Chapter 26: Wiz

"Kyu," large ruby eyes regarded the other magical being curiously.
Feline eyes widened in surprised before narrowing in rage, "Mousy!" The white clad hunter was on his feet in a heartbeat wings spread hands glowing with golden magic. "where are you thief! I demand that you show yourself!"
"Kyu."
The Hikari curse took a threatening step towards the creature he knew was his counterpart's familiar serving as the thief's wings and occasionally as a distraction or copy. The rabbit merely stared up at him fluffy head cocked. Krad approached the familiar cautiously feline eyes searching the shadow for his purple haired opposite. "Mousy!" Snowy wings fanned a bit more feather shining in the moonlight. "Thief," the light angel paused looking down at the familiar anger slowly draining away leaving only confusion.
"Kyu," {I can sense you are lonely shiroiyoku.} Wiz looked up at the ice demon now standing over him. The little rabbit felt a sense of satisfaction as he watched the ominous glow fade from about the now confused Hikari hunter's hands. He moved forwards rubbing against the blond's ankle, "kyu."
Krad took several steps back only to have the rabbit hop forwards pressing it's body once more to his leg and look up at him with large soulful eyes.
"Kyu, kyu."
The ice hunter backed up several more steps confused on what the creature wanted. It clearly wasn't trying to attack him so what on earth was the little beast trying to do?
"Kyuuu!"
Now the familiar sounded annoyed hopping forwards yet again. Golden eyes narrowed as the white angel reached down picking the little rabbit up by the scruff of the neck. The hunter scowled lifting the magical animal to eye level, "what is it you want?"
Wiz squirmed in the light angel's grip managing to twist so that he could rub his head under the Blond's chin. He felt the other entity's breath catch slightly at the gentle touch. "Kyu, kyu kyu," the rabbit was annoyed when he was once more placed on the ground and the hunter backed up yet again.
"Shew," the Hikari curse turned away moving back over to his original spot settling back down wings curled around his body.
Ruby eyes rolled as Wiz hopped once more over to the blond and then before shiroiyoku could react into his lap, "kyu."
Krad stared down at the little rabbit in confounded disbelief.
"Kyu," Wiz stared up imploringly at the white clad light entity willing him to understand. {I am here, you are not alone anymore.}
"I thought I told you to leave." The Hikari curse picked up the small rabbit like creature and placed him on the ground giving him a shove, "scram." However rather than taking his words to heart the familiar merely turned jumping back into the light angel's lap. Krad frowned once more picking up the little beast and placing him on the roof. Once more the rabbit turned and jumped into the white entity's lap snuggling down as if he was planning on staying for a while. Now wearing an exasperated expression the light half of the Kokuyoku reached for the creature invading his personal space and picked him up again.
Wiz growled.
Golden eyes widened the ice demon completely taken aback. Had the little familiar actually just growled at him? The demonic angel? The psychotic blond? He made as if to continue his motion of placing the rabbit on the ground and received another even louder growl. Pale lips twitched slightly as Krad relented placing the creature back into his lap, "very well then."
"Kyu."
Okay, now that had been a smug kyu if the hunter had ever heard one. "Isn't your master going to miss you?" His only answer was the rabbit snuggling against his coat with a happy sound. The icy blond sighed tilting his head back to watch the stars. Unconsciously slender gloved fingers began to run through fluffy fur as rabbit and hunter relaxed in the peace of the night.

AN: We never really find out in the anime if Wiz is a Hikari artwork or not. So while I was typing this story I got struck with an idea. What if Wiz was the spirit of the Kokuyoku's sword? So while Wiz is mostly with Dark acting as his wings and familiar. He also comes to visit Krad the other half of the artwork he is connected to. I'm going off the idea that while the sword on the Kokuyoku statue was a part of the finished artwork it was created separately, the sword gained its own spirit that then became bound to the Kokuyoku statue.
