Mai sat across from her father and told him about her boy troubles, her mum wasn't there and wasn't really any good at it.

"Well do you love one of them?"

"I don't know, god I've never even remotely had a boyfriend!" Mai said putting her face in her hands.

"I'm horrible, I shouldn't be doing this."

"Mai when I met your mum I was with Asami and I cared for her, but I loved your mother more than anything, still do. But baby if you love one of them you need to tell them."

"But it's like, I'm around both of them and I can't lose them." Mai looked back up to her dad with red rimmed eyes, he came over to her and pulled her into a hug. She didn't cry, she didn't even speak she just laid there silently.

Nilak was in a room alone, as if they were trying to get the blood bending out of his system. Mai had told Zei to go get some sleep while she took her shift watching over him.

"Mai let me go." He whimpered. It hurt her but she shook her head.

"No, Nilak this is going to help you."

"I'm sorry, but I can't help it Mai! You know that!" Mai hit her head hard against the wall.

"No! God do you not understand how hard this is!" Mai said punching the wall, Nilak came up to the hole in the door and held out his hand, Mai didn't know what to do. She lightly placed her hand in his and heard sobs on the other side of the door.

"Nilak?" She asked, he didn't answer she heard more sobs. Opening the door Mai slowly walked in to find him in tears. She bent down to comfort him when she felt a hand smack her hard in the back of the head. She looked up dizzily to see Nilak getting up and Zei helping him.

"Come on Mai, time to go."

"What?" She slurred out. Crap they had gotten him too, so far she knew that Akai and Aden were the only sane ones. So she started screaming as loud as she possibly could, she knew Aden might have heard her from outside but instead he walked in and grabbed her too.

"This wasn't our choice Mai, you have to understand that." Aden said grabbing her and gagging her. She thrashed furiously, they had gotten to her friends. The pricks!

She knew they wouldn't comply by choice, she knew that. She wasn't sure where her dad was, but when they dragged her outside she saw he was also in the same truck as she was.

"MMMM!" She screamed through the rope, all three of the boys looked pained. Like every second they were doing it they were trying to fight it. Trying to break free from the blood benders grip but the door slammed and her dad stirred awake.

She looked over to him and his hands were tied. He saw her and his eyes went wide, she had a large cut on her hair line that left blood leaking down her face.

"I called Korra, we are going to be fine." He said sitting up and started to burn off some of the rope, she waited for him to do so then he untied her.

"Dad they will kill you and then they are going to mutilate me." She said lighting her hand white.

"Since when have you been able to do that?"

"Since I learnt."

"Melt both sides of this truck, then take down your friends."

"I won't hurt them."

"Then knock them in the head hard so they won't get back up."

"That's the same thing dad."

"I don't want you doing this, stay here." He sat her back down, Mai angrily got up and thrashed from her father's grip.

"Dad I am not the little girl I was, you trained me so I could do this. Let me help my friends, please. They don't know what they're doing; you have to let me help them."

"Mai I-" He looked torn, Mai chuckled then put her hand in his.

"It doesn't matter what you say because help them whether you say yes or no." Mai said, her father sighed.

"You're just like your mother sometimes." He mumbled scratching the stubble thing he had going on. Mai pulled him off his feet as she started to heat the side of the walls, she just placed her hand on it when it electric shocked her.

"Ouch!" She yelped backing off, Mako caught her giving her a once over before he did the same.

"OK, well we can't get out of here that easily." He mumbled, Mai kicked the wall sending it to cause another shock.

"Dammit, why do I keep doing that?" She mumbled planting her bottom back on the ground. She saw Aden sitting in the back seat of the truck; she squirmed up to the window.

"Aden, Aden what are you doing?" She mumbled, Mako came up behind her and put his hands on her shoulders for support.

"I don't have a choice."

"You always have a choice!" She screamed angrily, Mako pulled her back as anger pulsed through her. He wrapped his arms around her tightly so she would calm down as she laid her head into the old scarf he had given her. He stroked her hair and kissed her forehead whispering it's all going to be fine in her ear. He hadn't done that since she was a little girl.

"It's going to be OK Mai."

"How could they just get people's brains and toy with them? How could they blood bend mum into a pulp and want to turn me into a freaking soldier! I hate this, why couldn't everything just be normal!"

"You are the avatar's daughter, you aren't meant to be a normal kid." Mai knew he was right, she was the daughter of the avatar of course she wasn't supposed to be normal.

"This is it dad, I'm finishing this tonight."
