip around to look in that direction, heart skipping a beat from the blood chilling sound.
"What is going on," I looked back to see Ikuto clenching his head, growling out as his body slowly slid down the wall to a crouching position.
"I-IKUTO!"
I dropped down to kneel at his side, holding his shoulders as he groaned out in pain.
"Ikuto what's wrong?!"
"My head... it's... ugh!"
His eyes closed, body collapsing in my arms as my whole world came crashing down.
"Ikuto open your eyes, Ikuto... IKUTO!"
I couldn't think, I didn't even hear Yaya open the door until I seen her hands on Ikuto's cheek trying to push back his bangs to see if he was okay. I even looked up to see her talking to me, but I couldn't hear her voice.
Her lips were moving, but there was no sound.
