Tris POV:

Tobias kisses me so hard I stumble back and bump into the wall. I pull away gasping. "Tobias, we're in a hallway."

He grabs my belt buckle and pulls me closer. "So?"

"We should go back to our apartment."

"Why?"

I groan and roll my eyes, for about the twelfth time today. I take Tobias' hand and lead us back to our apartment, then unlock the door and shove him towards the nearest chair. I kiss his cheek. "You're a great kisser, by the way."

He grins. "Well, you're one to talk."

I grin back. "I most certainly am."

Then his expression darkens. "Tris, can I ask you something?"

I take off my jacket. "You just did."

"You know what I mean."

"Okay, okay. Yeah. Ask away."

"Did Eric..." He takes a deep breath and looks down. "Did Eric take away your virginity?"

I glance at the floor as well. "Yeah."

"Oh," is all he says in response. Then: "Aren't you going to ask me something as well?"

"What is there to ask you?"

He shrugs. "Well, if you want to know, I still have mine."

"Your," I say, then I quiet my voice to a whisper. "Your virginity?"

He nods. "Tris, would you ever be willing to-"

"Tobias, I know what you're going to ask, okay? And maybe in a year or two, I'll be ready. Is that alright?"

He nods again.

"Why're you so quiet?"

Tobias shrugs, and bites his lip cutely.

I stand up. "We should go to dinner."

"Alright."

"But before we go, what is on your mind?"

He shrugs, and looks down.

"What?"

"Marcus shouldn't have been here," he says. "He knows that I'm afraid of him. Maybe...maybe if he actually, like really truly believed that his beatings were pointless then-"

"But they are pointless," I finish for him.

Tobias shakes his head. "Unfortunately, Marcus does it for power. And he knows it works. I guess one of the perks of being a Faction representative is being able to see the tapes of every initiates' Stage Two records."

"Is that even possible? Wouldn't someone notice?"

"Yeah, but if someone caught him, they'd just assume that it was for some important 'leader thing'."

"Oh." I chew on my lip quietly.

"Yeah. Marcus knows he holds me in his power."

"Well, there's only one way to find out if that's true or not," I say.

"Oh, yeah? What way is that?" Tobias asks.

"To go to your fear landscape and see if anything's changed."

A smile plays on Tobias' lips as he stands up. "Let's go."

"Wow." I say.

"Yeah," Tobias says back. He's panting hard and look in his eyes is of pure fear."That was unexpected."

"For me. Don't people notice if their fears fears have changed or not?"

Tobias shrugs. "Mine's never changed before this."

"So," I say. "Four fears then, four fears now."

Tobias smirks. "I loved that night. That night, I fell in love with you."

"Tobias, did you really fall in love with your initiate?" I say, not being able to keep myself from teasing him. "Not the infamous Four. He would never do that!"

Tobias laughs. He pulls me close to him. "Apparently I did do that. And I have to say, falling in love with you was one of the best decisions I ever made." Then his lips press against mine. I let out a small gasp and kiss back.

"So," I say, once we're back at our apartment. "At least your nickname hasn't changed."

Tobias chews on his top lip. "Yeah," he says, his voice a million miles off.

"Come on," I say, walking towards him. "It's not that bad."

"Tris," he says. "You're in two of my fears, and Marcus can come at any moment and take you away."

He's right. Instead of Marcus hurting him, Tobias' fear is of Marcus hurting me. Is that good? It just means that Marcus has another way to get to Tobias. And in place of Tobias' fear of shooting an innocent woman, he's scared of having to shoot me.

Tobias sits up. Until now, he had been lying down and burying his face in a pillow on our bed. "It's settled Tris. I'm paranoid and you're not going anywhere on your own."

"Tobias, I'll be fine."

He sighs. "I just don't want you to get hurt."

"But it's not like you to be overprotective."

Tobias sighs. He opens his mouth, as if he's going to say something, then closes it. "You're right," he says after a while. "Let's go to dinner."

The next morning, I wake up to an empty side of the bed next to me. Great, I think to myself, Tobias is still off training initiates.

I roll off the bed and change my clothes. The thing that sucks about being pregnant is that there aren't many options for smaller women who are in the middle of their pregnancy. I slip on jeans and a t-shirt and leather jacket, then walk into the Pit.

"Hey guys," I say to our table, then rub my eyes. No one is there. Christina and Will are probably sleeping in, presumably from going to Candor and Erudite yesterday to tell their families that they are married. Zeke, Shauna, Lynn and Uriah were probably up late last night clubbing. And Marlene? She said she had a late shift last night.

I slip into my chair and chew on a piece of toast. When we were young, Caleb would push the inside out and eat it first, then eat the crust. Mom would scold him for eating so slowly while some have none to eat at all, and Caleb look down at the ground. It wasn't like him to be selfish.

Until he chose Erudite.

I blink back tears. I miss my family, but I'm where I'm meant to be now. I shove the rest of my toast into my mouth and try not to think about it, then stand up and put my tray away. There's nothing for me to do now, so I go to Christina and Will's apartment. They recently moved in, so I hope I'm not interrupting anything.

"Come in!" Christina says, her voice muffled from the door that separates us. "It's open!"

I turn the doorknob and walk into the doorway, then close the door and take my shoes off. "Wow, it's warm in here."

Christina smiles cheekily. "Well yeah, silly. It's December."

I take my leather jacket off and put it on the coat rack that's near the door.

"So how are you?"

"Fine," I say. "What are you doing?"

"Making coffee," she says. She plugs something in and a grinding noise fills the air. "Want some?" she says loudly over it.

I nod. "Thanks!"

She unplugs her coffee grinder and heats up something on her tiny stove. "Cream?"

"Thanks."

"Not a problem."

"So where's Will?"

Christina tucks a piece of hair behind her ear. "At work. He really does love that Control Room."

"Christina," I tease. "Are you jealous?"

Christina blushes. "Me? Jealous? No..."

"I think not."

"Fine," she says. "You win! Ooh, coffee's ready!" She pours two cups and carries them over to a small table in her kitchen. "Like our royal dining room?"

"At least it's better than ours," I say.

"Oh? What's yours?"

"The Pit."

Christina throws her head back and laughs.

"How was your honeymoon?"

She grins. "Great! Married life is sooooo much better than I would have thought."

I raise my eyebrows. "Oh really."

"Yes! We went to Amity; you know that. It was so much fun! And the view! They gave us this small little house in the middle of the orchard, so it was surrounded by trees and this cool little stream. It was so cold, but so much fun! Oh, Tris! If you would have been there, you would have loved it!"

"I know what that's like," I say. "But yeah. Amity was certainly fun, if not a little over-the-top."

"I know what you mean, Tris. But it was just sooo relaxing!"

I don't respond, but Christina just goes on talking anyways.

"...And then yesterday we went to tell our parents that we were married. Well, my parents and Will's sister."

"How'd they take the news?"

"My parents are getting used to the idea that I'm not their little baby anymore, but were still surprised. Will's sister Cara, on the other hand, still considers Will as someone she needs to protect, but if Will's happy, she is."

"That's good."

Christina drains her cup. "That was good."

I glance at mine, which I had forgotten about. I take a sip at it and my face twists.

"How do you like it?"

"It's..." I say. "interesting."

Christina raises her eyebrows at me, as if to say Is that all?

So I take a big gulp of it. It may taste bitter, but it may just help me wake up.

And that's what I need now.

"Well, I should go," Christina says, standing up. "I've got a shift soon."

I stand up as well. "Yeah, I've got stuff too."

"If you don't mind me asking, what do you have to do?"

"Oh, I don't mind at all." Then I shrug. "Think about life, I guess."

Christina takes my mug from me and puts it and hers in her sink. Then she walks over and hugs me. "See you later."

I pat her back. "Thanks. Yeah, you too."

"Tell me if you need anything."

"Thanks." I then slip on my shoes and jacket and walk out into the hallway. It's been a fairly pleasant morning, and I'm glad for that. But now, I need to focus on life, life after my baby girl is with Caleb. And there's only one place to go if I want peace and quiet without Tobias noticing that I'm gone: the Net.

I've been sitting here for a while now, thinking about life while staring up into the sky. It's a fairly breezy day, but then again, nearly every day is like this. Caleb told me that a long, long time ago, Chicago was referred to as 'the windy city.' Except, today, there's frost peeking between the ropes of the Net. It's so cold, yet peaceful.

I stare up at the sky and see a million clouds, with small patches of blue sky. It's beautiful and infinite. And as much as I love the sun, I want this moment to last forever.

"You shouldn't be out here," a familiar voice says to me.

I can hardly hold back a grin. As much as I wanted to be here alone, I will never want him to go away now.

"I can only stay for a while," he says, "Then I've got to go back to the Training Room." With each word, he walks closer to me, his footsteps echoing on the pavement. Then the Net bounces as he jumps onto it, and lays beside me.

"I've missed you," I whisper.

"I've only been gone a few hours," he whispers back.

"It seemed like an eternity."

"That's what happens when you're in love."

I pull him closer to me, this time initiating the kiss.

When I pull back to breath, he holds me close. "Tris, let me love you. I want to memorize your body with my lips, and yours to mine."

I kiss him again, hoping that he takes that as a 'yes.' When he does nothing, I sigh. "Give me some time. But when I'm ready-"

"I'll be waiting for you."

We kiss once more, before I pull back. "Shouldn't you be going back to the Training Room?"

He shrugs. "They can wait," he responds, before kissing me passionately yet again.

A/N

Hey guys! I'm sorry I took so long to update, but I've been incredibly busy this past few weeks...anyways! I have recently been thinking about this story and have some questions for some of you...

1) Are the filler chapters boring? Do I need more fluff or action or [insert one of your ideas here]? I try to write some fluff, but I don't know how well it turns out until I get feedback...

2) Would you like me to skip ahead to the birth, then continue on from there? Or a whole new story about Tris' girl's life when it's time to choose her own faction?

Thanks guys!

...oh, and by the way, CATCHING FIRE WAS SOOOOO AMAZING! ANYONE WANT TO FANGIRL WITH ME?
