Hey everybody.
I've got some bad news.
Some of you may know what it is already, but I will say it anyways: The Walking Dead – Bleached is, as of now, officially scrapped.
There are multiple reasons for this. For one, I really don't have time to work on two stories consecutively; my other story, NGE: The Pokemon Raising Project, was just updated for the first time in months a couple days ago. That alone shows how little time I have on my hands, not to mention how exhausted I am from work almost every day.
Writing itself has been hard as well for me to even do. Most of my passion for writing was killed when finals came around last college semester. So many term papers, guys and gals; most at 10 pages each. I couldn't even think of opening up Microsoft word without it feeling like a chore.
Probably the biggest blow to this story is the current Bleach cannon. While I was trying to adapt my story to the chapters that came out every week in my head, I soon realized that what I wanted to happen in my story just wouldn't make sense. In addition, trying to put an end to a story similar to The Walking Dead is nigh-impossible; even if I was to kill Ichigo at the end (which was, admittedly, the plan), I would have developed other characters like Shuhei, Nanao, Halibel, etc so much by then that I could still continue it with them. It's impossible for me to write a never-ending story; even if I had help, eventually they would become tired of it as well.
Now, I really hate cliffhangers, as most of you probably do too. So, to make up for not finishing this story in its entirety, I'll give somewhat of an abridged version of it here below. I do this only because I know for certain I will never finish this story properly, and I feel bad for leaving so many of you with unanswered questions and plot-points.
Of course, Kingpin did not die to his injuries. After a couple month time skip once Ichigo and co. returned to the prison, reunited with the others, and Orihime died during childbirth, Kingpin would attack the prison with Grimmjow and his men just days after Inoue's death. Halibel and Starrk (minus Lilinette, who had perished prior) would return during the attack, and help turn the tide somewhat, saving Ichigo from a killing blow from Kingpin. During the skirmish, Renji, Aaroniero, Urahara, Ururru, Grimmjow, Gentu, and all of Kingpin's men would perish. The main group would be split into two groups.
Kingpin would return to The Sancturary and burn it to the ground, killing all those inside. He would then wander the land, searching for Ichigo.
Ichigo, Yuzu, Halibel, and Starrk would meet Kenpachi, Yachiru, Shinji, and Lisa. During this time, Ichigo copes with the loss of Orihime, and begins to change into a much more serious character to what he is normally portrayed as in Bleach.
The other group, consisting of Shunsui, Nanao, Shuhei, Rangiku, and Hitsugaya, would meet Yammy who, in his stronger Gigai form, cannibalized Zommari and Ulquiorra to survive. He captures Shunsui and eats his leg, before the Captain is revealed to have been wounded by a walker and was "tainted meat". Soon after, the other Soul Reapers find Yammy and kill him. In what I planned to be a very emotional scene, Nanao would have to put Kyoraku to rest,
Eventually the groups would reunite at a safe establishment, founded by Isshin Kurosaki, where other characters like Yumichika, Yoruichi, Soi Fon, Kon, Tatsuki, and others would have been residing.
Kingpin would make his sudden reappearance, killing Yuzu with a purple Quincy Arrow. A flashback would commence, revealing that he was an ex-Sternritter (C, "The Chemical") and the developer of the zombie virus. He created the virus to try and kill Ywhach, who had taken the life of his beloved Brianna during his Holy Selection (the same one responsible for robbing Ichigo's mother of her powers). Once found out, he escaped before Ywhach could eliminate him. Needing a way to make Ywhach have to come out of the shadow dimension, Kingpin unleashed the virus into the World of the Living to weed out Kurosaki, and attempt to kill him so Ywhach would intervene.
After seeing Yuzu die, Ichigo is struck by one of Kingpin's arrows. However, the arrow unlocks Ichigo's repressed Quincy abilities. The virus itself is a corruption of reshi that infects those who are too weak to its pressure. Any spiritual being not in a Gigai would instantly dissolve under its toxin, which is why none of the Soul Reapers/Espada/certain Quincy cannot release their swords/fight at full power. Ichigo is immune due to his raw power; Kingpin made himself as immune as possible, but can only use his Quincy abilities sparingly.
In a fight that would have lasted 2-3 chapters, Ichigo finally defeats Kingpin when he manages to create a reishi-version of Zangetsu. Kingpin would try to warn Ichigo of Ywhach before Ichigo abruptly shoots him between the eyes, killing him.
The story would finish with an arc featuring the Sternritter and Ywhach vs. Ichigo and co., with BG9 being a prominent threat (a robot in a zombie apocalypse = huge advantage). Ichigo would defeat Ywhach (somehow; with his Almighty having been revealed even I can't think of a good counter to it), but die afterwards, ending the story. In theory.
Final cast at the end: Hitsugaya, Nanao, Shuhei, Rangiku, Halibel, Kenpachi, Shinji, Isshin, Kon, Soi Fon.
If it WAS to continue after this, then Aizen would've come into play. Somehow.
So yeah, that's about it. If you have any questions about any of that, PM me or ask in a review. I'll answer to the best of my ability.
And now, I must leave you with this. I hope you enjoyed the ride we had, and I'm glad you enjoyed everything I had given with this story.
Bankai,
Arrancon.
